  1. i dont have experiences. but i no of some. so i can share. the last thing you should do before you sleep is simran. and fall asleep doing simran. then the first thing u should do wen u wake up is simran too. then, it will be as if you have dont simran the entire night. and we all know how hard it would be to do that many hours simran. (eventually, as u increase in the simran levels, avastha, you will after a few years of this type of simran, need no sleep. but this is rare to come accross a person that does this kind of simran. simran takes a new meaning and shape as u increase.. in avastha..... it is reletivey easy to get to this level. simran is too massive. o so massive. you can quicky learn to control the way in which simran takes shape. and manifests. this is how u get simple rid sid involving seemingly high level things. such as future, and control over people. this is the test naam simran gives you via its duty under hukam of god. this is also things that will hold you back. which is the basic reason why control and focus is needed. this can happen duringthe day walking around when you dont expect it. its not just during naam simran. as most think. if you can manage (its hard to get into this dicipline) to automtically start ur naam simrn the first thing in the morning when you are stil 70% or so dazed, then you can fast track your dasam dwaar opeing. (which is btw, the first step of the journey. after all, you have to get our of your house to make the journey). so naam simran before anything, is very importent. and personally, i believe that this is how it is. then you do your 5 bania, which have the function of starting your jup, then to get the motor going, i.e. the jaaaap, then after your jaap is going, viraag comes via the sraavag sudh savayae, then once your virag is there, you do the true benti which no one can reely tell you. the benti chaupi till 'chaupi ko kehe' has the functionof asisting us to get this one true benti out of us. then when god himself listens to that benti, you will be in anand. this is function of the 5 bania. (amongst other functions). simple thing, if u wana feel the pwer of naam simran, do 1 extra japji sahib a day, if u wana open your dasam dwaar, all u have to do 10 xtra jupji sahibs a day. just after a month and a week, if done with true reverence, your dwaar will open. needlss to say distractions from mind and body and heart, must be absent. even in the nidst of these distractions. (i regrettably give the metaphore, walk into a bro thel and feel no lust or dissgust. then you know you are truely above these things. i am not saying do this, just saying, it should be at this level.) so.. naam simran before 5 bania, then 5 bania, then naam simran afterwards too. (possibly to stabalise your change in avastha during your nitnem). id sugggest mool mantar (nanak hosi pi such) to fuel your gurmantar. so, 1 mool amntar should last you 'so many' minutes, or tens of minutes. i do wish you well on your journey, but will stress, naam is gods. not ours. hence we cnnot have any kamaaee. also, we cannot keep it anyway, so this all boils down to, tek the naam guru lets you jup, and give it back to guru G seeing as we will eventually loose it. its not ours to begin with.. rub da naam hai. sada nehi dhan guru
  2. mm. thank u brother. im lower than a bemukh tho. all i can do is try to be as good as i can be.
  3. from reading this, it seems u have a lot going on in your mind. if i may, id like to address your relationship status as you've mentioned it. in islam, i believe those that are religious and go out and date, do so with the view that the other person will convert to islam if its a problem. in retrospect (looking back), couples that have inter-religious marriages, will have problems and squabbles later in their married life because of this hinderance. your personal view against discrimination, and the belief in one god, does fly in the face of islam. after all, they would not be looking to convert people to islam if they truely believed god doesnt make a mistake in choosing a specific religion for someone, or not (athiest). i find islam is tolerant. for me, tolerance is demeaning to the other. accepting the other without some quotient ( basically loving everyone regardless), is the only way to be. and i think this is a good place to talk about sikhism (sikhi) . sikhs have 10 masters of our religion / prophets / gurus. and the 10th master exalted (raised) sikh scripture to the status of a living eternal guru. and this we call "the Guru Granth Sahib Ji". 3 basic sikh principles are to 1.earn an honest living 2.distribute before taking (think of food. give food to others then eat after - this idea ges beyond food obviously though) 3. meditate on the name of the lord. in sikh dharam (religion), we have this meditation in the form of love. called "prem bhagti". litterally meaning "the love meditation". we have a meditative word through which everyone (if they meditate) can access this love meditation. meditation ( just 5 - 15 mins a day) opens everything in you mind and heart up. but u need dicipline of the body, and mind. i.e. concentrate effortlessly without trying to concentrate. lastly to bring worth to yourself, serve the creation of god. in all forms. if you believe in blissfull happiness, and anti-blissfull happiness, then these 2 currencies (money) which are to serve SELFLESSLY WTHOUT THE HOPE OF REWARD, and meditate, these 2 currencies are the path to happiness.. stability.. fullness on the heart, mid and soul....all things good. etc. thisis sikhism in a nutshell.. now for your questions. 1. on mixed marriages, historically, fundemental ways of life were believed in by both the husband and wife alike. background does not come into it. linearity of thought is there.. (for you, i think there was no linearity of thought so it broke down with you. - sex and attachment could help you to go down the wrong path.. beware! - im not saying sex is wrong.. just special and sacred) 2. in every language there are words for "believer" and "athiest". in sikhism, we believe in the brotherhood of humanity. so even if your an athiest, we pray for you, as we pray for ourselves. 3. big topic. every baptized sikh must wear the 5 K's and follow the dicipline given to them to help them in life. e.g. a rule that we all know is dont put hand infire else it hurts. so you have a dicipline that you do not jump in the fire. this is like the dicipline rules given to sikh if they choose to be baptized. all sikhs (should) aim to be baptized. it was a duty given to all sikhs by our 1st master (guru nanak dev JI), through to our 10th master (guru gobind singh ji) of our religion. 3. 5 k's can never be changed. bowing to our eternal guru (found in all gurdwaras - sikh place of worship) can never be changed, so there isnt any views. its just how it is. 5 ks are a must for baptised sikhs. (if u are practising to be baptised, then u can wear then too.) u can look at the 5 Ks be split up like this. first, u must keep dicipline. unshorn hair, and chastity! second, steel bracelet and comb, lastly, the kirpaan (like a dagger, but in no way, is a dagger.) the kirpaan is to keep honour in the world. "kirpa" - through the grace of god, "aan" - the honour in the world is kept. however, we cannot use it unless there is a war. there is no war now. we do not create our own wars / fights / gang fights.. when a kirpan is worn, it reminds us to be ever ready. (ready for anything). ask if you dont understand anything regarding the 5 ks. 4. as sikhs, we say, 1.earn onist living. earn the entire world if u can. but be ready to let it all go and giv it to your guru and understand that its not yours to have, though you have been given it.. just like our body is not ours, it will return to dust eventually. and the soul moves on.. just want to add, >>true love<< is the love you feel for your parents, siblings, and children, all put into one. if u can say that the love you feel towards your mommy, and a child is he same, and this love is the same that you feel for your partner, then that is true love. only difference is that your life partner is with you to share a new family. >>fake love<< is attachment, and wanting this n that just because your body aches for the opposite sex.. or jus because your mind wants more.. in sikhism, we aim to control everything about us, so we can become stable, and achieve a higher state of being... i hope it was ok to read. any questions, u can just message me, or reply here. good luck!
  4. how do i imply that one or the other were forced? i say, that women didnt wear dastar before sikhi. "women took the option to wear the dastaar. IS the implication". not what u think the inference is. Just because u dont see the dastaar kheti thing, doesnt mean it didnt exist. as far as i know, thats the main way women wore dastaar in the onden days (50 years ago at least). kheti dastaar relates to the wearing of a dastaar in war. doing "work" in war is the same as doing work in khet (in numerous respects). hence metaphorical 'combing' of the battlefield aka khet [in gurbani], with a khag. dastar has lotsa functions. women who decide to wear dastaar, are obviously entitled, and do so. hence to say it a 'must', is fallacious in nature i did not dispute mata sahib kaur wearing a dastaar or not. just disputed the way u created a logical phallacy [strawmans]. u cant say, human =4 limbs; monkey = 4 lmbs,; therefore human = monkey which, what you say, equates to. so if u get what i said before, i am not jumping from one conclusion to another, just saying that u cannot say what u suggest in your reply containing your mata sahib kaur example. i dispute women 'must' wear dastar, which you said. i have no thing or entity aginst dastaar. i, tbh, encourage people to stick with dastar. just dont force them.. hopefully, we can move onward from this convo now? and start a new one! :D i personaly believe that women who decide to wear dastar, find a sense of security in it. do u agree?? . i see that this sense of security can be good, but bad also. bad in that they think sikhi will come from somwhere other than where it does. which is the heart. (which thus gives rise to kes {somthing that guru gobind singh G themself said all other kakaar are jumalla without kesh}) hope to her from u.
  5. ^ what u mean? hu is doing that? guru g already says god is the saroop of daya. and is this not a trait of personality? i no personality traits have come from god etc.. but. for understanding purposes, its ok to realise god in his sargun saroop as well as nirgun.
  6. how u mean get wording right? uv just said the same thing i sed. that "Men or women were not "forced" to wear the dastar.".. this is exactly what i sed. : / get ur mind right men oredy wor dastaar. women didnt. this is basic fact. in the absence of men, women took the duties of men. e.g. to this day, in the field, doing the field work, women tie dastaars and go and work in the khet. same difference with the war times. i am not disputing (as u seem to suggest) whether mata sahib kaur ever wore a dhamalla in her lifetime. obv she did. but just cuz she wore dhamalla then, dont mean that all women got to wear dastar since that moment in time.
  7. do chaupi sahibs. try 50 a day. u will feel your guru with you.
  8. "devanhaar daatar nirgun sargun ek" is what guru G says.. is u to the perosn if they want to believe what guru G says etc.. dhan guru, dhan gursevak

    Kissing

kaam is not needed. preet, prem, and piyaar is! krodh is not needed, josh, and bir ras is! lobh is not needed, lorch is! moh is not needed, chaao is! ahankaar is not needed, self integrity / 'tripat' is! they ar called 5 EVILS / THIEVES for a reason. we are to replace the 5 evils with daya, dharam, sat santokh and nimirta/veechaar. we should control it, bring it to zero, and keep it at zero, and not let them utt ( 'get up' ). only way to do this is through naam. do himmat, aka, try, then u become strong enough (mohkam, aka steadfastness) to come out on top (sahib).

1st sunday after every sangrand in birmingham big gurdwara on sohoroad.
  13. u say u feel chaaya. (shadow of maya) find beauty, and live in that beauty. best and eaisest way is to veechaar bani in ur own heart. "... subh jag dekhya maya chaaya. nanak gurmat naam dheaaya" jup sum naam baby best way to do this, is seva. jin sevya tin paaya maan, nanak gaavyae guni-nidhaan. through seva, u get shaant. and thus, u get naam. tru this for 13 days, then 40 days, then carry it on for ur lifetime. bani veechaar in ur own mun, own heart is what will give u this spark of feeling beauty. then u can live in that moment for as long as possible. this is y we say, moko santan ki dhoore. the saadhsangat, is your guru, is your sant. there are sant in the world. but i should recomend that your problem can be resolved by urself with guru grace. big gurdwara on sohoroad. amazing place. you never leave there empty. do vechaar in your own mun.. in 2 weeks, ull notice a change if u do it with conviction. trust in guru G. gurfateh

  16. bottom line i find, is that sikhi and the whole spiritual experience is down to control. though certian parts of the brain may be over active but controled, it doesnt mean that u can say its exacerbated.. look st when the brain defects in humans.. signals must be 're routed' through other parts of the brain. these parts are more active than usual. u cant say, that just because it has inrcreased activity, its gon into a seizure. the god experience is not restricted to any one part of the brain. simultaneous activity of the brain gives different experiences and feelings. scientifically, its all chemicals. but, once the chemicals in body get tuned, with the concious, then the 'one-concious' can enter your body.. i personallly believe, EM fields, have so much to do with spiritual connxion. the brain, hart, and blood all can generate EM fields. once its straitened, u will feel other peoples EM fields, then slowly, the earth, then eventually, if u can, the universe EM. then, EM fields in higher dimentions (11 dimentional universe - check the bosons and fermions post in intelectual discussions). then eventually, the EM field will merge with the other 3 fundemental forces, and u will be in tune with that, then, you will vibrate one with the 11D universe. then, the trebhavan / tre lok eventually (which is sur nar asur), then the entire ban-tar / sristi that god has made, then naam, then, god himself. the last step is only with the kirpa dristi of god. this is y guru G says, je bujhai, ta haumai kehe na koi. meaning, only if we get the kirpa dristi from god. then, we will be no more, and will merge in the light. god. so its not just restricted to just one part.. if it was, its not 'becoming one'. by definition it defies it. jyo jal mehe jal aae ghatana.... dhan guruu!
  17. i would suggest, learn to let go. but let go of the right things. i kinda used to be like that too.. then i re-prioritised, my opinions. like, i didnt spend that long on my dastaar, cuz i changed the way i see things.. insted of getting up for skool, i got up as a persona test, and if u want, a show of faith to your guru.. to say, hey gueu G, im not totally ruled by my body and mind. so, learn to let go. not so wound up. rehet piyaari muj ko.. remember. practice now in skool, this dicipline, then wen u grow older, u will be lafin.. ahead of everyone else.. good luck!
  18. ^^ y post if ur gone be a spanner?? they aint found it yet.. i dont get y u say "UMAD?" and its not god particle.. (jus saying..)
  19. ^^ yes but self reflection can also be classed as schitzophrenia, by people that understand nothig about self reflection.. aaaand, to each theory own experience.. some hear a voice.. literally. but only in a specific mind state. loads of sikhs have said this. and just cuz u can talk to god with emotions, it dont mean god cant talk to u literally... he can.. and he has.
  20. god is god, and he is as personal as we wish to make him to us. fact is, god is closer than close to us.. all we have to do, is accept that he is personal to us. guru G says, har naame naal galla.. hir nwvY nwil glw hir nwvY nwil msliq hir nwmu hmwrI krdw inq swrw ] har naavai naal galaa har naavai naal masalath har naam hamaaree karadhaa nith saaraa || My conversation is with the Lord's Name, and my counseling is with the Lord's Name; the Lord's Name always takes care of me. so, since naam and god are the same, (because in asa di vaar god created himself then nam, then SECOND place is kudrut. so naam and god are one of the same. and naam, and the one that jups naam, are the same too. so hu says u cant talk to god. blatently u can. we make god personal to us, with sharda / bhavna. and the extent we have this, governs the extent that he is personal to us. god is formless. but he is also the saroop (form) of everything that he has creatd. nirgun aap, sarsun bhi orrhi.
  21. 1 is gurmat. another is manmat, so, if u go towards manmat, its bad. gurmat is good. askin for an outcome, is manmat, therefore, will always come crashing down. like, if a person was to ask for a girlfriend, how much manmati can u get.. this will happen, its no that, ardaas works sumtimes, it will always work. exams, are not manmat, cuz u would like to pass with good grade, but, u will also understand that its in gods hands. if we do ardaas for somthing specific, it will come true. depending on the level of gurmat regarding that ardas, it will either dissolve, or will be in line with gurmat, so it will be approved by guru G. bottom line is that guru G in gurbani givs us the ardaas to do. i do exams ardaas. for a good outcome. or if a loved one has run away etc.. its ok.. its in line with gurmat.
