  1. Please let me clarify this. Guru Gobind Singh kept the Baaz and wore a Kalgi because the Mughals had banned non Muslims form both these. Both were acts of defiance by Guruji. Also its my humble opinion that as one rises spiritually one gets a dislike for non veg food.
  2. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, When Bachchan's Unforgettable World tour was to commence I had posted messages on this Forum and Sikhnet requesting Sagath to protest his presence in their City. Some of his fans stepped in and posted messages that he was of Sikh origin. When one looks at how close he was to the Gandhi family and the benefits he was able the get from them there is reason to believe that did egg on crowds to avenge I. Gandhi's death. In case the British Government is not willing to act on requests from Sikhs then Sikhs should at least protest outside the venues where he stays in London and the award function venue. Guru Rakha

This partaking Langar on table and chairs is prevailant overseas (out of India) and I wonder when Sikh emigrate from India do the Indian customs confiscate their ability to sit on the ground? Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, I too do not intend to see the movie but I'd like to make a couple of comments: - For all you know Sharukh Khan and Balasahib Thackrey were in a secret pact and all the protests made the movie a success - In fact because of Shiv Sena's protests Muslims took it to be religious duty to view the movie - The extraordinary security provided to this movie compromised on the security for the fight against terror in Mumbai and Pune. The Pune blasts are being attributed to the guard being lowered because of this movie Guru Rakha

'or you can say judge the book by its cover'. There are many books that seem to be wirtten by Sikhs and have Sikh titles but inside there is sheer garbage (anti Sikh propoganda). Guur Rakha

One must have such a yearning for Darbar Sahib or Sifti da Ghar, That just the thought and with 'tears akhaa jaan bhar'. Every Sikh must have for Fategarh Sahib a special place in the heart or dill, Go there and eyes with tears and heart with pride do fill. There's a Sikh character in this Serial and whenever he comes on the scene in the background you hear ' Oh Bhapaji'. There are other characters from different religions but when they come on to the scene there is no lampooning done in the background. We must protest and make them stop this. The president of the sampradaye, Sant Nirmal Dass, informed mediapersons soon after a brainstorming session of the representatives of different deras at Raipur Rasulpur village on Wednesday that the separate religion declared for the Ravidass community might be a personal decision of a particular trust. Sant Nirmal Dass further said the matter of creation of a separate religion for the Ravidass community was not even discussed with the representatives of the Sant Samaj and other representatives of the community. “A single trust or Dera has no right to announce a separate religion for the entire community,” he added. Going one step further, Sant Nirmal Dass said the already existing maryada at religious places of the Ravidass community should be continued instead of adopting the new one announced by Dera Ballan. Sant Nirmal Dass said Guru Granth Sahib should again be placed at those religious places of the Ravidass community where Amrit Bani Guru Ravidass had been placed after the declaration of the new religion. Earlier SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar also reportedly held parleys with several representatives of the Ravidass community in view of the recent developments during his visit to Jalandhar on Wednesday. Varinder Singh adds from Amritsar: The Sri Guru Ravidas Sadhu Sampardaye Society and Sant Samaj Bachao Morcha have asserted that they will continue to hold Parkash of Guru Granth Sahib in gurdwaras related to Guru Ravidass. On the other hand, the SGPC chief Avtar Singh has appealed to the Ravidassia community to ignore any appeals seeking severing of relations by members of the Ravidassia community with the Sikhs. “Since Guru Arjan Dev had included the baani of Guru Ravidass in Guru Granth Sahib, the entire Sikh world holds his bani parallel to that of the other Sikh Gurus. The Ravidassia community should ignore any appeals to divide the two communities,” said Avtar Singh after holding a meeting with leaders of the Sri Guru Ravidass Sadhu Sampardaye Society and Sant Samaj Bachao Morcha.   14. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, Again there is an article in today's HT, Chandigarh that all Deras of this sect have not agreed to what this specific Dera is mandating. Point to be noted is that when they removed Guru ji (sorry of the terminology) from their Dera they removed Bani of Bhagat Ravidas too. Sikhs may have a problem with the Sect followers but not with Bhagat Ji.... this is what these fools (sorry but I could not control myslef) have not understood. Guur Rakha
  15. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, What surprises me is the change in Prof. Darshan Singh. During the black days in Punjab his home Kirtan Villa in Zirakhpur was an Open House for all. He did Kirtan and Katha and bravely took on the Govenrment on its wrong policies. I recall in Mumbai he did Kirtan and explained Ik Onkar and someone from the Sangath took off his gold chain and placed it as a bheta. I think slowly Professor Sahib got sucked into politics and from a Gyani he became a Neta. Though I do understand his demanding that Dasam Granth not be given the same status as Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, but I think he's out of depth to demand rejection of Dasam Granth. Guru Rakha
  16. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, Guru Granth Sahib ji not only immortalized Bhagat Ji's Bani but also prevented any 'chedhkhani' with Bhagat Ji's Bani. The symbols, the Nishaan Sahib and ther Jaikara that they are migrating to are not Bhagat Ji's gifts. Our symbols, jaikaara and Nishaan Sahib are all Guruji's gifts to us. I understand there are Ravidaisas in Punjab who are opposed to this migration. One must not forget that Punjab has the largest Dalit population but still Mayawathi's Party which is a Dalit Party has not been able to break ice in Punjab, despite her best efforts. Guru Rakha

  19. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, Yes Santa a pal of Buta Singh undertook to rebuild Akal Takht. And the most hilarious sight was an overweight Santa moving about in the Parikrama with a flunky laborously moving a air cooler on wheels so that Santa could get some respite from the heat. And Dordarshan which was and is controlled by the Government showed as if the Government was rebuilding Akal Takht which was destroyed by the Sikhs themselves. And words cannot explain the emotions of Sikhs when they were allowed to enter Darbaar Sahib. Guru Rakha
  20. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, Time and again in Bani Guruji tells us that no one is 'thir' (everlasting). We are all 'ik dummis' ( single breath and do not know if the next breath will come). And Guruji also tells us that our relatives or friends will not be of any assistance when then expiry time comes. Some go early and some live full lives. This is HIS domain and HE has kept an 'olaa' (behind the curtain) on death. And for that after death and rebirth. So my request is where you grieve for a dearly departed its also a message that all of us will go some day. So take advantage of this human birth. In Rehras Sahib Guruji tells us ' that this human birth is an opportunity to meet the Lord'. Now please allow me to lighten your mood. A man died and came in the presence of God and asked God , " You should have at least given me a hint that my time was nearing'! God said ,' I made your hair go white and you dyed your hair, I made your knees go bad and you got your knees replaced, I made your teeth go bad and you got dentures, I made you loose your hearing and you got a hearing aid...... you overlooked hint after and hint and you say I did not let you know your times was nearing?' I recall I was playing golf with an elderly gentleman and there was another elderly gentleman in the 'four ball' who kept talking about death. Now this elderly gentleman took me to the side and said,' I know death is inevitable but I do not look forward to it'! Guru Rakha

And I don't think a Sikh we should bother about what Osho says about Jesus. But, at the same time be it any Prophet, like Jesus in this case, we show no disrespect. Hold the Hand of your Guru as tightly as you can and cross this 'ocean or world'. Guru Rakha
  22. Fateh parwaan karro jiyo, I'm 50+ ...nowadays I'm more of a vela, Its more like standing on the sidelines and watching zindagi da mela. Not that I've not been busy as I worked 48 hours a day x 8 days a week, Though I wish that was not my peak! Because I plan start anew, Planning to start something new. But even during my vela time HE's been kind, Writing and golf have kept me from going 'out of my mind'! Dukh has indeed been a daaru for me, Guruji's analogy of Dukh Daaru Sukh Rogh bhaya now I clearly see. My request to the Sangat is for me please do pray, From HIS path come 'rain or shine' I never stray. Guru Rakha

It just comes rolling out, And it can be easily tested if you have any doubt. I live in Chandigarh and if you happen to come here you can check me out, Someone else's poetry as mine I do not tout. Within me there's an ongoing fight, My soul admonishes me 'arre bewakoof HE gave you so much you should have thanked him day and night'. As I thank HIM now I plead for another chance to make amends, But into time I hope me HE sends. I'm a akirtghan and ask for HIS forgiveness, They say even people like me HE does bless, And I'm past fifty so more time has gone and ahead there is less, Can anyone suggest how I clean up my mess?
