Sikhi is about quality and not quantity. People who are DESTINED to do kamayee of Gurmat Naam, will do so, they cant be stopped. We are living in a world where there are no morals left, the rich is sucking the blood of the poor. Most occupations have been ruined due to the greed of manmukhs. Air, water, food has been poisoned. Telivision has ruined people. In such an erraa, only a person with strong Guru Kirpa can remain firm in Sikhi and there are decent number of people who are following sikhi with full vigour.

This 12o clock joke is a part of a propaganda of anti-sikh forces. By creating jokes on sikhs, making fun of sikh saroop in bollywood, these anti-sikh forces try to create heen-bhavna(inferiority complex) in the young sikh generation. In order to understand this contention between these two schools of thought we must first understand what constitutes 'mainstream Sikhism' and the fact is that the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa is the purataan maryada established by Guru Gobind Singh and practised in fullness through the Misal period and Maharaja Ranjit Singh's reign and which continues to flourish unpolluted in the present day in Dal Panth. This is the original unblemished Khalsa Sikhism. What you have termed mainstream Sikhism has it's genesis in the Neo-Sikh movement which began with the malech-influenced Teja Singh Bhasauria Panch Khalsa Diwan in the late 1800's before being fully established with the SGPC'S inauguration in 1922. Thus it is the SGPC'S British-influenced rehit which has supplanted the original purataan maryada as being 'mainstream Sikhsim' as they sought to create a more modern version of rehit thereby purging whatever elements pained their Victorian/Christian consciences, they were puritans, zealots and revisionists as well as traitors and they have inaugurated their false maryada as the real because Nihangs Singhs have no interest in writing historical monographs and such. And so quite to the contrary to what you so innocently stated, it is the mainstream Sikhs who have made up their own maryada and the Nihangs who possess the original guru-ordained maryada. Only this fact has escaped the biased revisionist historians of the second and false Singh Sabha. The souce of the contention you have outlined above stems from the fact that Nihang Singhs do not recognize the authority of the British-nurtured SGPC or their minions and so recognize only the temporal authority of the Panth Jathedar which is a guru-ordained institution. The bones of contention that many mainstream Sikhs have with the true maryada (sukhnidhan, chatka) are really inconsequential when we consider the fact that Nihang maryada only recognizes these things as traditions proscribed for those interested in practising them, they are guru-ordained traditions that must be respected though nobody is coerced into carrying them out. It is up to the individual Nihang if he wants to practise these things and many do not, indeed there have been many brahmgyani Nihangs who have abstained from these practises even though in the Guru and Misal periods they were commonplace. Veer, Taksal gives huge emphasis to Sri Dasam Granth and according to 'Khalistan Zindabad', they also consider Sarbloh Granth to be Gurbani. Nihangs recognize the fact that only Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj was given gurgaddi, but they give huge respect to gurbani of Dashmesh Pita and nuthing wrong with that. I feel that other than shaheedi degh and jhatka, whole panth shud be following Nihang rehit. Shaheedi degh and jhatka shud be left to only Dal Singhs to practice as its a part of their tradition. The Nihang rehit is AMAZING.

I have become a fan of Nihang rehit mentioned in Khalsa Sunder Gutka. Are there any contradictions between Nihang rehit and Damdami Taksal Rehit ? Does Taksal fully respect the Nihang rehit ????

Naam and haumme are inversely proportianal to each other. The Naam/haumme of the person preparing food has good/bad effect on the food. We as a panth greatly underestimate the spiritual importance of Langar. Gurmat Langar prepared by rehitvaaan Naam-abhiyaasi Gursikhs can change the lives of sangat. I personally feel daal, roti, chawal, and lots of salad shud be the standard langar. And there shud only be sarbloh utensils in the Langar Hall.

This nihang rehit is so good and complete. Why do the nihangs are not considered to be a part of mainstream sikhs ? People have a feeling that Nihangs have created their own maryadas and rehits and are not part of mainstream. What are the points of contradiction between mainstream sikhs and Nihangs (other than shaheedi degh) ?????

I have a great book "june 84 de shaheed" by Dal Khalsa which has the bio-data of all the shaheeds who fought against the Indian army in June 84. There are quite a few singhs from Kar Seva Baba Sheesha Singh Hazur Sahib. Any information on Baba Sheesha Singh Jee and their jatha ? Are these singhs Nihang ??? Thanks

Great! Thanks for this information. There has been a great Nihang Singh, Baba Mitt Singh jee who had an amazing avastha. Baba jee started a Taksal in Hazoor Sahib. Does Damdami Taksal have any links with this Taksal. Baba Jee must have had a brahamygyan avastha and his meanings of Gurbani would have been dargahi meanings.

According to my understanding of Gurmat, GIYAAN NAA GALLEE-EEN DHUNDIYAA, KATHNAA KARR-RRAA SAAAR. Giaan is not obtained by talking, reading. Real Giaan is Naaam. Rest is CHUNCH-GIYAAN.

Only Satguru jee knows who is brahamgyani or not. Jathedaar Kulwant Singh jee has a good jeevan and he is doing very good seva there. I personally dont feel that Dashmesh Pita is jyoti-jyot. Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaaj is still very much here and Hazur Sahib is His special place.

I am not exaggerating. Whatever I write is based on sound research and reading and logical theories like peak oil. Pyare Veer, Thanks a lot for your reply. Totally agree with you on the second point. Gurbani is GOD and is not limited to grammar. Moreover, Guru Sahib can teach us TATT GRAMMAR if japp gurbani and gurmantar all day. Puratan singhs like Bhai Mani Singh Jee would have been expert in grammar and meanings because they would have got all the vidyaa directly from Satguru jee(and not by reading books). Just one more questions, are there sarblohi singhs in Damdami Taksal ????

The banis of vedas is limited to 3 gunns of Maya and hold no importance to sikhs. Vedas are very old texts which shud have got distorted with time. They do have some good moral things in them, some knowledgable things about this creation, but for sikhs all this knowledge is of no use. Real knowledge is Naam. Real knowledge is experiencing things and not reading things. In Sri Anand Sahib, we read vedaaan MEH naam uttam... Many people translate this as: naam is supreme in vedaas. This translation would have been correct had it been "vedaan VICH naam uttam". According to me, the correct meaning is : Among all the vedaas, Gurmat Naam(which we get from PUNJ) is uttam(supreme).

Sant kartaar Singh jee did seva of maharaj sahib jees bani at the time when the sgpc and scholars changed the mangals and started to print saroops of maharaj, its the same time when the sant samaaj got together and challenged these individuals who did beadbi of maharaj. The mahapurkhs included, Sant Gurbahcna Singh Jee Bhindranvale, Sant Isher singh jee rara sahib valeh, sant isher singh jee nanaksar valeh, sant kartaar singh jee bhindranvale and many many more. Sri Sarbloh jee has divine power. Shastars have divine power. Dashmesh pita has written a long Shastar naam-maala which just shows how much importance Dashmesh Pita gave to shastars.
