  1. Bhen Ji you could format the iPod as a regular drive in My Computer > Right Click iPod drive letter > Format and then start again with iTunes. Or you could try Yamipod: http://www.yamipod.com/main/modules/home/ I hope thats of some use.
  2. Sunny, the Singhs called their fiances Bhen Jee because Anand Karaj had not yet been performed therefore in the eyes of Guru Jee they are still brother and sister ok? I have heard elder Gurmukhs say Veer/Bhen Jee for all people around their age, and Mata/Pita Jee for those considerably older, so that is what I do. They even address aloos like me with Tussi. There are similar threads with very good replies on other forums you can search for, as it might not be appreciated if I link directly to them. Edit: Singh = Amritdhari Male Sikh, Kaur = Amritdhari Female Sikh, Singhni = Wife of Singh.
  3. New look SikhSangat, same old <banned word filter activated> users.
  4. Bhen Jee, you rock. Thanks a lot :D , I knew you'd be the first to reply lol. Edit: Oh it's actually available here too : http://download.waheguroo.com/downloads/Bo...njabiprimer.pdf
  5. Please could someone upload the e-book somewhere else so that I can download and print it?
  6. He probably would have collapsed with embarassment I think, as he was with his entourage. But yeah, maybe next time I see a Singh on campus I'll try a bear hug lol and then in the shocked silence roar out a Fateh and ask CHARDIKALAA VEER JEEE!!!!??? We'll see what happens, and I'll report the results haha lol
  7. looool u shuld try that... :D i did it once at a park where i was playin football... lol i swear all i culd hear afterwards when he was tlkin 2 his mate was something along the lines of "millitant, teenage n acting like a badman with his (n check this out) 'knife'" looool it was fun though :D Yeah I tried it today lol, I saw a youngish Sardar across the street by the ATM and I put both those hands up together in the air followed by a frantic wave, totally ignored lol. And then, about 15mins later he walks into the cafeteria where I'm just sitting with my friends whilst they eat, and I give a big smile and he ignored that as well! LOL, Challo nevermind. Erm a "trim singh" is like a slang term for a man with a turban/patka who cuts his beard. I did not wish to cause offence with that, apologies if I did, it's just what they're commenly referred to as.
  8. Admin Sahib, I have noticed that it happens to me when I'm on the forum as normal and then I follow a link from Google or anywhere else to the forum and then try to carry on browsing normally from within www.sikhsangat.com. If that helps, I don't know :S
  9. Great thread, finally some pyaar :D . What's the verdict on shouting Fatehs at "trim Singhs"? lol
  10. What do you mean by that Veer Jee? Did something happen to Bhai Navreet Singh?
  11. Jasbir Kaur, that's a load of nonsense. You're saying it's OK to do Nitnem during Ishaan when your head obviously isn't covered but not whilst sitting down with a Gutka Sahib when your head isn't covered? And that it's OK to recite the name of God bareheaded but not to read Gurbani? Rubbish. Before you say, I'm not saying you go and do Akhand Paat roll bareheaded, but be sensible. If I (or anyone else with long thick hair) were to do what you are saying, I would probably have to do Simran for around 3 hours (which I should do anyway, anyway...) with my Kesh open so that they can dry properly and then tie my Dastaar become "saj baj keh thyaar bar thyaar" and then begin Nitnem? Or should I tie my Dastaar whilst Kesh are still damp and have my Dastaar and head feeling "icky" while I do Nitnem and all day after that? If this was an issue, Guru Sahib would have had a Rehat made out of it (with regards to my earlier post).
  12. Veer Jee, Naam has a power that we as are mere mortals cannot even begin to understand. If you read the translation of Jaap Sahib, all those qualities, Naam posseses. I'm sure Gursikhs can tell you many stories of seriously ill even dying people being healed by Naam, believe it or not, it happens. As for the world, that's up to Guru Sahib and in his hands, not for us to worry about, we can only do our best to follow Guru Sahib's teachings (which does mean serving humanity and being caring, but not about the world itself). Ok fine, you're smoking Cannabis now because you are genuinely using it for a medicinal purpose, but if you go on using it throughout your life (even after having taken Amrit) under the pretence of medicinal use (my head hurts, or I cut my finger oh let's blaze one up, to "keep going" for a school paper) you're only fooling yourself.I would also recommend you read up on Nimrata (humility) as well as Ahankar (ego). Oh, I was just curious, are you putting tobacco in your joints? Because if you are, that is totally not allowed in Sikhi medicinal or otherwise.
  13. Wow Veer Jee, if you're using Cannabis instead of Methadone to overcome your Heroin addiction then that's fine and good, but I would humbly request that you don't wear a Kirpan and put videos on youtube of you doing so, and please make sure you're totally clean before you take Guru Sahib's Amrit, and that you don't take any non-medicinal drugs after that! Including Cannabis after which you no longer use it for medicinal purposes, but may still have the idea that you are. ਮੇਰਾ ਬੈਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ॥ maeraa baidh guroo govi(n)dhaa || My physician is the Guru, the Lord of the Universe. The Guru is your Doctor, and the Naam is your medicine :D
  14. Haanji, as far as I know, according to Rehat, we are only supposed not to eat/distribute food, go outside, do any seva or lie down without a covered head. To my (extremely limited) knowledge there's nothing regarding doing Nitnem with/without your head covered, someone please say if there is. I personally like to keep my head covered very lightly with a Keski, chunni style, while my Kesh dry (sometimes take it off to shake Kesh and scalp otherwise they don't dry lol).
  15. JoDi Jee, I would say stick to Waheguru Jaap during ishnaan. After you're washed and dryed, sit down and begin Nitnem
