The guards and the officials at places like Auschwitz offered up the same argument when confronted with their crimes after WW2: "We were following orders." Although I'm not comparing a damaged building to the taking of a life, the idea of underlings blindly following orders at the behest of a superior without thought to the results of their actions, speaks to how far these chelleh are willing to go.

With the money, knowledge, and connections SGPC has, they should be hiring experts to preserve these buildings and solidify them for the coming centuries. SGPC had to bring international scientists to make sure the Dukh Bhanjani Beri didn't DIE at Sri Darbar Sahib due to the Marble around it (which was put by Kar Seva Babas), the tree roots couldn't get enough nutrients. Why SGPC can't do the same with buildings baffles me. There are also many other Historical trees in other gurdwaras that are either dead or dying, but no one cares as they aren't popular gurdwaras like Sri Darbar Sahib.

Christiangirl great post. You seem like someone with a level head. That is right we can all learn from each other. That is what faith should be about. Understanding different faiths and seeing the beauty in them. As a Sikh I in no way want to try and make you a Sikh. Or try and persuade you our way is the best. Each person is free to decide what faith they want to believe in and as you pointed out you have chosen Christianity and that is great. That is the beauty of Sikhi we do not look down on non believers. We see all as one. The universal.brotherhood of man and woman. You are probably more intellegent and wise then alot of people on this forum. Who are lacking in common sence and wisdom.
