  1. Same as today any writer can write about general majority of Sikhs being non-turbaned, drinking or some smoking. 100 years later we cannot simply believe that they were the actual Sikh. Just like in past there were actual Sikhs who followed guru path and some who were on and off that path with their weakness. Maharaja Ranjit is the perfect example of a Sikh who was not a Sikh in our guru eyes with his lifestyle.

  2. What's your deal, bro? You seem to like to post a whole bunch of quotations from various sources without any sort of context. OK, so Col. Steinbach wrote a book. What's your point? What do you make of it? Are you saying that because Steinbach wrote a sentence regarding some things he saw, that applies uniformly to all Sikhs? Secondly, are you making a religious point about Sikhs and meat? If so, state it explicitly. Thanks for the link to the book, though. Very interesting. Also regarding the fact that Maharaja Ranjit SIngh was a profligate drinker, again, what are you trying to prove? That Sikhs should be drunk out of their minds? You do realize that the Sikh kingdom was totally destroyed, and the foundations for its destruction were laid during the Maharaja's time because he failed to set things up like he should have. Does that have anything to do with being a drunkard? Perhaps you ended up proving the exact opposite of your intended point. Thanks for that.

  3. they need to recruit a media team with a modern approach to things, but they too stupid to do that. i also think if they make a team of archaeologists they will find some really cool things in amritsar like secret under ground tunnels from the time of the sikh raj you can create a fine balance between tradition and modernity both are important so much potential in amritsar like they reopened qila gobindgarh in amritsar which goes back to the time of the sikh misls and was later developed and further fortified by maharaja ranjit singh, they reopened the fort and decided to open punjabi dhabas and camel rides inside it what the fvck!!! why would you have dhabas and camel rides inside a fort used in battle! how more out of character can they make it but like you said they too stupid to do that

  4. true organized religion tells you this is how it is and this is how you do it, dharmic faiths let you grow and let you experience it for yourself. abrahamic faiths dont let you grow because they tell you "all the answers" they think they know it all and are very arrogant. thats why you see muslims and christians boasting and looking stupid. the nature of abrahamic and dharmic faiths is completely different.

  5. just because a goray wrote something doesn't make it true Ernest Trump wrote Guru ji was repetitive , irrelevant and not worth reading , that It is NOT divinely sourced , did that make the A right and Sikhi wrong. The whole machine of British invasion was designed to trash every aspect of Sikh kingdoms life, political and administrative might , truth was it was reknowned worldwide as being the most rich kingdom with peaceful, effective administration with protections against famine , illiteracy, inumeracyfor every citizen, religious harmony and tolerance .

  7. Good summary. The problem with other religions is that they have permanent hellfire for merely not believing in Christianity. As opposed to us believing in temporary hell for bad deeds.

  8. Got it. Of course, I agree that we should not have different types of amrit sanchars. When Guru Gobind Singh ji first reveal the khanda-bata amrit, there was only one rehit.

  9. Funniest comment in the thread. Seriously, though, I have to laugh at people crying about 5000 camels being killed out of one million! Meanwhile, no one cares about at least 3000 Sikhs being killed in New Delhi, not to mention the other cities. It brings to mind Madho Daas crying about Guru Gobind Singh ji having one of his goats killed at his aashram. Guru ji asked why he didn't cry at human blood being spilled all across India?

  10. The way I see it is that it depends on the spiritual stage of the couple. Remember we are not robots programmed to act in a such manner. There is no program/software put in us to behave only in such particular way. Giving example based on original topic here. One couple who are amritdhari but their spiritual jeevani is at - let say beginner level. They believe issues like eating outside or sexting between them is ok. This is because their inner mind (spiritual level) does not make them think that it is wrong ‘yet’. Now another couple who are practicing Sikhi at high spiritual level and their mind says to refrain eating outside and not to indulge in any sexting etc etc at all cost. That is their gurmat oriented Khalsa lifestyle. They both are Sikh couple at different spiritual stage. There is no quick fix to make the young couple think otherwise, unless they advance to the higher spirituality with help of sangat and their own self-discipline. Now you will also see another type of folks following rules to refrain from certain things such as above 2 issues.. but the only negative part is that they are doing it without their inner spiritual awakening. Now, it is always good to have rules for newbie to follow but it is a temporary roadmap bridge to get on high ground of spirituality. We have lot of those folks who are stuck at that ‘suppose to be temporary bridge’ and not moving forward. To them rules are rules but to understand behind those rules, they will only understand the real meaning when they have their own spiritual awakening. Until then we will see negative cases like divorces, them being victims of Panj vikars etc etc.

  13. this the first video iv seen of his will check more out. lady talks more about her journey rather than the tactics the missionaries use. but she talks about how christians approach you when your in need of help and tell you that "god loves u" while hindus come around your house and start reading scriptures, christians have that human level conversation with you. her family were also approached by a christian when they were going through hard times and told that jesus loves them. she comes from a bhramin family and said that they let you keep your culture and bhramin identity but get you to worship jesus, that way the person dont feel like they leave their indian routes. she left the faith and became bhramin again after going america and studying the bible.

  14. The BBC page says: "In a bid to understand why his own brother became so religious Sunny also spends time with his family, and, for the first time, visits a Sikh camp." So, now that Jagraj Singh dead, now this loser Sunny wants to understand why Jagraj became religious? What a fool. Why didn't he simply ask his brother when he was alive? Also, notice how he subtly insults him by saying not just "religious", but "so religious". As if Jagraj is in danger of exploding a bomb at any time. One word he certainly won't use is spiritual, because to Sunny Sikhism is just a serious of stupid meaningless rules. No one would ever follow such crazy rules unless they themselves were crazy.

  17. Waheguru! Such wrong advice. I am disgusted. Brother, wet dream usually happen to people who masturbated before and they are indeed a weakness. (If you didn't masturbate, but still have wet dreams, it means either you are doing something wrong in terms of lifestyle, etc and/or you are genetically weak) Which not to worry can be overcome. Read on. The only way to stop wet dreams is to wake up at Amrit Vela, as 9/10 wet dreams happen in the 4 pahar of the night. Around 3 and half hours before sunrise. And then you have to take Ishnaan (cold shower). (I would say 10/10 but once I ate wrong and went to sleep really bloated and I had wet dream at 1 am.) You will think but I need 8 hours of sleep or whatsoever, no you don't. Clear your mind from negativity, stop eating foods your body doesn't need, eat better food, eat some fruit, etc. Then you will notice that you will wake up on your own around that time. From there your sleep is done finished. From there you will have the choice of waking up (rise) or falling back to sleep. It is in this second sleep that wet dreams happen, and this sleep is heavy, you are filled with dreams, even if you don't have any wet dreams, your mind looses energy. When you start to practice this, you will know exactly what I mean. To achieve this you will first have to go to bed on time (around 9/ 10 or 11 pm) and get your diet in check. Practice basic bibek. No nonsense food at all, no meat, no eggs, ask your mom to make you simple foods, or learn to make yourself. If you can take Amrit and follow Sarbloh Bibek, you can make Kara Parsad as much as you like with proper marayda. Also do Bani. Forget about wet dreams, you will become a MahaVeer. O Baba, the pleasure of other sleep is false. (this refers to the second sleep I talked about, if you can read gurbani, you know it says Hor Sauna, hor can mean other, but it also means more.) By such sleep, the body is ruined, and wickedness and corruption enter into the mind. ||1||Pause||4||7|| (Ang 16) Waheguru.

  18. THEY BURN IN HELL!!!! THEY'RE BEATEN BY DEMONS! Nah, I'm kidding. It's a good question. I myself have wondered how the "system" for organising and processing these issues in the afterlife is designed. It would suggest, based on what happens here on Earth, that the followers of all but one faith will be disappointed, to say the least, when they're confronted by the objective parameters of the reality of in the Great Beyond. My theory, based on years of unhinged daydreams, is that every soul needs to incarnate into every belief system before "moving on" and completing a particular cycle of rebirth. If you're spiritually attuned, it's quite obvious to spot the people in their present lifetimes who previously belonged to a particular religion, or held certain beliefs, in a previous lifetime, because they carry over much of the baggage, attitude, and demeanour of their previous selves, which they just haven't been able to shed in their latest incarnation. So, what happens is they transpose that innate manner of being they've accumulated over many lifetimes, and it's continued in their present. There's no conscious desire to progress on a higher level. Now, you could argue the material world makes it impossible to keep these lofty thoughts at the forefront of our minds; that navigating life is difficult enough without the individual going to the lengths of conducting a parallel spiritual meta-narrative alongside their daily corporeal narrative, that is seemingly difficult to prove in an objective sense, and therefore increasingly viewed as non-existent and foolish in this age of spiritual decadence. Contrary to what's taught by preachers, transcending religion and becoming one with the Creator is not an overnight or one-lifetime feat for the vast majority. You have to earn it through arduous, countless lifetimes, and I feel in this respect many Sikhs will be immensely disheartened when they come to realise this in their own situations. But, yeah, keep following and listening to the corrupt God-men, lol. They've got your back... ?

  19. Gurfateh ! Here is an article from the original <edit> - I copied it - old stylee - yes I typed it out ! - It's from I think around 2000 The pictures are from various sources - the 'fuzzy' ones are from <edit> - yes we have ways and means of capturing pictures even if you don't want us to !!! :D It gives a description of the preparation of Shaheedi Degh - The Pictures at the end give examples of the preparation of Shardaai from paintings. Enjoy ! Ranjit Singh 'Freed' Shaheedi Degh - 'The Drink of Martyrs' The first step of preparing Shaheedi Degh is obtaining five ingredients, Badaam (Almonds),Cuss Cuss (dried Poppy Seeds), Kali Mirch (Black Pepper), Green Ilechi (green Cardamon) and hand picked marijuana leaves. Within the Akali Nihang Dals they will not use almonds cracked by anybody else. They must be cracked fresh by the 'Sukhi Singh' - (The bringer of Happiness Singh, The Nihang that prepares the Sukha)................The Sukhi Singhs must take an Ishnaan before they commence the preparation of Shaheedi Degh. More Satkaar is given to Shaheedi Degh than is given to the Karah Prashaad in any Western Gurdwara Sahib. Water from taps is never used. The roots for this Maryada can be traced back to the arrival of the British in India. Before the British came there were no taps, the Akali Nihangs were at war with the British and out of principle refused to drink from the water system that they had created. Other Bibeki Akali Nihangs state the pipes that carry water are punctured in many places consequently the water maybe infected with some impurity. Fresh water is raised from the well in an iron bucket. This way the Sukhi Singhs can be sure that the water they use has not been tampered with. All five ingredients are placed into the Snheri (Golden Vessels, refers to the stone mortar), the Sukhi Singh adds a little fresh water and begins to perform ragrha ( circling movement) with the Slotr (heavy wooden club). This is done until all the ingredients have been reduced to a green thick paste. Throughout the preparation of Shaheedi Degh the Sukhi Singhs must have their mouths covered and their minds on Gurbani or the Gurmantar. This is vital to the preparation of Shaheedi Degh, only when Gurbani is on the lips of the Singhs preparing it does it become true Shaheehi Degha. Only then is it blessed by Shaheed Singhs. Only vessels of sarbloh are used to prepare Shaheedi Degh. The use of Shaheedi Degh is vital to Satguru Khalsa Panth Singh Sahib Ji, during the darkest hour of the Gurpanth's history, Sukha was a great friend to the Akali Nihangs. The warrior who had many horrific wounds would be able to continue to fight in one last battle thanks to the aid of Sukh Nidhaan. It's use as part of a whole system of medicine is also talked about within Akali Nihang Singh tradition. After the paste has been completely ground down it is placed on top of the Sher Kan (Ears of a Lion, Cloth used to extract the moisture from the paste). Water is poured over the paste through the Sher Kan, thus all of the nourishment and flavouring is removed from the paste. This process is repeated many times. The Sher Kan are squeezed until all the goodness has been removed from the paste........ ..............................The consumption of Shaheedi Degh is not compulsory for any Nihang Singh. There are many Nihang Singhs that do not drink Sukha. Within the Dal Panth diversity is a strength not a weakness ........................Shaheedi Degh is prepared twice a day. If this maryada was abandoned then Buddha Dal could reclaim the Dals Nagara (Battle Drum) and Nishaan Sahib. In this picture we can see the Nugda, this is the dried paste after all the essence has been removed. This Nugda is said to represent the heads of the enemy, after offering Ardas to Akaal Purakh, SatGur Nanak jee and all of the Shaheed Singhs this nugda is thrown against something hard, this represents the smashing of the enemies head. A battle song is sung before the Nugda is thrown this is known as Nugda Charn. Nugda Charn ; "Grinding Sukha, black pepper and almonds. We make ready a court fit for kings. Whatever Nugda is left we strike at the heads of our enemies. Oh enemy here comes a Nugda picking off your children. Your enmity with the Guru's House will not last long. Today live your life to the fullest. Tommorrow the Khalsaa is attacking. Holding swords in their hands. You would not be able to run and save yourself. Breaking your castle. Grabbing your moustache. Sitting on your chest. Smashing your face. Colouring your face black. Tying you and bringing you into the presence of the Nihnag Singhs. Nihang Singhs are going to take their revenge from you in the fullest. Here comes a ball leaving not walls or trenches. Oh filthy evil foreighn scum where can you run and hide? . Death comes ahead of you Death comes behind you Crying the Battle Cry KAAAAAL !!!!!!!
