  1. **Pro is on sale for 99¢/69p for the first day!** **iNitnem 2 in the works** www.kesrinishaan.com www.dhurkibaani.com After a long spell of quietness, Kesri Nishaan is back with Dhur Ki Baani 2. Dhur Ki Baani has had a complete facelift and is now quicker, cleaner and more intelligent than ever before. Download the app for free and start listening to live kirtan via the new dedicated Dhur Ki Baani server. Dhur Ki Baani isn't just a pretty face, it has been made future-proof by only using code supported by Apple. You can now share what you are listening to using email and the in-built Twitter integration. The loading animation is now more intelligent, loading now means loading, if there's a connection problem you'll know, you won't need to guess! Dhur Ki Baani is now fully localised in almost 20 languages. If you follow us @kesrinishaan, great, if you don't, no worries, any important information will be pushed to you using Apple Push Notifications. You can go the extra mile and unlock Pro features by purchasing it within the app. Pro includes: - Album Artwork and Now Playing information displayed in lock screen - On-screen Volume Control including AirPlay™ - Remove unsightly advertisements and support future development - Swipe right to go back to Stations List - Background Audio - Use your iPhone Remote Control - Tap the Now Playing button to get to the player screen without reloading
  2. They were cracked and put on jailbroken devices. We have big plans... but if this carries on, it will be impossible!
  3. Gurfateh, Many may know Kesri Nishaan from the iNitnem/Dhur Ki Baani Apps, if not, try them out, they're completely free. Now the real reason, I know there are many Singhs/Singhnian App Devs out there, and I wanted to see how many of their apps were pirated. We released a game recently, The Red Leaves, and within hours it was cracked and downloadable for free causing over $300 of lost sales. We have a piracy rate of 94% thats for every one game we sold 16 were pirated! I wanted some advice from fellow devs or the saadh sangat in general? Kind Regards!
  4. Kesri Nishaan is a growing software company. Located in Derby, UK, Kesri Nishaan was set up to address gaps in the software market, and aspires to create useful software for users in a niche market who would otherwise be passed by bigger software companies. That is where we come in. We manage iNitnem [G] and [E] and Dhur Ki Baani. All of which you need to download in order to keep up to date. Visit Kesri Nishaan today! www.kesrinishaan.com
  5. Bhai Sahib will be at Siri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Derby, tomorrow (7:30 - 9:30pm) and for sangat that will not be able to make it, the darbar will be broadcast live on the internet via www.sgssderby.co.uk and www.thesikhspodcast.com. We hope to see you there! Gurfateh
  6. There are some tweaks and I'm sure today's announcement of iPhone OS 4.0 will maybe create the split between the iPad and iPod/iPhone... I think screensize is prob the most noticeable and having more screen real estate does allow for a lot more content I guess and theres also the speed boost thanks to that new processor and added ram - as for now, most of our apps work with the x2 button on the iPad while we look into development... Funnily enough, I am the same, I am not buying an iPad as I think the fourth incarnation of the iPhone will be pretty cool - 3GS was a bit of a let down... If we do decide to develop for the iPad we, as a group, may wait until the second generation to wait to purchase one, and just develop using the simulator - unless there is a real demand and considering nobody so far is going to buy one, it doesn't look too good for iPad development... Bring on the improvements to the iPhone apps! :D
  7. Gurfateh, As some of the sangat may know, I'm the programmer/designer of the apps that The Sikhs Podcast release (although I don't know anything about programming - about time I learned I think) We wanted to ask you the sangat about your interest in the iPad - Apple's new generation device... We want to know because, if there is enough interest we will start development, if not we will concentrate on the iPhone. Please answer honestly, and if you have any comments - however brutal - let us know... Thanks
  8. Gurfateh, Oh right, sorry for the misunderstanding We will definitely look into this and try to implement this in a future update. Gurfateh
  9. Update 1.1 is now out for iNitnem [E] which includes fixes to the Laavan section. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  10. Gurfateh, GurbaniAnywhere has stated that they are to release nitnem in their next update, which may or may not include Sukhmani Sahib. iNitnem does have many banis already including Sukhmani Sahib; you could use iNitnem [E] or iNitnem [G] whilst you wait for GurbaniAnywhere's update release.
  11. iNitnem [G] which we also make is a gurmukhi-only version of banis, so would not help you in this case. However, GurbaniAnywhere is a brilliant app, i use it personally to search for shabads and hukhamnamas, for which it is brilliant. But for Nitnem, I know tyou may say I am biased, but I always use iNitnem.
  12. Just sent the update to Apple, should be approved in 1-2 weeks. Many apologies for the mistake. Gurfateh
  13. We apologise wholeheartedly for this, at the moment there is only the gurmukhi version of laavan, we did not realise that the file including the english translation/transliteration was not bundled. We will upload an update today itself for apple to approve which will include this. Again we apologise for this. Gurfateh!
  14. We are making money on iNitnem [E] this will help fund our projects. If we had enough donations then we would not need to charge. This is one app out of six that charges the other five are completely free. We apologise if you feel this is wrong, but we must fund our projects.
  15. It is £1.19 and works with any device running iPhone OS 3.0 or higher
  16. This app is now available! Depending on when it is 00:00 on 31/12/09 in your country, when the app will be released, but the Aussies are the first to get iNitnem [E] & iDastaar
  17. As I said in my last post that iNitnem [E] the english version with full gurbani, english translations and tranliterations will be a paid app. How much would the sangat be willing to pay for the app? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VOTE!
  18. iNitnem [E] is ready and has been sent. It will be a paid app - not because we want to be rich, but so we can do more seva, if anybody has problems, please contact us at info@thesikhspodcast.com. At the end of the day we want to do parchaar, and it does cost, we hope you will forgive us. Bhul Chuk Maaf.

  20. Gurfateh, Thank you S1ngh. We are very glad that you find iNitnem [G] useful. May I also point out that we have other apps for the iPhone that are Sikhi-Related, you can check them out at www.thesikhspodcast.com/apps. Apple provide data on the amount of downloads that we get, we have been analysing them since the beginning of our Financial Year (12th February 2009) and they are promising, but details will not be released until the release of our annual report on 11th February 2010. We have considered charging, but felt that iNitnem was too essential for Sikhs with iPhones. There are some ideas floating around for a paid Sikhi-Related app, but that is all I can tell you. We hope that with Guru Ji's Kirpa, we can keep The Sikhs Podcast financially and creatively. If you do wish to help us by offering services or donating please visit www.thesikhspodcast.com/seva or www.thesikhspodcast.com/faqs or email us at info@thesikhspodcast.com. Thank you again for your support, Gurfateh. K Singh
  21. Gurfateh, Thank you for your support SikhSeeker. We were going to try and implement this into this app, but alas we are not programmers and can only do so much. This is why we called this app iNitnem [G] G standing for Gurmukhi. We have programmed the new iNitnem [E] (for english) but the pdfs need creating, which will take time, and at the moment we have other commitments such as university. However, we do hope to have it ready and sent to Apple by the end of January, which would mean a release date of around end of February. We hope this new app will supply the sangat with greater understanding of Gurbani. If you do think of anything else, you can contact us on info@thesikhspodcast.com, or you can also visit our website, www.thesikhspodcast.com Gurfateh, K Singh
  22. Gurfateh Ji, I am part of The Sikhs Podcast, the group that designed the iNitnem [G] app for the iPhone. Are there any suggestions from the sangat for this app or any other we have on the app store? Thanks K Singh
  23. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! There will be an Akhand Kirtan Smagam at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara, Derby from 1st to 4th May 2009. For full details check out the attached poster. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! www.sgssderby.com www.akj.org
  24. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sadh Sangat Ji with iPhones & iPod Touches (don't know if that is the right plural but oh well...) The Sikhs Podcast™ have finally got their iPhone/iPod Touch app through the approval process (The Sikhs Podcast™ Podcast Viewer). Apple were complaining about using the iPhone image, using the Podcast image and oddly the Shaheed Singhnian and Singhs photos, but after clarifying and modifying 1.0 version has now been released and is now available to download. Just visit http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...005646&mt=8. It occurs to me I haven't told you what the app does. Well, some of the sangat may know that The Sikhs Podcast™ produce weekly video podcasts on various Sikh topics. This app allows the sangat to watch the podcasts on the go, provided you have a good signal on the iPhones and a Wi-Fi connection for the iPods. Well, another bit of news is that because the approval process took so long, we had enough time to ready version 1.1. This was to be released a bit after the release of 1.0, but because we've thought to submit it now. So, provided Apple don't throw anything else at us, The Sikhs Podcast™ Podcast Viewer 1.1 should be available in a week or so... Well hope you like the app and if you have any suggestions please contact us at info@thesikhspodcast.com Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
  25. Great, an iPhone user! We are on the verge of getting approval from Apple to release our application, Podcast Viewer, its simple in it's design it just a web page but makes viewing podcasts easier and cuz the files are 3gp they load quicker across the internet... I'll let you know when it's available! Hope you do enter cuz at the moment we got no entries and we may have to take the prizes, lol Thanks TruSoul... and Good Luck!
