  1. There are still many bugs that need to be worked out, from what I can tell, but it's off to a great start. It FINALLY has proper PNG support (I almost started crying in happiness when I saw the variable transparency), and is rendering CSS much better than before. The thing is, the fixes and workarounds that people were putting in before to ensure that Internet Explorer works the same way are further messing up the layout because the browser doesn't need them anymore. haha. IE is finally seeing some tabs, and I'm not talking about the crappy ones that the MSN toolbar puts in for you. These actually work smoothly and the tab browser is awesome. Keep in mind that it IS a beta. It is SUPPOSED to have bugs and glitches. I wouldn't recommend anybody downloading it just because they want the latest version. If you're a web developer, be sure to install it but put it on another machine because you still want to program for IE6.
  2. SikhiToTheMax will not run on any PalmOS-based PDA. It will only run on WindowsCE-based PDAs with ARM-compatible processors, ie. Samsung/XScale The VB Runtime can be download from here.
  3. My friend, don't even get started on that. People can get hurt in discussions about browser differences.
  4. When you're going for a TV that big, go for a DLP. They cost more, but the technology is much better than LCD when you're dealing with that size.
  5. Hmm. Firstly, this is the PSP thread... Secondly, you've given no good reason why anybody shouldn't buy one. Thirdly, what do you have against the Xbox? If we're talking about the original Xbox here, I have no idea why you wouldn't like a system that's more superior than the PS2 in almost every way.
  6. What were you right about? Certainly not about the quality of the product, you weren't.
  7. I've never reached speeds with wireless that I have with a wired connection. I'm on a cable connection. A problem that you might face with wireless is a broken connection because of a cordless phone sharing the same frequency. If you have 2.4 GHz phones in the house, a phone call can potentially break your connection. What you can do is go into the router's control panel and fine-tune the frequency in order to eliminate the interference. If wireless isn't absolutely necessary, and you're only looking into it for a little bit of convenience, maybe you could hold off for just a little bit while 802.11n is being developed. Pre-n is said to be able to work upon release, but your best bet would be to play it safe. If you have even more patience, you could wait while Wi-Max is being developed. haha If you do end up going wireless, be sure to read your manual to ensure that you use (at least) a 64-bit password and disable SSID broadcasting.
  8. The JVC one is better than the Sony. The Sony does come with its own subwoofer but, in my opinion, it's somewhat lacking. It delivers kick-bass, but the bass you want, which is resonating bass, isn't delivered. I haven't heard this JVC personally, but from my experiences with them, the GIGA-Tubes are good. This particular model's got a woofer, mid-range, and tweeter on each speaker, so you'll get a good range. One of the best thing about it is the PC connectivity, which will allow you to play music directly from your computer. There used to be a few systems that boasted USB ports, but they were slightly misleading. Their purpose was to serve as a USB hub, which would split a USB connection into two. So, to summarize, the JVC is a bit more expensive, but you'll probably be more happy with it.
  9. Cookies are bits of information stored on your computer by websites that you visit. Websites have a wide range of uses for cookies. Sometimes, these are preferences that you have set when you went to the website, like a certain language/layout, or remembering your username and/or password. Deleting cookies set by this board will not have ANY effect on your computer. Your browser will only forget your username and password hash, if you've set it to automatically log you in. It's a good idea to clear your cookies in Internet Explorer, because there are cookies that will track your browsing. You should know, however, that a cookie can't harm your computer by means of virus or erasing information.
  10. Actually, kurtas, I think nanosecond is talking about Windows Media Encoder, and not Windows Media Player. It's odd that it's not showing up under Add/Remove Programs. Try going to C:\Program Files\Windows Media Components\Encoder and running the uninstall file. If that doesn't work, try running the install for the Portuguese version and it should offer to uninstall/repair it.
  11. I think you're a little bit confused. Surrey Singh was looking for a camcorder, not a digicam.
  12. I don't understand why anybody would say it's a "piece of crap" unless they had the misfortune of downloading malicious software that bricked their PSP. How do you compete with 32bit graphics and 16 million colours in a handheld console? Wi-Fi is great for both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure gaming. I haven't done Ad-Hoc (local wireless) but I've played Infrastructure (remote connection) and it's smooth enough. Hit up a 1GB card and get some software to watch your videos. For any of you that possibly have a Sony LocationFree TV, hey look, another addition to your setup.
  13. Go to OpenOffice.org for the word processing software. Be sure it's a wireless-G card that's built-in. As opposed to a floppy disk drive, consider purchasing a USB key: much faster and more storage than a floppy. The Gimp is similar to Adobe Photoshop. There isn't free software out there that's anywhere near as powerful as Photoshop, but we want to stay legit, don't we? I'd help you look for an actual laptop but, I'm sorry, I don't know where you're from.
  14. There were some rumours going around about 'iPlay', 'gPod', etc. off and on, but they were just that... rumours. Do you have a legit source?
  15. We're not 'entitled' to anything. Khalsa_starr said, "myself wish not to go into explanation about this now." Respect that.
