Controversy works! This is a sad but true reality today amongst our people. I noticed that when I posted topics about Siksh takign themickey about being Siksh for a day durign wedding ceremonies and then cutting their hair b4 reception and how sumting needs to be done, I had a luke warm response and had to keep bumping up the topic to keep it in ur eyes! When i posted a topic about how the SGPC has clearly declared on the 16th Jan that people with cut hair are not sikhs, i had little response. BUT as soon as I post sumthing slightly praising Hindus about the period 652 -1469 ( 900 years approx) before Guru nanaks birth, and about how many brave Hindus must have fought the Muslims after India was first attacked in 652 until guru jis brith in 1469 ( 900 years) otherwise Guru Nanak would have been born a Muslim. I HAD 4 PAGES WORTH OF REPSONSES! I posted that thread sat back and watched..... Why cant we be as passioante about our own SIKHI? and how we are gonna move forward?? Why is always about the so called muslims, hindus etc???? What can we do to move forward without relying on talking abotu Hindus/muslims all the time?? DO I NEED TO BE CONTROVERSAIL TO GET YOUR ATTENTION????

To answer sum 1 elses question, yes I believe being born into a certian religion makes you that religion until u are old enough to decide OTHERWISE! 2. To me I do beleive that Guru Nank started life as a Hindu then chose to form his own Religion/belife system 3. I ASKED FOR SOME PEOPLE with any knowledge to inform me bout the warriors who fought for India between 652 -1469, so that the whole country was not Muslim before guru Nanak was born, because I do feel if they hadnt fought liek they did, guru ji would have been born in a MUSLIM family, as everyone would have been converted! Instead I get all these people posting rubbish bout Hindu this and dat? 4, to answer sum1 else yes I do believe that the Islam invaders agenda was to convert others to ISLAM as they had done the same to MODERN DAY Iran, Iraq, Syria,Yemen, Saudi within 20 years of Mohammeds death. PS : By the time of guru Nanaks birth half of Punjab was Muslim so yeh OBVIOUSLY the agenda of the mulsims was to convert people! West Punjab was mostly Muslim - the eastern side and the Punjab hills were Hindu Muslim states Delhi Sultanate under the Lodhi kings Bahmani Kingdom of the Deccan South India Bengal Gujurat and Malwa Hindu States Rajput Confedaracy under Rana Sanga Vijaynagar of South India Orrisa Assam and eastern India Gondwana It seems going by what u just said the that the Hindus were still in control of the mroe powerful states/fiefdoms in the region?

Oh come on yaar, lets ptu our anti Hindu thought aside for a moment at be FAIR ; the truth is : 1. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born a Hindu in 1469, and thats me , a pretty hardcore SIKH admitting it! Because I understand that you cant change history to suit yourself! He was raised a Hindu until he started sikhi in 1500. 2. No matter what you say, had these HINDUS not defended India so well for 900 years, (between 652-1469), the whole of PUNJAB would have been Muslim by the time Guru Nanak was born, and he himself would have been born a Muslim ,and hence no SIKHI??? 3. These PUNJABI Hindus are our Ancestors, whose descendants later became sikhs. RESPECT

I had very interesting talk with a learned Sikh history working at the library in havelock gurdwara and the conversation basically went like this and ended with a question : 1. India was first attcked in 652 by the Turkhs - Muslims 2. Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born a Hindu in 1469 3. Therefore India was defended between 652 - 1469 ( 900 years) by brave HINDUS, which ensured that by the time of Guru Nanaks birth he was born a HINDU 4. Had these HINDUS not defended India so well ( between 652-1469), the whole of PUNJAB would have been Muslim by the time Guru Nanak was born, and he himslef would have been born a Muslim ,and hence no SIKHI??? 5. These Punjabi Hindus are our ANCESTORS!!! So who were they? I respect BRAVERY from any religion and race so I give these poeple RESPECT! BUT WHO WERE THEY? ANYONE KNOW BOUT THIS PERIOD 652 TO 1469?

Ok I will, but what are you doign abotu it? Why dotn you talk to your local gurdwara members adn get it stopped then? PS : follow my lead in making sure anyone you know is sikh for the whole day, when they get married in gurdwara! Can u get respect for sggs campaing involved?
