  7. WJKK WJKF The Sikhs who converted may well have in many instances been by force, however the Sikhs which converted as they did not want to lose their financial standing speaks for itself. Sikhs gave their life's for sikhi, Men, Women and Children during the gurus lifetimes and after. Some Sikhs should have remembered that in 1947. However anyone who converts out of sikhi to any other religion only insures me that the weaker links have been taken out of sikhi. In reference to the lady within this partition story, I have not come across her being forced to convert. Again if she converted, why convert back to sikhi and start another family? Then go back to meet the Muslim family. If she suffered forced conversion by the pariwar, why go back? Just leave it at a full stop.

  8. https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/sikh-community-faces-existential-crisis-in-pakistan-101654007355224.html Sikh community faces 'existential crisis' in Pakistan In a brutal incident on May 15 recently, two Sikh traders--Kuljeet and Ranjit Singh- - were murdered on the outskirts of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Asian Lite International reported. According to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, there are just 15,000-20,000 Sikhs estimated to be left in Pakistan of which some 500 Sikh households are in Peshawar. Published on May 31, 2022 08:06 PM IST Islamic outfits have made an unlivable environment for religious minorities in Pakistan through targeted killings, abductions and forced conversions. Attacks on Sikhs have become a regular affair in the country and it has triggered tension among communities. In a brutal incident on May 15 recently, two Sikh traders--Kuljeet and Ranjit Singh- - were murdered on the outskirts of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Asian Lite International reported. This was the 'twelfth' such incident since 2014 when Sikhs were targeted by extremists in KP province alone. Moreover, in September last year, Satnam Singh, a Sikh Unani medicine practitioner was shot down inside his clinic in Peshawar, the report added, citing the local community. The Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) took the responsibility for the attack. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan also strongly condemned the murders and said in a statement, "This is not the first time that the Sikh community in KP has been targeted and we demand that the KP police identify and arrest the perpetrators promptly." The Sikh population in Pakistan is in a vulnerable state and has seen a massive decline in the last two decades amid rising cases of forced conversions and targeted attacks by the Islamic outfits because of their unique religious identifications and their population accumulation in unsafe areas of KP. World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) also condemned the Peshawar killings and expressed deep concerns for the safety of Pakistan's Sikh community. In their statement, the WSO stated that Sikhs in Pakistan are "feeling vulnerable and unsafe." Moreover, "they do not know if they will return home safely, if they go out." Most of the Sikhs in KP come from a financially weak background and run small grocery shops or work as Hakeems. Migrating to a safer place is becoming a compulsion for them as Pakistan does not guarantee their security in the region anymore, Asian Lite said. According to Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, there are just 15,000-20,000 Sikhs estimated to be left in Pakistan of which some 500 Sikh households are in Peshawar. In January 2020, a violent mob attacked one of the holiest Sikh shrines, Nankana Sahib Gurudwara, in Punjab province, and the horrific attack terrorized Sikhs across Pakistan because it made them realize that Punjab was not safe anymore. Amid the growing demands of imposing 'Sharia Law' in the country and the constant ascent in atrocities against Sikh minorities has shrunk space for them to survive in Pakistan, growing disenchantment among minority communities in Pakistan, especially among Sikhs, who thought that they could co-exist peacefully along with majority Muslims. Pakistan is witnessing a new wave of terrorism with several incidents of target killings of Sikh and Shia minorities reported in the Peshawar region in recent years. The previous governments in Pakistan abandoned the execution of the National Action Plan (NAP) which was meant to be put in place to carry out a crackdown on terrorism giving rise to horrific incidents taking place against minorities in the nation. Religious minorities in Pakistan are often treated as 'second-class' citizens, Asian Lite International reported.

  9. Goldy Brar's got a dead brother. I think that's fact. Moose's people have been implicated in the murder. But I'm sure there will be some twisted political aspect to it as well. But like always, we may never know the full truth. Most likely it will be multiple players involved, and each party might have a different agenda/objective for the killing.

  10. It's multilayered. Goldy Brar (whose brother was allegedly killed by Moosewala's side) was Akali affiliated and we know Moose was Congress. So there is a political dimension to it too. Check these f**kers out. No gloves, no idea of basic forensics or evidence gathering. For all we know that could have anyone's prints/dna on it. These people don't look like they want to catch anyone. Welcome to the third world. lol

  11. Well you obviously ain't heard a lot of his stuff, especially the early stuff before he got sidetracked. There was a lot more to him than what you're saying above. You're being disingenuous if you're boxing him up as simply as you have in my opinion. I think one of his greater lyrical legacies was to open up on emotional topics which highlight a sort of vulnerability and introspection - which a lot of blokey blokes really struggle with. But anyway. This isn't a topic about Tupac's greatness or otherwise. Make another thread about that on a Hip Hop forum if you want maybe? It's interesting to know Moose idolised him though.

  12. Poetic genius? You have got to be kidding. Lyrically he was very simplistic. How often can one rhyme thug/drug/slug/etc.? It’s no wonder he was so prolific: he obviously put very little time into his lyrics. Illmatic era Nas set the standard for street poetry.

  20. Yeah. I know it'll be pretty much business as usual. Things eventually settle down again for a few decades. I was talking to an older guy I worked with, and he said the 70s and early 80s were very similar to what we're seeing now in terms of divisive politics and cultural issues. While there does seem to be a strange air of finality about some issues currently occurring in the world, I think things will be somewhat ok for most people. As for the utopia... Israel! ?

  23. In my teens I would get triggered thinking of Pakistani and Afghan Sikhs, wondering, "Why don't they just move to another country?" Now I'm older I can appreciate how difficult it is to just get up and leave especially if it's not an immediate or direct life and death situation. Not many apne are capable of looking at a degrading society they call home, and extrapolating their existence 20 years into a dark and dangerous future. By all means, WE should be looking to leave the UK considering what's coming especially if you've kids and elders who can still move around a little bit. Americans in the major cities should've started leaving around 2 years ago.

  24. Absolutely disgraceful. There's no apostrophe in "Jatt's in Canada". No need to use it in a possessive sense. ? Musically, it's eerily reminiscent of 1997-era Coolio, so they're about 20 years behind current music tastes and styles, which for Indians isn't surprising. I really wish young Jatts watching this would laugh and tune it out as Canadian-Sikh cringe, and not something to aspire to. I hope so.

  27. We never have amritdhari Sikhs pushing for this, we just have these people who 200 hundred years ago would not have been considered Sikhs pushing for this. It also seems like these people only care about this LGBT stuff when it comes to Sikh issues, whenever there is beadbi or anything actually important they remain silent. Think I saw one of the trans blokes doing tobacco and weed and this stuff and then justifying it in the name of mental health, like yeah mate mental health is important, but you gotta stay in the line of Sikhi, they do all this kurehits and then find excuses, bro these excuses aren't gonna work when the dharamraj is gonna ask you about smoking and stuff.

We can either learn from 84, use that pain motivation to follow Sikhi they want to destroy best revenge....and start investing in education serious leadership, financially etc.. or carry on with rally, activism, ready to die for the panth (which they want less Sikh population = win for them) hunger strikes, ending up in jail etc ..Waheguru will bring justice in next world

  33. I'm speculating but for someone to make such a U-turn and to be giving off "I don't want to be here" vibes might suggest something a little sinister. It wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for a celebrity to be caught up in a "honeypot" entrapment situation to secure their cooperation. Or he could be a typical two-faced opportunist like most of these jumped up harlequins in the entertainment industries who people are drawn to idolising as gods. Who knows.

  36. The Hidden Treasure There lived a farmer in the village. He had five sons. They were all idlers and never helped their father. They always quarreled among themselves. The father was very much sad and worried. He tried his level best to mend their habits but all in vain. Once he was taken ill. He called his sons. All of them reached there. He asked them to sit down and listen to him carefully. The old father said, "My dear sons, I am weak and ill. I may die any moment. There is a lot of money hidden in our fields but I have forgotten where I had buried it. Dig that treasure out after my death." The farmer died after two days. The sons dug every inch of the tend but could not find anything. As the field was well ploughed some old man advised them to sow wheat in that. They had a very good crop. By selling the wheat they got a lot of money. Now they understood what their father meant. It was really the hidden treasure. From that day they worked hard and lived a happy life. Moral: No pains, no gains.

  37. My main desire is to make the whole world know about sikhee and benefit by its wisdom, if only He wishes so, with my petty 2 cents. Sikhee is a pool of nectar, where whosoever comes with the thirst of spirituality, can get it quenched with ease. You see, there are many of our sikh brothers and sisters all around the world out of our home land, who have small aged children, so I thought as they already love cartoons and watch them attentively, why not make the right efforts and according to their age and understanding, share with them, the basics of sikhee. I am sure that by His Kirpa, when they grow up a bit more, they will have a natural inclination towards sikhee, also aided by the guidance of their parents at all times, they shall go much far on this path of love and devotion to Wahiguru Akal Purukh. If we want sikhee to be strong, then roots have to be deep rooted since the very begining, means childhood. Anything which may make us remember Him, and attracts us towards Him, is most welcome, that is important, otherwsie apart from His simran, His bhakti, there is no such thing in the 3 lokas, which can make any justice to His wadeeayee. Sat Sree Akal.

  38. The Hen that Laid Golden Eggs Once, a farmer lived in a village. He was very poor. His income was very small. He passed his days with difficulty. One day, someone gave him a hen. It gave a golden egg every day. He sold the egg every day. Soon he became a rich man. All began to respect him in the village. He became greedy. He thought that inside the hen there must be a storehouse of golden eggs. He should get them in a day. Then he would be the richest man in the village. He took a knife and cut the stomach of the hen. He did not get even a single egg. He lost not only the golden eggs but the hen also. Moral: Greed is a curse.

  39. A story about the nature of the material world One night, just before the shopkeeper was about to close the shop, a dog came into the shop. There was a bag in its mouth. The bag had a list of items to be bought and money. The shopkeeper took the money and kept the items in the bag. Immediately, The dog picked up the bag of items and left. The shopkeeper was surprised and went behind the dog to see who the owner was. The dog waited at the bus stop. After sometime, a bus came and the dog got into the bus. As soon as the conductor came, it moved forward to show his neck belt which had money and the address as well. The conductor took the money and put the ticket in his neck belt again. When it reached the destination, the dog went to the front and wagged his tail indicating that he wanted to get down. The moment the bus stopped, it got down. The shopkeeper was still following it. The dog knocked on the door of a house with its legs. Its owner came from inside and beat it with a stick. The shocked shopkeeper asked him "why are you beating the dog?", to which the owner replied, "he disturbed my sleep. It could have taken the keys with it." This is the truth of life. There is no end to the expectations people have from you. The moment you go wrong, they start pointing at our mistakes. All the good done in the past is forgotten. Any small mistake committed then gets magnified. This is the nature of this material world.!!!

  40. Story of the Lion and the Bull One day, some cows were grazing on a green pasture. The pasture was very near to a thick jungle. One of the cows got separated from the herd and strayed into the forest. She could not find her way back and, therefore, she stayed in the jungle. At night, she heard the roar of a lioness. She was frightened. The lioness saw her. However, she did not try to harm her. In fact, she had already eaten her dinner-Lions do not hunt until they are hungry. The lioness walked up to the cow and befriended her. When the cow saw that the lioness was harmless, she accepted her friendship. Soon, they became very close friends. All the other animals of the forest wondered at their friendship. Months passed. The cow gave birth to a calf and the lioness gave birth to a cub. The calf and the cub grew up together and became close friends. They were always seen together. There was great love between the two. Some animals of the forests envied their friendship. One day, a man came to the forest to collect some herbs. He happened to see the lion and the bull together. He was so surprised that he went to the king and told him that he had seen a lion and a bull together. The king was very wise. He said, “It must be God’s will to make friendship between the bull and the lion.” The king then told the man to keep a watch over the two. “Someone may try to break their friendship,” he said. The king turned out to be right. A jackal wanted to break their friendship, so that he could taste the bull’s flesh. He went to the lion and said, “Your majesty, the bull is plotting against you. He wants to kill you and become the ruler of the forest. You should not trust him any longer.” The lion was furious to hear this. Next, he went to the bull and said, “Dear bull, do not have faith on your friend lion. He is trying to kill you. He wants to taste your flesh. Be careful of him.” The bull also grew angry. When the lion and the bull came face to face, they charged at each other. There was a fierce fight between the two. At the end, both, the lion as well as the bull died. The jackal fed on their flesh. The king’s man watched all this. He went and told the king all that had happened. The king was sad that such a rare friendship had come to an end. A cunning jackal led the two friends to their doom. Moral: however good one´s intentions, beware of cunning and jealous jackal type people, who neither they are at peace, nor do they want goodness among others.

  41. Story of the Wise Sage Many years ago, a king ruled over a large kingdom. He was a pious king. He ruled wisely and fairy. His kingdom was flourishing. His subjects were honest and kind. There was everything in the kingdom that a king could aspire for. His subjects loved and respected him. However, the king was not happy. The cause of his unhappiness was his son, the future king of the kingdom. The prince was brought up with great love and care. As a result, he had turned into an ill-mannered and irresponsible lad. He did not respect his father. Neither did he possess any quality that a prince did he possess. He was cruel to the subject and showed disrespect even to his teachers. The king was greatly worried about him. Years passed and the prince showed no signs of improvement. The king was growing old. He worried about the future of his kingdom. One day, he heard about a wise, old sage. He decided to take the prince to him. The sage asked the king to leave the prince under his care for some days. Leaving his son with the sage, the king went back to his kingdom. The sage observed the prince for a few days. One day, he called the prince to him and said, “Dear prince, the young ‘Neem’ plant that you see over there, is full of wisdom. Please go and pluck some of its leaves and eat them. You will then become as wise as your father. Then you will not get any scolding from him and everybody will respect you as they respect your father”. The prince obeyed the sage. He plucked some leaves. Hardly had he bit the leaves that he started vomiting. He grew angry and said, “The leaves are very bitter. You told me that they are full of wisdom. How could you make me eat such bitter leaves? These leaves cannot contain any wisdom; I must destroy the plant, so that no other person ever tastes it again”. So saying, the prince pulled out the plant and threw it into the nearby river. The sage smiled said, “Dear prince, you have destroyed this plant because it was bitter. Just think about the bitterness inside you. Your father is such a gentle and kind king. Everybody loves and respect him. But he is worried because he thinks that his kingdom will not flourish much under you. You have made more enemies than friends. You have no sweetness in your voice. Your enemies will uproot your kingdom, as you have uprooted this plant. Therefore, you should try to mend your ways and learn to be kind and just like your father. Be polite and learn to obey your elders. You are the future king. You should try to uproot all the bitterness that is there in your nature. Otherwise your kingdom will be ruined and you will be blamed for it”. The prince understood the wise words of the sage. He realized his mistakes and resolved to mend his ways. He bowed down at the sage’s feet and said,” O Holy one, from today onwards, I will not give my father a cause to worry. You have shown me a true path. I shall try to become a just and kind king as my father”. So from that day, the prince mended his ways. He became a dutiful person ruled his kingdom fairly and wisely.

  42. The Donkey and the Load of Salt Long ago there lived a merchant. He used to deal in salt. He had a donkey to carry load. He used to sell his salt loaded on the donkey. He had to cross a stream to go to other village. Once his donkey fell into the stream and much of the salt was dissolved in water. The donkey easily crossed the stream due to the light weight of salt on his back. The donkey was happy. The donkey on his next trip knowingly fell into the stream. The merchant suspected the animal's intention. On the other day too the donkey intentionally repeated the same trick. His master was now sure about the animal's evil intention. The merchant next day loaded the donkey with a lot of cotton. The donkey once again repeated the same trick. He fell into the stream. This time his load became very heavy. The donkey carried the heavy load. It was very tiring for him to move on. The donkey now realized his mistake. He stopped falling down into the stream any more. He thought that it was not good to play tricks. The merchant had taught the donkey a good lesson. Moral: You can befool a person a few times but not always.

  43. The Slave and the Lion A rich man had a slave. The man was very cruel to him. So the slave became sick of his cruel treatment. He decided to run away from his master. He got a chance and ran away to a forest. There he hid himself in a cave. As he lay there thinking, he heard the groaning of the lion. He was frightened. As the lion came near, he saw that he was limping. The lion approached the slave and held out his paw. The slave saw that his paw was swollen and a thorn was stuck in it. The slave drew out the thorn very gently. The lion was relieved of pain and went away. Afterwards they became friends. By chance the slave was arrested by his master's men. He was brought to his master who ordered his men to put him before a hungry lion. The day for punishment was fixed. The people of the town were invited to see the wonderful fight. The lion was freed from the cage to pounce upon the slave when he recognized him. He now advanced slowly towards him and began to lick his hands out of love. It was the same lion, his friend. The slave too, patted him. It was a wonderful sight for the people. The lion was given to him as a reward. The slave was set free. Moral: Kindness is always rewarded.
