  1. This is true. My mother was around 14 that time (1984) and she lived in a pind right next to Bhindran Kala, she said that at that time not many people were completely aware, even the older folk. She even saw Sant Ji once but he was always surrounded by a large group of bodyguards.

  3. This is quite contextual. Unless you are a male with lots of sisters or one of those players, I guess you pick up and learn a lot about female nature living with other females other than your mother. Most guys tend to use their mothers as a template of how women should be. However, they make the mistake thinking that their spouses are going to be exactly as their mothers. Your mother is your mother and she gave birth to you and will treat you different than your wife. The aspect of your mother that has something in common with your wife is the context of how your mother treats your father. One of the aspects of females, is that they speak a different language to males. They process information very differently. A man is more direct to say , " I need to get some milk as we have run out" whereas women tend to pose the question more indirectly, "Umm.. dudh seems to have run out", which is more like a hint to the man that you need to get some more dudh from the shop. Another aspect that is completely missed by men is the way women communicate with each other. My dad used to say when one bibi says Sat Sri Akal to another bibi, they are not really trying to greet each other but suss each other out. The majority of communication between women is at a low frequency, you have to be quite clued up on the nuances and body language to get a gist of what is going on. Another thing that women do (quite underhandly) is step by step pull you away from your family. So before you even know it, your wife has control over you and you don't even realise it. That is one reason why mother-in-law have issues with their daughter-in-laws because being older women they know the game being played by the younger women (probably because they played the game decades earlier ). It is important as a man to say "no " to your wife so that they cannot break with a thousand concessions. There is a power struggle between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Another aspect is women are in "generally " led by emotions whereas men are "generally" led by logic. Now I know that there are exceptions. There are things that can be said between men (like insults) and it won't bother them. You cannot do that with women. You can give a man a complete rollicking and he will say , "Yup, I deserved that!". You cannot do that with a woman. They say that men can insult each other and still be friends. Women can compliment each other and still hate each other.

  4. Americans (the general population) are incredibly low IQ and not aware of anything, compared to other nations. Who can forget this? It is absolutely disgusting. I actually legit fear for our elderly and older folk going out and about. It’s just going to get worse and worse as more hatred or resentment towards Islam/Muslims increases (especially in places like Europe).

  6. I made a list of some names based off historical Sikhs such as the Chali Mukte and Sikh royalty. Some of these names can be used for both girls and boys. 8. By the same logic pocs should be beating goras left and right for all the <banned word filter activated> they have done around the world. They have committed so many crimes on a large scale against people of color but act like they are defenders of morals. What a joke. Thats why every sikh needs to learn martial arts and show these people their place. When all we do is act like victims on social media they think we are weak. Throw a few punches back and show them their place.

  9. The problem is that in any civil war there are always refugees. The Muslims especially from areas around Punjab like western UP, Mewat and even Jammu will definitely want to come to safety in Punjab and our liberals and Ravi Singh types will welcome them with open arms quite oblivious to the danger they present to Punjab in the future. Unless we are able to sideline and isolate these types of fo.ols there is no way that we would ever be able to take any advantage as a people from a civil war like situation in northern India.

  14. Remember there was a bachan given out by Sant Thakur Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, a gursikh whom I have the upmost deep respect for. This bachan stated that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale was alive and in chardikala and many Kharku Singhs believed this. It is only recently, in a recent space I heard with people who were close with them that he admitted it wasn't true on his death bed. I believe the reason he did this was to protect some naaujaawn from getting killed or something like that. This bachan caused many people to put down their arms because they believed Sant Ji was returning, but as we all know he became shaheed during Operation BlueStar.

  16. Let me fix this actually, because I don't know what every single person of Panjab was thinking. From my personal experience, from speaking with elders, they had no idea what was going on until after the attack and until years later. These are regular, Sikh village folks who lived their day to day lives. I can only go off of what people have told me. However, this notion that Panjab all had this uniform thinking about what was going on isn't the whole truth. This is a better way to phrase it.

  17. The attempt is mainly by those who weren't even alive in 1984. The action of Santa Singh pretty much destroyed any unity that the Panth had achieved as a result of the government's attack on Durbar Sahib. His actions allowed the government to show the world that there were Sikhs who agreed with its actions. Before Santa Singh all they had were a motley crew of already discredited Congressi Sikhs, Comrades and Nirankaris and Kukas. This in turn allowed the failed leadership of the Akali Dal like Longowal to come out of prison and with government help resurrect his reputation and allow the sell out leadership to weather the storm and stage a come back and destroy Punjab in the early 2000s. All this the legacy of Santa Singh.

  18. I see what you are saying but we have to look at the larger picture. Santa Singh and the Nanaksari Babas went against the ENTIRE Panth when they took part in the Kar Sewa. It's was not a small thing. At a time when the Panth needed unity they acted as the chumchay of Indira Gandhi and divided us and for that their crime is unforgivable. No amount of he did so much sewa blah blah blah will cut it. You claim that the last time Budha Dal had unity was under Santa Singh. Have you even considered that the actions of Santa Singh by becoming a chumcha of political parties such as the Congress allowed other parties like Akali Dal to also play one faction against another and now you have the fruits of what Sant Singh planted in his life. It's quite ironic that the person who divided the Panth in 1984, his legacy now is that the Budha Dal is in tatters. I don't agree with your assessment that a lot of people still did not know the truth about Santji after Bluestar. The only ones who were against him were the Congressi, the Comrades, the cultist Nirankaris and the Hindu extremists. You can decide which one of these groups the people you know who lived through that period and held negative views about Santji fit into. The common Sikhs were never against Santji.

  24. Yeah, I mean you can really see this now especially with the split in Budha Dal. Last time it really was a unified unit was under Baba Santa Singh Ji. The SGPC and Badals propagated Balbir Singh to take the jathedari. Balbir Singh and Badals. It seems like all the real ones get taken out. I mean these guys were responsible for getting Baba Surjit Singh Ji arrested where he eventually passed away because of it, and later Baba Bahadur Singh Ji who was a straight Jangi Jarnail man.

  25. Hear hear ! The Blessings that Guru Gobind SIngh Ji has planted into the Khalsa eclipse all other powers. We just need to get back our faith, confidence, and loyalty. We will have people lining up from other communities for Amrit if we can model true Khalsa behaviour.

  26. Be easy on the girl guys. We all started our journey somewhere, it seems she is genuinely trying to learn. Some amritdharis believe in keeping bibek, i.e., only eating food prepared by other amritdharis. Mostly AKJ, Nihangs and some Taksalis. Altough I've personally seen other Gursikhs, non Jatha aligned, also practise it. One example I've seen is Jathedar Ranjit Singh. These people do thus not eat out because you can not be sure who cooked the food and under what circumstances. This practise can seem harsh and discriminatory to some. It seems that historically the amritdhari-sahajdhari divide was not as problematic prior to the Singh Sabha movement. Some congregations were led by Sahajdharis even after the 'creation' of the Khalsa [refer to Guru Gobind Singhs Hukamnamas to one head of a congregation in the early 1700s who was Sahajdhari], so it is only natural to assume that Sahajdharis used to cook langar as well, food which was partaken by the Khalsa and non Khalsa alike. Other Singhs go even further and keep 'sarbloh' bibek, which means only cooking and eating in sarbloh (all iron) utensils. While I feel there may be some benefits to eating in these (like wearing a sarbloh kara vs steel kara), it would be narrow minded to limit Sikhi to eating in sarbloh utensils or not. Some of these people even refuse to partake in langar if it is not served in sarbloh utensils. Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha criticized this practise in his book Gurmat Martand and he said this is a practise which has crept into Sikhi from Vaishno Matt. Historically, Rahitnamas (most of whom are unauthentic, tampered with or written many decades after the Guru by the way) do mention that Sikhs should only eat food cooked by other Sikhs though. They also put an emphasis on never leaving food unattended (so it would not be poisoned by enemies etc). Not eating jootha and so on. But as I always say, we should only take the things from Rahitnamas which concords with Gurbani and bibek buddh (as in 'discerning intellect'). There are more good things than bad things in this practise, but it becomes problematic when it creates division and hierarchy in an already divided nation.

  32. i don't think they will...if they did, they were going to leave army last yr Dec when our elders were in the freezing cold in Dehli. Cant get much more fuddhus then these patriotic Sikhs who sign for indian army. The most state gives is lives to India is Sikhs and every other hindustani is wishing a genocide on Sikhs any chance they get. The sad thing is, all these hindustanis and rest indians any chance they get they lust Sikh blood, but it wont be them that pull the first trigger, it'll be ours. If they were to do 84 again, it will be 'Sikhs' at the front line ready to kill other Sikhs..

  40. Working class brits can't be blamed. They've been conditioned for centuries to conform to the ruling classes, and despite what people might think, they still get preferential treatment in lower end jobs. It's only their work ethic and decreasing demographics (due to the widespread use of contraceptives) that have forced them to have to compete like never before. When you see the work ethics and skills of the eastern europeans, they are outclassed. The destruction of apprenticeships under the tories hammered them as well. As for the show, we've become a part of it.

Such as pendoo women who come from the pend and then get stupid haircuts, and maybe start doing glassy as well. And a lot of other nonsense. A lot of PENDOOS know how to be MODERN without being PROGRESSIVE.

  42. A rather recent and frankly staggering trend I'm beginning to observe amongst white people I know and from other various accounts around the world, is how the once atheist / agnostic guys belonging to Generation Y are turning to Christianity in response to the tumultuous events of the world they're observing. The penny is starting to drop. The smart ones are realising what lies ahead; they're watching the complete yet piecemeal destruction of their society; aggressive and voluminous masses of foreign men belonging to a hyper-masculine and confrontational religion flocking to their country; an utterly corrupt establishment that cares nothing for the vast majority; a contemptible and compromised media that's a plaything of the aforementioned establishment; a general subversion of thousands of years of progress that's on the verge of being squandered, and these guys who feel abandoned and powerless are turning to God as a last resort. Whatever we may think of their choice of religion to adhere to, I really never thought such a thing would happen in my lifetime. It's not a mass flailing of limbs at the altar of Christ, but it's quiet search for some sort of reconnection with the Judeo-Christian values their lands were built upon, after years of complete ambivalence and, let's be honest, outright hostility towards the idea of a God. We are living in truly fascinating times.

  43. Oh Is that right? That's funny cos the only physical resistant to pakistani grooming gangs came from a birmingham sikh group. The first Gurdwara made by sikhs themselves was in birmingham, the first sikh tv channel came from Birmingham. The Birmingham accent is working class, brummies are inherently proud of their working class roots, at the same time sikhs and Punjabis are inherently proud of their working class tribal roots. Sikhs/Punjabis have more in common with the birmingham and the black Country than middle class librial London.

  44. Thank you bro. You're 100% correct, we should all be uplifting each other since everyone in our community seems to be so judgmental. Your advice on thoughts has been super helpful. I chose a shabad a few days before the new year and have been reciting it often to give myself a reminder. Although I am still getting stupid thoughts here and there, i'm learning to just ignore them and not pay attention to them, this in turn has kinda reduced them aswell but the battle goes on. Im still focusing on doing my nitnem daily and I can tell this is having an affect on me, to a point where I am getting a blissful feeling. I cannot explain the feeling but it feels soooooooo familiar (can you guys relate?) like I know ive felt like this before but then I dont recall a time in my life where i ever felt like that before. Its weird. I think it might be that because our true form is God i am starting to remember this true form? I dont want to jump to conclusions i am definitely no where near finding God but just to sit in the gurdwara and get this feeling is such a blessing. I can only thank the Guru and the sangat here who have shared their experiences with me and I pray each one of you is blessed? One thing i have to say is that it remains in the back of my mind that at any given moment i can fall off from this path again like i have so many times before, and that is scary for me because i really want this to be the time where i finally commit forever to Sikhi and hopefully one day I can go pesh to panj pyare before retaking amrit. But my fear of falling off again is holding me back from doing this.
