  1. The process of becoming a sikh. Some may agree or chose to disagree, that you cannot be born a sikh you have to adopt the charistics and beliefs of Sikhi to become a Sikh?, Again the same might apply to the Khalsa (amritdhari’s). What’s so different from a Sikh and the Khalsa ?
  2. In some sense the video has opened our eyes. That singh in the video clip should be hunted down and given the beating of his life. A 13 year old girl ? <admin-profanity filter activated>. Am really starting to feel anti hindu thesedays. i know i cant blame them all but to think this is what they really think of us. After all we have done for ther hindus in the past.
  3. Are you for real? When did this happen? Can’t believe it, has it become this bad. We can’t even protect and look after our own people. Things need to change and fast. Even a non religious person with a hint of lug for humanity would have come to her aid.
  4. I have a 3inch scar running from my eye to my cheek for helping an innocent white man during a robbery in canary wharf. Later i was taken to court for using excessive force againest the robber. It doesnt pay to defend / fight for the innocent. Would i do it again .... Yes but next time i would make sure the guy never woke up!.
  5. I have been to a Church before, felt strange but rewarding. I enjoyed the experience, felt uncomfortable to begin maybe because i am not use to the surroundings but that is expected. Church, Mosque, Gudwara and Temples are all houses of god. Please don’t confuse people with you experience/view. A non Sikh going to a Gudwara must feel the same, least you understood what was being said and had some understanding what to expect.
  6. Why don’t we just have one gudwara where all the sangat can go, instead of 4-5 in a small town/ city? Fair enough if they had some sort of historical representation then it’s understandable. But dout we do in the UK.
  7. I agree we need to make people aware of what’s going on around us. Issues affecting our Community. Most parents dont have aclue, long as it isnt effecting their family they are not concerned, what a poor attitude to have!. I have recently been in dialog with members of Leicester sangat a lot of the youth believe we need to take active steps to bring Sikh youths together as one. So we can educate build unity and help our community where able. We are looking to establish the Sikh Unity Network in the next few months. I will post details of meetings, akand paths and website links closer to the time. Would like to hear your point of view/ideas. Use force where necessary to clamp down on Sikh conversions/bullying? It is time we stood up and took action; we can worry all day long how violent actions may have a negative impact on the Sikh sangat, but its time we make people aware we can hold our own. Stand shoulder to shoulder, not just fight between us. Obviously we cant please everyone, people may think we are looking to follow the foot steps of sher-e Punjab and other groups in the past. My reply is we are looking to unity and educate the youth. Unity is the key! Education will help develop an interest in sikhi and help develop our community. Initially this will only be Leicester based. We have gathered a lot of interest. But need to iron out a few issues before we can proceed. Hope we establish more supporters then critics, either way it’s going to happen.
  8. Is the tourment not organised by the local gudwara communities. Would never happen in leicester.
