  1. Nothing is beyond Hukm. Even effort is within Hukm. Your ego is making it harder for you to understand. Believing in Hukm doesn't mean stop doing effort. On our level, we must follow Dharam. But not only outcome, but doing Dharm too is part of Hukm. Accepting Hukm does not make you weak. It makes you stronger. It makes you realize that source of your strength is infinite.
  2. And Guru Amardas ji got Gurdaddi at the age of 72.
  3. you're very funny and smart. i have no answer for you. guru raakha.
  4. Just requesting. We don't have to be withing strict Sharia like Muslims. Gurus were liberal enough to include Muslim sufi bani in Guru Granth, but Sikhs of Guru can't even tolerate even slightly different understanding of Sikhi.
  5. Exactly. This man wants to modify sikhism on western lines. He thinks sikhi of Guru sahib should be moulded per western life style. He supports kala afghana and Darshan lal ragi. Isn't Sikhi of Dasam Granth different from Sikhi of Guru Granth? Remember two aspects, eternal and temporal. Guru Granth is eternal. Temporal is evolving. I tuck my beard in and wear pants. I drive car and do not ride horses. I wear modern pug, not dumalla. I read Gurbani on internet, not on Santhiyas. Satsang I can afford everyday is not real, but on internet. So as per yoru definition, am I not a Sikh?
  6. Why you forget, Panth and Granth. Granth is eternal. Panth need to take into account new realities. Dasam Pita asked for head. Did it happen ever before that? NO. Some of your brothers must be thinking that new Guru is tarnishing image of Guru Nanak. Take directions from eternal Guru Granth. Let Khalsa panth evolve with time without losing essence.
  7. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/4731303.cms Probe into Maharashtra's Muslim boy-Hindu girl marriages 3 Jul 2009, 0511 hrs IST, Sanjeev Shivadekar, TNN MUMBAI: Maharashtra’s criminal investigation department (CID) meant to probe high-profile cases will now investigate love affairs that have resulted in marriages between Hindu girls and Muslim boys. CID has been told to check whether Muslim boys are enticing Hindu girls as part of a ‘conspiracy’. Minister of state for home (rural) Nitin Raut had announced this in the assembly on the last day of Maharashtra’s budget session a fortnight back. Participating in a calling attention notice, Eknath Khadse and Devendra Fadnavis had said young Muslim boys in rural areas were wooing Hindu college girls and then marrying them. According to them, this was part of a ‘conspiracy’ to increase the population of the community. Khadse even alleged that some Hindu girls had been sent to Gulf. In his reply, Raut admitted such incidents were happening. ‘‘I will initiate an inquiry into this,’’ the minister had promised. But the opposition demanded that he order a CID probe as the issue was serious. Subsequently, Raut gave in to their demands. CID chief SPS Yadav said, ‘‘We have yet to receive the order. The first thing we will have to do is to check whether such an inquiry is in consonance with the CID manual. If not, we will inform the government about the norms,’’ he said. ‘‘If government persists, we will decide on how to carry out these investigations.’’ Raut’s announcement has not gone down well with his cabinet colleagues and leaders of the Muslim community. Senior NCP leader and labour minister Nawab Malik said BJP has political interest in raising such issues. Congress leader and minister of state for home (urban) Arif Naseem Khan said there is no provision in law where member of a particular community can be stopped from marrying a girl\boy of another community. ‘‘If any case where a girl\boy is pressurised into getting married to member of other community, the offender should be certainly punished,’’ he added. Refuting the allegations made by Malik and Khan, Fadnavis said, ‘‘Had we wanted to politicise the issue, we would have carried out morcha and protest, instead we demanded CID inquiry that shows that our intention was not to gain political mileage of the issue.’’
  8. It is not reply, it is explanation, so that belief in Hukam does not amount to weakness or fatalism in Sikhs.
  9. Before posting on this thread doing ninda of 3HO sikhs, go to your local Gurudwara and ask them where they spend their golak money? Ask them about number of people they have introduced sikhi to? Ask them how many program they are running for parchar? Start local! Please don't forget that Sikhnet.com is doing what hundreds of Gurudwaras in West failed to do (getting Guru's message across cultural boundaries).
  10. this guy was muslim from the start, he was just performing some taqqiah (shiites are allowed to impersonate and lie to propagate the faith). he was trying to prove that sikhs are similar to shiite muslims. he got some treatment and he became what he really was.
  11. These guys followed this Sant because he was of a same caste. This Sant was propagating Bhagat Ravidas's teachings just because of same caste. So now comes religion based on caste! You have to be doing leather business to join. These guys are setting up same system which Bhagat Ravidas fought against. Get a chapni nak dubaon layee!
  12. This article stated that the girl support islam eventhough her husband family do everything to throw her from family.. what the point you give the link? She is not supporting Islam, she is stuck in Islam. You don't have to jump boats to reach Lord. She does not want to give impression now that she converted for marriage. Most of girls like these are not Sikhs, but secular Punjabis, who happen to born into Sikh families. Bigger concern for them is finding suitable match for themselves than religion or God. On the other hand, Pakistanis raise their kids in strict atmosphere. They can miss a day at school, but Quran reading can't be missed. That is the reason by the time these kids reach University, they become young Muslims with very good knowledge of Islam (not all though, but percentage big enough to influence whole community and win new converts regularly). Pakistani girls don't have to worry about finding a match (cousins are available). If a girl shows sign of rebelling, she is generally shipped to Pakistan to marry a cousin. Now how many Punjabi Sikh families you know who send their kids for regular Guru Granth Sahib reading?
I beg with persistence to receive this gift, that the dust of the Saints might touch my face.
  14. Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru Waheguru
  15. My mistake! I thought you were following the Sikh path based on your other posts. I wish you well in Islam. Ma'a salama! Muslims are posting posing as sikhs and then they suddenly say the want to be muslim. :gg: That is clever! Moderators wake up!!!
  16. 1. It can also be said that everything in koran is from torah and bible, so what is the need of koran? Guru Granth Sahib is our way to Lord. Read it. Not to find errors but to find love of Allah. You pick some lines from sikh discusstion forms and paint it like contradictions. 2. Gurus were humans, not gods. Being sikh is not to save your skin, but love of God/Allah/Waheguru. Maybe you are a muslim to save your skin. But for sikhs, their religion is way to God. Pain and death are irrelevant and you can't escape it whatever religion you chose. You have to reap whatever you sow. 3 & 4. There is one God as per sikhism. He is called Allah, Rama, Kraishna, Satguru or guru sometimes. Ultimate goal of sikh is to be one with God. No sikh believes Nanak continued with reincarnation. If you read bani, you will see Nanak never called himself God. It is only after his departure, he is called being 'one with God'. 5. Don't go hysterical. Story just shows Allah is everywhere not just confined in Mecca. 6. Guru Granth Sahib was compiled during gurus times, not like koran and bible, which were written centuries later. Guru Amardas was third master on Gurgadi, so you say he should have consulted author of this article before compiling Guru Granth Sahib. 7. Even if he called God Rama/Krishna more times than Allah, that does not mean Nanak was favouring one religion. On one hand some of your friends claim Guru Nanak was muslim, on the other hand you are complaining he is favouring hinduism. There is no competition going on here. Just praise of Almighty. 8. Your article here showed the reason. Sikhism does not believe in blackmailing like your version of islam. 9. No faith come just from brain. If you have advantage of interpreting arabic words into convenient meanings, that does not mean it is a science book or book of logic. Sikhism does not have to worry about numbers.Sikhs were only 13% of population in their first kingdom. Muslims were big majority. Sikhism started during moghal rule and onslaught from islam and hinduism, it grew. Just think where islam and christianity were during initial centuries. And don't brag about numbers in modern age of nuclear weapons. 10. Who told you every born child is muslim? Then why do you need to cut your piece? Why reciting quran like parrots until their minds are full of hate for non-muslims? Then why child does not take birth speaking arabic and saying quranic verses? If other people hate islam, it is just reaction of your hate for non-muslims. Guru Granth Sahib even contain banis from Muslims, Golden Temple's first brick was put in by a muslim faqir. Up until partition muslim singers were even singing at Golden Temple. 11. Don't you muslims miss moghal rule? Isn't true some of your brothers want to bring back glorious days of islam back in India? Islam which you preach on university campuses and elsewhere is just marketing techniques. Indian subcontinent had seen real islam for many centuries. 12. There are tens of thousands of white converts in USA. So you are implying they too converted to repel onslaught of islam? Didn't sikhism repel onslaught of islam? There you already confessed sikhism is better than islam. Gurus did not have to fight zealot muslims only. Tenth master fought with hindu kings as well. If sikhsim is mix of hinduism and islam, then why sikhs dont believe in pilgrimage, fasting etc (as hindus and muslims both do it). Isn't islam mix of judaism, christianity and some pagan rituals. Wasn't Allah a pagan god? 13. We are talking about sikhs, why you are saying verses from quran? 14. Read Gurbani thoroughly and then you will get answers of your funny question. Guru Nanak became one with Lord and free of reincarnation, how can he come again as anybody else? 15. You again showed that your islam isn't about love of Allah but rather blackmailing of hell and heaven. Now I have to go back to work tomorrow. We sikhs have to work for living. I dont have time like you (freeloading on welfare or sponsership from saudis), as you people seem to have enough time to write and spread hateful message to other communities. And then you complain people hate islam.
  17. I have been tying my beard for last few years. I tried fixo but never liked it. Now for a very long period I have been using strong freezing gel for my beard and hair glue for my long heavy moustache. It has been working very well. It takes only few minutes in morning. Just apply gel, tie thhathhee and dry with hair dryer. Hair glue keep moustache well in place for atleast one day. I respect what everybody here believe, but I believe if we don't cut beard, we should keep it well groomed, be it flowing or tucked in.
  18. Nothing is beyong His Hukam. Don't worry. Pray to Lord. He will take care of everything.
  19. Just few points. Hell and heaven Hindus and muslims believe in hell and heaven. But sikh's ultimate goal is to be one with Lord. fasting and pilgrimage hindus and muslims believe in fasting and pilgrimage. Muslims consider pilgrimage as one of five pillars of islam. These hollow rituals have no place in sikhism. idol worship Hindus worship idols. Muslims do not worship idols, but when they pray, they pray towards mecca. For a sikh, God is everywhere.
