Guys let's not dismiss these articles. They are creating the outside perception on the issue and its extremely damning. We again will end up on the back foot if we dont combat the negative press.

These issues can only be resolved when local sangat take interest and lead in fixes the problems in their areas. Beyond this, these corupt committees will keep quiet for a couple of months and then start up the manmat actions again. We all want a super organisation who we can pass our problems on to but the reality is that its up to the individual and local sangat to make these committees feel that they cannot do this. Sri Akal Takht Sahib have done their part by outruling the use and consumption of meat, alcohol and tobacco on any Gurdwara owned property. It's up to the local sangats to implement in their Gurdwaras, otherwise we simply bemukhs.

Important point to note, this is an open prison. So the inmates only stay at the jail during the evenings and are subject to much less intense jail environment. Also Guruji has given the role of parchar to the Gursikh. we are not doing parchar by leaving a saroop of Guruji at the jail. Thats shear laziness and leaving the problem to Guruji. Its about the sangat stepping up with the parchar in the jails, that will create an impact and change lives.

As Sikhs we must always be concerned where ever Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji saroop is. Whether this be at someone's home, Gurdwara, Mandir or even library. The issue we fight against on a daily basis is those situations which reduce the statue of Guruji to an idol or mere reference book. This is one of those situations, Guruji's saroop right now is nothing but a mere idol and Gursikhs cannot let that happen. The issue is about Satkaar of Guruji's saroop. This cannot be maintained at the prison currently

What Bachchan did was to incite the ordinary person to join the government organised mobs. We all know the star power of indian actors. This actor had thousands of people outside the hospital when he was injured in 1982. He knew that people will act on his words and instead of asking for calm he made more go out onto the streets to look and kill Sikhs. There is no difference between Saajan and Bachchan. Saajan physically moved around delhi with the mobs while bachchan used tv and star power to do the same….kill innocent Sikhs

US Sikh Group Complains Against Bachchan in Australia Washington, Oct 19 (IANS): A US based Sikh group has lodged a criminal complaint against Indian film star Amitabh Bachchan in Australia for his alleged role in November 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The criminal complaint against Bachchan has been lodged with Australia's Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions by Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), the US based human rights organisation announced Tuesday. In the complaint on behalf of widows, victims, and survivors of November 1984 anti-Sikh attacks, SFJ has been joined by National 1984 Victims Justice and Welfare Society and All India Sikh Students Federation. Bachchan is currently in Australia to receive an honorary degree from Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane. He is also shooting for the Hollywood film "The Great Gatsby" co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio in Australia. Australia's Criminal Code Act 1995 gives Australian courts jurisdiction in cases involving crimes against humanity whether or not the offence was committed in Australia, said SFJ legal advisor Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Maryada is that Anand Karajs must happen in Gurdwaras. Refer to Akal Takht Sahib hukamnama 1998 and sandesh 2006. If you want to do a Gursikh wedding then do it in a Gurdwara and help in trying to change to perception of the Anand Karaj. There is enough beadbi of Guruji and the Anand Karaj. Please to not add to it.

The sangat need to realise that the answers for mitigating the Dudley Protest are not the sole responsiblity of the Satkaar Campaign. The individual and the jathebandi needs to step up to show unity for the cause. Without this unity (even on SikhSangat.com) the outside media, supporter of meat & sharab in Gurdwaras will always beable to manipulate the situation. This unity was there on the day of the protest where many Gursikhs were working for the common cause. Just because we have now all come home and are reflecting on how things turned out, it does not affect the legitimacy of the Akal Takht Sandesh and stopping other gurdwaras from allowing meat and alcohol into Gurdwara properties. The way forward is that locals who know their Gurdwara allows this to happen need to approach the Gurdwara committee and work with them to stop these parties. Everyone needs to feel responsible as its satkaar for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Joga Singh summarises up the build up to the Dudley Protest and all the background work that was done to try and stop the GNSS Committee to understand and stop this beadbi. The GNSS Dudley just want to delibrately go forward with a party, where that was from a booking by a famaily or one staged by the committee themselves:

Bhaji, there has been months of dialogue with th GNSS Gurdwara. This has been led by Representatives of Midlands Gurdwaras who have taken a very respectful approach it attempting to resolve the situation and have also taken the initiative to include the police to mediate. All proactive steps have been taken by Gurdwara representatives and Satkaar Sevadaars. On the other hand GNSS Dudley have avoided, misrepresented and refused to meet and work towards adhering to Akal Takht Maryada. Over the campaign, there has been only one protest, Satkaar Sevadaars have tried their upmost to avoid such protests and I am sure they still are working towards avoiding the protest, but GNSS are adamant to have the party on the 28th. There will be no other optuion but to peacefully protest on that day. While you carry on doing Guruji's beadbi? Sorry doesnt work that way

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!! The protest will be peaceful because the singhs and singhnis attending will be fully focused on Kirtan, Simiran and Katha and Chaupai Sahib Paths. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will bless those who recite Gurbani and in turn stand up for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Please bring Baajas, Tablas & chimtey so the sangat can do kirtan and focus on the feet of Guruji!

You interpretation of those standing against anti-gurmat activities at Dudley GNSS as a pride thing. What about the Committee who are unwilling to follow Sikh Rehit Maryada? The only reason why they are refusing is pride! Bhaji, I appreciate you loyalties to your Gurdwara where you grew up. But the simple issue is that this Gurdwara pass the matta that there will be no meat, alcohol served on Gurdwara property. Its nothing to do with who is elder.

Sukhdev Singh ji. To you a gurdwara is a building with constitutions an clauses, just like a business. To the wider Gursikh sangat a Gurdwara is the house of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji where Gurmat principles are promoted. Dudley GNSS committee clearly dont have the gurmat to further progress Sikhi, oh but really know how to amend clauses and lie about ownership. That kind of Sikhi wont get you far...

We need to provide them a list of names and addresses of the GNSS Dudley Gurdwara committee so that they can be thrown out of the panth!
