  1. 6. Let people quote the Scriptures and sacrifice to the gods, let them perform rituals and worship the deities, but there is no Liberation without the realisation of one's identity with the Atman, no, not even in the lifetime of a hundred Brahmas put together.

    8. Therefore the man of learning should strive his best for Liberation, having renounced his desire for pleasures from external objects, duly approaching a good and generous preceptor, and fixing his mind on the truth inculcated by him.

    23. Turning both kinds of sense-organs away from sense-objects and placing them in their respective centres, is called Dama or self-control. The best Uparati or self-withdrawal consists in the mind-function ceasing to be affected by external objects.

    36. Save me from death, afflicted as I am by the unquenchable fire of this world-forest, and shaken violently by the winds of an untoward lot, terrified and (so) seeking refuge in thee, for I do not know of any other man with whom to seek shelter.

    56. Neither by Yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by work, nor by learning, but by the realisation of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.

    65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

    69. The first step to Liberation is the extreme aversion to all perishable things, then follow calmness, self-control, forbearance, and the utter relinquishment of all work enjoined in the Scriptures.

    70. Then come hearing, reflection on that, and long, constant and unbroken meditation on the Truth for the Muni. After that the learned seeker attains the supreme Nirvikalpa state and realises the bliss of Nirvana even in this life.

    81. Know that death quickly overtakes the stupid man who walks along the dreadful ways of sense-pleasure; whereas one who walks in accordance with the instructions of a well-wishing and worthy Guru, as also with his own reasoning, achieves his end – know this to be true.

    WAH! Kya baat hai!
  2. othey amlaan de honay ne naverrhay

    kisay nah teri jaat pushni

othey ta ni pushni, par ithey (on earth) saarey pushdey aa

PS. putt tarkhana dey burraaaaa

PPS WTH is a "dharkan" that is a hindi word meaning heart beat :6 Its tarkhaan (qrKwx). Traditionally these guys did wood work, which of course is irrelevant in today's society. I for one can't use a screw driver to save my life

  3. Despite all the controversy and pressure, Bhai Jeevan Singh jee remained firm in his bibek, and took a stand, even where it alienated some people who refused to accept or understand Gurmat. This episode teaches us that no matter what, we must take a stand when it comes to following the rehit of Guru Sahib.
Bhai Sahib is Bhai Sahib, one and only. But for the rest of us...let's not do -> rIsw kirh iqnwVIAw jo syvih dru KVIAwh ]
  4. No it is not fine.
Do you use toothpaste? Bloody fanatics man <_< Why don't you stop drinking water too then, cause it's got bacteria (animals) in it too

The toothpaste used, did not cointain any animal ingredients. Scientifically Bacteria are not a part of animalia kingdom. Hence they are not animals. Bacteria lack a nervous system, they do not feel pain. Whats more they can thrive in our bodies, They do not necessarily die when we eat or drink them. Besides our immune system is killing bacteria all the time. That is totally different in killing of animals.

However using animals that have died from natural causes is fine, aslong as you are not taking the animal internally. For external use is ok, depending on what it is used for. Just like you wouldn't do cannibalism. It has been proven, and you can do your own research, that vegetarians, are less at risk from cancers, diseases and all sorts. I use to eat meat. Then one day, intuitivly that all changed. I just knew from that day, it was wrong.

God is love, any animal product you find in todays shops ans stores are from murder!

Way to twist my words and work your way toward saying that I condone eating meat

  5. I got one word for you, milk. Not that skimmed kind, work your way up to having 1 litre of "whole" milk per day. It is also highly recommended that you start a weight training routine so your body can add some muscle mass to it's which is now a skinny frame.

  6. well if we had our own country that would solve a million problems on my mind for starters and guru jee can solve that in secounds................

We cant' even manage to run our own guru ghar's without fights, what makes you think we are capable of running a country? Until we remain divided, there will be no "khalsa raj", and from what I have seen of both the older generation and the youth of today, it will take a long time before unity comes.

We keep chanting slogans, 'raj karega khalsa' but we always forget khalsa is already doing raj, not just of this world but of the entire creation! The problem is we (especially me) have been wickedly unsuccessful in becoming a khalsa...

  7. It was not threat  Don't be lazy, a Sikh is suppose to do his own work. You go and fetch bananas for me, I will save some money then. After all, by eating banana's everyday is how I became a strong guy  you want my address? Make sure you use express post, I am hungry already...

You are correct, patience is a virtue and I do know I barely have any. But let's not kid ourselves, you don't have much either  Oh and thank you for calling me a moorakh, I had that coming, after all I did call you an i diot previously. Now I will take my own advice and stop talking to idiots like yourself. Oops! I called you an i diot again...hawwww are you going to go cry to your mommy now?

On a serious note, do go back and re read my initial reply. All you are doing is making a fool of yourself by putting words into my mouth and expecting me to 'defend' my opinion. If you are going to hate me for having an opinion then I must say, you need to grow up. Try it one time, it'll do you a lot of good. You may actually learn something for a change, but God forbid that ever happens

  8. Onlyfive is one of those people who ignore the posts which he doesn't have a comeback to and keeps going on his tantrums which make no sense. He also seems to think he's "winning"...I have received numerous PM's from members asking me not to respond to you anymore as you just seem delusional now. I don't claim to be a patient man, if this was happening in person then I surely would have punched your face in by now or worse.

Those who do NOT support Bhangra will have to post a latest audio recording of themselves reciting the entire paath of Sri Sukhmani Sahib

Those who DO support Bhangra will have to post a latest video recording of themselves performing Bhangra

Oye, what about the ones who are in the middle? I'm sure I can arrange both for you ;)
  9. a) in my original post i stated that i maintained a level of humility. i also stated that i informed my friend - if i had taken his crisps, i too would have pollutted his crisps. I think you need to read the post properly. "If someone told me he won't eat the food I touched because it's now polluted, I would be highly offended." you are insane to think this given the fact that he tells you that if he ate your crisps - he would have pollutted yours too. Level playing field mate.
Your "humility" went down the drain when you used the word polluted to explain why you wouldn't eat them after he took some. I'm pretty sure he didn't realize that it's a "Level playing field mate"...most people won't.

    b) how can you say "it's unhygenic to share food". the concept of vand kay shakna is all about sharing. and the concept of langar is about sharing food. Again, if you read my post properly - i asked you to formulate a technical response for me. you have failed to offer anything.
sucham/hygiene is still maintained in 'vand key shakna' because you wash your hands before giving food to others. I wasn't trying to formulate a "technical" response for you nor I am attempting to do that now. It's your fault for using the word 'pollute', go apologize to him and explain what you meant.
    c) Further, your comment "Sucham was not there in the first place, how do you know the person who was involved in making the Crisps kept sucham?" is completely irrelevant. I asked you to explain how I can explain the concept of sucham.
It is relevant, how you can say it got jootha when your friend touched it when you do not know if it was sucha in the first place? For all you know, someone touched the crisps with meat hands before they were packaged. The simplest way to explain the concept of jootha/sucha to non-sikhs is to take the hygiene route.
  10. ^ Go back and re read what I said, you completely missed the boat there, and I mean completely

Jassa sio, kerey college di team aa?

Your made an a** out of yourself and now your backing out of a discussion. Next time think before you open that smart mouth of yours.

 Again, go back and re read what I said. You just made an a s s of yourself, and I didn't even have to try...

Backing out of a discussion? I never said I would discuss anything with you in the first place  I have been on ss long enough to know what the likes of you will "discuss" on such topics, thank you for the offer but i'll pass. I got better things to kill time with than this
