it was more than acceptable for Singhs to have multiple wives, because Singhs are supposed to be kshatriya. There were also other common practices such as marrying your brothers' widow, and widow remarriage, marrying rescued women that are not accepted back by their families. Fighting wars required multiple wives, many sons,uncles, male family members would get shaheed, such as Bhai Mani Singhs' sons from both his wives, and his uncles during Guru Hargobind ji. Add this to higher mortality rates, people died younger, just look at the ages most Guru jis lived to, women had difficult giving birth, there were risks to women dying during birth, higher infant mortality rates, children were at much greater risk from dying from a childhood illness. All these factors compounded with wars, it made a lot of sense to marry multiple women! And during 1947, 1984 and the dharmi faujis of the 1990s, its still made a lot of sense to have multiple wives, but only if your family was going to be armed and trained! Compare this to sikhs and amrit dharis who have multiple girlfriends and exes, and don't get married until into their late 20s and 30s, we are behaving in a really pathetic non-warrior non kshatriya way! If you're making the excuse of not getting married because you are studying, and then you make a girlfriend or multiples during that time anyway, THEN Singhs should just get married, and all the excuses for not getting married are lame and bringing down the whole panth. There are two types of people who read/listen to SriGurpartap Suraj Granth… 1. Gurmukh Jogi 2. Manmukh Bhogi The first type of person will listen to Gursikhs of Samparda ( the lineage of Sikhs from Guru Sahiban). These people will do immense Abhiyaaas of Naam and seva. They will follow and adhere to a very strict code of conduct at all times. These people will not take any scriptures at face value. Their immense Abhiyaas and sangat of great Gurmukhs will teach them to become a Hans ( a hans can separate milk from water). This is a metaphor for seeing the deeper meaning and moral behind a story. These people will learn to se the wider picture in every situation… Sadly, there are many people who are of the mindset where they see filth in everything. These people have not done any sangat of samparda Gursikhs. These people are self taught…

- Agriculture is no longer the dominant industry in Punjab. The dominant industry is surely IELTS test prep. They use different kinds of Punjabi/Hindi words for certain things than my parents did, and they constantly insert English words into Punjabi sentences (even when there are perfectly good Punjabi words they could use). They also abuse English words. For example, if they say someone easily gets "mixed-up," they don't mean to say that they get easily confused. They mean that that person "mixes well" socially with others. They also say things in cringe-worthy ways like: "tension naa lai." - Somehow, every person I came across who remotely knew of my family also knew I was unmarried and knew of some kuri who was interested in acquiring a green card ... I mean, interested in marrying me.

Speaking for real, in modern times our faith is heavily-centric to Punjab and Punjabi issues. There are more talks on Punjab in Punjabi in Gurdwaras than the issues aam bande have wherever they live. If all the people in the Gurdwara are Punjabi, all the talks are in Punjabi, and we are talking about Punjab; why would average Gora or Kalla want to join? What made people like Jugraj Singh unique was that he didn't make the focus on a place far-away and focused on what the average bande living in UK actually needed, spiritual growth, also even when he did speak about Sikh issues; he always made the focus on what we can actually achieve instead of talking about goals that average Sikh likely can't achieve. If tomorrow someone wanted to learn about Jesus Christ or Muhammad, they could do so in pretty much every language with people from every ethnic group, but if tomorrow we want to learn about Guru Sahib, our only options are in Punjabi and only recently English, otherwise we just learn "Someone born in Talwandi and who traveled a lot as a good man".

In our tradition, we consider men and women as equals. There were female warriors who fought in battles. Our women are not a passive bunch. However, does this make our women lose aspects of their femininity and make them more masculine?

These things are all just methods to infiltrate the panth by outsiders. In the end, the fudhoos who join these groups have more loyalty to their weird lodge 'brothers' than anyone else. They are tools. In theory we may consider them equal but are they treated so? Punjab has one of the worst levels of female foetocide in India. Gianis are all men, in the west the Katha and Kirtan are all done on the men's side of the gurdwara, the committee members are all men. There has never been a female chief minister in Punjab or the head of a political party. Having some historical female warriors like Mai Bhago, Joan of Arc, Boudica does not tell you anything about the attributes of the wider female population of a group. Sikh women in India are very feminine. This is false. Deepa was a Singh when he joined the movement. He cut his kesh a few years later once his notoriety had grown in order to avoid arrest. I don't condone cutting kesh under any circumstances, and I think Jinda, Sukha and Deepa were wrong to do so (having said that, I still respect them and their contributions ... they are quami shaheeds) On the other hand, I strongly dislike monay rewriting history and pretending that a substantial percentage of kharkoos came from their ranks. My knowledge also come from Giani Thakur Singh Ji's katha as well: Sant Ji started off with 5 Japji Sahibs daily when he was a kid with hukam of his father and maintained a nitnem of around 100 japji sahibs later on. He also did chalisa 2-3 times where he would do bhajan bandgi 22 hours everyday for 40 days, sometimes making a bed of thorns and stones to lie down for 2 hours, He ended up leaving his body on the 40th day , but was sent back from sachkhand, and had darshan of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He would leave his body at night and stay in sachkhand till morning. He would wash kachere /clothers/utensils/shoes of other Singhs at night when no one was looking. This is all what I heard in katha. There is much more we prolli don't know about.

Gyani thakur singh ji patliawale talks about sant ji bhagti in their katha...so far this is what i have gathered from their katha: - Sant Ji did 22 hrs-23 hrs of gurbani naam abhyaas very day on top of nitnem...they very fond of anand sahib... *Those who have doubts hows that possible, basically when shabad jot or shabad pure consciousness consumes one or takes over or when one dies in shabad pure consciouness.....it takes over all the body needs, gives energy/refreshment to body instead of regular human body nourishment like water, food or sleep etc - Sant Ji had darshan of sri guru gobind singh maharaj at hazoor sahib where he was given agya to start dharam yudh morcha. This one below i heard from another senior gurmukh: - Once panthic vidvans came to sant ji prior to dharam yudh morcha to discuss about sri dasam granth arths..they were astonished to see how much parkash or tej/jvala anubhav parkash flowed through sant ji had when sant ji did arths of dasam granth, it was pure spontaneous antriv arths in nature which they never heard before, it was pure anubhav parkash (avastha of bhramgyani) which flowed through them..not sure which composition of sri dasam granth it was..

Shaheed Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda & Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Sukha were not Amritdhari from day one. When they cut their Kes to carry out the Seva they actually cried because they felt really bad for doing so. When they were in Jail, they grew their Kes and begged for Amrit. However, they never received Amrit, but were told by Baba Thakur Singh Ji "no government or power in this world can prevent you from receiving the gift of Amrit. Baba Ji then said that, the king of kings, the saint of saints, that beautiful king of this world and the next Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj would give these two Singhs Amrit personally hereafter." Some people are very anti Kharkhoo Singh because they think the Singhs were too much into siphai part but not the sant part of Sikhi. These two amazing souls had a nitnem of 16-18 hours long. It is said that they were reading 11 Sukhmani Sahib, 25 Japji Sahib and 7 Bania (Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tav Prasaad Savaiya Sahib, Chaupee Sahib, Anand Sahib, Rehraas Sahib and Kirtan Sohila Sahib) daily!!!
