  2. 'Akhin ghatta muh vich datta' is a very powerful shabad. To know more about this shabad plz watch Gurmeet Singh Shaant is a very popular raagi and kirtaniya. His contact no. is +919356052567 He told me that sometime back he had a domestic flight from Indore to Delhi. He was wearing 1 ft. kirpan which he forgot to keep in his luggage suitcase. When he was near the final security check up, he realized he was still wearing his kirpan. He closed his eyes and started repeating 'akhin ghatta moon vich datta' shabad in his mind and started saying 'dhan Guru Nanak' from his mouth and the security official was unable to detect his kirpan and he travelled from Indore to Delhi wearing his 1 ft. kirpan

  6. Be real eye opening to see where all the money comes from, and what it is spent on in a number of organizations.

  7. I don't really want to get into this type of debate but i think the problem was not that it was a 1.4 mil house but instead the possibility that the money donated to blm is possibly being used by them

  8. Charities rarely help the people they claim to help. The money you provide goes to the administration costs and salaries of the charities. The question is how the money is being allocated and is it being effective in the way it is being spent I personally think instead of whining about poor Sikhs in India we should find a more effective way. Why don't we choose a poor Sikh kid and sponsor them for their education. Help them with books, school uniforms etc, school fees etc. Poor Sikhs like many of us Sikhs can be quite stubborn to ask for help. We have to help them in the right way not just give handouts.

  9. Amen Bhenji. If we focus on Gursikhi only sometimes that seems left or right but it's just it's own thing.

  10. These woke people will also be curtailing gun rights which may lead to restrictions on kirpaans. And woke ppl support beadbi like inter religious and gay marriages. And may enforce them on religions. Like dally said, its best not to choose sides btw right and left. Best if we played both sides. So its good if we have sikhs on both sides as long as they dont bring those political divides btw sikhs

  11. If this was true why would Gangu be employed as a cook in Guru Gobind Singh ji's house. This Jhoota food is Bhamanvaad creeping into Sikhi.

  12. Seriously, if it were legal for me to own guns I'd have like at least 20. I don't know what it is with a lot of US Sikhs that they don't arm and defend themselves, when it's your 'constitutional right' (as the whites keep going on about!) Plus it's proper inline with Sikhi???? I mean if you're a taxi driver (given how many of them have got attacked over the years as Bin Ladens), and you had half a brain, you'd have concealed weapons license at the very least.

  13. If that's the case say that and maybe it can be discerned. Fiscal transparency across the board for everybody. But that wasn't said explicitly nor substantiated. Conveniently allows it to be inferred if one wishes. May not be the case at all. See how that works?

  18. I am surprised with the OP, especially with the amount of great content they share on this forum. Like @GurjantGnostic stated above, $1.4 mil isn't exactly out of reach these days. That's the average home price of many Punjabi families living in the Lower Mainland here is BC ( even with Usd to Cdn conversion!). A Black lady bought a house that looks like a barn and put a fence up...and the media treats it newsworthy. We definitely don't need to support this racist journalism.

  19. I don’t think it’s a bani as such. Here bhai sahib say guru ji were asked how arrows fly in battle, how the drum of victory plays, how neela (blue horse) gallops. It’s big shame the only thing people remember 10th Guru Sahib for is they are master warrior. They are also master of raag, arts, poetry etc. The most compassionate father and so much more we never consider Based on my imagination and artistic license? perhaps instead of giving a long descriptive answer guru sahib could have picked up their instruments and answered the questions via more creative way of singing. Like Bhai sahib say in video the composition creates the impression as if arrows were flying, drums beating, horse galloping. Leaving the listener quite mesmerised. Then maybe this tuk is documented in some historic account or diaries even? I mean just imagine Guru Sahib sitting on their throne and being in their mouj ?? like it could have been a group of children who ran to guru sahib to ask about how battle happens.

  20. Exactly these are the ones im talking amount the amount of beadbi that come from them, they will be like they will bring our Gurus and they're wokeness into same light... .. We are literally a minority of a minority...we don't even have that much of an impact on West let alone Global politics...Should just be neutral focus on or community and spreading Sikhi..Same way we get caught up between India - Pakistan Hinduvstas vs islamists....just stay at bay...I cant stand when you have groups like 'Sikhs for Trump' or 'Sikhs for biden'..super cringe ..You can chose to be left or right politics but Sikhi is beyond politics We really are lacking leadership in our kaum today

  21. That's why we need to become self-sufficient and start looking at ways to rich our community. Only then we can have bigger impact and help ours in need, like creating jobs, help Sikhs in poverty...we need long-term sustainable solutions...Wealth = freedom...or the money collected should be invested to make more money...

  22. There is no judgment as such. Your thoughts beliefs and actions will determine your destination in the afterlife. So if you don't believe in God your soul may be dissolved as some are saying that there is nothing after this life (atheists) so that is what they will experience. If you believe in Allah and 72 virgins that is what you will also experience in this 'heaven' though it is illusion as the body is left in the 3rd dimension after death. As for LBGTQ the same will apply to them. If they are Christian and believe in Jebus and the bible then their soul will suffer if they believe they have committed sin as they are going against their conscience. To avoid that they must follow the teachings of the Bible and refrain from infringing in acts deemed sinful. The same goes for Muslims. It is only in Sanathan Dharma where you are responsible for your own destiny by your actions you can remove your sins through meditation and Kundalini Awakening achieved by various means. Having experienced this myself I can say that the experience is totally fulfilling in that you become disinterested in worldly matters as your are filled with love for all and become needless. However as certain powers are threatened by this they will act to stop this process leaving you in the state before this experience. However I have also been reading that you can recite Naam (the name of your God) to invoke that energy to help you to go to your next abode and escape the cycle of reincarnation as once you have exhausted your good karmas you are destined to reincarnate unless you do so. But again it would depend in your individual belief.

  23. As far as I was taught it is the indicator of the central message or message groups of the shabad , the two line pangti which is usually a question /answer or problem/ solution pairing that is why it is used as the asthai in kirtan . When doing paat we say rahao as well to help listener grasp the message . Many people think that they can do partial asthai or use a different part of the shabad as the asthai and that is wrong and goes against gurmat sangeet parampara; raag and asthaai rules are vital to follow else the sangat grabs wrong idea .

  24. The lines before Rahao is telling reader to think what they read then next line explains it using examples or can expand for reader/ listeners. "Mere Madho ji, sadhsangt mile so triaa; Gurpursad Parm padh paya, sooki caast k hria. Rahao. "What's my mind (Madho) informing me? Sadhsangat is where blessings are obtained? I will be lushed with Evergreen by joining Sadhsangat?" Following pangti explains nobody else will be there for you. It is the Lord who provides all nourishment to his Creatures. Now, we're tangled in a world "I must work 8-10 hours to pay for food and bills for my fam" YES! YOU MUST because it's duty. But did you go Sadhsangat morning, afternoon or evening? (Gurudwara open up to Sangat 4am onwards) "Morning I saw my kids off to school and evening I had to get them so n so... Then relatives were coming by evening..." Unfortunately, the mind jumps from one place to another so one cannot be Everlushed with greenery (calm, peaceful). Let's see other ways to keep the mind everlushed; meditation, exercise, yoga, cycling... But Maharaaj is stating Sadhsangat. Sadhsangat hits two targets with one stone. You get everlush AND you get in tune with the Lord. NOTHING / NOBODY else can do it like Sangat.

  25. It can also point to the tek or asthaai which is the main line or first lines in music lyrics. I dont know the english word for it: the chorus line? The one that is repeated before every stanza? So it can tell us which pangti is to be the chorus line ( if thats the right word) when singing the shabad. It is usually also the main idea or topic of a shabad as Gnostic said. Or if the shabad is full of questions and examples, it will be the answer and main point.

  26. You guys are criticizing Sikh charity organizations for helping out people who are not Sikhs. But here is what you fail to realize: if those organizations focused strictly on Sikhs, they would raise only a tiny fraction of the money that they currently are able to raise (in particular, they would raise much less money from Sikhs than they currently raise). When an organization is seen to be helping all kinds of people, it makes others want to donate to it. When it is seen to be helping only Sikhs, it is viewed as a fringe organization supporting fringe causes. Anyway, regardless of the choices that various charity organizations make, the amount of benefit to the Sikh community would end up being the same. It is what it is.

  29. The Lower Mainland gang violence disproportionately involves (Canadian-born) Punjabis. Most of the gangland killings involve Punjabis killing other Punjabis. The police considers them mostly low-level guys who can’t control themselves, unlike the sophisticated Asian and Biker gangs that work silently but control most of the networks. It’s saddening to see another dead young brown kid every second week. It has nothing to do with bullying or racism, or other any economic reasons. They come from our typical well-off Punjabi households with immigrant parents who have worked hard to realize the western dream, but not worked hard on giving some authentic life values to the kids. Only value is money, not even education. Compared to other diaspora commounitues in the US and UK, Lower Mainland/BC kids are under-achievers academically. If you’ve been through the post-secondary education system here, it’s clear that our community’s kids lag far behind. The community simply doesn’t value or push their kids enough. Instead, the kids are spoiled growing up with an all-expense-paid upbringing with no clear motivation to accomplish anything in life, except for “making money”. In a nuthshell, we are so well off on the West Coast here in BC that we simply don’t know what to do with it. The downfall of the Sikh Raj analogy shows some parallels.

  30. Very sorry to hear that, you don’t want to keep all these feelings inside. Please do talk to someone you trust and can confide in. Do try to take sometime and do or listen to some paath for some peace. Also, maybe also try to talk to your husband about how you are currently feeling and possible counselling?

  31. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh Very good of you finding yourself on the path to follow sikhi. You have a lot to learn and one thing i would suggest you is not to reach to conclusion swiftly until you actually spent time researching/reading texts (not google search). Read the basic Rehat Maryada and if you find your soul clashing with its content and disagreee with it then you should wait and not hurry up. Study study study...

The main guy, Mana Singh was barely there for have of the sessions they had and there were a few guys on there who showed up for every session but didn't know how to read. Sodhak Committee was just a publicity statement, guys didn't do any proper research.

  33. Unfortunately in this forum, some of us been posting about this issues for a while.... I don't mind if you want to help others, but then stop operating under 'Sikh charities' when Sikhi is not your first and only priority. Its become business model....if we had the money power like others do by all means help all we can ...we dont! Even if you want to help others, they just go too far too much simping Last week i saw video on fb of Mid-30s Granthi passed away and his 3 kids under age 5, youngest aged 2 screaming 'daddy daddy', he was the only source of income and they come from very poor background. Broke my heart million pieces, just really angers me why we cant help our own...too many charlatans in our kaum... When you telling apne how important it is to build your own wealth, wealth = freedom (whether you agree or disagree but learning few notes from Jews wouldn't be a bad idea,) you get called Anti-Sikh, and brainwashed by dil-saaf far left 'Sikhs' who think its all just rainbows and unicorns, and ramble on about 'Colonization' etc.. Just a sad state of affairs
