  1. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Wow! Kathaa From what Bhai Sahib talks about in his Kathaa, these tukks refer to the comparison between a Gurmukh and those pakhandee fake people who have no pyaar for Sikhi or faith in Guroo Sahib, but at the same time, try and equal themselves to those Gurmukhs who have given their heads to Guroo Jee. These comparisons however, show that no matter how hard these pakhandees try, they can never match the calibre of a true Gurmukh. In the first tukk, the Gurmukh (one who mounts horses and handles guns) is compared to those (fakes) who play the game of polo. If these people are asked to mount horses and handle guns (just like in a battle to play the True game of love and ride the True Path) will they be able to do so? In the second tukk, Guru Sahib uses the example of a swan and a chicken. The flight of a swan (Gurmukh) is much higher and greater in distance compared to the flight of a chicken (fakes/pakhandees), which can only fly a short distance for a short amount of time. Even if a chicken made its greatest effort to fly like a swan, it wouldn't be able to do so. Similarly, as much as these fakes try to match the calibre of a Gurmukh, they will fail miserably, just like a chicken trying to match a swan. A swan would just totally leave behind the bechara chicken and not even bother to look back. Prof Sahib Singh, in his teeka refers to such people as a laughing stock (ਹਾਸੋ-ਹੀਣੇ). Bhul chukh maafi. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!

  3. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Hanji Bhenji that clip is awesome! I too was wondering whether anyone can provide more audio/video of Keertan done by this jathaa. That one tukk has been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it! The One Word of the Shabad abides within my mind; I shall not come to be born again. ||1|| Shabad If anyone can help that would be great! 4. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Bhenji, If you have time, and if you havn't already done so please try and read: Amrit Ki Hain - by Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji This hopefully will answer your questions. I've actually just read it again after seeing this post. Even for Amritdharis this book is a real eye opener! Maybe the 'bliss' that many of us experience and talk about is only a fraction of a fraction of the True Bliss that Bhai Sahib (in his book) and Gurbani talks about. There is also an extract from another one of Bhai Sahib's books about Amrit which is mind blowing! I will post it when I get a little time... Guroo Rakhaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! 5. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Just to add: ਤਿਲੰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ O Lord! O Master! ਂ Prof. Sahib Singh Ji's teeka for this tukk roughly translates to: O Chief! O Wise One! O Purifier of Hearts! O Forever-Firm King! O Releaser of bonds! Your love and affection is dwelling/dwells within my mind and heart. Bhul Chukh Maaf. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Reference
  6. I am not as learned as some of you Singhs and Singhnia... but i believe that this whole world is a temporary location. I also believe that 99% of UK Gurdwaras fail when it comes to satkaar... have u seen the state of some of them? run down factories turned into Gurdwaras, damp walls, leaking ceilings, mould growing in the corners of darbaar, etc etc... point is, no matter how much satkaar u do, its never EVER enough when it comes to our Guru Jee... but come on guys... this is Guru Granth Sahib Jee... Guru Sahib doesnt moan or frown because the Sach Khand was a temporary abode. Guru Jee is happy being in the presence of sangat who worship him as lovingly as they do at all camps. No SACH KHAND here on earth is permanent... its ALL temporary. This whole world is. Lets concentrate on getting to our truue and permanent abodes. Please lets keep to the topic of sharing photos and other media from this years Khalsa Camp Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! I agree ! :D ^^^ Sachkhand or not, for the two days that I was there, satkaar to Guroo Mahraaj was given to the utmost. I mean the Darbar Sahib just looked immaculate. Singh_bling Jee, I think it would be good if you contact KhalsaCamp with your queries and suggestions. I'm sure they will gladly reply. Guroo Rakhaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!
  7. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Agreed. ^^^ The main thing at university is to stay focused on your studies and to just stay firm against all the temptations thrown in your direction. If nothing else, hide in the library! :D After spending so much time in a peaceful environment (even if it means just sitting there and not studying), the last thing on your mind will be to go clubbing. 9. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! After searching Mahan Kosh and looking at Prof. Sahib Singh's teeka, ਆਰਤਾ and ਆਰਤੀ are totally different. ਆਰਤੀ :- English - Hymn of praise, religious ceremony Gurmukhi - Gurmukhi - A form of worship in which lamps are lit at night; A form of worship where lamps are circulated in front of idols (Hindumat) ਆਰਤਾ/ਆਰਤ :- ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾ (need, want, necessity), ਦੁਖੀਆ (afflicted with pain, troubled, distressed), ਮੰਗਤਾ (Beggar, one who begs) ਧੰਨਾ ॥ Prof. Sahib Singh's annotations on this roughly translates to: O Lord, Nourisher of the World! I am a beggar at your door (please fulfil my needs). You take care of all the affairs/business of all those who do your Bhagti. Further notes on what Prof. Jee says:- ਆਰਤ is a sanskrit word meaning ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾ - need. From the Rahao tukk and from the rest of the Shabad, it's clear that everyday we ask for the things that we need and want in our lives. The use of the Shabd ਗੋਪਾਲ (ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ - nourisher/sustainer of this world) further exemplifies this, from whom we would naturally ask or beg from (just like how we ask or even sometimes beg for something from our parents who have nurtured us). Because of the similarity between ਆਰਤਾ and ਆਰਤੀ, this Shabad of Bhagat Dhannaa Jee has also been included with the other ਆਰਤੀ Shabads in Dhanasree Raag (starting on Pannaa 663 I think), otherwise there is no mention of 'Aarti' in this Shabad i.e. there is no mentioning of flowers, lamps and so forth which are required for Aarti. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The teeka also states that some people have written against this Shabad due to misinterpretations, but how can this be? Gurbani is perfect! I think the Rahao tukk is pretty clear in understanding this Shabad. Bhagat Dhanna Jee asks for all these things (flour, ghee, fine clothes, a cow and even a wife to take care of home), but in essence, Vaheguroo takes care of all the affairs of those who do His Bhagti, and so there is no need to beg for these things. If we are to beg, we should only beg from Vaheguroo only and no one else, as He is the only Giver in this world. Ultimately, we should beg for His Naam and the contemplation of His Bani... These are just my interpretations and are most likely wrong, so take whatever you see good... Beant bhulaa di khimaa. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Reference

Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!! Below is an awesome Shabad that someone sent me whilst I was studying at University. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!!
  16. Awesome! Thanks for sharing. :D
  17. Hanji rest assured you will receive them. It may take a little while though. So it's still in your karma :D Check your PM inbox.
  18. The recordings from Khalsa Camp 2005 and 2006 are on the dvds.. you can purchase them on http://khalsacamp.com/uk/shop/ have mailed them to purchase those...never heard from them. why have a such a section , if they don't even provide such service anymore? :D it just misleads the sangat Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! Chatrik Jee, Did you actually purchase the DVDs and your saying you haven’t received them, or did you contact KhalsaCamp about some query you had they never replied to that? The recordings will be available on this year's DVD box set, which will hopefully be out soon. Guroo Rakhaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!
  19. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੩॥ According to Prof. Sahib Singh's Teeka, ਨਿਦਾਨ in this context is given as ਓੜਕ ਨੂੰ. If you further do a search on ਓੜਕ using the dictionary facility on Srigranth.org, this translates to ਅਖ਼ੀਰ or ਅੰਤ literally meaning 'in the end' or 'at last'. The annotation for this tukk is given as: ਹੇ ਮਨ! With the very little understanding Guru Sahib has bestowed in my mind, this translates to: O mind! Whatever support/guidance you may seek, it will all finish/come to an end eventually as anything else in this world. In the end, God will be our only Saviour. If my interpretations and understanding are out of line, please do correct them!!!. Like Bhenji has said, English translations can be misleading and only really give the surface meaning. This is just one tukk, and we're like a million lifetimes behind!!!!! Bhul chukh maaf. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!
  20. Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh! The DVD box set for this year's KhalsaCamp will hopefully be out sooner (much sooner) then they were for last year's camp... :TH: Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsaa! Vaheguroo Jee Ki Fatheh!
