  1. Embarrassing http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/apr/22/indian-film-nanak-shah-fakir-cancelled-mass-sikh-protest
  2. Think of it this way, if you had a white coworker on the phone with another person being aggressive and having a 'white' name, and your coworker said "I don't like your language, especially coming from another white person", and you others overheard it, could it be seen as being racially exclusionary? The employer has every right to treat this matter equally for everyone, you were wrong to start preaching to the customer just because his birth religion so happens to be the same as the one you're practicing.
  3. Two wrongs don't make a right, is there a better way to resolve these things before resorting too the last resort? (as dictated IN OUR RELIGION!), absolutely, even if the right-wing SS send this little chumchoo to get some beatings, how do we end up looking to the rest of the world? They still succeed, these Singhs come off looking like a *EDITED*
  4. The Kaum has truly lost the plot, this is senseless bullying and goes against every principle.
  5. Jaspreet, after reading your lunatic rants in this thread, it's clear you have issues, go spend some time learning about Sikhi and not being an internet tough guy, you seem to have the mental capacity of a 5 year old having a temper tantrum. Grow up.
  6. Oh look, another keyboard warrior, safe to mock people behind a monitor isn't it? Regardless of your psuedo-insults, I have defended my dastar against thugs (more than one so I was outnumbered) without use of a weapon, let alone one that could result in manslaughter, had the thugs been armed, then it's more than appropriate to defend yourself through any means neccessary, this however was inappropriate use.
  7. Inappropriate use, the others were not armed, this was cowardly.
  8. In your eyes? Have you ever seen me? Quite the bold claim, explain how I'm a "secular fanatic"? If you're going to throw around accusations and your opinions, back them up or you sound like a complete coward.
  9. LOL, oh, I wasn't sitting around waiting, but knew it was coming....and alas... http://www.indiawest.com/news/15419-gap-ad-campaign-highly-sexualized--says-sikh-activist.html GAP Ad Campaign 'Highly Sexualized', Says Sikh Activist A Sikh activist is organizing a Dec. 5 rally in front of the GAP Store in Davis, Calif., to protest a new ad featuring jeweler Waris Ahluwalia and Quentin Jones that he believes is disrespectful to the Sikh community. GAP’s holiday season print ad campaign, “Make Love,” which is focused on giving and sharing love, according to a statement by the retail clothing giant, features several icons, including singers Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett and glam-queen Cyndi Lauper. Ahluwalia – of The House of Waris – and Jones are featured in one of the print ads, with the turbaned and bearded Indian American focused at the camera, as a waspy, bed-headed Jones has a hand on his dastaar and another on his open-necked shirt, which sprouts a bit of chest hair. 10. Grew up with Christmas trees, sang Christmas carols in school concerts, gave gifts etc. Yet, here I stand still a Sikh, people need to chill out.
  11. Just waiting for the angry frustrated "Singh" to post about how "he shouldn't be modelling and is doing beadbi by having such a big ego and being into fashion blah blah blah", because knowing this board, sadly, it's only a matter of time. Good on Gap.
  12. Are you serious? I'm starting to think "SinghBJ" is a troll. That or someone who is seriously disturbed (and pees in pools maybe?)
  13. Sadly I've read a lot of dumb and completely baseless things on this board, but congrats Big_Tera, your post has sky rocketed right to the top of the list.
  14. Prove that this order came from Guru Ji, I would love to see your proof.
  15. There are Hindu Bhagat's writings in The Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Kabir Ji was born in a Muslim family, they're religions led them to the light of Sikhi, Waheguru created many paths to the light, you cannot sit there and just take the negatives and the criticisms of those said religions to say they are false. What some followers of the religion do ARE false, there's plenty that Sikhs do which is false, to be so simple minded as to conclude that therefore they don't lead to Akal Purakh is a straw-man argument.
  16. The more threads I read on this site, the more it's sadly prevelant how pathetic things are getting, starting with the original post and reading the comments about it, unless the average age of all the posters here is 12 years old, Sikhi in the UK isn't looking too bright.
  17. The only way to be sure if this is in fact some GOI conspiracy isn't to be scrutinizing Brar, it's to find out all information historical and otherwise about these accused. Who are they? Where are they from? Are they known to their communities? If there's holes in their history as "Kaurs" and "Singhs", that string would unravel a GOI plot. (Mod Cut)
  18. ROFL!!!!! This quote is gold and basically summarizes your level of "thinking", quotes because I'm not sure if you're bright enough to see more of your own hypocricy. You'd have probably been better off going to the Muslim team; you've proven so far to not have a clue in regards to Sikhi; all you've proven to be is a laugh. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_city That list is your come-back? Have I ever compared Toronto's history to that of London's?!? Weak, so weak. Go get an education, you'll need it.
  19. Look, I don't know why your inferiority complex has you defending a country you live in (and hate at the same time), against a country I'm proud to live in which includes a Charter of Rights and Freedoms that fall very much in line with Sikhi values; which is probably why Sikhs are proud of BOTH their Sikhi and proud Canada's values are in line with theirs. Now, as for TRUTHS, let's look at the FACTS "bruvs", Quality of Life Index. Canada ranks fifth, your plot of land across the pond? Nineteenth, those are the facts. You also might want to research which country has a higher rate of immigration from the other country (I'll give you a hint, it's not Canadians flooding the UK). http://www.numbeo.com/quality-of-life/rankings_by_country.jsp But don't be discouraged, one step at a time "bruvs", maybe one day we can have this discussion, but in the meantime you might want to aim lower and say compare country standards with someone from, I don't know, howabout, Estonia :-)
  20. Laughable. This post is embarrasing, this is YOUR truth, aka your opinion, false on many aspects but I'm not going to get into a discussion with someone I'm assuming is a 14 year old; if you're not, you certainly come off as one.
  21. It's called having an inferiority complex, UK sangat's on this board is showing, I could rant on about how many UK Sikhs have immigrated here and thrived and gave examples of how many Canadians WANT to work in London, in the same context students want to study abroad, they want the experience but eventually move back home (Canada in this case); personally anytime I go to the UK it reminds me of a cleaned up far less populated India, way to cramped, generally unfriendly public and abysmal weather, but that's just me, to each their own.
