  2. https://www.sikhhelpline.com/bullying-the-tragic-story-of-a-sikh-boy/ The Tragic Story Of A 13 Year Boy – Bullying Kills! superadmin 15th July 2014 bullying Monday: my money was taken. Tuesday: names called. Wednesday: my uniform torn. Thursday: my body pouring with blood. Friday: it’s ended. Saturday: freedom. These are the final diary pages of Vijay Singh. Read his true story…. One in ten students said that they had suffered severe bullying which included physical violence. Most of them felt they cannot share their problems and the consistent bullying they faced drove them to depression and misery. Vijay Singh was a bright 13-year-old boy from Manchester. This child was tormented; his life made a misery and it drove him to taking his life. The reason why this happened was because of intolerance, racism and bullying. Vijay Singh attended predominantly a white school. Most children did not have an understanding of why Vijay Singh wore a turban. Racist boys at school would beat up young Vijay Singh, when going to school, in school and going home. He was half their size, but size did not matter. They would knock his turban off and punch his eyes, so what if he cried they thought. Vijay Singh good grades made these unintelligent racist children, jealous. They would taunt him, and call him names. Paki! Turban-head! Wrap head ! His lunch would be stolen. The boys would swing their fist in his nose. Bleeding Paki! Bloody Paki! , they would say. Not knowing the pain they caused when his nose went crunch . Blood pouring down young Vijay Singh shirt. They grabbed his arms, and would push him into to the wall. They would hit him, Punch! Crunch! and he would fall to the ground. They didn’t care how he felt or why he had a turban on his head. Kick! Spit! they would watch him crawling, crying for help. The bullies would walk away leaving young Vijay Singh crying out for help. The School lessons would begin. For most children lessons were normal, a laugh a giggle as well doing work. However for Vijay Singh this was like a prison cell at the school from hell. He would sit in the class with his blood stained clothes. Tears would roll down his eyes, and he had a sour broken nose. However the bullies didn’t stop their taunting. They could not feel the pain or see why he should not deserve it. He was brown, he wore a turban, and wasn’t normal. He wasn’t normal. What is normal? Is everyone single person the same? Someone is clever, someone is good with their hands, someone is fat, or slim and someone is tall or small. We are not all normal. Our abnormality makes us individual, and it represents our background, identity and what we stand are. No teacher saw this bullying happening. No teacher saw the signs of bullying. No teacher said to this kid, don?t worry, No one said, you are a Sikh, and you are brave and strong…….. No one knew young Vijay Singh plans, of what he had been thinking and going over his mind almost certainly. He opens the door, slams it shut. Runs up the stairs, for freedom calls He escapes from his body walls , and is free at last from the horrific violence, which he had suffered silently. Vijay Singh was found hanging from the banister rail at his home on one Sunday in 1996. This was the silent death of an innocent child who was tormented, and mentally and physically tortured. Where his life ended, we begin, to understand the effects of bullying. Did you know? 50% of people have been bullied in school. Bullying causes psychiatric injury, a feature of which is reactive depression. At least 16 children commit bullycide in the UK every year . Many Sikh children have been the subject of racial abuse because they look different. Read his poem below…… Racism also manifests itself in teachers failing to take racist bullying seriously, even after tragedies such as the suicide of schoolboy Vijay Singh. There are still a huge number of cases of racist bullying, which have been dealt with improperly. The Sikh Helpline were made aware of a case where a secondary school pupil was attacked by a number of other pupils, leaving him with a broken arm. His assailants were left unpunished and continue to verbally and physically abuse him. To maintain order, he has been excluded from socialising at school and has received complaints from teachers for highlighting inadequacies in his treatment.? THE BULLY Poem ….. Dedicated to Vijay Singh, aged 13, who hung himself at home in Manchester, after being bullied at school. Vijay Singh 13 yrs old “Racist ruffian, low-down scum Foul mouthed thug do you think its fun To beat up a kid who’s half your size? Knock his turban and punch his eyes He gets good grades and it makes you sick turban-head’s clever and you’re so thick. You push and punch and steal his lunch You swing your fist his nose goes crunch Bleeding Paki! Bloody Paki! Swear a lot then steal his money Grab his arms – push him to the wall Punch! Crunch! He takes the fall Kick! Spit! Watch him crawl Walk away from his crying call. Lessons start at the school from hell Classroom’s more like a prison cell Sitting in his blood stained clothes Tears in his eyes and a busted nose Bully boys don’t stop their taunting No teacher saw his daily haunting No teacher said you’re a lion Singh Be BRAVE, be STRONG but never give in School bell rings:”Bye-Bye friends I ain’t coming to hell again!” Running home as fast as he can No one knows his secret plan Up the stairs for freedom call He escapes from his body walls Free at last from the violence Hangs himself in deathly silence. Where he ends we begin Bullies won’t kill another Singh Unite as CHILDREN make the change Don’t let things stay the same We want freedom – no more crime We want freedom all the time No more Singhs will die this way Unite as CHILDREN – fight them today! CHILDREN UNITE IT’S TIME TO FIGHT THE BULLY BOYS THE RACIST NOISE DON’T LIVE IN DREAD TELL THE TEACHER INSTEAD YOU’RE NOT ALONE LET YOUR TROUBLES BE KNOWN” At least 1 Sikh student has committed suicide in the UK because of racial abuse. This issue of racial abuse is present amongst all communities and can affect anyone regardless of religion, colour, caste or creed. 3. Don't be despondent like that. We've had much worse periods in our history and still came through them. Like I said before, we need a significant cultural shift on multiple dimensions. Ain't worth giving up until we've tried this to the utmost of our ability. It's time we grow out of the simplistic, rural simpleton identity and stop promoting it like it is something good. It's not going to cut it in the 21st century. I've met desis who are completely disillusioned with 'Sikhs' back home. They've said to me that if any significant change is coming to Sikhs, it won't be coming from Panjabi ones but from outside i.e. diaspora Sikhs. Keep your head up. The last thing we need is hopelessness.

  4. Amen to all that bro. Amen to that too. Amen to that too. And, those Gurudwara are also run by money and democracy. Reiterate @dallysingh101 we have to start parallel ground level movements. I would add to that, do away with voting and institute representative selections and Panj Pyare, and demonitize as much of the Panth as we can, and instead deal in Seva. We only need so many buildings, and we could substitute rural land holdings for half the ones we do have already. The buildings only have to be so nice. And Langar only costs so much. It should not take much money to run a Gurudwara, and even when dealing in less cash than now, we should be able to use that smaller amount of money and still afford to pay Granthis and others for their fulltime services. Bungas basically pay for themselves, since people have to pay rent somewhere anyway. What's more important is what we can provide for each other through collaboration. Secondary to all that is what we can do for the world, life itself, others. We cannot draw a circle around ourselves, nor can we bend over backwards serving others while we ignore our own house.

  5. One man out of a tiny minority within a slightly bigger minority, lol. Time to accept that perhaps it's over from a collective perspective, and consider individual efforts for personal spiritual advancement? I continue repeating myself but India-based Sikhs are a lost cause. They're gone. They have two modes: either total Punjabiyat crassness and hedonism, or adherence to a surface level Sikhi that hasn't penetrated their inner selves. That's it. Those who buck these trends don't have enough numbers to make a difference.

  6. Bhai jagraj singh was western too and i think he had much more impact within the past few years than any of the sgpc people. We have bad apples too but then we have enough good apples who can help our community in numerous ways. SGPC and people back home are just sleeping. One problem with us is we do not know how to relate to non sikhs and i dont know why this is.

  7. 1st of off RIP to the farmers that lost thier lives. Hope those politicians get what the deserve Now now Now. To reply back to the Punjabi Hindu bashing on here which quite frankly is slander on the whole HP community(which we dont have to be fair lol)I shall address the issues on this thread In bullet point form as I will end up writing an whole essay lol. 1st off as some of you may or may not know I am from a Hindu Punjabi background but follow Sikhi more closely. I do not consider myself on non sikh. They(HP) dont speak our language follow our culture.? hmmm really? myself parents grandparents, relatives speak Punjabi. I know other Hindu Punjabi's that speak Punjabi . Despite being born and raised in Wolverhampton I speak really good Punjabi . I know some sikhs that cant even understand never mind speak Punjabi and those Sikhs have questioned me why I believe in Sikhsim when I am Hindu LOL. The notion that Punjabi Hindus speak Hindi over Punjabi is false. they maybe some that do i am not denying that but certainly not all of us. Culture wise we follow Punjabi culture . They have done as much harm to us as muslims. No they Indian gov has not Hindu as whole. Many Hindus support justice for 1984 and stand with the farmers. my cousin regularly goes to the rallies in Canada. He posts supportive posts towards the farmers . he has even got called a Khalistani by some good goon in UP. Even Muslims are supportive of Sikhs so lets not hate on them aswell. Punjabi hindus are so dumb . I used to live in punjab and they would believe in every self styled godman in town as if they were gods lol what a joke. allow with the insults man lol. most people across India not just Punjab have a harder life then we so in the west. so any hope they have they latch onto it . these fake godman , baba's know this and exploit these people for their own gain. Hope is such a powerful thing we crave it. My mum told me, that after 84, the hindus in the pind who they'd been friends like family basically would tease them saying things like 'hahah our mother (indra) killed your father (Sant ji) etc They would hand our ladoos and dance. now that just disgraceful. But again not all HP thought that way. many stood by Sikhs from what my mum told me. Indira was a terrorist simple as that. people that call her mother need shooting. I think people in India (not all) to tend to have closed mentality and dont think logically/rationally like we have do in the west hence why things in India seem so uncivil. India isa very nice country with great landscape nature and wildlife. The people of India dont deserve India. I think British Indian's would do justice to India. so to rap this up when i started this post I was really pissed off but towards the end I started to understand some the points made . But the fact is even if the majority of Hindu Punjabi's are closed minded sheep not all them are and if you think that way your just as bad.. Sarbat Da Bhala

  8. I think you’ve zeroed in on the bullseye there. If you look at all of our current anxieties and problems, the root is stagnation of effort and inability to constantly adapt and recalibrate our strategies. We keep trying to do the same thing and expect same outcome while those at the forefront of power have moved miles ahead. Same type of parchar methods aimed at uneducated rural folks. Non utilization of Gurdwara institution for village level learning. Why are sikh parents in punjab aspiring to send their kids to convent or DAV schools when the Gurdwara should be the center of learning? You see the same in agriculture. People keep planting the same devastating crops, which the markets don’t even want due to excess production, and howl and complain when the inevitable happens. Then we complain that Punjabi hindus control the cities. Well, they get educated and join the market driven economy and prosper, while our village kids pursue an entitled fairy-tale lifestyle with devastating consequences. It’s a cold harsh truth, all the more evident when these same kids make it to the west and start pursing the exact thing they scoff at back home….hard work. I’m often reminded of Dashmesh Pita’s hukam to the sangat for the best in weapons and horses. The best in literary pursuits, the best in war strategy. Guruji made efforts to make their founded cities as economic hubs by building simple structures for shopkeepers and even providing start-up capital for trades people. They had an excellent collections system to fund the fauj. A system pointing to long term prosperity and security, even if requiring immediate sacrifice. We just need to stop falling behind now and wake up to where the world is, especially our people in Punjab. It’s all doable stuff. Like @dallysingh101 you've pointed out, we’ve made it through far worse periods. We should be at the forefront of weapons technology, economic models, social policy.

  10. I think one big factor (at least) might be that we've tied it into Panjabi identity and not extrapolated the universal aspects of it? Language/linguistic skills are also an issue. Also, let's keep it real. In terms of what outsiders would call a preacher (or us a parchaarak), our lot (in comparative terms), have these really unanimated, dry, boring personalities compared to others. That's probably another factor why so many people felt Bhai Jagraj Singh, he wasn't like that. I think a lot of Americans would actually like Sikhi, especially because of Sikhi's pro-weapons stance, and right to self defence and history of challenging oppressive, powerful governments. But if we promote this, and the apnay they encounter don't match the description and start showing sycophantic tendencies.......well.....they'll only see them as lesser beings (understandably).

  11. The problem with us is our roots have become very weak because the previous generations did not pass on sikhi at all. I mean i see people who come to canada from villages in punjab and you can barely see any sikhi in them. I sometimes have no hope in them passing on sikhi to their kids who will be born here. My parents barely taught me anything about sikhi just made me memorise paath and told some stories. But sikhi is spritiual and cannot just be understood by memorizing paath. We need to understand what the paath that we are saying everyday means. What it is telling us and how to implement it in our lives. Thats where we fail because the parents dont know anything and only teach surface level stuff to kids who then think its all about rituals. We dont have strong roots anymore. Sikhi is not as easy as just believe in jesus and you are saved. You have to keep learning and evolving and understanding throughout your life. But when majority of these people are not emotionally intelligent you cant really expect them to be strong in sikhi because they barely understand it. I see my own aunt(father's sister) who barely teaches her kids anything about sikhi. When they were young she would make them memorize paath, telling names of gurus and stories( which is not bad) but the kids barely know what the paath that they say everyday means. And to top it all of my aunt herself probably doesnt understand what the paath says because her behavior is so anti sikh like including being obsessed with money, parent's property show off, drinking wine and thinking you are modern. Its so sad and is quite evident that she does not understand an iota of sikhi although she does read paath from gutka everyday. They have made it into rituals where you just read paath and god will help you. They dont understand anything. Im sometimes worried about my cousins because they live in alabama and im worried about them being targetted by those southern Christians. They are young right now like just teenagers and impressionable. Anytime i tell my aunt that what she does is againt sikhi they all laugh at me and say I'm too serious. how can you expect anything from such people?

  13. I was just thinking the other day how democracy in uneducated countries always backfires on minorities because the uneducated majority will always decide who will rule everyone. I mean if you have 1 intelligent person and 99 fools those 99 fools will decide the fate of everyone. How is this good in any way?

  14. The strong rule the weak, and the intelligent rule the strong. Our lot clinging to some simplistic, rural idyllic fantasy doesn't help. Like I've said previously, we need a serious cultural shift, that will take a few generations. In the meanwhile we have to protect what we have and not slip further downwards.

  15. Khalsa of Guru Sahib's period were most likely less muscular than the Singhs in the picture above. The above are gym muscles, particularly the delts that are on display. We've seen pictures of Nihangs during the period of the British Raj, and they look very lean. I doubt there was much, if any, change in their appearance from colonial times to a hundred or so years later. We tend to idealise physical musculature, but the vast majority of Singhs who saw actual combat with the Khalsa didn't look like your typical "chicken, broccoli, and rice" cover models that we see today. That doesn't mean they weren't strong and capable.

  16. Get rubber mats on the floor to protect your joints and to keep what's usually the coldness from a concrete floor from getting to you in the winter. As for insulation and heating, don't be a poofta. If you're training hard as you should be, you'll be warmed up and sweating in 10-15 mins. Wear a sweatshirt in the winter if it helps.

  17. I understand extinction, but is there really an extinction of bees? Are rare birds really dying? Is plastic really UK can no longer use because of the atrocious disposable methods? Must we preserve anything made from wood? Before we fall into rarity and the no longer existence business, just know Guru Sahib states "Aasn loi loi Bandaar, jo kich paia so ika vaar." Akaal Purkh has put forth his immeasurable treasure once on Earth. So what is immeasurable telling us? It means Bees, trees and rare birds will ALWAYS be in numerous numbers. We humans have a duty to preserve, recycle and look after nature. But just know this, there will ALWAYS be immeasurable amounts of Akaal Purkh's created treasures. Let's see an example. Seen that expensive car lately? Cost in thousands? Or millions? And what are the three functions for the car to run? Fuel, air and water. How long have these three been around on the planet? Electric items too were being used. Thunderstorms brought electricity in the very first place (thanks Einstein). So we have a duty to preserve, protect and look after but just know human race will run out BEFORE resources run out.

  21. Indian born sikhs are too damn materialistic and only think about money. They dont even care about their daughters marrying non sikhs. There was a documentary on youtube showing a sikh women married to a hindu and how she could not raise her child to be like a khalsa and lo and behold it had so many dislikes from hindus saying how this is anti hindu blah blah sikhs and hindus are same. Problem with indian born sikhs is they are too brainwashed into believing that they and hindus are the same so they dont see anything wrong in following anti sikh rituals or ending sikhi in their bloodline through marrying out. Fools i would say. Imagine having the gift of being born into sikhi and then throwing it away. I hate how hindus have to insert themselves into everything related to sikhs. We cant even make documentaries about our religion to teach our youth without these people always trying to tell us what is wrong and right.

  25. Wayne Couzens 'molested drag queen at a bar near his home and said "I'm an officer" as he demanded dark alley sex' three years before raping and murdering Sarah Everard A drag queen has accused Wayne Couzens of sexually assaulting him in a pub The alleged incident reportedly occurred at the New Inn pub in Kent in 2018 Couzens, 48, allegedly touched his backside and propositioned him to have sex It is the latest in a slew of allegations against the Metropolitan Police officer Couzens was handed a life sentence for the rape and murder of Sarah Everard Wayne Couzens, the police officer who has been handed a life sentence Sarah Everard, is reportedly facing a new probe over allegedly sexually assaulting a drag queen. Couzens, 48, allegedly molested a drag artist while he was in costume at the New Inn pub in Deal, Kent, in 2018, before propositioning him to have sex. The performer claimed that Couzens told him that he was a police officer when he told the father-of-two to stop touching him, the Mirror reported. A slew of claims have come to light about the Metropolitan Police officer since he was jailed for his life with no chance of parole after he kidnapped, raped and murdered Sarah Everard while she was walking home. Couzens is known to have committed an indecent exposure, driving round naked from the waist down in his car, when he served with them in 2015. He has also been identified as being responsible for carrying out the same offence at a McDonald's restaurant days before he targeted Ms Everard, 33, while she walked home from her friend's house in Clapham, south London. On March 3, he staged a fake Covid arrest, handcuffed Ms Everard and put her in his car before driving 80 miles to Kent where he raped and murdered her. Days later, he burned her body and left it in woods near land he owned. Now, a drag queen has reportedly accused Couzens of molesting him while he was standing at a bar in costume. The unnamed performer is believed to have said that he did not go to the police before seeing the news about Couzens' jail term, as he did not think his claims would be taken seriously. But the alleged victim said that he recognised Couzens 'right away' after seeing him on the TV and told his partner 'that's him'. The drag artist reportedly said he had gone to the New Inn pub, which is close to Couzen's Kent house, to watch a band when Couzens inappropriately touched his backside at the bar. He told Sunday's People: 'Then he [Couzens] went round to my groin and I went, 'Oi, stop that. My partner's over there.' He went 'Do you know who I am?' and I went, 'Do you know who I f***ing am?' He alleged that he told Couzens his stage name, to which he replied that he was a police officer, and the unnamed drag queen told him again not to touch him. The performer alleged that Couzens then asked him to go around the back of the pub where it was 'dark' to give him a 'b***job', after which the artist told him to 'p*** off' and walked back to his table and told his partner what allegedly happened. He said he has not told any of his friends about the alleged incident as he is 'embarrassed', and claimed that he is now too afraid to go to a bar or 'wander' off by himself after the alleged assault. Speaking about recognising Couzens, he said: 'Can you imagine if I went down that alley? My partner has said to me, 'You could have been stabbed in the alley and left somewhere else'.' He reportedly made a formal victim statement on Tuesday naming police officer Couzens as the alleged attacker. Metropolitan Police confirmed that it had received a crime report from Kent Police in relation to a sexual assault that allegedly occurred at a pub in Deal, Kent in the summer of 2018. A spokesperson added that detectives are assessing the information and enquiries are ongoing. The Met has faced a wave of criticism over missed opportunities to expose killer cop Wayne Couzens as a sexual predator before he went on to rape and murder Sarah Everard. It emerged the 48-year-old was known as 'the rapist' by staff at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary because he made female colleagues feel so uncomfortable. He had been accused of indecent exposure in Kent in 2015 and in London in the days before Ms Everard's murder, but was allowed to continue working. Priti Patel has announced there will be an independent inquiry into the 'systematic failures' that allowed Wayne Couzens to serve as a Met police officer and murder Sarah Everard. The Home Secretary said that 'recent tragic events have exposed unimaginable failures in policing' S he said that the public 'have a right to know' why Couzens was able to be employed by the Metropolitan Police. Addressing the Conservative Party conference in Manchester, Ms Patel said: 'I can confirm today, there will be an inquiry, to give the independent oversight needed, to ensure something like this can never happen again.' The inquiry will look at Couzens' career in the Metropolitan Police and determine if red flags were missed to identify him as a threat. The probe is likely to be viewed as a warning shot at Met chief Cressida <banned word filter activated> who has faced calls to quit following the murder of Ms Everard. The inquiry will be split into two parts, with the first examining Couzens' previous behaviour. It will seek to establish a 'definitive account' of his conduct leading up to his conviction, as well 'any opportunities missed'. The second part of the probe will look at 'specific issues raised by the first part of the inquiry'. That could include examining wider issues across policing, including vetting practices, discipline and workplace behaviour. Ms Patel will also write to the independent police inspectorate HMICFRS to commission a 'thematic inspection of vetting and counter-corruption procedures in policing across England and Wales'. This will look at how forces detect and deal with misogynistic and predatory behaviour. The Home Office said the inquiry will be established on a non-statutory footing but 'can be converted to a statutory inquiry if required'. A chairman for the inquiry and its terms of reference will be announced by the Government in due course. In light of Ms Everard's murder, all sexual and domestic abuse allegations against Metropolitan Police officers over the last ten years will also be reviewed. Dame Cressida <banned word filter activated>, commissioner for the force, announced on Friday that an investigation is being launched into all current cases of sexual misconduct or domestic abuse allegations against London's police officers. Dame Cressida, 60, also revealed similar allegations that have been made against both officers and workers at the force over the last ten years will be reviewed. Officers from the force's Directorate of Professional Standards will analyse each of the cases internally and will undertake a check of the vetting history of the staff involved in the claims. The under-fire commissioner, who is resisting calls to resign, said: 'We'll be reviewing them [the allegations] to make sure that the victim has been properly supported, and that the investigation is suitably thorough. 'We'll also be going back to look at some of those [historic] investigations just to make sure that the processes that should have taken place have taken place and that we are taking the right management action after the case is closed.' The force said in a statement the examination, which has been launched in addition to an independent review into the Met's culture by Baroness Casey of Blackstock, was being held in the aftermath Ms Everard's murder. Dame Cressida said she was 'delighted' to announce Baroness Blackstock will be in charge of an 'independent and far-reaching review' lasting an estimated six months. She said: 'She will be looking at our vetting, our recruitment, our leadership, our training and all manner of processes to see how they reinforce the best possible standards. 'She'll make a public report, and public recommendations, so that we can improve and make sure that the public have more confidence in us.' Dame Cressida said Baroness Casey - who has been leading an inquiry into how England yobs were able to break into Wembley during the Euros final - was a strong candidate for the job. 'I think she's got the right character, and the right expertise, and the right background, to do this review,' she said. Baroness Casey said: 'Trust is given to the police by our, the public's, consent. So any acts that undermine that trust must be examined and fundamentally changed. 'This will no doubt be a difficult task but we owe it to the victims and families this has affected and the countless decent police officers this has brought into disrepute.' The spotlight will also be shone on the force's Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command - which killer Wayne Couzens worked for - with a 'root-and-branch review' looking at whether there are any 'specific issues' within the unit. London Mayor Sadiq Khan has welcomed the appointment of Baroness Casey to lead the independent review into the Met's culture and standards. In a series of tweets, Mr Khan said: 'Baroness Casey's review must look into the wider culture of the Met Police, including issues of misogyny, sexism, racism and homophobia as well as thoroughly examining recruitment, vetting, training, leadership and standards of behaviour among officers and staff. 'I've been clear with the Met Commissioner about the scale of the challenge we face and the change that's needed, and I will continue to play my full part in holding the Met Police to account on behalf of Londoners.' In the wake of Couzens' life sentence for murder, it was revealed more than half of Met officers found guilty of sexual misconduct over a four-year period to 2020 kept their jobs, a total of 43 officers out of 83 or 52 per cent. Along with the handling of the Everard case, the Metropolitan Police are also facing heat over an independent panel's finding of 'institutional corruption' in the investigation into the unsolved murder of Daniel Morgan in 1987. The private investigator was murdered in a south London car park and the panel found that the Met concealed or denied failures in their investigation. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10076603/Wayne-Couzens-molested-drag-queen-bar-near-home-demanded-dark-alley-sex.html

  26. I never said that. I meant they were the family OF a besharam kanjar, not that they were ALL besharam kanjars. And my use of the phrase isn't limited to some stereotypical loud-mouthed, brash Punjabi family. Like you've pointed out, a family of apparently devout religious types can reveal themselves to be besharam kanjars. The way I use the phrase it's a descriptor of behaviour, not a particular category of person.

  27. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-58880207 North Korea: Kim Jong-un vows to build 'invincible military' Published 31 minutes ago Share Related Topics North Korea missile tests IMAGE SOURCE,REUTERS Image caption,North Korea says it needs to continue developing weapons for its protection North Korea's leader has vowed to build an "invincible military" in the face of what it says are hostile policies from the United States, report state media. Kim Jong-un added that weapons development was for self-defence, and not to start a war. Mr Kim made the comments at a rare defence exhibition while flanked by a variety of large missiles. North Korea has recently tested what it claims to be new hypersonic and anti-aircraft missiles. The South meanwhile has tested its own submarine-launched weapon. In his speech at the Self-Defence 2021 exhibition held in Pyongyang, which featured an array of military hardware including tanks, Mr Kim addressed the military build-up in the South and said that North Korea did not want to fight its neighbour. "We are not discussing war with anyone, but rather to prevent war itself and to literally increase war deterrence for the protection of national sovereignty," he said. Mr Kim also accused the US of stoking tensions between North and South Korea. He added that there was "no behavioural basis" to make North Korea believe that the US was not hostile. The US under President Joe Biden has repeatedly said it is willing to talk to North Korea, but has demanded Pyongyang give up nuclear weapons before sanctions can be eased. North Korea has so far refused.

  31. Can someone explain to me why the Sikh Anand Karaj is so popular on a purely aesthetic level compared to the Hindu and Muslim marriage rite ceremonies? Why are some Sikh females determined to reject the religious beliefs and norms of their heritage BUT refuse to let go of the actual marriage ceremony regardless of the background of the person they're marrying?

  34. Dumbbell squats (hold the dumbbell vertically so it hangs down, not horizontally) then do normal squats. Especially good for those with back or knee injuries as opposed to normal barbell squats. Hindu pushups, standard pushups, planks. A speed skipping rope session is a good fat blaster. That's pretty much it. I find if I focus I can target chest and arms for a burn. I'm honestly done with curling for aesthetics. I do like blasting my traps, though. Very heavy dumbbells, 5 sets, 30 seconds rest in-between. Good stuff for getting Bane-like traps.

  35. Our Belief creates our reality. Its true now and after we die( actually we never die since energy changes form, we are shape shifters). Due to the factor of time on earth physical manifestation takes time. Repeated thoughts and focus create reality faster. Since there is only one of us Unity consciousness. Separation is an illusion. After the process called death we first realize we are not the body, next we experience what we hold in our mind (beliefs). At some stage when mind is purged with all the acquired beliefs we proceed to mergence and experience oneness(our true nature)

  36. The person undergoing the experience sees what they want to see; the beliefs and the religious iconography they've been exposed to during their lives is constructed into a narrative by the subconscious to make sense of the experience. Why do you think a Christian undergoing a NDE always sees sights and images that correspond to the European biblical iconography established since the Middle Ages? Why do the occasions on which Jesus is seen during these visions does he resemble a Western European white man instead of the dusky Palestinian-looking feller he was in reality? Why do Hindus not see Muhammed luxuriating in Jannah? Why do Muslims from Saudi Arabia never see the blue-formed Krishna? Apologists say that God "rewards" the person undergoing the NDE with visions of personalities and things they're familiar with even if they're ultimately inaccurate, which also doesn't make sense because it would suggest God panders to our ignorance instead of dispelling it. I mean, I'd imagine a force that exists in the Realm of Truth as Truth itself would wish to dispel untruths, not perpetuate them as a patronising reward for a child of delicate demeanour. One would assume that if there is a TRUE religion (because they ALL can't be true) these NDE experiences would be used by higher powers to convey an objective, non-partisan peek into the afterlife that goes beyond tribal affiliations. But you never hear of such things. So what to believe?

  37. https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/tensions-grow-with-azerbaijan-as-iran-moves-forces-to-border-680669 Tensions grow with Azerbaijan as Iran moves forces to border Tensions spiked between Azerbaijan and Iran recently surrounding trade with Armenia and military exercises in the region. By TZVI JOFFRE SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 11:30 A still image from a video released by the Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry shows members of Azeri armed forces firing artillery during clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh in an unidentified location, in this still image from footage released September 28, 2020 (photo credit: DEFENCE MINISTRY OF AZERBAIJAN/HANDOUT VIA REUTERS) Advertisement Tensions spiked between Azerbaijan and Iran in recent weeks after Azerbaijan began targeting Iranian trucks with fines and arrests, and Iran moved military forces to its border with Azerbaijan and warned against Israeli influence near its borders. In August, the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry invited the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, due to "undesirable facts" concerning what it called illegal travel of Iranian trucks to the Karabakh region without the permission of Azerbaijan. A statement by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that the new Iranian administration would take steps to end such incidents. The trucks in question were traveling on a road between the Armenian towns of Kapan and Goris which partially crosses through territory handed over to Azerbaijan after the Nagorno-Karabakh war last year, according to RFE/RL. The highway, patrolled by Russian peacekeepers, is Armenia's only link to Iran. Earlier this month, Azerbaijani forces set up a checkpoint and began taxing and inspecting Iranian commercial trucks traveling on the highway, according to RFE/RL. A number of Iranian truck drivers were even arrested. Azerbaijani officials have stated that Azerbaijani law requires all foreign vehicles, not just Iranian ones, entering the country to pay road and transit fees. In an interview with the Turkish Anadolu Agency on Tuesday, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed outrage at the continued travel of Iranian trucks through Azerbaijani territory, questioning why Iran was so insistent on continuing trade to a region with only 25,000 inhabitants. "Is this market really so important? Is this trade really so important that you show such outright disrespect for a country you consider friendly and fraternal?" said Aliyev to Anadolu Agency. Tensions also rose recently due to joint military exercises carried out by Azerbaijan and Turkey in the Caspian Sea, with the Iranian Foreign Ministry warning that such drills violated international conventions banning the military presence of countries other than the five states which border the sea. In the interview with Anadolu Agency, the Azerbaijani president expressed shock at Iran's decision to hold a military exercise along its border, saying it was the first time in Azerbaijan's 30-year history of independence that this had occurred. While Aliyev admitted that every country has the sovereign right to conduct military exercises in its own territory, he questioned why Iran chose this specific time to do so. The president stressed that he does "not wish to see a single fact that would undermine long-term cooperation in the region" and hopes that the "emotional reaction" to Azerbaijan's "legitimate steps" is temporary. After the interview, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that Aliyev's remarks were "surprising" as such issues should have been handled through proper channels and not the media. Concerning the upcoming Iranian military drill, Khatibzadeh stated that it was aimed at "protecting regional security," adding however that Iran "will not tolerate the Israeli regime’s presence near its borders even if it’s ceremonial" and "will take any actions it deems necessary to protect its national security." In a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly last week, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed the importance of good relations between the two countries, but added that "some third parties should not be allowed to affect the good relations," according to the Iranian IRNA news agency. The "third parties" comment has been interpreted by some as referring to Israel, an ally of Azerbaijan, but an enemy of Iran. On Tuesday, Mohammad Pakpour, commander of the land forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), warned that Iran expected neighboring countries not "to be a breeding ground for the evil deeds of the Zionist regime," according to the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency. "The Islamic Republic expects our neighboring border areas and neighboring countries to be a safe and secure environment for countries and the region," said the commander. "Therefore, it is expected that while being doubly sensitive to this, they will not allow a foreign element such as the Zionist regime, whose conspiracies and malice with the Muslim nations are not hidden from anyone, to make the soil of our neighbors a bedrock to achieve its evil and criminal goals." Pakpour warned that there is "no doubt" that Israel is helping "some countries in the region" with the goal of created discord and division among Muslim countries. "We cannot accept that some countries, under the influence of third countries, make unrealistic and provocative statements regarding the promotion of the readiness of the combat units of the Islamic Republic and undermine our actions," said Pakpour. "Neighboring governments know better than anyone else the reasons for holding Iranian exercises." Pakpour stressed that Iran had not reacted to 37 exercises conducted by countries in the region in recent months and respected the inalienable right of every country to conduct drills. Kioumars Heydari, commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Forces, announced on Thursday that an exercise, named "Conquerors of Khaybar," would start on Friday in northwestern Iran in order to test weapons and equipment and assess the readiness of the armed forces in any arena and along the borders of Iran, according to the Iranian Fars News Agency. The name of the exercise, "Conquerors of Khaybar," may be a reference to the Battle of Khaybar, in which the Muslims, led by Muhammad, fought against the Jews in Khaybar, eventually defeating and imposing a tax on them. An opinion piece published in Kayhan, a newspaper associated with Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, warned against an alleged "invisible alliance" between the US, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Israel, saying that it could have a "major impact" on Iran's and Russia's political weight in the region. The author of the piece warned that Turkey and Azerbaijan must know that "Iran can thwart the conspiracy designed for them in a regrettable way." A video report on Iran's IRIB broadcaster on Tuesday seemed to insinuate that a "terrorist" group that it recently thwarted was armed in Azerbaijan, showing pictures of Baku, Azerbaijan's capital, while stating that it was armed in "one of the neighboring countries." Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced on Tuesday that it had killed the leader of a group that it claimed was supported and guided by the intelligence services of countries hostile to Iran. The group allegedly planned to strike sensitive and vital sites in Iran, according to Iranian media. All members of the group were arrested by Iranian intelligence forces. Azerbaijan and Israel have close ties, with the president of Azerbaijan saying in a discussion with The Nizami Ganjavi International Center in May that relations with Israel were very diverse and were especially strong in the defense industry. "It is no secret that Azerbaijan has full access to Israeli defense industry products," said Aliyev at the time. Israeli arms, including the LORA missile and the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Harop suicide drone, were reportedly used by Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh war with Armenia last year.
