how about Waherguru (.tv) - if that's not misuse of the meaning I have a couple of suggestions for the channel is general also... 1) no stupid adverts being repeated on every break e.g. accident helpline ( no offence to these businesses, but they really put people off watching that channel) 2) a good mixture of programmes in english AND punjabi 3) no depression programmes - another turn off 4) programmes where people go to visit places i.e. like the videos you used to watch in R.E. lessons 5) programmes that improve people's understanding of culture, sort of like that programme "Around the world in 80 faiths"... brilliant! I'd like to emphasise this last point as i think there is a lot of confusion between traditions of faith and culture e.g. lohri, rakhiri etc One last thing, as much as I agree with having bani, kathak and whatever else has been mentioned in previous posts, majority of people will not take this on board without understanding how this will apply to their everyday life, hence why i mentioned the points above. P.S. I'm a young sikh, so if u want to cater for ages, I hope that helps in understanding a young person's view!

She actully went to universty to learn how to do Glass blowing. She now acctuly does that at Ruskins Glass Mill in Stourbridge. She can make customised items aswell. i usd 2 do kickboxing and hav friends hu do things lyk taekwondo and wing chung. martial arts r good if ur tryna grow and 4 discliplinary reasons also. truth is u cud learn woteva style u want buh at da end of da day if something happnd 2 u ur nt gna stand there thinkin wot move 2 do and if ur stance is perfect keyword- instinct

Firstly, I am female lol. Secondly, i understand what you guys have said, but was just expressing my opinion at the time. I just think, life is hard enough as it is; a main purpose of films is to act as an escape from reality, so usually there not meant to be realistic, or be completely correct as at the end of the day, it is just a film. ooh speaking of films, there was this one is saw about half of, a cartoon style educuational sikh film telling the history. Don't remember it much, except that there was a bit about the revolt against the mughals. does anyone know what i am on about; that was something worth watching?

waheyyyyy! finalli, i cn use RE in everyday life according to what is taught in GCSE RE abortion is bad in Sikihism but permisable if the mother or child's life is endangered. Also, if the mother has been raped and the baby conceived that way, as it can causes pschological issues etc. in the UK the 24 weeks thing might be changed to 21/22 weeks. I swear that still too late though, as there have been babies bron prematurely at 5 months and survived...5 months is 20 weeks!

depends wot u mean by Singh, as in an actual SIkh or bein punjabi... Akshay Kumar is punjabi (dats nt evn his real name!) so was Om Puri and i think Kiron Kher is. have to say though, at least bollywood are trying. If u flick through the channel alpha punjabi for example practically all the films are just based on violence and people in pindhs fighting 24/7 and quite literali killing each other brutally. Most punjabi films are unsuccessful, or simply no one cares in da 1st place! this film may be unsuitable and misrepresenting "apneh". so many people complain and never do anything about it in a productive manner. You may stop this film but wot about the next? Besides, wouldn't it be better if instead of trying to stop films like these, people made new ones that actually have a planned storyline so people would go to see them, instead of random bakwaas. That's why i never watch punjabi films, cos i cna guarantee 99% they will eitha be too violent/mushy/boring. anyway, u cannot blame bollywood, wosnt it them that made Gadar? that was a good film, wouldnt u agree?

I understand your point, but I'm actually in set 1 for english so really that comment doesn't apply to me oh and I just thought of another reason, the ones that actually need to learn the basics at the very least are the ones who bunk half the time and get away with it. Seriously, schools are just fake these days and only really care about their rep.

voted itz a waste of tym... am at skl stil and think da concept of skl iz gd but education iits self is 2 tym consumin and ppl and in general wud benefit if it woz mixd wiv otha stuff. I kno 4 a fact dat skl iz gettin harda, eg. I used 2 get 1 piece of hw in yr 3, my niece gets 3/4! Which may nt seem a lot, but bcos of all dis wrk, ppl dnt get 2 njoy themselves as much. you can argue it both ways.. Sikhism is quite literally what we call the group of beliefs, practises and concepts that we have. So you could apply the whole "____ existed before ___" thing to any religion technically People are acknowledged as Sikhs due to the name of the religion (duh ), but obviously there musta been people who shared the same/similiar arguments as us so reli a sikh is anyone who follows da suggestd lifesytle etc by the rehat maryada (cnt memba soz) 4 Sikhi 2 hav bn created, the ideas had 2 exist alredy,so i gues dat da answr

well as a young sikh i say evryone is at fault. families, gurdwaras, friends, da people themselves etc u name it evry1 is diffrnt; u cnt generalise ppl; its nt ryt, itz nt fair. u dnt kno their lifestory, so dont base ur view so loosely i myself cum from a family that dont cut hair. my dad is a sardar, altho in his earli days he used 2 trim his daari. with age cums wisdom and understandin; as i am experiencein myself. I use 2 nt cut my hair, but then used 2 trim it as i found it woz 2 long and dne hard 2 keep. recentli i cut it; stil long, but a gutth s nt my onli option nw. i wantd 2 go punjabi skl bcos my sistaz used 2 and i wntd 2 c wot it woz lyk. i h8td it until i gt in2 doin my GCSE which i completed with pride 2 years ago (i gt a B,woo!). it woznt until da last few years if learinin punjabi dat i actuli njoyd it and wntz 2 learn it; othawiz it woz cos i had 2. since i finishd i find dat i feel der shud b mor 4 young sikhs, so that we cn socialise and learn 2getha, altho my skl is mainly asian, i hav v. few sikh friends and i feel it. there is a lot of communty things 4 ppl in da midlands, and evn in southall, but they are all associated and controlld by da gurdwara. y dnt we hav ne youth clubs lyk gujjiz do, wher it cn b a relaxd environment but stil with restrictions?

herbal essence is rubbish, vosene stops working after a while, i use dove 2 in 1 and it works a treat! head and shoulders is pretty good too. of course it depends where you live and what your water is like, london water is pretty hard so its not so good for your hair but coventry (big up 2 cov!, luv da accent!) and water in general up north in the uk is soft and v. good how about taking care of your diet and getting a good tehl malish or 2 regulary!

well why cant the guy and the girl adopt the lifestyle/religion of their partner or at least accept it and live alongside it while staying truthful to their own religion. a good example of this (its th only one i can think of!) is shahrukh khan and his wife lol. he's muslim (duh) and she is hindu, but they bing their children up under both religions and as a result he has adopt some hindu things and i assume that she has done the same. can't this work? god knows how you decide what type of ceremony you use for the wedding though

yes yes the present day khanda has only been around for about 70 odd years (I learnt that from this site!), we should use it like any other symbol/logo in the sense that it should only be used according to who owns it- Sikhi has it copyrighted, so go make up your own symbol and stop doin badnami 2 this 1!

nobody in there right mind would take Utube seriously and as a reliable source. Hopefully we can trust that the general population watches BBC lol, and news programmes instead of da numerous vids on utube that are just plain bekwaas. Although there are some funny vids on Utube

first of all i would like ask what is a nindak (im only 15!). secondly, people who are saying that these people should be killed.. killing is supposably a type of punishment, but if the person is killed isn't that an easy way out of a real punishment for them? also, to those who are sayin this is turning into something similar to the situation with islam and those sort of muslims' mentality, if we start treating this like that then what makes our philosophy different to theirs; you can't be judge or be in a position to make comment if apneh are starting to do/think the same- thatz just plain hypocracy! oh and another thing, that type of mentality is based under culture not religion; so people who say "im doing this for my religion", "Im religious" or whatever, your not!
