  1. It's the year of the Turbanator!!!!! Congratulations on your trip to Hollywood! Lets not beat down on this guy please and go all right wing. He seems like a really nice down to earth Singh, who i'm sure with our support can break down barriers and show the North Americans that Sikhs are an integral part of society and are not terrorists. Good Luck.
  2. What a fantastic post Osingh Jee. I think you have captured everything in your post. I just wanted to add that along with listening to dhuni with pyar and faith one must do ardas to Guru Sahib to do kirpa and bless us with surtee and dhian. Our job is simply to Jap Naam and if we do so with faith Guru Sahib will surely bless us with Naam Di Daat.
  3. I'm sure a few people thought that....................... :biggrin2:
  4. KullyKhalsa you are absolutely spot on. I have been an avid follower of this forum for a few years and there are some great posters on here. I have to say unequivocally that N3OSingh is one of the best posters on this forum. I am a 35 year old Singh who grew up in London England and now lives in Toronto. I have seen Singhs and Jathas on both sides of the pond. I have no association to any Jatha but have a huge respect for all the panthic jathebandis whether it is Taksal, AKJ, Nihang dals. We are all brothers and we have differences, be it the rehit we keep the way we do kirtan, there are so many issues that we do not agree on. Some members promote their own agendas according to the jatha that they follow. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world this is an ongoing problem. Some people think that their version and belief set in Sikhi is correct and anyone who doesn’t agree or offers an alternative thought is wrong. N3OSingh is one of them rare people who looks at the entire picture and realises Sikhi did not start in the early 1900s, the 1950s or in 1984. We as a panth need to respect all our brothers and sisters whether we are Taksal, Akj, Nihangs, Nirmaley, Sevapanthis or Udasis. I am all for healthy discussion but I have a humble request please live your lives and jeevans with an open mind. There is no harm in listening to a different opinion even though you don’t agree with it. If it is harmful to the panth, research the issue and present fact based evidence to the contrary and do parchar that way. Sikhi is not about threatening each other because we don’t agree with a certain opinion. Let’s educate ourselves and discuss as sensible people.
  5. Excellent sentiments. This message should be applied by every Jatha that has prem for Guru Gobind Singh Jee. This is the kind of parchar that we should be doing. Keep up the good work. WJKK WJKF.
  6. How embarrassing. Not surprised though. No matter where our Sikh brothers are in the world this kind of behaviour is not unexpected. We have this tribal mentality sparked by our egos; we have this unquenched thirst for power and fame. Corrupt politicians, pardhans and committee members using Guru Nanak dev Ji’s panth to further their own selfish agendas. These men in the video are no different to the idiots sitting in England, Canada or the USA. How do we even claim to be a faith that preaches Peace and Love, Sarbat da Bhalla. How can we preach against Krodh when we see these massands behaving in this manner in Bana? We are in trouble as a panth. Let me tell you we are on a slippery slope. We are losing the battle against the missionary Dhunda types, our guru ghars are the personal businesses of the pardhans and committees. But you know the worst thing about this video is that it strengthens the claims of the Hindu nationalists and western communities that Sikhs are hotheaded violent people. How can they be trusted to carry a Kirpan? Peace. WJKK WJKF
  7. Funniest thing I read today.........what a crack up!!!
  8. Veer Mehtab Singh, if I may I would like to address some of the questions that you have raised. I am currently a Detective Constable in a Canadian Police Service. About 12 years ago, i spent 2 years working as a Police Officer for the London Met......this is the Police Agency investigating the Brar stabbing. In terms of the incident itself, the matter was reported to the Police By Brar. This was most likely as a result of a 911 call to emergency services. The first officers attending the scene would deal with the victim and assisting paramedics to treat any injuires. Officers would immediately try to get a description of the suspect or suspects. This information is then communicated to other officers in the area and a search commences. In addition, the scene of the crime is locked down to preserve evidence. As the investigation continues, witness statements are obtained, any evidence at the scene is collected and most importantly video surveillance from surrounding buildings is gathered. Once Brar registered the report, if medically cleared he is free to leave the country if he wishes. The matter will still be investigated as no person can consent to such as assault. Investigators would be in phone contact with Brar throughout the investigation to keep him updated. In terms of making an identification of the suspects, should the police require Brar to view a photo line up to see if he can recognise the men responsible for the crime, he may be asked to return to the UK. The police may have already made identifications through video surveillance and vehicle registration information and may not need Brar to identify the attcakers. In my experience short term memory in these type of scenarios is not reliable in making positive identifications and the Courts are now less reliant on victim identifications in such cases. In terms of the arrests made in this case, the police require "reasonable grounds/suspicion" that the arrested person was involved in the crime. The police do not have to disclose to the public what evidence they have in order to make the arrests. At the arrest stage, all police have is a belief that the person is involved. The arrested people will be interviewed to see what they say.............they can say nothing.......have an alilbi ......or admit to what happended. Often, the arrested individuals will be bailed (released) to return to the police station in a few weeks. This gives the police a chance to further investigate any new information, an alibi or any other leads. Basically as soon as there is a suspicion that someone has committed a crime the police can arrest. In order to charge that person with an offence the police must have evidence to support a prosecution of this person. So yes you can be arrested without be charged immediately. If the police don't find enough evidence or they find that the person is innocent they will be released without charge. Hope this answers your questions. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh.
  9. When will the video be up please? Can't wait to listen to Baba Ji's bachans.
  10. Just my 2 cents, my wife before we got married at the time lived in Chandni Chowk down the road from Sis Ganj Sahib. She was leaving the gurdwara sahib while all hell was breaking lose in Delhi during the 1984 genocide. Old Delhi had a massive musilin population with Jama Masjid not too far from the gurdwara. The wife remembers Nihang Singhs and other Singhs came rushing out of the gurdwara with Sri Sahibs drawn at the ready. She remembers Muslims in large numbers came and surrounded Sis Ganj sahib in order to protect it from the violent mobs. Not all muslimse are bad and not all Sikhs are good. No matter what we must remian true to Guru Sahib.
  11. Harsimran Kaur jee and others on here that advocate gay anand karaj. You base your arguments that some people are born with such feelings and that they have the right to be with each other in marrigae and union. You argue that it is not against Gurmat and that the Akal Thakhat should have no say in the matter...........I understand that people have same sex feelings but it is absolutely against Gurmat. Again and again in Gurbani Maharaj warns us about Kaam. This applies to eveyone. I have been in Law Enforcement for the past 10 years. i have come across countless cases where fathers claim that they love their daughters. They partake in sexual activity with their children. These adults claim that they were born this way that they have always been attracted to young children. Is this right or wrong. Is this Gurmat or not. Peadophiles argue that they cannot change....they were born that way. Do they then have the right to marry their children. If this does not clear things then what about in cases where a brother and sister enter into a intimate relationship. They argue that they have always felt that way about each other. Are they allowed to get married too? People who go on about the fact that Homosexuality is not mentioned by Guru Sahib have not either read Guru Granth Sahib Ji or have a warped view of nature. Gurbani is an essence, Gurbani warns us against Kaam, homosexuality is Kaam, paedophillia is Kaam, incest is Kaam. Gurmat is about male and female marriage. The purpose is procreation that is it. I have no problem with people having such feelings and living their lives as they choose but please do not try to twist Gurbani and Sikhi to fit and justify these lifestyle choices because if you agree that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality then what do you say about the paedophiles and incestors? They were also born this way right? My intention is not to hurt anyone....bhull chuk maaf karnee. WJKK WJKF.
  12. Absoultely, this happened, just the way I described it. I see where you think may think that there is a humourous effect but I have certainly not embelished the above events. WJKK WJKF
  13. I'm sorry if this has already been discussed on here. I was wondering what the sanagts view was on the following scenario. Sri Akal Takht Sahib has made it quite clear as to the parkash of Maharaj's Saroop in social settings due to the issue of meat, alcohol, tobacco etc. I was wondering how the hukamnama against this practice applies to when Sikhs do Parkash at home for an Akhand Path or other such smagam. As many of us would agree most Sikhs are not Amritdhari and eat meat, drink alcohol in their homes. Is it right to do Parkash in this situation or should the hukamnama issued also apply. Should Sikhs in this situation hold their paths and kirtans at the Gurdwara instead? The reason I bring this up is not so long ago I went to a family kirtan. A famous jatha was in town and my aunt thought she would have them do kirtan at home. Parkash of Maharaj's Saroop was done. After the kirtan was concluded and langer was being served my nephew was in the kitchen. He opens the fridge door to get a drink and out falls a slice of pizza covered in meat toppings. He picks it up off the floor and throws it in the bin. I'm sure they still had their bottles of whisky hidden away in the house too. Is this right? Should we encourage peole to hold their functions at the Gurdwara to ensure no beadbi occurs. WJKK WJKF.
