  1. Guru Sahib Ji’s happiness is on completion of nitnem. When starting the journey of Sikhi my ardaas was Guru Sahib please wake me up at 6am to read Japji Sahib. (I started with Japji Sahib and built up to 5 baani slowly). Guru’s blessing at 6am my eyes automatically opened wide. It continued, each day my eyes open, when I look at clock it’s bang on 6am down to the second. One day (weekend) I got lazy that I’ll sleep 5 more mins and closed my eyes. I heard a voice ‘fine stay sleeping’. Then a crushing pain on my right leg. I was screaming and biting the duvet so my family didn’t hear. Hours I couldn’t move. Finally when it felt ok to move same thing happens on my left leg ? Either it was Guru Sahib or a Shaheed Singh punishing me I’m not sure Guru Sahib really aren’t happy if nitnem is missed ?

  2. Let's say Isnaan isn't possible. What's better? Skipping Isnaan and Nitnem or having to skip Isnaan and then doing your Nitnem? Whether a flight is long or short, or whatever time it occurs, or how much Isnaan one can do, one can still use travel as an opportunity to do many hours Naam Simran or many hours Nitnem.

  4. Fools, Indira Gandhi once walked into Harmandhir Sahib and all sangat stood up apart from Sant Kartar Singh Bhindrawale. Khalsa ji simply said why are you standing up for a mere mortal when already in the presence of the King of Kings. Singhs in this video practically kissing his hands and feet

  6. to be wealthy in that situation normally means you have taken advantadge of that unjust situation just look at Ambani Adani etc also hoarded it ignoring the suffering of others . If you are honoured by unjust people that would be because you are cut of the same cloth. However, Sikhs who are truly on the path are not usually the extreme wealth bracket they are comfortable and they would never tolerate injustice even if it cost them everything . The urban wealthy sorts usually have koti niaat and are misane they usually do not hold sikhi uppermost , they will be handing out siropas to our dokhis and doing selfies with them .

  7. OK, so as far as "normal" journeys (like driving from Los Angeles to San Diego or something), there's no reason you should have to miss your Nitnem. With long airplane journeys, especially where you're crossing the international date line and multiple time zones, it might be unclear when a "new day" starts for the purposes of doing Nitnem. So as long as you make a bona fide effort to do Nitnem, I don't think you can said to have "missed" your Nitnem. But don't go the entire journey of 22-24 hours (plus holdovers) and fail to do Nitnem just because you're "on a journey." when you get a chance, just wash up and do paath.

  8. Why do some people call Dasam Granth and Sarbloh Granth Guru ji? Isn't Guru Granth Sahib Ji the guru? (I 110% believe in Dasan and Sarbloh bani)

  9. because bojo has not demanded the release of jaggi and in fact has allowed priti to reverse given sanctuary to his wife , the rss are now emboldened to demand more falsely charged sikhs as sacrifices for trade

  10. Woah, this is actually extremely sad. But the murder was in 2009, why are they doing something about it now, 11 years after?

  11. I’m on about 5 baniyan nitnem should be memorised no matter what. The rest is fine. plus I know many singhs who have panj granthi kanth, also a Singh who has akal ustat memorised. He recited naam swaas swaas and akal ustat in surti. Can you imagine the anand! You’ll find with listening people will get used to it and will be lazy to learn to read gurmukhi. In the first stages it’s alright but we should be reciting it ourselves. The best thing to do when listening is that recite it along with the Singh. Don’t just sit there listening, your mind will wonder. Only a naam abhyaasi who’s practiced the shabad can stop all thoughts and listen with ek man ek chit. This comes with practice. This is what maharaj is rehras sahib is saying is the hardest thing to do. Akhan aukha sacha naao. The required minimum is 5 baniyan this should be memorised, and if a Singh has prem for bani he will memorise the rest. plus Guru jis 52 hukams one is to get bani kant

  13. This forum usually hated on Khalsa Aid for their global work, and not discriminating against who they help. They're easily one of the most useful organizations at Singhu and Tikri right now. Certain few people here should be ashamed.

  14. Does abyone wear large (thick, chunky) sarbloh karas as opposed to the normal thin ones? Seeking sangats experiences, are there people who wear them all the time and keep them on at all times? Has anyone had any issues going through airports? Do they need to be removed if a certain size? What about at work? Whilst it doesnt matter what people think and always have to explain etc. Should there be consideration for the size of the kara?

  15. I think that happened in Delhi, where the government had organised a stage on the Shaheedi divas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Guru Granth sahib maharaj was on the stage, 1000s had gathered and when indira got on stage to do a speech all the Singhs on stage got up apart from Sant Kartar Singh Bhindranwale. When it was sant jis turn to do a speech he said the Singhs shouldn't of stood up for indira, and Sant ji said to indira that if it wasn't for Guru Jis shaheedi then she would have been standing on stage wearing a burqa today. Which is true, as indira was a Kashmiri Pandit, the very community who Guru ji gave shaheedi for.

  16. It is good to do spiritual practices, but please do no give the wrong picture of Guru Sahib wanting to punish for not getting up and do those practices. Guru Sahib is not any fascist nor any such cultist extremist to punish for not doing His bhakti. He has no such "laalach" for us to perform our devotion. Our relation with Him is of utter and unselfish love, that´s it. So what if one for some reason can not attend the regular time, it can be done at any other time, His doors are always open, there are no restrictions like school timings or work timings...or be it anything else. The Bani oftenly says: Aath pahaer aradheeyeh pooran Satgur gyan, so you see, at our physical level we are limited to many things, but, at His darbar, anytime is most welcome, provided we fulfill our daily devotion at His lotus feet. We must understand that, missing one day in our daily devotion, is the biggest penalty by itself. Singh Jee, your posts are usually inspirational, but here today I have to say, it is not correct the picture you have given of Guru Sahib, who is the embodiment of perfect and pure love, prem and mercy. That´s it.

  19. Well, let me put it this way. It all depends if you see a difference between then. Aad Guru Darbar was referred to as "Guru Granth " since time of Guru Arjan Paatshaah. The other way to look at it is this: the 10th Guru gave Gurgaddi to the Guru Khalsa Panth (once in Chamkaur, once in Nanded). Now, the Guru Khalsa Panth, being the Guru, has the authority to vest the same Guruship and authority as Aad Guru Darbar. Just as Guru Nanak Maharaj wrote Jap Ji, in their 10th form they wrote Jaap Sahib. Same thing, no difference. Lastly, respecting Dasam and Sarbloh like this takes nothing away from the respect and worship of the Aad Guru Darbar. Akaal.

  20. There is nothing wrong with any Sikh organisation or Gurdwara helping the local community when situations occur where people need help. It is when KA run off the out of the way areas where there is no Sikh community and expend Sangat's money. The Rohingya issue was a case in point, charirties received millions in donations for western countries andf govts and kA just duplicated their work. What KA is doing in Delhi is good but it would be also better if the spent their resources to look after the families of farmers who committed suicide as well as offering financial counselling to stop farmers from getting into debt.

  22. Aad, Dasam and Sarbloh Guru Granth Sahib Ji, three separate Granths, are all treated the same by the Khalsa. Aad Guru Darbar is the (Tikka) Guru, and Dasam and Sarbloh, being the baani of 10th Guru, are given the same respect/worship.

  23. Got it from Valmiki Ramayan. I have never heard a kathavachak call Ravan the good guy! Not quite sure how a individual that kidnapped another mans wife can be called the "good guy" Dasam bani says that of you go with another mans wife then you will die the death of a dog, and look how Ravan died ... Ravan was a tyrant king, the whole reason Raam came down to earth was to destroy Ravan. Just how the Man/Lion avtar came down to destroy Prahlads father and how Krishna came to destroy Kans and other tyrants.
