  1. The journalist didn't throw his shoe at jagdish tytler. He threw it at a congress party representative. He didn't throw to hurt, but to signal his disgust at the representatives ignoring of his questions and he tossed it lightly in his direction not at his face etc. Usually I'd say that it was a meaningless act that made no difference... but ... (Wikipedia) Denial of Lok Sabha ticket After this shoe throwing incident, Congress party dropped both Tytler and Sajjan Kumar as congress candidates for Lok Sabha 2009 elections[14]. Jadgish Tytler accused the media of victimizing him through a media trial. Tytler blamed the Shiromani Akali Dal and his enemies within the Congress party for scuttling his nomination[15]. So, thats a result. A personal sacrifice furthering the Sikh cause and noone had to die.
  2. Whats this hangup about mobile phones ? Radio has been around for a long time. Wireless transmitters. Ships were able to talk to each other across hundreds of miles from before WW2 without wires. All the astronauts transmitter had to do is reach the spacecraft and then the spacecraft had transmit back to earth. A spacecraft that could carry whatever size battery it needed for the purpose. As for the hardware and software ? Enough velocity to escape orbit and enough correction to land. What else is needed ? Stop being cranks, it doesn't do any of your political beliefs any good either. A crank in one area is far more likely to be a crank in another.
  3. Slander spread by her political opponents, the Hindu nationalists. The congress party has always been accused (by RSS et al) of favoring Muslims over the majority Hindus. Haven't we got enough real grievances against that family rather then believe and repeat everything we hear ?
  4. I've watched the video. I still can't see any point where any man (hindu, muslim, atheist or agnostic) tries to rape the reporter. The reporter herself doesn't make this accusation. It seems some peoples attention span only last for 7 words as a headline. Seriously. Take a long hard look at yourselves.

    Re:

What do you mean by legal ? They're all 'legal'. IF you mean non-muslim then say non-muslim.
  6. Obsession with labels. A curse of the modern age. There are 25 million people describing themselves as Sikh. We can't agree on anything and divine revelation was 500 - 300 years ago. There are a billion Muslims and its been 1500 years since their divine revelation. Lets leave the arguing over what is and what isn't Islamic to them. Sufi's consider themselves Muslim. What is so dirty about the label, Muslim that you which to disassociate any positive engagement Sikhs have had with them but remember all of the bad ones. The prejudices of 1947 shouldn't infiltrate religion.
  7. I picked one of those facts at random. It says that 25 percent of Belgium is Muslim. I thought that was high. Quick check reveals that 'An 2008 estimation show that 6% of the Belgian population'.
  8. I don't care if the guys a martian and calling himself lunar chuddi buttons. Why don't you look at what he's saying?
  9. Why are you calling yourself a "ravidassia" Sikh? You've just proven his point, no matter if he's a ravidassi, a sikh or neither.
  10. Its got Dehli in there. Good luck with that.
  11. Have abortions because they're going to have a girl.
  12. Or she could be who she says she is. No evidence ? No proof ? You'll find someone on here to invent a conspiracy around it. If you google lovewest.co.uk http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&s...earch&meta= You can see that theres a program being made, and they're prob looking for an 'ethnic' to go along with a few assorted white single mothers in a reality tv show. Tacky ? Perhaps. Conspiracy? No. You should really look at your own lives and resolve some deep seated issues, I'm thinking of 2 posters here who spend most of there time trying to lash out at anyone who thinks differently to them or is different to them. Pyar is the ultimate requisite for a human being. And every Sikh should be a human being first.
  13. It would be best to contact charities who help lone, young mothers who've been kicked out of homes etc. Try Southall Black Sisters.
  14. From your first post on this thread. I'm in a long term relationship. I have had other long term relationships. In the middle of getting the money, property and head sorted for marriage. The big deal is that somehow you think this is starting a marriage on the best possible foot. Wrong. Its starting a marriage on the worst possible foot. You may very well laugh it off. But imagine your fiance finding out that a strange man has been snooping on her, following her, taking pictures of her because you paid him to. Its a violation for a woman. And forget about her hiding things from you, by employing one of these firms, you're hiding something from her without even lying. There is no substitution for trust.
  15. Completely false. Earlier you said that this 'spying' will give you an idea of what a person is like. Even if you followed a person around for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a year. You wouldn't have a clue. How old are you exactly ? I'm 28.
  16. I'm not hiding anything. I'm secure in myself. It means I don't need to stand in judgment over other people or know 'everything' about them to know them how it matters. I'm not afflicted by thoughts of sexual purity or impurity. I do not believe either exists. The things I would want to know about my future wife cannot be found out by any private investigator. Things like:- What makes her smile? What makes her angry? Can I make her smile when she is angry? How does she want to raise children? How many children does she want? What are her dreams? Is she kind? Can she put up with my faults? Those kind of questions, only one person can answer.
  17. If you eyes are gundeh then you'll see gaandh everywhere.
  18. If even a Guru tries to escape a siege, or rides quickly past a falling wall. Then why cannot this Sant try to escape. To many people on this site recognise stupidity as bravery.
  19. Her bribe probably wasn't enough, or to the right people. We all know what the system is over there.
  20. Do you read much ? got loads of books why ?? Have you read any of them ?
  21. I'm not an Amritdhari. Not even close. I couldn't even say I'm a Sikh beyond the label handed down to me from my ancestors. I'm willing to listen and learn but even a mona can tell the difference between a good lesson and a bad one. I wouldn't pay to much heed to those who say and think silly things. Its hard being an Amritdhari, and it was never easy. For some people perhaps it is too much, within our community they get respect, outside of it they get persecution. Is it any wonder that some people may wish to retain the respect they have within the community at all costs? Unfortunately for an even fewer number this means demeaning people who have not made that step yet, a multi class system of sikhs with monas at the top, kesh in the middle and amritdharis at the top. Amritdharis should lead by an example of tolerance, understanding and discipline of body and mind. If an Amritdhari doesn't show these things, then he/she is wearing the uniform but hasn't undergone the necessary training to teach anyone anything about spiritual matters yet.
  22. Attacking the priest ? Firebombing a house ? These are indefensible actions of an angry man. Some of you may understand this rage, I don't. Surely everyone can see that people can't go around trying to kill other people because they feel angry. What kind of society do you want to live in where this is even vaguely acceptable ?
