  1. You still have not understood the bigger picture have you.

  2. The Abassid/Umayadd Empires never incorporate any kingdoms. Neither did the Ottomans, nor the Romans. Some of kingdoms that were incorporated had to pay tribute like in the Persian Empires. The Mughal had vassal kingdoms. Past empires were not exactly benevolent. The white empires were far more successful and sophisticated in their methods.

  3. Imagine this kind of devotion for serving the needy applied to poor families around punjab, the same people that are heading in droves to churches, pirs, and other charlatans. Doesn't have to be food, it could be in the form of schooling expenses, health care, housing....real things that go beyond the pics! Empower them to build a gurdwara! As much as you wanna give these brothers a pat on the back, deep down we know this is more about building some +pr. We need to realize where society is heading and prepare in that direction. Wasteful expenditure of our resources is not smart.

  6. One country's heroes are another country's villain. The whites have killed and massacred like every other empire did before them. They were probably more successful as they learned from previous empires. The Spanish massacred a lot of native people's in the Americas, but the Spaniards themselves were occupied for nearly 700 years by the muslims and learnt a lot from them. We find it offensive because it was done to us. And at this moment in time, the whites are the top dogs. In central asian countries, they have statues of Timur. Now, Timur massacred and looted people in the subcontinent, maybe we should request the Uzbek govt to take down the statue. Or if in Punjab, if some decides to put up a Hari Singh Nalwa statue and some Pakistani Pathan or Afghani finds it offensive because during our empire, he burnt down villages to suppress their rebellion. We want to right a perceived wrong, but all that can happen is you go down a slippery slope.

  8. Pakistanis: the red-headed step-child of the Islamic world. No history of their own; denigrated by the Arabs who consider them to be a lower class of Muslim, yet so enamoured with their conquerer's belief systems and culture (as well as being painfully aware of this obvious and immutable division), yet unable to dial any of it back for obvious reasons, it's no wonder they're so determined to prove their loyalty and worth to the rest of the Islamic ummah, usually in the most destructive and inhumane ways known to Man.

  11. It is the language our Gurus spoke in and in that sense it holds a special sentimental value over all other languages for the Sikhs. Gurbani is not pure braj. It is a mixture of Braj, Punjabi among other indic languages. A proud nation strives to preserve it's language as a cultural anchor. Just as Jews all over the world revived a dead language like Hebrew we should strive to preserve and promote the language of the Gurus. Whenever Khalistan will become a reality and later Khalsa Raj, no doubt Punjabi language will be the lingua franca of this Raj. Punjabi Hindus and Muslims are suffering from an inferiority complex. That is why they speak Hindi and Urdu with their children instead of their mother tongue which they are ashamed to speak like the woman in the above video.

  12. Lol. Like I said earlier we ruled it just over 50 years and were still a minority behind the muslims and Hindus. Even in Amritsar weaver about 50 50 with Hindus. Are we just a rural community?

  14. It will never be as big. However, it has made a dent in Bollywood. Since Bollywood is an industry that has been largely started and run by Punjabis, they will have a very keen eye on the development of Punjabi film industry. What also needs to be understood is that the Punjabi diaspora is big. It would not surprise me if the Punjabi cinema overseas is cutting into the profits and revenue of Bollywood overseas.

  15. The advent in the rise of Punjabi cinema and the decline of Bollywood has made the formally pre-partition Lahore based HP Khatris in the industry quite butt hurt. Punjabi cinema it seems to have popularised the Sardar in a more masculine and positive light. I am not a big fan of the likes of Ammy Virk or Diljit Dosanjh but they have definitely improved the image of the Sardar. A Sardar has been showed can be a leading man in a romantic role who gets the girl. The jealous HP Khatri of Mumbai is now trying to jump on the bandwagon and try to make the Sardar into a bafoon again. Bollywood is a dying industry. I cannot even name a recent film and I could not even name a single up and coming actor. They just seem to be throwing models in there.

  17. Unfortunately for us, very little of the moments in our history have proved to reward us for our many efforts. Maybe that's God's way of telling us something is a little off.

  18. Goes to prove that only Sikhs held it up for punjab, punjabi and punjabiyat. The vast majority of pakistani muslims are in favor of urdu because its association with mughul muslim rule. The hindu's are in favor of hindi as proved by their insitance of dividing pepsu punjabi area's in 1960s into 3 different states along non-punjabi speaking linguistic lines. So if a person is a true punjabi they should align themselves with sikhi who fought and held pride of punjab up.

  20. sikhs weren't told to be langar babey but sant sipahi who look after their own and then the world , there is a reason for this a chain is only as strong as its weakest link so, by that logic we have to raise up or poor downtrodden sikh brothers and sisters get them justice , security so they cannot be exploited . Back in Mughal times, sikhs didn't just care only about the majority forgetting their own , they ensured a secure panth as well as serving others' needs . As for sovereignty Guru ji said to us exactly how we are to get it , by ensuring no sikh's destiny is controlled by a nonsikh.

  21. Bollywood minted it when : they influenced sardar's daughters to reject sikh sardars as life partners they took the mick of dastarwale sardars by creating santa banta characters they got every sikh being played by muslims or Laafunge Hindu stars in films they showed sikh males constantly being friendzoned they showed sikhs as incapable of processing anything in life without getting plastered they showed sikhs as darpok /idiots/ jokers/ sidekicks showed a sabat soorat sikh converting to islam to get his girl and milking sikh ithihaas to generate money for themselves .

  22. If you weren't Sikh (and this is the kind of situation I talked about stepping outside of your mind, and trying to think like the "other"), would you say a religious group that runs a holy soup kitchen as a form of, "Remember when I gave you free food? Please don't hurt me when you're in the ascendancy" deserves what you're hoping for merely as reward for filling the belly of ungrateful non-Sikhs?

  24. KA is also involved too. American Sikhs are the most far left communist SJW pro Pakistani/Islamist, out there. I think these different 'Sikh' Charities' , Gurdwara's committees, are taking page from KA that they can raise millions from 'free food' distribution, raises their profiles, backing from liberal media outlets, politicians, = $$$ ..and cont to whitewash Sikhi as sjw religion Last week some Sikhs started a petition for Hassan Minaj, who's pro Islamist goes on about free Kashmir, free Gaza' for cover 1984 Sikh genocide on his show...like begging him social media...so pathetic and desperate,,we are asking Indian Muslim, who's going to prob call Khalistans as terrorists to talk about Sikh affairs...how sad! Has any Muslim come forward to pay for rebuild damage Gurudwara in Kashmir, Derby or help out those Afghan Sikhs?? I remember during NZ christchurch, the Sikh raised over $60,000 to help the families...any Muslim or else come to help Sikhs?

  26. The best film I watched lately was Frantz which was on the BBC iplayer before the virus. It's a German-French film with subtitles in English about a French soldier who killed a German soldier during WW1 and who after the war goes to find the German soldier's fiancé to seek her forgiveness.

  27. Very true, the Sikhs in USA need as much good publicity as possible and these people are different from the Khalsa Aid gadday because they are not running off a thousand miles to feed people who already have millions raised for them. These people are helping in their local community and people that they will interact with in everyday life and not people thousands of miles away. As for Punjab, these people could do more no doubt and we all should be doing more.

  28. Unless these folks are calling down media themselves, it's hard to classify this as a PR stunt. Most of us are likely from UK and Canada, the situation is different in USA. The Sikhs there can use all the positive attention they can get. I will agree there is a lot of work to be done in Punjab, and deserves more focus. But, are we as individuals doing anything about that? Or is it just complaining that others are not. We should all donate to SOPW, Ensaaf, and YourSeva.

  31. You have just done it again! Using the term ‘thick’ to label hidden disabilities is not right for a Sikh to be using in this context. A Sikhs character should be to protect the vulnerable and stand up to the bullies, not be worried about being on the receiving end. I don’t think you have done this intentionally but I do suggest you watch ‘Forest Gump’ again and try and search for the inspirational message within. My take on it was that no matter how much Forest Gump was limited by his disability and the cards that life had dealt him, he had the hand of ‘Akaal Purkh’ protecting and providing opportunities that worked in his favour. He ironically had a ‘Chardi Kala’ spirit.

  32. Pakis are really racist, iv heard them being racist plenty of times. In School you they used to say stuff to the Black kids like " God left you in the oven for too long and forgot to take you out" " your over cooked" They were proper racist to the black kids at school. The Hadiths call Africans "raisin heads" In the Arab countries Black women are used as Sex slaves

  33. The episode I'm referring to definitely had him encouraging genocide of Indians as a response to British deaths in India. Funnily enough he was also called out on his anti-Semitism (there are a number of characters across his books that are implicitly Jewish; characters which exemplify the worst of that group's stereotypes), to which he issued a grovelling apology.

  35. Sikh woman 1870s The description with the photo is: "Just about the only place where Sikh women were visible to European eyes was the metropolitan city of Amritsar. Descriptions abound of the dress of Sikh women as being of the classic Punjabi kind – bright, colourful and garnished with plenty of jewellery. This traditional ensemble is evident in this full-length study of a Sikh lady. The chunni headscarf was worn at all times over the head as it was considered indecent to appear in public without it. This was worn with a loose kurta or long dress and an ample pair of churidar pyjama trousers tight at the ankles (although some women preferred to wear a petticoat instead). Punjabi women were particularly fond of jewellery, and a variety of ornaments made by highly skilled craftsmen were often worn from head to toe. Our subject wears bale earrings, a mala necklace and stacks of chure bangles that cover her forearms"

  36. Are you even a Sikh? This is part of our Ardas. It isn't a call for world domination. It isn't a call for jihad or mass conversions. It's saying that Khalsa will rule when no one will be opposed to our teachings and what we stand for. We have been persecuted throughout our history. Why is that an alien concept for you? Keep hitting yourself, maybe you will have some sense knocked into you.

  37. What is this about Guru Gobind Singh Ji coming back? Are we Sikhs or are we Christians?.. We are Sikhs and why would Guru Gobind Singh Ji come back? He lives in his Khalsa and in the Guru Granth Sahib! Guru Gobind Singh Ji mediated on Hemkunt Sahib and he was ordered by God to be born to Guru Tegh Bahadhur Ji and Mata Gujri to fulfill the task of becoming the 10th Guru of the Sikhs and to give birth to the Khalsa. This is written by the Guru himself in Bachittar Natak! Why would Guru Gobind Singh Ji come back? Ridiculous statement.. But I do believe Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale will be back... Because the task of gaining Sikhs their equal rights has not been fulfilled yet. Sant Sunder Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, Damdami Taksaal's 11th Jathedar, was doing Parkama of Harminder Sahib and he came to a stop on the spot where Baba Deep Singh Ji attained Shaheedi. The Sangat asked Sant Ji why they had stopped? Sant Ji replied that there will be a time when the Indian Gov't will attack Harminder Sahib and a Jathedar of the Damdami Taksaal will protect the purity of Harminder Sahib. People will think that this Jathedar has gotten Shaheeded. But during a jang, this Jathedar will come back from the Attari border, bow down before the Guru Granth Sahib at Harminder Sahib and fight to gain Sikhs their Khalsa Raaj. That Jathedar is none other than Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. Sant Ji is in CHARDI KALA so that when he comes back, he can successfully gain Sikhs their Khalsa Raaj as ordered by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

  41. You're still ram-packed full of fear aren't you. You're scared of change and the tumult that might take place in order for this to happen. Don't be. And don't be another example of a kept-docile slave singing their master's praises. Certain chaploose apnay have made a rep for themselves in this department. That's gonna blow up in our faces if we aren't careful. Make sure you and your family aren't on the wrong side of history again. I don't think you've remotely understood the bigger picture. We don't need anymore of these cheap, sellout, unethical opportunist w***ers in our panth. And if people want to still push this, we'll have an internal war. Some of these goray are facing up to their ugly past - apnay need to do the same.

  42. Well change is obviously happening. Only an <banned word filter activated> would think that it will be predictable. Like I said, certain apnay need to keep those servile slave-sepoy instincts in check.
