Amritdhari Khalsa Panth proudly states that we liberated the Gurdwaras from the Mahants because the Mahants used to abuse the Gurdwaras' money and the Gurdwaras were doing things against the Gurumat. It is possible. But not all sages were bad. Only a few mahants were incorrect; the rest effectively managed the gurdwaras and spread Sikhism. Thakur Dalip Singh ji has questioned the Khalsa Panth on whether the Mahants, to whom we have given possession of the Gurdwaras today, do not misuse the Maya money offered by the Sangat. Aren't there anti-Gurdwara activities happening? 312237968_800104471195489_8268046516900959080_n.mp4

  6. Mukatnama in Sau Sakhi, ascribed to Bhai Sahib Singh, also gives hint at Japji Sahib being the morning bani but encourages one to read Aarta generally as a part of nitnem as well. These are the only two sources (Bhai Gurdas Vaaran and Mukatnama) indicating Aarti and Aarta as daily nitnem (liturgical prayers) for Sikhs. A Sikh should eat after reciting (jap) the Gurus name and reciting Japji. After remembering God (doing simran), one should do Aarta (by which) the Guru eradicates poverty. (11th stanza) Roughly translated by myself. The Mukatnama, altough not without its share of flaws, is an interesting Rahit because it refers tobacco as 'jagat jooth', forbids marrying into the same gotras (family names - one of the only Rahits that indicate this), mentions daswandh and many other Sikh terms that are not always found in other rahitnamas.

  7. so Sodar Rehras and Arti should both be performed for nitnem, however many gurdwaras seem to ignore this as does sgpc maryada!

  11. If you look at how the Sikh empire had progressed technologically in such a short time of 60 years you can such imagine how advanced we could have been if the Punjab had not been annexed. This is why all this 'British history is Sikh history' BS is so galling. We are here because the British were there.

  14. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh From Tapoban phorum In 1704 when the army of emperor Aurangzeb had laid siege to Anandpur fortress and two of its generals Zabardast Khan and Wajir Khan were playing chess under the shade of a tree while others watched the game, Guru Gobind Singh Ji stood on top of the fortress wall and watched this scene through a telescope. Guru Ji took an arrow from his quiver, strung it hard on his bow and shot it across the fields towards the assembly. Down came the whizzing arrow striking hard into the wooden leg of the manji (indian bed) where the generals sat. The two generals who were engrossed in the game became panicky when they felt the arrow strike the wooden leg and began to wonder whose audacity and boldness it could be, they both agreed that they had narrowly missed death. Wajir Khan pulled the arrow out with a trembling hand. Raja Ajmerchand of the nearby hill states who had turned an ally of the mughals saw the arrow and recognised it. “This can only be an arrow of (Guru) Gobind Singh, look it has gold mounted on it. It belongs to no one except the Guru. But it is hard to tell from where the Guru has aimed the arrow from?” The Raja of Mandi at this point interjected, “The Guru is very brave, he must have shot it from atop of the fortress.” Zabardast doubted this as the fortress was nearly two miles away. The Raja of Mandi replied “ Two miles is nothing Guru Ji’s arrows are known to go a lot further.” Upon this Wajir stretched out his hands offering his grateful thanks to heaven for sparing his life. All the military generals the officers present there began to admire the speak highly of Guru Ji’s chivalry and valiant conduct. They had hardly recovered from the shock of the first arrow, when a second came hissing by and hit the same leg of the manji again. The very sight of the second arrow put all the officers to flight. After a few moments they came out from under their hiding places. A piece of paper was found tied to the second arrow. Zabardast Khan gingerly untied it and read the Persian script. “It is no miracle. It is a single art of marksmanship. I am not in favour of performing miracles nor do I intend to take the lives of Zabardast and Wajid Khan. You are labouring under the false notion that the first arrow has shot to kill either of you.” Thus the all knowing Guru knew the thoughts of the mughal officers. THE ABOVE EXTRACT IS PRECEEDED BY THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPHS... Every arrow of Guru Gobind Singh Ji was mounted with half an ounce of gold. Its object was to alleviate the suffering of the victim. Should the person aimed at be wounded then he could sell the gold for medicine. Should the mark prove fatal, then the gold could be used to aid the deceased family. Two specimens of these arrows are preserved. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  15. While there are differing measures of the gold on these arrows, historical accounts and physical inspections confirm that each arrow had at least 10 grams of gold. M.A. Macauliffe puts the value of the gold on these arrows at sixteen rupees each. Akaal Sahai.

  16. Care to elaborate or is relying on an image and some unsubstantiated comment underneath enough to support your argument? Looks like even the person writing the comment above is not sure when the spear incident was supposed to taken place. Between 1920 and 1940 - twenty years is a long time. Interesting also how the ones who are accused of having done this are termed 'followers of Babu Teja Singh Bhasauria" He was excommunicated by the SGPC in 1928. At least the person who wrote the above comment could have gained a bit more credibility by shortening the length of time to between 1920 and 1928.

  17. My last point, I just want to clarify. Total BS and something that can only come from someone who didn't live through those times. The only ones who viewed Santji as a terrorist were the ones who were always against him from the start such as the extremist Hindus, the Congressis, the leftists and the cultists like the Nirankaris. The common Sikhs never viewed Santji as a terrorist either before or after 1984. If your elders did then they must have some connection with the ones I listed above because no common Sikh in 1984 believed that Santji was a terrorist. This is not BS. Ask the regular joe blow in the pind after the attacks outside of those involved in the morcha. Only recently with the age of the internet that clarification has happen. Shoot I even know people. I actually know people who thought Sant Ji ran away (obviously not true). These are people who grew up and lived in Panjab at the time. Hell I even have elders who still call Kharkus atvaadi. You know I don't give a rats ar%e what Santa Singh did for his own organisation, if he wanted to be respected by the rest of the Panth then he needed to show what his contributions were to the whole of the Panth. And stop with your Budha Dal is the Panth bukwas. It might impress ignorant kids who have never actually done any research but it doesn't impress me. Budha Dal is the panth. The Nihang is the true form of Khalsa. You know it, I know it. Point blank simple. You stated in one of the other posts that the Nihangs could not openly come out with their guns because Punjab was under lockdown. You do know that hundreds if not thousands of Sikhs had started to march to the Durbar Sahib as soon as they learned that the army was attacking. These people were machine gunned from helicopters mercilessly while your Jathedar of 90 crore Khalsa with licensed firearms was sitting in his chaoni afraid to even go out because the military was in control. I don't remember saying this? Could you quote that. I was talking about Nihangs walking around with illegal firearms. It's heat. If the newspapers were misquoting him they could so easily have been exposed by him making a statement himself. The fact is he never did. The views expressed by him in the magazines were his views then, if he changed his views after then that doesn't make any difference. The fact is he was happy to be Indira Gandhi's puppet. Once again, it's the 80s, two months after the attack. If the government had Baba Nihal Singh Ji Nihang, one of Sant Jis closest companions, say what he said after the attacks I don't put it past the Indian media after two months of the attack to put whatever out. SGPC as illegitimate because it functions under govt control while Santa Singh claimed to be sovereign in his own right and yet had to follow the govt rules of firearms licences. You are either a part of the system or you are not. SGPC are illegitimate because it is based on voting and elections bakwas bro not some government bakwas. Elections are anti-Sikhi. It was the Akali Dal and Longowal which betrayed the morcha in the end. Santa Singh had been a Congressi Nihang since the early 1970s and he remained one until the end. Is SGPC not basically Akali Dal's chela? I consider the two organizations synonymous. Since the early 70s? If he was a Congressi what's this? Baba Santa Singh Ji 96k Buddha Dal talking about Indira Gandhi & the SGPC. - YouTube Again where was the clarification, whenever the newspapers misquoted Santji he always made sure that he told the Sangat what the real facts were. Newspapers such as Ajit and Akali Patrika would publish these clarifications. Santa Singh did no such thing. Either he was incredibly naive or he was playing the government's game, both don't do much for his reputation. Valid criticism. But then again this was two months after the attack. My idea kinda reinforces what I said earlier. I just don't consider this article reliable at all, especially after the time it was made and the media efforts after the attack. That's just my opinion. Like I said before, we have to agree to disagree. Aside from the insults, dope argument though, not something I expected to engage in during a conversation about Baba Sahib Singh Ji Kaladhari.

It is interesting that the ones who fought for Israel and created Israel (secular-leftists) were the ones who would be equated to MONAS in Sikhi and the ones who would be KHALSA among the Jews (orthodox) were the ones who were against Israel and some still make common cause with the Palestinians today to deny the right of Israel to exist.

  20. I'm done with this argument man, this is just going to go around in circles. All I'm going to say is that if we expect Panthic unity to ever happen, we gotta stop disrespecting other jathas Mukhis/Jathedars and Mahapurakhs in general. Just creates a cycle of non-sense and nindya, something I don't want to engage in. You wanna engage in nindya go ahead.

  23. This is the type of reaction you get from brain dead people who will believe that someone is a Mahapurkh without even bothering to see what that person has done which has elevated him to such a position. The person this guy thinks is a Mahapurkh is someone who allowed himself to be used by Indira Gandhi and who was doing 'kar sewa' against the wishes of the entire Sikh people while the army which had murdered hundreds of pilgrims were walking around wearing shoes and smoking and drinking and providing him protection. LET THAT SINK IN. Knowing how the Nihangs of old used to treat anyone even threatening to smoke in their presence, the fact that this 'mahapurkh' was ok with Indian army walking around smoking just shows how much of a Gaddar he was.

  24. does sangat here think nihangs were corrupted by the time sgpc came into being their history is very incoherent during british raj, from being wiped to verge of extinction by british after battle of sabraon and emigrating to sri hazur sahib, to being in control of sri akal thakt and fighting for sikh rights to bear arms many say nihangs retained a presence in the akal bunga, but then how can they let mahants place idols inside parkarma, let british set sri darbar sahib up for auction in 187?, or let discrimination against dalit war veterans from entering sri darbar sahib, etc. what are your thoughts on baba sahib singh ji and his encounter with sgpc
    1 point
  25. 1Anonymous1 so bhai sahib, you agree with the nihang singh side of this? we are lucky enough to have some singhs in dals still alive from the 30s and 40s and 50s if not those times, so research and preservation of the dal's side of the history is atiant jaruri. I feel like this event is central to the broad traditionalist vs. reformist schism throughout history which has been as llight as mutual respect between Akali Phula Singh ji and Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and as raging as singh sabha movements of Amritsar and Lahore, to the eroded history between Baba Binod Singh/tat khalsa and Baba Banda Singh bahadur to date with missionaries and puratan dals/sampardayi with sgpc in the middle this part of history is confusing, cuz it would villainize either the Babbar Akalis or the diminish the honour of Shrimoni Akali Panth Buddha Dal and I certainly do not want to open old wounds of bad blood

  27. Sorry, it might have been me not reading the thread properly. You know I just flicked through Parchian now and couldn't find the shooting arrows in the table leg sakhi myself? Maybe need to read it more closely or maybe I got sources mixed up? I tried looking on PDL a few times in the past for the original Gurmukhi of parchian but never found it. You know I find it remarkable that at this point in time, Sikhs haven't done a serious, indepth study of the sources of many of the sakhis we grew up. They just seem to be 'out there' but we are overdue a closer look at our earliest written ithihaasic sources and a clear exposition of the sources of our sakhis. I know a few have been occluded too. Apparently Bhai Vir Singh didn't include any of the sakhis about Bidhia Chand in his edition of Bhangu's Panth Prakash. I think we'll find out so much that we don't know when such a serious study of early sources takes place. But it is no easy task as we have such a variety of language therein, like Khari Boli, Braj Bhasha, and mixtures involving the lexicon of various languages, plus the use of now archaic words.

  31. Theres no probably about it. It was real. After the anglo-sikh wars, all sikh soldiers had to turn in their weapons to the gore. Those who refused had to go baagi. They became the dakus of those times. (Theres actually a very well written fictiinalized account of the time. The book is called Teja Singh. I forget the author. But the author interviewed the elder generation from maharja ranjits singhs time and after and used that to base his novel on. Its really poignant and describes the last days of the raj too) And after citing our religious requirements, gore probably allowed 6 inch kirpans...

  32. That's not true is it. If we look at original manuscripts (puratan granths, hukam namas etc.) it says Singhs were instructed to carry panj hathiar, one of which was a bandook. That just carrying a blunt kirpan is a VERY modern thing, obviously put in place by goray in their objective to disarm Singhs (probably). Here's MK:

Fact at that time anyone hanging around with that pappi were just as complicit in the torture and murders.

  34. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangatji please take the time to post stories/katha about jaaping Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji so that we can gain inspiration to accomplish the One Million Jaaps. Ill begin. *Veer Pjs please can you make this a sticky and post some translated katha on Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji* The Making Of A Brahmgyani Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In Guru Jis darbar Bhai Surinder Singh Ji (a kirtani from Baba Bakala who was well known at one time (before the advent of tape recorders in Punjab)) narrated the following story to the sangat when he was asked about the importance of naam japna. One time Bhai Sahib and his Jatha were travelling around Uttar Pradesh and had reached Lucknow the states capital. On the Prakash Diwas Gurpurab of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj the Gurudwaras committee had arranged a one week kirtan programme and had requested that Bhai Sahib and his Jatha partake in this mahaan seva. In this way Bhai Sahib and his Jatha sang the praises of Akaal Purakh for one week at the Gurudwara Sahib in Lucknow. After the ardas on the final day of the programme Bhai Sahib was approached by an elderly hindu lady called Mata Dhian Dev who had accompanied a Sikh family to the programme. Mata Ji told Bhai Sahib that she had never heard such beautiful bhajans before and that she had been deeply moved by the love and peace of the house of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. With tears in her eyes she requested Bhai Sahib and the sangat to come and hold a kirtan programme at her house. Although Bhai Sahib and his jatha were meant to leave for Punjab later that night Bhai Sahib being a beloved of Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji acceded to her request immediately and said that they would come to her house. The next day Bhai Sahib and the Sangat from the Gurudwara Sahib arrived at Matajis house. Mataji with the help of her relatives had cleared all the furniture from her house and had put white sheets everywhere in preparation for their arrival. For six hours Bhai Sahib and the Sangat sang the praises of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. At the end of the kirtan as Bhai Sahib was about to leave Mata Dhian Dev quickly got up, took hold of his hand and said, Gyaniji please give me a mantar from this path of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Bhai Sahib smiled and told Mata Dhian Dev that he could not give her such a mantar as only the Panj Pyarai could do that. Mata Dhain Dev listened to this and then said, You have sung so many bhajans here and at the Gurudwara Sahib please give me any mantar from one of these bhajans. Bhai Sahib once again explained that the mantar Mata Dhian Dev was seeking could only be obtained from the Panj Pyarai. He then began to explain in detail the life of a Gursikh and the Amrit Sanchar but Mataji kept asking him to provide her with a mantar. Finally Bhai Sahib told her to repeat Guru Sahibs mool mantar from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach as many times as she could. Mataji got up and went to her room and came back holding a mala in her hand. While showing Bhai Sahib her mala she told him that every day she uses it to repeat the name of Shiva and asked if she could use this mala to repeat the mantar he had given her. Bhai Sahib smiled and said yes. Mataji then asked Bhai Sahib how many times she should repeat the mantar. Bhai Sahib said that she should repeat the mool mantar as many times as she could. A few years after this Bhai Sahib and his jatha visited Lucknow once again to peform kirtan seva. After the programme Bhai Sahib saw the same secretary who was there the last time they had visited the Gurudwara Sahib. Bhai Sahib talked to the secretary for a while and then asked him about the wellbeing of Mataji. When Bhai Sahib did this the secretary didnt say anything for some time. After a while Bhai Sahib asked if she had passed away. The secretary looked at Bhai Surinder Singh Ji and said, No Gyaniji, Mataji has not passed away but has become a Brahmgyani. Bhai Sahib was taken aback by this and decided to go and visit Matajis house. When he reached her house the front door opened and he was greeted by a beautiful Khalsa decorated in Guru Jis dastar and bana who with folded hands loudly uttered, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. The beautiful khalsa adorned with Gurujis pure dastar, bana and shahstars was none other than Mata Dhian Dev who had now become Mata Dhian Kaur a beloved daughter of Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji eyes began to well up in tears. He was soon caught in Mata Dhian Kaur Jis loving embrace. After taking a few moments to compose himself Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji immediately sat Mataji down who with both hands did a benti for Bhai Sahib to do Kirtan. Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji smiled and said that of course he would do Kirtan but before that he wanted to hear how a few years ago he had left a Hindu mother only to find a beautiful Khalsa mother in her place. Mataji nodded her head and then began to speak, Do you remember all those years ago when I asked you to give me a mantar of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj? You immediately told me to go and see the Panj Pyarai to be blessed with Naam. I quickly dismissed this and after much insistence you agreed to write out the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj for me. The day you left I sat down and began to recite Sri Mool Mantar Sahib from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach using my mala. I used to sit down everyday like this and became lost in this practise. Eventually minutes became hours and hours became days. I used to take my mala everywhere with me. Slowly even my mala disappeared until the only thing I could hear, see, feel or think about was Gurujis Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. Wherever I looked I began to see Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jis Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. It was everywhere and within everything from the floor to the walls, trees, birds, skies and beyond. One day while reciting Sri Mool Mantar Sahib I felt my conscious pulled inwards and was met by four people whose faces were covered. They were dressed in dark clothes and were carrying a throne that was held in place with two long sticks. They told me to climb on to the throne and said that they would carry me to wherever I wanted to go. I quickly got onto that throne. They took me to many places each which was more beautiful than the next and asked me if I liked any of them. I was told not only to look at each place but also to get of the throne and wander around those places. After wandering around for a while I would come back to them and say is there nothing else? Is there no land where only Gurujis Sri Mool Manatar Sahib resounds? Eventually I was taken to a place that I cannot describe. Outside of this place resided all the devis, devtas and other beings. They were all waiting outside hoping to gain entry to this place. Some were sweeping others were performing other types of seva… I dont know what happened then but the next thing I knew I was inside this very place. I found myself sat in satsang surrounding by men and women with moon-like faces that were dressed in blue and kesri and decked with sarabloh weapons. In front of all these people sat the most beautiful person I have ever seen. The only way I can describe his beauty is that he was the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib itself After sitting here for a while I was approached by a tall person who had a long flowing beard, was dressed in blue and carried a long stick. This person asked me what are you doing here? I looked at him and said what do you mean? I have recited the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj I have every right to be here. I dont know what happened next but I found myself in front of Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji himself who said that I had to leave this place. I began to cry and eventually Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji told me that he would give me another chance and that I would have a certain time to ensure that I secure my place in his court. I dropped towards the floor and placed my head at his charankamal. When I raised my head I found that my face was covered with a white sheet and that people around me were uttering, Ram Nam Satya Hai (the name of Rama is True). I immediately got up and began to tell people around me that I wasnt dead but very much alive. They were all in shock. I immediately ran towards the Gurudwara Sahib and asked the Granthi Singh over there to arrange an Amrit Sanchar for me. He told me that in due course one would be arranged but when I narrated my story to him with Guru Sahibs blessings the Amrit Sanchar was arranged for that day itself. Only Guru Sahib and Mata Dhian Kaur knew how much time that he had given her. Singh sajo Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh   How An Abused Muslim Boy Became The President Of Pakistan Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time Sardar Meherban Singh Ji went to see Muhammad Ayub Khan (the president of Pakistan) at his house. After talking for a while Bhai Sahib noticed a plaque on the wall in which he saw Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji written in Gurmukhi and Urdu. Bhai Sahib looked at Ayub Khan and said, Why have you got the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on your wall? Ayub Khan smiled and said, Sardarji this Kalaam of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj has made me what I am today. ik oa(n)kaar sath naam karathaa purakh nirabho niravair akaal moorath ajoonee saibha(n) gur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. O Nanak, Forever And Ever True. ||1|| Ayub Khan said, I was beaten everyday by the Mulla in charge of the Madrasa. One day I had had enough and after being beaten very badly decided to run away from the Madrasa. I ran as far as I could. I finally stopped (at the only place in this world that is open to every single creature) the house of Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. I sat outside on the steps of the Gurudwara Sahib and began to sob. As I was doing this I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw the beautiful face of a Naam Abiyhaasi Gursikh. The Gursikh looked at me and said, Yuba why are you crying today? I wiped the tears from my face and said, Babaji I cant take this anymore! Everyday I go to the Madrasa just to be beaten by the Mulla. My heart, mind and body is broken. I dont know what to do! The Gursikh smiled at me and said, Yuba I will give you the Mool Mantar of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Whenever you have any difficulties in life repeat this Mool Manatar of Guruji. I looked at the Gursikh as he wrote the Mool Manatar in urdu and proceeded to teach it to me. After repeating the Mool Mantar together for a few minutes the Gursikh told me to go back to the Madrasa. With hope in my heart I went back to the Madrasa. As I was doing this I realised that I was late and that the Mulla would be very annoyed but I still repeated this kalaam of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. When the Mulla saw me he looked at me and said, Oh, so youve come. Quickly sit down we have a lot to get through. I was so surprised that he didnt tell me to stand in one spot, or grab me by my ears, slap me or use the long stick he used to keep to beat me with! This was the first time in my life that I had not been beaten by the Mulla. From this moment I realised the power of this kalaam of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and quickly committed it to memory. Anytime I had any difficulties in life I repeat it. In this way I came to be the President of Pakistan. Having felt its power I tell my children to keep hold of this kalaam. Akho Satnaaam Sri Waheguru. This story is recorded in Ayub Khans autobiography. The Gursikh who narrated this story to the sangat says that he has this story pasted on his wall so that everyday when he wakes up and looks at it it gives him a slap across his face. While writing this I feel that same slap. May Guru Sahib bless us with the ability to repeat his Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. ik oa(n)kaar sath naam karathaa purakh nirabho niravair akaal moorath ajoonee saibha(n) gur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. 35. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One day, I woke early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Ah... the beauty of Waheguru's creation is beyond description. As I watched, I praised Waheguru for His beautiful work. As I sat there, I felt the Lord's presence with me. He asked me, "Do you love me?" I answered, "Of course, Waheguru! You are my Lord and Support!" Then He asked, "If you were physically handicapped, would you still love me?" I was perplexed. I looked down upon my arms, legs and the rest of my body and wondered how many things I wouldn't be able to do and thought about the things that I take for granted. I answered, "It would be tough Waheguru, but I would still love You." Then Waheguru said, "If you were blind, would you still love my creation?" How could I love something without being able to see it? Then I thought of all the blind people in the world and how many of them still loved Waheguru and His creation. So I answered, "It's hard to think of it, but I would still love you." The Waheguru then asked me, "If you were deaf, would you still listen to my word?" How could I listen to anything being deaf? Then I understood. Listening to Waheguru's Word is not merely using our ears, but our hearts. I answered, "It would be tough, but I would still listen to Your word." Waheguru then asked, "If you were mute, would you still praise My Name?" How could I praise without a voice? Then it occurred to me, Waheguru wants us to sing from our very hearts and souls. It never matters what we sound like. And praising Waheguru is not always with a song, but when we are persecuted, we give Waheguru praise with our words of thanks. So I answered, "Though I could not physically sing, I would still praise Your Name." And Waheguru asked, "Do you really love Me?" With courage and a strong conviction, I answered boldly, "Yes Waheguru! I love You because You are the one and true God!" I thought I had answered well, but Waheguru asked, "Then why do you sin?" I answered, "Because I am only human. I am not perfect." "Then why in times of peace do you stray the furthest? Why only in times of trouble do you pray the earnest?" I had no answers, only tears. Waheguru continued. "Why seek Me only in times of worship? Why ask things so selfishly? Why ask things so unfaithfully?" The tears continued to roll down my cheeks. "Why are you ashamed of Me? Why are you not spreading the good news? Why in times of persecution, you cry to others when I offer My shoulder to cry on? Why make excuses when I give you opportunities to serve in My Name?" "You are blessed with life. I made you not to throw this gift away. I have blessed you with talents to serve Me, but you continue to turn away. I have revealed My Word to you, but you do not gain in knowledge. I have spoken to you but your ears were closed. I have shown My blessings to you, but your eyes were turned away. I have sent you servants, but you sat idly by as they were pushed away. I have heard your prayers and I have answered them all. Do you truly love me? I could not answer. How could I? I was embarrassed beyond belief. I had no excuse. What could I say to this? When my heart had cried out and the tears had flowed, I said, "Please forgive me Lord. I am unworthy to be Your child." The Lord answered, "That is My nature, My child." I asked, "Then why do you continue to forgive me? Why do You love me so?" The Lord answered, " Because you are My creation. You are my child. I will never abandon you. When you cry, I will have compassion and cry with you. When you shout with joy, I will laugh with you. When you are down, I will encourage you. When you fall, I will raise you up. When you are tired, I will carry you. I will be with you until the end of days, and I will love you forever." Never had I cried so hard before. How could I have been so cold? How could I have hurt God as I had done? I looked up at my Lord, and asked him "how much do you love me, Waheguru?" Our father Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji gave up his whole family and everything he ever had for us! This is how much Waheguru loves us Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  36. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh, Jagtar Singh Ji are these conferences ever recorded by the federation? If so where can I get hold of them? Would really like to see what was discussed in detail and by who. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

  37. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh Good to see lots of señor speilbergolike Singhs. I agree we don't need to spend lots of maya on a high octane all-action film to depict the events of the sikh genocide. This can and has been achieved very successfully by others through good acting, dialogues and camera work. Btw I never appreciated acting until I saw the film Act of Valor - they chose to use real navy seals as opposed to actors. Shockingly bad - I never walk out of the cinema but that day was the closest I've come. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

  38. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh, Of course it's against rehat. Can you imagine a Gursikh working at a barbers shop or a brothel? You have the whole summer off. Looking for a job is all well and good but you have all your life to work and earn maya. Why don't you spend your summer at the Gurudwara Sahib doing seva, or do a 40 day jaap of Sri Gurmantar Sahib Ji/Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji, learn something about our amazing history, philosophy and theology. 40. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh, How does one go about bringing change in the management of the Gurudwara Sahib? Do we have to enter the 'committee' and influence them in that way or do we try and stand up as a sangat and bring change as the morchas did in the early 1920s? I recently attended an election at a gurudwara sahib - ending up leaving fairly promptly but was later told by one of the Singhs that the votes actually outnumbered the sangat gathered there!?! The saddest thing I find is that there is never any objectives or goals stated at these meetings. Therefore when the next election is held you can never see if the committee achieved their targets etc. How on earth can any organisation function in this way? Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

  41. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh, If you wanted to 'setup' a darbar sahib at home - essentially a room for pothi sahibs/to do abhiyaas/kirtan/simran - how would one go about doing this? What things would you need? Where can you get these from? Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh
