  1. I honestly pray for the day where we rid ourselves from these labels and divisions that are between us. We need to move like a nation. We have separated ourselves by putting importance on worldly titles/ethnicity that have no real significance when we should only align ourselves with the panth and our beautiful nishan sahib. Our biggest enemies is ourselves.

  2. You've done the typical Sikh thing of going 100mph when 30mph was enough. It's all or nothing. The places where you're getting your information from are the same places that are crying that Islam is a religion of peace. Am I condoning genocide? No. Am I suggesting the Buddhists made the right choice in how hard they hit? No. Islam is best nipped in the bud EARLY before they've embedded themselves in the institutions of a nation. They understand nothing but force. Any romanticised notions of conciliation or coexistence is eking out the inevitable. Depending on where you live and how old you are, you'll come to realise this as it relates to your own existence. By then it will be too late, and you'll, if you're honest, view the Buddhists with a little more understanding. To the victor goes the spoils. Survival of the fittest. If we ever have our own nation, and an upstart sect begins to cause trouble for your Sikh state with good reason from their perspective, will you, as a Sikh general, fail to leave the house that morning and hope they simmer down of their own accord? Or will you put them down to send a message? I know what I'd do, and it doesn't involve hypocrisy and double standards.

  4. I definitely feel like a switch back is possibly going to happen. Considering that the younger generation (who are into Sikhi) are interested in puratan traditions when compared to the older generation. I personally like both, however, I would love to revert to our original one given the fact that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj sanctioned that one and used it. Additionally, I would also love to see us revert back to our original colors of blue and yellow.

  5. A middle aged sikh man was a nanaksar follower. He found getting up at amritvela very tough. Whenever he did paath, he used to feel lazy and sleepy. Sometime back, he got in touch with Budha dal and started wearing blue banaa and dumalla and suddenly all his laziness has gone away and he now easily gets up at amritvela. He says that wearing the Baana, he feels that he is protected by Satguru all the time. Dhan Satguru! Dhan Satguru da Baanaa!

  6. Sikh "scholars" and "parchariks" to look out for, who distort Sikh philosophy, beliefs etc missionaries, feminists, "woke" Sikhs anyone who we should be aware of. Haven't really looked into her work but some lady named Nikky-Kaur-Singh ?? think she is a writer, said that "Kabir's opinion of women is contemptuous and derogatory" basically calling Bhagat Ji a misogynist. Anyone know more about this lady? Another one is Katy Sian. She is Anti-Sikh, especially Anti Sikh men, and a Muslim/islamic apologist. Everyone knows about Neki Karminder Singh Dhillon from Malaysia is another one.

  7. I love watching bushcraft videos on youtube. Khalsa always remains ready for war. All the nations and all the civilizations rise and fall. So isn't it helpful and useful to learn bushcraft?

  9. Abrahamic ideologies being of the desert and tribal has a framework of a scarcity mentality so sharing has no basis in their mindset. A Dharmic philosophy is based by in large of an abundance mentality. It is the mentality of the forest where there is more than enough to go ahead therefore co-existence is possible.

  11. Doesn't change the fact that Cali guys talk like blacks. Canada isn't tiny either, we have quadruple the Sikh population. Bro, you need to focus on your own Sikhi, you come off completely negative and bitter.

  13. A lot of kisaans from Punjab have been getting more into Sikhi from some of whatI have seen as a result of the protests whether or not they see it as just about their livelihood, some are definitely seeing it as an attack by the govt, indirectly, towards Sikhs

  15. Something I liked mentioned on the museum site was that the Khanda and Nishan Sahib change and nothing is keeping it from changing again in a new or old direction. Seems like there is a lot of support here for the Purtan Nishan Sahib.

  18. Wow! Lots of pics: I think it was first coat of arms and then slowly evolved to chakar with a khanda in the middle with variations as time went on

  19. The modern Khanda as we see it today was influenced by the Brits. It is put together in a similar way you see the goreh put their coat of arms. The traditional way was separate. I think the poster Not2Cool2Argue has it on his moniker.

  20. Problem is they don't understand what is being said, basically the concept of Waheguru being the man and us the human beings(men/women) are the women, just flies over their heads.

  22. Those are 2 very different scenarios. If she's in a relationship with a non-Sikh out of her own choice, then there isn't much you can do about it. I'd personally disown her and tell her to go away and get on with her own life. Now if a female has been tricked that's a completely different thing. No woman in my family has married or been with a non-Sikh.

  24. sexist mexist. Bhagat ji's bani was not made to satisfy these heretics. The smart person follows what his bani says, take it as infallible life instructions and receive the gift of Naam. The stupid fool reads his bani, starts arguing on its content, tries to show the world how smart they are and damns themselves and everyone who follows them to the cycle of rebirth.
