The JVC one is better than the Sony. The Sony does come with its own subwoofer but, in my opinion, it's somewhat lacking. It delivers kick-bass, but the bass you want, which is resonating bass, isn't delivered. I haven't heard this JVC personally, but from my experiences with them, the GIGA-Tubes are good. This particular model's got a woofer, mid-range, and tweeter on each speaker, so you'll get a good range.
One of the best thing about it is the PC connectivity, which will allow you to play music directly from your computer. There used to be a few systems that boasted USB ports, but they were slightly misleading. Their purpose was to serve as a USB hub, which would split a USB connection into two.
So, to summarize, the JVC is a bit more expensive, but you'll probably be more happy with it.
