  1. I think your best bet is to read this Bani online from sridasam.org or visit http://www.santsipahi.org/patshahi10/ and try asking there. I've never heard of such a gutka sahib in English, which is why it's so, so , important to learn Gurmukhi..
  2. Wear a dastar when you are ready to carry its weight and recognize that your head is no longer yours, but it is Guru Sahibs. I am sick of people wearing dastars but still engaging in other stupid activities, it just brings shame to the name of Sikhi and Guru Sahib. I'm in no way saying you will do that, but make sure that when you take this step, it's from your heart and you have the desire to do it, otherwise it's just a false ritual (e.g. if you wear it to impress others or something). Dastar is extremely important in Sikhi - it's a symbol of our sovereignty and should be respected to the highest degree. I feel Gursikhs are slightly incomplete without a Dastar, so eventually, everyone should wear it or should at least have a joora on top of their head. But I also feel that whoever wears it should understand its significance and realize what they're representing.
  3. Just wanted to say that this thread has inspired me and brought me so much peace. God bless the Singhs who put their work into posting these great Saakhis. I hope all of the youth can learn about the legacies of these great souls.
  4. Parnaam Shaheeda Nu are we living according to this legacy? I myself am not. May Guru Jee bless us all with the Grace and Strength to live like these Shaheeds did.
  5. What about other Panthic organizations, like Nanaksar or DDT? Are they able to print Saroops of Mahraj?
  6. DHAN Guru Ram Das Ji! This thread had one of the lowest number of visits! What kind of Sikhs are we, Oh Satguru Ji, we don't even remember you. Dhan Dhan Guru Ram Das Patshah jee
  7. PARNAAM SHAHEEDA NU JINA JAAN DHARAM TO VAAREE
  8. Mata Ji was a very strong and inspirational Gursikh. She endured so much in her life and was a blessed soul. May Guru Sahib bring more blessed souls like her, and may we all remember her and her legacy.
  9. This is HORRIBLE news! The Panth needs to get together and do something about this. I wonder if the R4G campaign knows about this. The SGPC is simply milking money by doing this - they clearly don't care about the likely beadbi of thousands of saroops. There are so many people that do major Beadbi to Guru Sahib's Suroops, even keeping alcohol and meat in the same place, not putting Maharaj on a proper Manji, not following proper maryada or even washing their hands properly! This is a slap in the face for Sikhs, that we're letting this happen. Please circulate this through e-mail everyone, maybe if awareness spreads, something can get done.
  10. I think moderators should watch for people posting irrelevant things to the topic being discussed, and starting personal threats. I know people are entitled to their own opinion, but they should at least get warnings if they are instigating more conflict/hatred/swearing.
  11. In Sikhi, there is no such yoga form. In Sikhi our only goal should be to merge with Waheguru and obtain His Darshan. raaj na chaaoo mukat na chaaoo man preet charan kamlaare
  12. it doesn't matter right now, no one. Why create controversy in every topic?
  13. Wow. I can not imagine that their precious, love drenched lips touched that. Waheguru
  14. "In 1985, the meditation team made a video of monks drying cold, wet sheets with body heat. They also documented monks spending a winter night on a rocky ledge 15,000 feet high in the Himalayas. The sleep-out took place in February on the night of the winter full moon when temperatures reached zero degrees F. Wearing only woolen or cotton shawls, the monks promptly fell asleep on the rocky ledge, They did not huddle together and the video shows no evidence of shivering. They slept until dawn then walked back to their monastery. " Wow.
  15. This is so sad and such an important concern, this should be our biggest concern out of all of the threads on this forum right now. Is there anything we can do to help? There must be some way we can all get together and help this situation, even if it means putting pressure on politicians. There must be something. Any ideas, Singho?
  16. Wow, those are some beautiful pictures  . BUMP THIS THREAD! I am very glad they received a punishment, hopefully they will learn their lesson (which I doubt). We must try our best to stop Beadbi of Gurbani from occuring. Everyday, all Gursikhs should do Ardas that Waheguru stops Beadbi or maltreatment of His Gurbani from happening.
