  1. Caste is not part of sikhi. My question is why we single out one caste when it comes to this issue? Some Jats are known to be proud of their farming heritage and lifestyle, and have taken it to the point where they write songs about it. There are also folk tales of famous jats. But becuase of this the Jats are the primary target when it comes to the caste issue, because they are more open in the fact they are jat. If we were to split Punjab up, Jats make up 60-70 percent of the population. If there were any other caste with the majority, im pretty sure we would be talking about them being the problem of caste. But as stated in another thread, Sikhi wants to stop ALL of this and not just by accusing one particular group. The fact is, every caste deals with their own be it Tarkhon, aluwalia, darji etc. This is because of lifestyle similarities and thinking. This is why castes tend to marry into the same caste, so there is no 'culture shock'. However, if we truly lived by Gurbani, we would truly have the same lifestyle. This, however, is not even near the reality of things. All this being said, i see the real problem with the non-jat castes who, becuase of whatever insecurity it maybe, open up 'Caste Only' Gurdwaras which in my mind goes against everything having a Gurdwara represents. An example of this is Ramgarhia Gurdwaras sprouting up everywhere. As well, the Gurdwaras where people from particular castes only go to. I dont see any Jat Gurughars and i dont see Jats choosing one gurdwara to go to just because other Jats go there. The jat caste maybe wrong, but we are focusing too much on them being anti-sikh, and TOTALLY forge tting about the ENTIRE caste problem. Lets not ignore the problem with Jats, but lets not forget about everyone else too who is guilty.
  2. kandola, i seriously suggest you start gettign your facts straight about sikhi. i have been reading your thousands of post and very few of them are really of any substance. you should start learning more bani. do santhya and learn arth, and only post when your able to help someone in sikhi. all i see is birthday wishes and pointless comments. lets smarten up and grow up.
  3. its addictive, but theres the claim that you get to meet sangat and learn. thats great, but everything should be done in limitation. a person could instead be doing hands on seva ie cleaning hte guru ghar, helping needy people. that is what sikhi is. too much time on here is wasting life away...it should be in moderation
  4. how do you guys know he is a brahm giani? only a brahm giani knows who is a brahm giani. read sukhmani sahib. you can say another person who was a brahm giani said he is, but whos to say if he was one himself. the point is, babaji has done alot of sewa, and that is respected. but we shouldnt be labeling everyone as a brahm giani because we feel so. guru ji bestows the gian (knowledge) of brahm (god) at his own will, not us. the guru ji knows who is one and who is not. it is not our job. our job is to praise god and serve his people. i mean no disrespect here, but we look at other peoples qualities too much.. ie he is amazing at kirtan, he is an amazing kathavajak, he has done alot of sewa. the question we should ask is..why is he able to do that?? simple answer is.....all beucase of gurus kirpa. instead of praising the person for his qualities, we should praise the giver of the qualities for allowing that person to their particular service to the panth....the Guru. Becuase of the Guru, we are able to do what we do. He gives us the strength. Babaji has done sewa, but lets praise the Guru for it. Babaji doesnt help people get better from sickness, the Guru does. It is all his giving. Anyways, the point is, when we keep praising individuals, we take away from the true meaning of sikhi. when we praise individiauls more then we praise the guru, something is wrong. this is not saying anything against babaji, but lets just focus on our guru more. If someone disrespects him, lets let Guru handle is and not take actions into our own hands as some people have with the ultimatums they have given. bhuk chuk maaf
