  5. Vote for Jasbir Parmar just because he has a pagh? If anyone watches PANTH TIME Smethwick, they will see the presenter asked the audience can all those in favour of Khalistan raise their hands, all the sangat and i mean ALL the Sangat raised their hands, apart from guess who? JASBIR PARMER. Jasbir was the only person against Khalistan. JOHN SPELLAR has always supported the Sikh Nation and the EDM's all the supporting letters against the guilty indian poiliticians and everything inc self determination stand for Sikhs. Dont let the Pagh fool you, KP Gill has a pagh, so did Beanta (EX CM Punjab) look what they turned out to be. No one knows the background of Jasbir Parmar. Dont make the mistake. Vote LABOUR - JOHN SPELLAR for Warley.
  6. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh i agree with some of the views given here, i am not in favour nor against harnam singh, but i took this one step further to find out if this did happen but found out nothing of the sort did. one thing i would like everyone to note is that what is a siropa? a siropa is guru ji's bakhshish given to the person receiving it. but receiving a siropa even off a enemy, in sri guru granth sahib's presence is still a siropa given from guru sahib to that person, the person giving it has only got the seva of handing the siropa from guru sahib to the person on the receiving end. there are many up's and downs in the sikh qaum today, somebody mentioned before badal and co made changes to the calendar and harnam singh became friends with him again. but the nanakshahi calendar issue i've seen with great detail, in 2003 when it was released at shiromani akali dal's stage from takhat sri damdama sahib, where were these people then? the dates we used from 1699 - 2003 were changed but the people making those changes never became rss nor government agents, but if sant samaj or taksal has been lobbying the sri akal takhat sahib since 2003 till now and have changes implemented then they become rss or government agents? if sants get together under one umbrella, they are called the sant union? if sants get together to make decisions for the benefit of the panth they become the enemy? i am not a taksali nor in the sant ji shaheed or not arguement, however i do sympathise with taksal but what is saddening is that other people and other 'panthic' organisations, slander taksal and some people who call themselves taksali's slander it or its current acting leader or leader too. they dont realise the damage they're doing. if you remember, shaheed darshan singh is was and forever will be respected, on the other hand his family filed a case against taksal and sant samaj saying these people had our singh killed.
  7. *DONT GO OFF THE TOPIC* Nanakshahi Calender SGPC panel suggests radical changes The executive committee of the SGPC today approved radical changes in the Nanakshahi calendar amid voices of dissent raised by three of the 15-member strong SGPC executive and opposition put up by a number of Sikh bodies. The Nanakshahi calendar, which was adopted by the SGPC in 2003 after having been approved by Akal Takht, will almost resemble the Bikrami calendar if the changes approved by the executive were implemented. The proposed changes suggested by the SGPC chief Avtar Singh and the orthodox Sikh organisations led by the Damdami Taksal chief Sant Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa, however, will come into force as and when these were endorsed by Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh. Ignoring the opposition put up by three executive members --- the SGPC general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, Bibi Ravinder Kaur and Karnail Singh Panjauli ---the SGPC executive led by Avtar Singh has recommended that Sangrands along with the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev should be observed as per the old tradition (read Bikrami calendar). Besides, some important days such as the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, Gurta Gaddi Divas and Jyoti Jot Samaun Divas of Guru Gobind Singh were also likely to be observed as per the Bikrami calendar. According to Avtar Singh, the five Sikh high priests had already recommended that these three historic days should be observed as per the old tradition. He, however, made it clear that the proposed changes would come into force only if endorsed by the Akal Takht Jathedar. Till then, the SGPC would be adhering to the existing Nanakshahi calendar and the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh would be celebrated as per the existing calendar on January 5. We have to effect some changes in order to keep the panth united. The Sant Samaj is an important component of the Sikh panth. The decision was taken by the majority in the executive. We dont have any pressure from any quarter including the RSS. Those opposing me or those who are planning to gherao my residence are doing it without any valid reason. The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee leader Parmjit Singh Sarna is a Congress agent and he has proved it by honouring Delhi Chief Minister and Congress leader Shiela Dixit and by backing Prof Darshan Singh. The Nanakshahi calendar will continue to stay, said Avtar Singh while talking to The Tribune. Executive members including Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, Bibi Ravinder Kaur and Karnail Singh Panjauli tried to persuade Avtar Singh that they could not support any changes as the executive was neither provided with any documents nor any time to study the agenda. The president wanted us to endorse the agenda but we declined on the ground that no decision can be taken in haste as it involved a sensitive issue like the calendar which was a treasure of the Sikh nation. But we were not listened to, rued Sukhdev Singh Bhaur while talking to The Tribune. He has already voiced his concern over the proposed changes. A number of Sikh organisations opposing any changes in the calendar, including the Dal Khalsa, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee led by Parmjit Singh Sarna, SAD (Panch Pardhani), American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and a number of other Sikh bodies have alleged that the proposed changes were part of the wider conspiracy to relapse to the old Bikrami Calendar. They have also decided to adhere to the Nanakshahi calendar and have decided to gherao the Ludhiana residence of the SGPC chief on January 12. Dates Changed Include: Avtaar Divas Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji Joti Jot Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji Gurta Gaddi Divas Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj Shaheedi Purab Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj & Sangrand Dates also to be changed Panjab Radio and Rozana Spokesman can say what ever they like about the Damdami Taksal and Sant Samaj, but the old Nanakshahi calendar was NEVER issued at/from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, but if you remember and check records it was issued from Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal)'s Political Stage at Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib. Now Panjab Radio and Rozana Spokesman say that Baba Harnam Singh has stabbed Damdami Taksal in the back by intoducing these changes into the calendar, but the Panth can also see that the entire Panth was stabbed in the back and Sikh history was stabbed in the back when this incorrect calendar was intoduced. Damdami Taksal and Sant Samaj stand for an independant Sikh Calendar, and always has done, but the calendar has to be correct. You cannot just go around changing dates for the sake of it? The day we close our eyes and follow the Panjab Radios and Rozana Spokesman's are the day our religion will perish. I believe today is a big victory for the Panth, and a slap in the face for those who oppose the changes of implenting the correct dates in the Nanakshahi Calender and/or those who oppose Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji.

  9. Read http://www.ajdiawaaz.com/ for full info Seeing this would make any Sikhs blood boil!! The only thing left to do now if to remove Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Saroops from these places and supporters of these "Sants" and Bhawans or Mandirs of these "Sants" should have Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj taken away to a proper Gurdwara Sahib. Then leave these Bhawans and mandirs empty these people can carry on doing "matha tek" to each other, we cannot tolerate Guru Sahib Ji's BEADBI! No other solution Sri Akal Takhat Sahib should issue an Hukamnamma to remove Saroops asap.

  11. Haryana, India: Sant Baljit Singh Dadu of Dadu Sahib Gurdwara was today “arrested” by the police along with a large number of his supporters on the outskirts of Chandpura, where he was to inaugurate a three-day “Gurmat Samagam”, a religious congregation in the village gurdwara. However, after hours of confusion during which his supporters protested against his arrest, tried to deflate tyres of police vehicles and raised slogans, a group of armed Sikhs escorted him out of the police vehicle and they walked a distance of 2 km straight to the village gurdwara, leaving the authorities dumbfounded. The Sikhs started their congregation once Dadu reached the gurdwara. Earlier, addressing his supporters before courting arrest, Dadu alleged that the state government was discriminating against the Sikhs at the behest of Dera Sacha Sauda followers and had even been stopping them from performing their religious functions. “The Haryana Government is suppressing Sikhs, who are in a minority in the state, to cash in on the votes of Dera Sacha Sauda followers in the coming parliamentary polls,” he alleged. Contrary to expectations, Dadu kept his date with Chandpura village today and reached the outskirts of the village with hundreds of his supporters despite a heavy deployment of the security forces. Dadu was to reach Chandpura at noon to address a congregation but he entered Haryana borders a few kilometres away from the village at 2 pm in a cavalcade of vehicles. Dera Sacha Sauda followers had objected to the congregation and had also threatened to organise a parallel “naam charcha” after which the authorities had imposed prohibitory orders and denied permission to both Sikhs as well as the dera followers. Elaborate security arrangements had been made today and a heavy police force and the Rapid Action Force had been deployed in and around the village to stop Dadu from reaching the village gurdwara. DIG (Crime) Shatrujit Singh, Fatehabad Deputy Commissioner JS Ahlawat, Fatehabad SP CS Rao and SP (Crime) Sandeep Kheerwar led a large number of officials, who camped in the area since early this morning. A large number of dera followers had also assembled in the “naam charcha” ghar of the village, making the situation volatile. The authorities stopped the cavalcade of Dadu 2 km before the village and informed them about the prohibitory orders imposed in the village. The authorities met a delegation of the Sikhs and told them that they would have to arrest them in case they tried to enter the village. The authorities also told them that they could hold their peaceful congregation after the prohibitory orders were withdrawn. However, Dadu refused to return and announced to court arrest. “The arrests were peaceful and there was no resistance from Dadu and his followers,” said the Deputy Commissioner. However, once Dadu left the police vehicle and went inside the gurdwara around 7.30 in the evening, the authorities were left with no option but watch and hope that no inflammatory speeches were made from inside the gurdwara.
