www.Sikhsiyasat.net Punjab shuts down to protest against Ludhiana incident </H5><H5 class=authortext-post>By Webmaster Published: December 7, 2009 Ludhiana (December 7, 2009): Today’s shut down, declared by various Sikh organizations to protest against anti-Sikh policies of Punjab Government, received major response from people of Punjab. Almost all major cities and towns witnessed nearly complete shut down today. Patiala: In Patiala, shops and business establishments were closed in Dharmpura Bazar, Sher-e- Punjab Market, Anardana Chowk, Adalat Bazar, Sadar Bazar etc. Where as few shops were opened in Arya Samaj area which is highly a Hindu dominated area. Here, Akali MC Kanwaljit Singh Gona was arrested along with his associates in Anardana Chowk area. District police claimed that they were taken in custody as a precautionary measure. However, in Patiala, Banks and government schools were open and private schools have declared holiday for today. Phagwara: A complete bandh was observed in Phagwara here on Monday. Normal life remained paralyzed during Punjab bandh. Buses and other vehicles could hardly been seen on the roads while schools and colleges remained closed. However govt. offices and banks worked normally but few customers were seen in their premises. The route of Delhi-Lahore bus was diverted from Phagwara via Rahon-Samrala-Khanna. Ludhiana and Other Cities: Reports of complete shut down of shops, schools and other commercial institutions have been received from Amritsar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. As per PTI reports “shops, commercial establishments and educational institutions, including schools, are completely closed in many parts of the state. The bandh is peaceful so far as no untoward incident was reported from any part of the state, officials said.” The PTI report further says that at some places like Jalandhar, Patiala, Faridkot, Bathinda and Batala members owing allegiance to various Sikh organizations, including Sikh Students Federation, forced several shop owners to pull down shutters of their establishments. BFUHS postpones annual examinations due to Punjab Bandh Patiala/ Faridkot: As per news reported by Gagandeep Ahuja from Patiala, Baba Farid University of Health sciences has postponed its annual examination of all classes scheduled for Monday (December 7 ). Dr. SS Shergill told over phone that University has taken this step on the demand of students. The next date will be intimated in due course, he added. University has taken this step due to Punjab Bandh called by various Sikh organizations on Ludhiana incidents, said sources. Road & Rail Traffic and Medical Services were exempted: It is notable that almost all media reports regarding Punjab shutdown have pointed that road transport and railway traffic remained unaffected by Punjab bandh call. “It is not so. In order to avoid undue inconvenience to general public, the road transport and railways were exempted along with medical services” said various leaders of Sikh organizations, when contacted by SikhSiyasat Network.

Though not that i support Sant Samaaj or have anything against them but I believe that some things need a proper planning with cool head, so that maybe the reason why some group leaders announced meeting at some other time and place? Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Jee Dhadrianwale are very fond of Akhand Keertan, as they said in the UK diwaans in the summer. They also confirmed that they have requested the Akhand Keertani Jatha in India to come to Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Saahib every month to do Raensbhayee Keertan Darbars after the new Darbar Saahib and Lanagr Hall has opened. Now that this has happened a few weeks ago, there will be monthly AKJ Raensbhayee's at Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Saahib starting very soon. Each monthly programme will begin with Dhadi Vaaran by Dhadi Jatha's in India (as started by the 6th Guru), and followed by Katha. The same request made to the Akhand Keertani Jatha was also made to Kathavaachaks of Damdami Taksaal, where Katha will be done after the Dhadi Vaaran, just before the Raensbhayee starts, that would obviously go throughout the night. First of all on the topic being discussed, excellent seva by sant baba ranjit singh marrying girls from poor families is a really great deed. Im new to this forum but having followed baba ji for a while now i wanted to comment and so registered. Baba ji's kirtan is good and i have been to a few diwaans which took place in the uk in late summer. The question i have is baba ji has recently been promoting/talking about the akand kirtan jatha and i am unclear of excatly what is happening. I have done sangat of Sant baba takhur singh ji khalsa and one thing i remember them saying was "it takes a lifetime for one to become a sant". I looked at sant baba ranjit singh and thought how great, a sant in such a young age. However in the southall kirtan earlier this year, baba ji heavily knocked the sant samaj and instead praised the akhand kirtan jatha. i thought this was a bit odd, because baba ji was in the sant samaj and it was my view that all sants of the past aswell as baba ji thought of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as our pooran Guru without having doubts over whether Raagmala was Gurbani and whether kesh were kakkar. Without any disrespect to anyone and it may seem little to some, but i know the akhand kirtan jatha dont believe in raagmala and believe keski instead of kesh is kakkar. i think is disgusting becuase firstly how can have we doubt on our own Guru and secondly how can we question what kakkar Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji granted us. As i said it may seem like a little difference to some, but to me is terrible and i cannot figure out why sant baba ranjit singh is associating themselves with the akhand kirtan jatha. Either way, all the best to baba ji and those who believe the above, becuase i doesnt really make any difference to me. But what i would like to ask or be clear on is: 1. The fact that baba ji has been promoting the akhand kirtan jatha and is now going to hold akhand kirtan jatha rehnsbhai's in india, mean that baba ji also does not believe raagmala as gurbani and kesh as kakkar and therefore in their view Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is not our pooran Guru? 2. If Baba ji does not share the same view as the akhand kirtan jatha and does believe raagmala as gurbani and kesh as kakkar (not keski), why is baba ji then associating themselves with the akhand kirtan jatha and promoting them? It does not make sense baba ji is contradicting themself. I would really like to know what baba ji's stance is? Common Sangat Ji. I don't understand that why we have to focus on 1 or 2 differences and forget that there are thousands of similarities. UNITED WE STAND, DiVIDED WE FALL.

sangat jeo.. i have long story coming into sikh.. in this picture i am in the right.. with green sweater.. this pic is from about 2 years ago.. all of the other people are my cousins.. i lived with them since i was 2 years old... and came to america together and went to school together and chilled together.. but now i don't even talk to them, i am not saying this out of EGO, but our thinking, way at looking things changed, and they don't wanna listen to me.. and want to live their life their own ways.. and this is the reason they are always hurt, always sad, scared, and god knoews wut they are up to these days.. the big reason they don't wanna come into sikhi is cuz MAYA.. they are rich, its hard to believe, buy like new cars every couple of months.. so vaheguru is keeping them bzy in cars, girls, alcahol, and vaheguru knows wut else they do.. sangat jeo please do ardass my cousins, and with vaheguru ji;s kirpa they become singhs one day too... and this is me now.. neva thougth that i would change like this... but everything is in vaheguru ji's hand...so we cant stop it... first i want to thank dhan Dhan Dhan sri guru granth sahib ji for showing this papi right path and i want to be honest.. i got a lot of insperation from Sant Ranjit Singh Ji (DhandrianWale),, AKJ singhs,, and Dhan Dhan Baba Jarnail Singh ji.. and all the other chardikala sangat around me.. hopefully other sangat get insperation from this and come back to sikhi take Khande Bate Da Amrit.. soorry if said anyhitng wrong, please forgive me vaheguru ji ka khalsa, vaheguru ji ki fateh.!

Everybody,.. i used to me mona.. and listen to all of the famous punjabi songgs.... chamkila.. Miss . pooja.. and etcc that was like 2 years ago,drank.. and did most of the worse things on this planet/ Me and my cousins would go to the indian market( IN NEW YORK) on weekends and play songs of Miss Pooja, Chamkila.. etc.. loud.. there was sound system in the car.. and we would play it loudest ever for the whole night... But the results of listening to songs of Miss Pooja, not just hers.. but outher singers liek Banny-A.. and the list goes on and on.. all of these songs just gave us more and more KAAM, and we were so crazy, drink alcahol whole night and wonder around the city lookin for prostitutes... i am just telling the truth.. and not hiding anyhitng... dis is wut we did.. and this the same thing which i seen most of the youth around me doing.. we would do all the crazy kind of things.. and one reason we all were doiin this was cuz we were listening to the punjabi songs over and over again.. i mean until we remembered the whole song by heart., which were filled with KAAM, Violence and Krodh.. and when i changed... i began listening to Gurbani.. the more gurbani u listen... it makes u more and more calm, and peacefull... my conclusion is why should we listen to something and enjoy which gives us KAAM, Krodh, MOh, Hankar, Lob... trust me 99% of the punjabi songs today are filled with the 5 vikars, etc.. my request to my brothers and sisters is to listen to gurbani and understand it.. which will automatically straighten ur life out.. if u want to listen to the punjabi songs which are out today.... then i just remember my cousins house... i mean they are fighting 24/7. cheating on eachother.. drinking.. tobacoo.. Doday.. i agree with the topic starter.. 100% .. Badal really needs to go home now.. i was listening to speeches today and Sant Jarnail Singh ji was talkin about Badal's daughter's wedding. Man dis guy is been in politics from those days more than 25 years.. I can guess that too, that he is one of the people who told Indra to attack Golden temple.. and after that he can come and set up the seat for his son.. how selfish people are.. can't even call him sikh.. Sant Jarnail Singh was telling that people who lie.. they become (Prate) i am gussing Devil.. and these days all the political people just lie to keep their seat strong.. That will be a good step for the khalsa panth today if the sant samaj, youth federlation, akj, Taksal,, i mean alll the jathebandies get together and make their political party.... and kick out badal, hans raj hans.. and the whole family of Badal. it is democracy in india.. so take advatage of that, rather than sit at home and cring "youth is getting on drung in punjab" we will have to do something, inorder to bring change.. so khalsa ji come together and be ONE.. and kick out all the panth gardars.... We should look at something.. we have a lot of power, but it is divided.. example we have the 3ho the american sikhs.. i am sure they can help us and give us ideas to spread sikhi and how to bring sikh rule in punjab.. common please everybody think about this topic.. it is important..
