  1. Could Sangat plz post Sikhi movies and Sikhi cartoons here and even where they can be purchased.

I wish to start a sikh DVD collection.

So currently have all the sikh animated films by vismaad.

There is one movie about Guru Go bind Singh jee watched it when I was younger, it shows a Hindu pundit being executed by bearing buried alive head deep and having dogs set on him anyone know what this one was called ?

  2. If this is Singhs kirpans in anadpur sahib i would strongley stay away, as they try and sell puratan kirpans that are clearly not puratan they have just been made to look it, when asked about it they lie to gursikhs to make a profit.

Also when asked if the kirpans they give can be sharpened there response was there is no need for it as if used it you would be arrested !!!

Bit of a funny place to shop would not buy and would advise everyone to stay away.

  3. I got a tegha from there in 2005. A good friend got it for me, so cannot tell you about the location. Top quality shastar.

After the death of Jathedar Baba Santa Singh ji it was wound up because of the financial crisis within the dal when it split into different camps. I am certain that i read this on SikhSangat, but could not get the details when I did a search.

For good shastars at a fair price you should go to Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib at Anandpur. From the jore-ghar as you do down the ramp to the street level turn right into the bazar and one of the first few shops on your right is Singh Shastars. In April I got a pesh qabz made of puratan style watered steel, not acid etched like many of the fakes. It cost me Rs 4000. The shop keeper admits he makes a profit, but told me to compare his material to the nihang singh shastar factory near Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh ji in Amritsar who also make good shastars, but charge the earth.

The singhs a con artist tried to sell me a puratan shaster that was 300 years old but you could clearly tell the mott(handle) had rust on it.

  4. Gurfeteh Jee,

Please can someone do the seva of showing sangat the sandesh from Akal Takht about mixxed marrages in Guru Ghars. I believe it was in 2007 where Akal Takht have said the only way this is possible is if the man or woman adopts the the name Singh or Kaur with in their full name.

Please help we need the actual sandesh

    Vaheguru

  5. http://www.islam-watch.org/SyedKamranMirza/Quran-contradiction-flaws.htm

There are many numerical contradictions in the Quran. God cannot make an error in doing simple calculations. How many days did it take to create Heavens and Earth?

(Quran-7:54): Your guardian-Lord is Allah who created the heavens and earth in Six Days (Quran-10:3): Verily your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in Six Days (Quran- 11:7): He it is Who created the heavens and earth in Six Days Quran-25:59: He Who created the heavens and earth and all that is between, in Six Days

The above verses clearly state that God (Allah) created the heaven and the Earth in 6 days. But the verses below stated-

(Quran-41:9): Is it that ye deny Him who created the earth in Two Days ?

(Quran- 41:10): He set on the (earth) Mountains standing firm high above it, and bestowed blessing on the earth, and measured therein all things to give them nourishment in due proportion, in FOUR DAYS…

(Quran-41:12): So He completed them (heavens) as seven firmaments in Two days and … Now do the math: 2(for earth) + 4(for nourishment) + 2 (for heavens) = 8 days; and not 6 days

Quran-4:11-12 and 4:176 state the Qur'anic inheritance law. When a man dies, and is leaving behind three daughters, his two parents and his wife, they will receive the respective shares of 2/3 for the 3 daughters together, 1/3 for the parents together [both according to verse 4:11] and 1/8 for the wife [4:12] which adds up to more than the available estate. A second example: A man leaves only his mother, his wife and two sisters, then they receive 1/3 [mother, 4:11], 1/4 [wife, 4:12] and 2/3 [the two sisters, 4:176], which again adds up to 15/12 of the available property.

Raam raheem puraan kuraan anayk kahai mat ayk na maanyo.

O God ! the day when I caught hold of your feet, I do not bring anyone else under my sight; none other is liked by me now; the Puranas and the Quran try to know Thee by the names of Ram and Rahim and talk about you through several stories, but I do not accept any one religion.

I.E Guru Nanak Dev Jee refusing the sacred thread, touching the untouchables, allowing everyone to read and listen to gurbani.

    Your assitance would be gratefull

  8. The Lost Palace

A majestic palace unlike any other once glimmered in the waters of the sacred pool of nectar at Amritsar. Learn about what was once one of the largest and most magnificent structures of its kind at the Darbar Sahib complex. Follow the history of the lost palace and the space it occupied from its origins in the Sikh Empire, to British Rule and eventually modern times.

This is the scene that one would see standing on the south parkarma today if the palace still existed.

    The Bungas of Darbar Sahib

As a spiritual and inspirational hub of Sikhism The Darbar Sahib complex in the city of Amritsar has always been a very special place for Sikhs.

Surrounding the sacred pool of nectar at Darbar Sahib the leading members of the Sikh misls (confederacies) first established their residences and palaces (bungas) at Amritsar in the late 18th century. After a dark period, Darbar Sahib was reconstruction in 1764 after repeated destruction by Ahmad Shah Durrani and Sikhs began to enjoy a period of relative peace in Punjab where they were no longer fighting for survival as a people. With the rise of Maharaja Ranjit Singhs empire and its prosperity, at their height there were over 84 bungas around the sacred pool.

In the centre of the city of Umritsir is a gigantic reservoir of water, from the midst of which rises a magnificent temple, where the Grunth ( the holy book of the Sikhs ) is read day and night. Around this sheet of water are the houses of the maharajah, the ministers, sirdars, and other wealthy inhabitants.

    Thirty-five Years in the East

    L.M. Honigberger, London, 1852

Some of these palaces (bungas) were used as centers of religious teaching and education while most served as the residences of some of the powerful aind influential families of Punjab. Being on the sacred pool these palaces offered an intimate view and connection with Darbar Sahib.

    Amritsar, 1859.

In the centre of the tank rose a gorgeous temple of marble, the roof and minarets being encased in gilded metal; marble pavements, fresco paintings, added to the splendour of the scene, and round the outer circle sprung up a succession of stately buildings for the accommodation of the sovereign and his court. The establishment of no noble was complete, who had not his bhunga at Amritsar.

    Linguistic and Oriental Essays

    Robert Needham Cust, London, 1880

The Tulao, or pool, struck me with surprise. It is about 150 paces square, and has a large body of water, which to all appearance is supplied by a natural artesian well. There are no sign of the spring to be seen. It is surrounded by a pavement about 20 to 25 paces in breadth. Round this square are some of the most considerable houses of the city, and some buildings belonging to the temple, the whole being inclosed by gates: although one can look very conveniently from the windows of the houses into this inclosed space, and some of the doors even open into it.

Travels in Kashmir and the Panjab

Baron Charles Hugel, translated from German with notes by Major T.B. Jervis, 1845

Over time eventually almost all of the bungas have disappeared, being replaced by new structures; today the only two remaining bungas are the Akal Takht (Akal Bunga) and the twin towers of the Ramgharia Bunga. Although they are long gone, the palaces (bungas) of Amritsar live on in memory and are still remembered every day in the common Sikh prayer of Ardas:

May the bungas, the banners, the cantonments abide from age to age. May the cause of truth and justice prevail everywhere at all times, utter, Wondrous God!.

  9. agree with n30Singh...give it a rest buddy. Focus on yourself perhaps, instead of just chasing after one thing all the time.

The Sikh of the Guroo speaks sweetly and accepts humility as the proper way of life.

    - Bhaee Gurdaas Singh Jee's Vaaraa(n) Ang 32

The purpose of asking the initial question was purely objective; a Gursikh wanted to know the situation regarding this individual as a Gurdvara Sahib wanted to 'host' him. To avoid problems they wanted to find out the latest "news" in regards just to avoid potential problems with Dhunda doing Katha there.

The manner in which you speak can't be good for you or me.

  10. Can someone please give me a link to Sarbjeet Dhunda's video where he's preaching against Jaap Sahib - need it quite urgently...?

Also any other videos where there is evidence of his anti-Dasam Guroo Granth Sahib Jee, anti-Rehat etc etc preaching...

    Thanks.
