-- ADMIN REPLY --

We try to filter as many threads and posts as possible to be placed in the relevent sections of the forum, so unfortunately, at this present moment, we would like to leave it in the Events secion. However, we will "pin" the topic at the top of the Events section so anyone wishing to specifically find out more information about the smagam can do so with ease and access it easily.

For more information, please e-mail contact@sikhsangat.com.

  2. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!

its all made up of stuff and myths.. like who wouild believe in tht kind of stuff? :)   (just an opinion)

    129564

    Disguised Jee,

It's fair enough that you have your own opinion, but as per Gurbani states, there is existence of ghosts.

van i ask someone.. do they have any video of a living ghost??? because i have never seen one in my lefe.. nether has my dfad my mom my siter or anyone i know.. im not joking

either your right or gurbani is right

Also can someone give reference in gurbani where it says there is such thing as ghoasts demons etc...

    129557

    International Akali Jee,

Gurbani is right. The arguement about video of a living ghost is the same as saying, "video of a living Vaheguroo?" We all know that there is existence of Vaheguroo, as Gurbani has come directly from Akal Purakh, but how many of us have actually seen Vaheguroo? My dad hasn't, my mum hasn't, my sister hasn't either and I most definitely havn't seen Vaheguroo! (Hope you get the point)

The Shabad below is clear and should answer your question about existence of ghosts.

This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Saarang on Pannaa 1224

Personally, Sikhi is something which is practiced and applied, and cannot be converted to. In terms of conversion, the closest thing that comes to this in Sikhi is maybe to begin practicing a particular Rehit or to adopt parts of a Gurmat lifestyle. A basic example would be to begin keeping Amrit Vela Rehit.

The Sikh Rehat Maryada in Section 1, Chapter 1, Article I states that :

Any human being who faithfully believes in

    i. One Immortal Being,

ii. Ten Gurus, from Guru Nanak Sahib to Guru Gobind Singh Sahib,

    iii. The Guru Granth Sahib,

iv. The utterances and teachings of the ten Gurus and v. the baptism bequeathed by the tenth Guru, and who does not owe allegiance to any other religion, is a Sikh

The following section in the Sikh Rehit Maryada Section 1, Chapter III, Article III about "A Sikh's Personal Life" states that :

    Article III

A Sikh's personal life should comprehend:-

    i. Meditation on Nam (Divine Substance, also translated as the God's Attributed Self) and the scriptures,

ii. Leading life according to the Gurus' teachings and

    iii. Altruistic voluntary service.

A Gursikh is definied in the following Shabad by Guru Raam Daas Ji in Raag Gauree on Pannaa 305

    Sangat Jeeo,

I’ve recently been in touch with a KC organiser and have been told that there will numerous Giaan filled Gurmukh Singhs and Bibiaa there at Khalsacamp this year.

The likes of Bhai Kulbir Singh and other Singhs from Gurdwara Tapoban Sahib (Toronto) will also be giving their darshan to share their knowledge and inspire Khalsacamp attendees on the true way of Gurmat. :awesome

APPLY NOW!! There are limited places left.

Personally, I’ve attended the last two Khalsacamps, and they are DEFINITELY the place to be in summer whether you’ve just got into Sikhi and want to learn more, whether you want to build your Jeevan or whether you feel your Sikhi is going downhill and you need a BOOST!

The atmosphere is tranquil, the lectures are unique and inspiring, the Keertan is moving, the accommodation is comforting and not to forget, the food is scrumptious! :TH:

    Don’t miss out! Apply Now!

Thanks for your support. I'm actually from a neighbouring town and don't attend that Gurdwara. However, where there is beadbee of Guru Granth Sahib Jee, we should not at all fail to come together to show support and opposition.

This is a major issue in Gurdwaras across the UK and the world for that matter. The members at this Gurdwara a trying their hardest to allow meat and alcohol on the premises, but there are many Gurdwaras where its allowed already. At day, the centers are used for sports (not really) and at night used for wedding parties. Even if its not within the actual Gurdwara, on the premises/boundary of the Gurdwara there should be parchaar of ONE thing only, and thats GURSIKHI!

At this moment, what we can do is jam the phone lines of the president.

Daas will try to keep you updated.

  11. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fateh!!

Gurdwara Ramgarhia Board, Leeds, UK under the presidentship of Jagir Singh Sohanpal and some of his associate members within the committee are going against the Sikh Maryadaa by allowing the consumption of alcohol and meat within the boundary of the Gurdwara.

The meat and alcohol issue was discussed in the Darbar of Guru Granth Sahib Jee and Jagjir Singh Sohanpal was the instigator. The committee members who are strongly supporting the consumption of meat and alcohol are Amrikh Singh Virdi, Gurdev Singh Sagoo, Gurcharan Singh Sohanpal, Gurnam Singh Sohanpal, Mohinder Singh Sohanpal and Kulwant Singh Rayat.

Jaikaras were chanted loudly in Guru Jee’s Hazooree whilst passing that consumption of meat and alcohol will be allowed in the Gurdwara premises.

The same committee members also said that open bearded Sikhs and Amritdhari Sikhs should be thrown out of the Gurdwara.

There is only a fraction of the committee who are stood against these people.

PLEASE give your full support to stop these MASANDS for going against Gur-Maryada!!

First of all, Admin Jee, whats the deal with allowing users here to slate comments about memebers from other forums?

Secondly, how can you actually relate a painting to the image of VAHEGUROO? I agree 100% with Bilja Jee, the Moorat and only Moorat we should concentrate on is Shabad Guru. Guru Sahib Jee clearly says:

baanee guroo guroo hai baanee vich baanee a(n)mrith saarae ||

The Word, the Bani is Guru, and Guru is the Bani. Within the Bani, the Ambrosial Nectar is contained

    Guru Raam Daas Jee

Within Bani, Ambrosial Nectar(Naam) is contained, so why the need to look at pictures for concentration or to reach a higher level?
