  1. Lol..thanks for the advice people.
  2. Is there any way of 'formatting' your photo before putting it on Hi5 to prevent people clicking on it and saving it. I'm paranoid that if i put my photo on hi5 some loser out there is gona put it on websites like shaadi.com lol.
  3. What does 'Arya samaaj' mean? I've never heard of it.
  4. Yeah I think that the reason why you get braces is the key. If the crooked teeth are making it difficult to brush or eat then yes...braces are justified as they will improve your dental health. More commonly people want braces to appear more attractive (research shows that unattractive teeth have a negative effect on potential partners, employers etc) and to improve their self-esteem. If this is the reason for braces then I don't think they are allowed in Sikhi. By the way I want to point out that crooked teeth are quite normal. They are not a disease that needs to be 'fixed'.
  5. Join the club...i hate revision too. A good thing to do is imagine yourself in a cap and gown at the end of your course, that's what pushes me. Motivation is the key. Once you feel motivated, concentration comes itself. All the best.
  6. Caffeine IS an intoxicant and it's addictive.
  7. I was just wondering..all of you that are amritdhari, do you guys have caffeinated drinks? Also, I've heard of amritdhari students who go to clubs and get high on red bull instead of alcohol. Surely that's being contradictory?
  8. Davinder paaji said ''the times i beleive are set for panj baania''. At what times should the panj baania be done and how much leeway is there?
  9. Thanks for all the advice...it was very helpful. I used to do Kirtan Sihilaa years a go and i almost know it off by heart. So i've restarted doing Sohilaa and i'm going to do at least 1 pauri of Japji Sahib every morning too. My mum always told me that you should either recite a whole Bani or don't start it at all..i take it that that's not true? Thank's for the suggestion of Chaupai Sahib (Japmans)..I've listened to Chaupai Sahib. I need to first get it's english translation and then i'll try reciting it.
  10. Hi I'm a newbie on this site. Ever since starting uni life's become so busy (i'm doing a 9-5 mon-fri course and commuting which takes up 4 hrs) and so I haven't been actively reciting any Bani although I try and listen to Japji sahib / Mool mantar / Shabads on my I-pod while I'm commuting. I'd really like to start off by reciting at least one Bani everyday..which one would you recommend I begin with?
