Khalsa Ji, Our local Gurdwara Sahib, in Kent Uk, has an abundance of Rumalah Sahibs. They are all brand new, unused, and really fantastic. The surplus is so much, that they have run out of space to store them. Some members of the sangat have suggested doing saskar. I was wondering if anybody could use them, rather than discarding them. I know that the Gurdwara sahibs in rural areas of India, have a immense shortage of ramalah sahibs. But what’s the cheapest way of getting the ramalas to India? Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated... Waheguru...

Thousands of years ago, the dharmi rajas of India had a free meal service. This free meal was available to anyone. The name given to this free meal service was shaatar. It was usually served near the gates to the kingdom. The word ‘langar” is a Persian word. Even today, there are many free meal services, by various organisations. We have to concede though, the taste, and the bliss in Guru Nanak’s langar is unparalleled. Waheguru...

GURU NANAK"--GURU OF ENTIRE UNIVERSE AS IN PURANS In the BHAVEKHATH PURANA"BHAVEKHATH" means "future foretelling". There are numerous places in this famous Hindu epic where the advent of Guru NANAK is directly alluded to. These instances are listed hereunder -(i)"Theraa bhaareng thereshtwah keli krethem maha krethyaa. Aeveng vaeetharam parchaariang bhavekhthee thaa kalau. Thatha veiloka rakheiaartheng maleishana naas heithwei paschmeitlheng subhtheisay vath wensei chei Nanaka naam nach rekhiang brahemgeaanaik manas bhavekhet kaloe skunth thatar verth kaleaah har (35)."meaning"In the Kali Yuga when goodness in the world is deteriorating therewill appear a Prophet from the Beithi clan named NANAKwho from birth will be endowed with extra-ordinary spiritual power. He will preach on the nobility of life and the eradication ofthe sinful ways"(ii)In another portion of this book the following short cogent quotation supplies further pertinent information on the advent of Nanak"Guru thaa Brahma, Guru raa Vishnu, Guru raa dev maheshra saakhyaarParbrehem Thasmei NANAK nameh"meaning"The GURU OF PROPHETS, BHRAHMA, VISHNU, AND SHIV JI, THE GOD HIMSELF.This very Creator will manifest itself as a human,in the form of one whose name will be "NANAK "Note the clarity and explicitness in which the coming of Nanak is predicted.Further down in this book is recorded the following detailed assertiveness about Nanak and the type of mission and work he shall perform. It appears to emanate from the Godhead itself."The Kali Yuga shall dawn on Earth with radical manifestation of destruction of Karma and Dharma to such an extent that every situation shall be colored by sinful activities. At that distressful moment, the Creator shall send down a spiritual luminary in the form of NANAK from the Khatria clan. He will spread the message of NAAM, the Holy life Force, by introducing the primacy of meditation and thus washing clean the sinful ways by the waters of love."Note the beautiful and comprehensive description of the happening.(iv) There is yet another quotation from this same Bhavekhath Purana indicative of Nanak and the 9 prophets that consecutively followed his lineage : -"When in the world there is the deterioration of noble Dharma, then Vishnu will reincarnate through 10 Prophethoods and will preach on the universal and omnipotent value of NAAM. (the Holy Life Force)"In DHIGVAJEH PURANA"During the reign of the 8 Muslim rulers, LORD will incarnate in 10 human forms and after them will appear a (Mona) SILENT Guru (meaning the SGGS, the Sikh Scripture) who will only respond where the response is solicited."The word SILENT is of great importance - it refers to the Sikh Scriptural Book (SGGS). This is the first time in the history of Religion that a Sacred Book was elevated to the status of a Prophet. Unlike a Prophet in body form with the inherent capacity to make utterances, a Book has to be categorized as being basically 'Silent'. This is indeed a startling revelation, pinpointing the coming into the world of a (mona) Silent Guru, thousands of years before the actual occurrence. The eight Muslim Rulers were 1. - Sultan Lodhi, 2. - Babar, 3. - Humanyuh, 4. - Akbar, 5 - Jehangir, 6 - Shah Jahan, 7 - Aurangzeb, 8 - Bahadur Shah, These precisely were the Rulers in India during the period in which the 10th Sikh Guru came into being. This further emphasizes the authenticity of the revelation and the happening.5. Through PATANJALI the great Indian (Hindu) SagePatanjali, one of the top Indian Yogis of old, came 2180 years before Guru Nanak. In his Ashram while lecturing on the Prophets of the Kali Yuga, the Iron Age, he singled out Guru Nanak as the one who will be outstanding. When asked what will be his prime mantra, He replied. -"Wahyanti karyanti jathputi athak etwaha brahamadeya, teisah Gur et WAHEGURU"meaning"He will use a unique single syllable mantra which has not been ever utilized before at any Age or Era. This will be WAHEGURU."Waheguru mantra, which means "Lord of Wonderment" has since been popularised by Guru Nanak and all the nine other Sikh Gurus that followed him.

https://youtu.be/EPZMPUTt5fI Supernatural Powers Following are some Supernatural Powers: Ridhi-Sidhi Please know that these powers can only be earned with constant meditation and Simran on the one and only Waheguru. These are supernatural powers, and include Ridhi, Sidhi, Nau-Nidhi, Budhi, and Mukti - Ridhi It is attainment, success, progress, and affluence. Literally, Ridhi also means cooked-food. The practitioner of the Naam becomes widely known (influential), and the people start bringing him or her all sorts of foods, eatables, gifts, and other commodities - one of his attainments. Sidhi Occult, i.e. supernatural powers. One can be present at more than one places at one and the same time, can make prophesies, become invisible, get power to fly, can make things happen, bless (and curse) others, produce things from nowhere, bring back life to the dead, and solve problems of the others. His or her Hamzad (astral-self) can separate from the gross body and visit places etc. Such powers come naturally as well. Power to change his body with another on verge of the other’s death, can develop. Some may get the power to die at will, and even of automatic self-immolation of his or her dead body. The practitioner does not usually long or work for them. He is not supposed to display his or her prowess. Moreover, these are considered to be of no great merit, are interference in the Lord’s plans, and are a hindrance in the God realization. These do not lead to emancipation - Ridh-e sidh-e sabhu mohu haae Naamu naa vassaae Manne aa-ae Supernatural powers are attachments, These do not permit the Naam to get set in the mind. 5-593-18 Sidhis are 18. (Shabdarath, S,G,P.C., 1986, Page 10). Minor Sidhis These are ten: Door-Darshan - to see all, clairvoyance. Door-Sarvan - to hear all, clairaudience. Par-Kaya Parvesh - ability to enter other’s body. To rejuvenate, he may discard his own old body and enter that of a (dying) young person. Annuram - freedom from hunger and thirst. Kaamroop - adopt desired form, ability to change the form to that of another person. Savichhatt-Mirtu - to die at will, to die the way one wants to. Sankalap Sidhi - to get desires fulfilled, to have all that one wants. Apprittehatt-Gatee - ability to go anywhere without any hindrance or obstruction. Mano-Veg - to go anywhere at the speed of thought. Sur-Kareer.a - to have enjoyment along with gods, to join them in enjoyments (merry making). Major Sidhis These are eight: Anima - ability to become very small, minute. Mahema - to become big, gain colossal size. Garima - to become heavy, gain an excessive weight. Laghima - to become light, subtle. Praptee - to get success, achieve goals, and get fulfilled. Prakamya - to read the minds of other people. Eeshihta (Isatva) - lordliness, and power to persuade others. Vashihta (Vasitva) - to control other’s mind. Self control - control over all senses. Nau-Nidhi Main article: Nau Nidh Nidhis are nine types of treasures - (Page 506, Gur Shabad Ratnakar, Kahn Singh, Bhasha Vibhag, 1960. Shabdarath, S,G,P.C., 1986, Page 10). Padam-Nidhi - attainment of sons, grand sons, gold, silver, i.e. the precious metals. Mahan-Padam - one gets diamonds, rubies and other gems and jewels (precious stones). Kharab - riches of all kinds. Kund - trading in gold. Nil - trading in precious stones, jewels, and gems. Sankh - delicious eatables (Procuring from nowhere). Kachhap - clothes and food-grains in abundance, no shortage. Mukund - mastery in arts, music, and poetry. Makar - gives the art of using weapons and sovereignty on others. Nidhis give property, products of land and sea, servants, health, wisdom, animals and conveyance etc. An adept gets accepted, respected, and honored by everyone. The people start giving him each and every thingimaginable. Budhi Wisdom. He becomes a Brahm-Giani: one with the knowledge about God - a realized person. This confirms the practitioner into - Bharosa - faith. A deep faith and dependence on God. A firm faith in Waheguru (God) is the first and the foremost experience of the practitioner of the Naam-Jaap. He becomes a firm believer that God is one and there is none other like Him, He is the Creator, Doer, everywhere, Omnipotent and every thingis under His will. Leenta - an absolute attachment (absorption) to God. Santokh - contentment (on destiny). Detachment - from the dear ones and the worldly possessions. Hukam - acceptance of the will of God. It is total surrender to Him. Sehaj - equilibrium, equipoise. Anand - perpetual delight, permanent joy. Vismaad - ecstasy: Joy plus wonderment, forgetting the self. Nidar - benevolence of God. He believes in the mercy of God as an instrument of his attainments, and that his own efforts mean nothing. This attitude keeps him free from ego. His efforts are needed to make him fit for the mercy of God. Mukti or Moksh Liberation from the worldly attachments, transmigration, and from the cycle of birth and death (reincarnation). These are the characteristics of a Mukat (emancipated, liberated person). Char-Padarath Four boons These are - Dharam, Arath, Kaam, and Moksh. These four are the usual goals of life for everyone - an ethical discipline of life, assets to fulfill the needs, marriage and children, and in the end liberation. Dharam - discipline. Understanding of his or her duties i.e. virtues (ethics). Arath - assets. He or she has no dearth of money - precious metals, pearls, and stones. Gets all the wealth. Kaam - desires. His or her all desires get fulfilled and it covers marriage and children. Moksh - redemption (liberation). He or she attains emancipation. Traaekaal-Drishti, Vaak-Sidhi Traaekaal Drishti - Triple-Vision (three-dimensional), all knowing. He can see (know) all that happened in the past, is going on now, and will come tomorrow (omniscient). The powers of intuition and prophecy develop, he will know things before these happen, can make predictions and foretell his own end. These experiences should be taken as indicators of progress. Boasting about them creates an ego, which hinders further advancement of the practitioner. Commonly, the people think that these should be kept secret. Of course, one should share these only with the right persons. Such things motivate others to do the Naam-Jaap. The Guru advises to recite His name and to attach others to do so. Vaak-Sidhi - Whatever he or she says, comes to pass (happens). It is generally advised that anyone practicing the Naam, should never let anything unwanted escape from his or her mouth. Samm-Drishti, Turi-aa-Avastha Samm-Drishti - No discrimination. Everyone is one and the same to him. He perceives God in every thingand everyone. Turiyaa Avastha - Chautha-Padd (Fourth Dimension) - Going higher to the three states of Maya (mundane, the worldly things) i.e. ego, evil and virtue. The world is a play of these three dimensions. Turiaa Avastha means the Fourth State i.e. detachment from these three characteristics of the world, and transcending them (Transcendental Meditation). Deh Abhav One feels that one’s body is no more. The body-sense disappears. With the Naam-Jaap, one rises to such a level of absorption in God that one has no more to do with the body. When there is no body sense, there is no affliction or pain. He or she gets detached from the physical existence, and goes above the fear of disease and death. There is no disease or death for such a realized person. To keep him or her alive, others have to take his or her care.

There is fire in wood. There is water under the ground. There is butter in milk. When these things are left untouched, we cannot see it. When wood is rubbed together, it produces the fire. When milk is churned, we have butter. When we dig a well, we get water. Waheguru’s jyot is within us, we need to churn our mind with simran... Waheguru...

Khalsa Ji, The opinions posted in this video are severely flawed. With regards to the transfer of Gurta Gaddi, it was necessary to do matha tek with paise and narial. If the transfer was just completely invisible, then there would’ve been others claiming that the Jyot was passed on to them. Sanatan Granths state that one should not go empty handed to a saintly person. All this was done to show the world that, if Guru Nanak does the matha tek, then so should we. Guru Nanak could’ve changed all this maryada, but what was the need to change!!! There’s nothing wrong with taking an offering to a saintly person. This video is full of kushak gyan!!! The video lacks nimrata, prema bhagti, and sharda... Rather than doing kamaiee of Gurbani, new preachers have found it easier to do nindiya of Gurmat!!! Waheguru....

There seems to be a trend these days to dismiss history as ‘adulterated’, just because it is used in sanatan traditions. Kesh are a Santan tradition. Considering tobacco to be evil is from sanatan dharam. Having physical relations with one’s own spouse only is from sanatan dharam . Sharing food is from Santan dharma... If theses new preachers remain unchecked, they will start to dismiss all of these things as adulteration of Gurmat... We need to keep alert... Waheguru...

Khalsa Ji, With regards to Bhai Gurdas ji’s vaaran, about Waheguru Gurmantar. I feel that this video is misinterpreting the Vaar. My understanding is that ਵ is from Vasudev. ਹ is from Hari. ਗ is from Gobind. ਰ is from Ram. All,of these names of Akal Purakh were used. The word Waheguru has nothing to do with deities. If in doubt, read the chapter from the history of 6th Patshahi, where Bhai Gurdas Ji explained the meaning of Waheguru to the seven hundred intellectual Pandits of Kanchi. The Pandits of Kanchi became Sikhs of 6th Patshahi, after hearing the katha. Waheguru...
