  6. When I was younger I was taught that Haryana was actually a part of Panjab that Hindus carved away during the Punjabi Suba movement. If so, are these people actually Panjabi peasants who've disowned their heritage, but now they are getting shafted by the gorment, want to come running back?

  7. I know a Rajhstan Jatt family. Very, very spiritually high. Both aunt n uncle are truly amazing; seva, kirth, schii kmai, annual Sukhmani Sahib at house, annual langar seva. Sikh history knowledge second to none. Extremely welcoming and warming folks they are.

  8. When you look at it, it seriously just seems like textbook sociopathy. And it goes in all directions. I've seen apnay help less fortunate relatives, but their whole demeanor and attitude when doing this is so low key haughty and condescending (and you can tell that they are loving every minute of the 'power'!). This would make anyone on the receiving end feel demeaned and sick to the stomach. I think the other party bites their lip temporarily out of 'mujboori', and whilst the giver fills themselves with narcissistic notions of how great and compassionate they are, the other side builds up white-hot seething resentment - which in the fullness of time turns into hatred. So you are right, help has to be given in the right way, with the right attitude, or it backfires. Many of us are proud people, we might stomach going without, but being on the receiving end of mentally degrading, supercilious behaviour by people who are going on like they are doing you a favour can have the worst effects. I think when it comes to giving opportunities with employment the above is the key factor. This goes on a lot and I think that's why most desi firms don't grow. They'll f**k each other over but bum1ick a baharlaa bundha; probably because they see the apna as potential competition, and the barharlaa bundhaa as a potential contact for progression. I don't believe your on the mark here, I've seen guys who've been helped to establish themselves, then sh1t on people who come up after him. They haven't followed the model of the people who helped them. I just think the whole Panjabi culture is built on very fragile egos, and anything to big yourself up like a to55er goes, most especially off the backs of your own. Crabs in a bucket.

  9. Have no idea but interesting topic Haryanavis have culturally more in common with Punjabis so maybe that's a reason why, as well as more contact with Sikh

  10. Vaheguru ji ka khalsa Vaheguru ji ki fateh Khalsa ji, always remember we are all beings of the Same Creator who resides in all of us.Do not have hatred or any grudge on people. What makes our blood boil is the actions, not the race or religion of someone. We are all His Beings.Always remember Bhagat Kabir Ji and Bhagat Fareed Ji were Muslim.Bhai Mardana was Muslim. Many Muslims and Hindus also joined the Khalsa Panth during Guru Sahib's time despite knowing that our battle was against Mughal Empire and Hill Rajas(Hindus). Our battle is never against any religion or race. Our battle is the fight for truth and justice. The fight against tyranny. The fight against their actions. Not their souls. By discriminating others we are having Hankar and putting ourselves above them.We are all equal. We are all Vaheguru's Creation. Aval Allah Noor Oupaaeiaa Kudrath Kae Sabh Bande First,Allah created the Light;then by His Creative Power,He made all mortal beings. Ek Noor Thae Sabh Jag Oupajiaa Kaun Bhale Ko Mandhae From the One Light, the entire universe welled up.So who is good, and who is bad? Bhul Chuk Maf ?

  11. Going to add this so people know what type of antagonism Sikhs faced under Aurenga and Wazir. Here a Sikh dharamsala is destroyed and converted into a maseet.

  12. Agreed these Jaats are on the rougher end of the Jat spectrum but their interest in Sikhi seems genuine. Like Sikhs Jats they also have a perception of themselves as a people rather than a caste and as such they feel greater solidarity for all Jats then say a Dalit in Haryana would have with a Dalit in Punjab. This solidarity as well as the desire to progress economically and politically is what is pulling them towards Sikhi. Their role in the pre-1966 Punjab was not anti-Punjabi, they did not disown Punjabi like the Punjabi Hindus, their language was always Bagri and Haryanvi which were classed as Western Hindustani in British times and as dialects of Hindi after 1947. Bagri has in the last decade has been classed as a dialect of Punjabi and hence this has led to Punjabi becoming a majority in some parts of northern Haryana such as Fatehabad district. So your accusation is not true. There is absolutely nothing wrong in the mass conversion of a people for economical or political reasons. This is how all religions have progressed historically. Conversion through conviction only occurs in individuals or small groups. If the mass conversion occurs for economic or political reasons then within just one generation the new religion becomes so ingrained that it is unlikely that they would ever revert back to their old religion.

  15. Fact is Sikhs aren't a threat or bother to anyone. The other kids just need to keep their hands and other things to themselves and if they don't we hold the parents responsible. Sooner the parents keep their children on leashes or better yet raise them right, sooner we can all just chilll.
