  1. Mr. Coolwater, this has everything to do with Khalistan. The people promoting these shady missionaries the most are these fake Khalistanis who control 95% of the Gurdwaras in the west. These missionaries reject Nitnem Banis, Amrit Sanchar Banis, and so many Panthic traditions, yet these so-called Khalistanis continue to promote them and allow them on their Gurdwara stages. Shivteg has committed a cardinal sin (bajjar kurehat) of having a physical relationship with another women - are these the types of preachers you want on your Gurdwaras' stages? How will we get Khalistan when we are not even ready to accept the Khalsa Rehat and follow the Khalsa code of conduct? The current Sikh leaderships is full of such adulterers and scoundrels - would you like them to be the next leaders of Khalistan? Khalistan is not a game. The Sikh Nation does not deserve Khalistan if it is not willing to clean house first and become real Khalsas.
  2. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5549 Shivteg Singh Vanishes While His Cohorts Attempt to Rebuild His Reputation IN-DEPTH COVERAGE ON ALLEGATIONS AGAINST SHIVTEG SINGH BRAMPTON, ONTARIO (KP) - On May 11, 2014, Panthic.org (Khalsa Press) published a news article regarding well-known ‘missionary’ kathavachak Shivteg Singh after he was discovered having an illicit affair with a married bibi Dhadhi group member during his visit at Ontario Khalsa Darbar, popularly known as Dixie Gurdwara. After this affair was exposed publicly, Shivteg Singh, who often performed katha at the historic Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, embarrassingly fled the Gurdwara Sahib complex and kept a low profile until he momentarily re-appeared for a day or so at the heretical ‘Sikh Lehar Center’ - often dubbed as the ‘Sikh Zehar Center’ due to its anti-Panthic activities. Interestingly, Shivteg has not given any public statement or clarification regarding the affair or the cancellation of his programs and his eventual dismissal from Ontario Khalsa Darbar in May. "Panthic.org stands behind this news article unequivocally 100%, as we have evidence that not only that Shivteg Singh was in an intimate physical relationship with Amandeep Kaur, but also that the Ontario Khalsa Darbar committee members knew about this relationship and tried to cover it up for legal or personal reasons." 4. True Face of Anti-Dasam Bani Missionary Lobby BRAMPTON, CANADA (KP) - Sources close to the Ontario Khalsa Darbar (Dixie Gurdwara) have stated that Shivteg Singh, the controversial pseudo-missionary ‘katha-vachak’ from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, was ejected from the Gurdwara premises after he was caught in a compromising position with another married women during his recent tour in Canada. Shivteg Singh, who is highly, regarded by anti-Dasam Bani heretics, as a great orator and ‘giani’ regularly delivered his sermons from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, has often toured Canada on behest of the heretic missionary lobby that openly rejects the sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji that is enshrined in Sri Dasam Granth. A spokesperson from Ontario Khalsa Darbar has admitted that Shivteg Singh was recently expelled from the Gurdwara Sahib due to ‘some wrong doings’, but has not divulged further information on the incident. Relatedly, the grand patron of the heretics, Gurbaksh Kala-Afghana, who was excommunicated from the Panth from his blasphemous writings, was also mired by various controversies related to adultery, attempted rape, and sexual abuse. Nevertheless, the pseudo-missionary lobby touts that such societal ills and characterless issued only existed in deras, and their preachers are somehow immune from such controversy. Shivteg Singh's controversy puts the pseudo-missionary in quite a quandary. http://panthic.org/articles/5545
  5. Almost Half-Century Later, Sardar Kapur Singh's Warning Continues to Haunt Sikh Nation SOURCE: http://www.panthic.org/articles/5528 Sardar Kapur Singh, the Sikh parliamentarian, theologian, was a former member of the elite Indian ICS. He was the main architect behind the famed “Anandpur Sahib Resolution” and was an unrelenting critic of the prejudiced policies of India in terms of the Sikh Nation. His famous work "Saachi Sakhi", details the systematic subjugation of the Sikh community after 1947 under the newly founded Indian hegemony. Highly regarded in Panthic circles, Sardar Kapur Singh was bestowed the title "National Professor of Sikhism" by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He would publicly scorn the ineffectual callous Sikh leadership and in his lectures, he would passionately implore the youth to reject this scourge as they had become an obstacle in fulfilling the divine destiny of the Khalsa. On August 23rd, 1968, during a conference organized by the All India Sikh Students Association, at Punjab University, Chandigarh, he uttered the following: “...The Young Khalsa now must actively undertake to deliver the Sikh masses from the slavery of spiritual charlatans, called the sants and the Sikh Panth from the ruinous leadership of incompetent thugs and uneducated hooligans, called the jathedars." These prophetic words of caution uttered by the great Sikh statesman nearly half a century ago, still ring true today, as the people of Punjab for whom Sardar Kapur Singh tirelessly agitated for all his life, seem content shackled by the mental slavery imposed by the current Panthic leadership of spiritual charlatans (sants) and incompetent thugs (jathedars) . 6. The Masand incident is documented in Pracheen Panth Parkash as such: When the masands were struck by such a perverted thought, They also got a copy of the sacred Guru Granth Sahib burnt. They also got their own place of worship constructed at a place, Where they had committed such a heinous deed. (14) Dohra : They disintegrated the Sikh congregations at many places, And merged these splintered groups into their own following. When the Guru came to hear about such a development, He ordered an immediate execution of the masands. (15) Chaupai : When the Singhs received such a decree from the Guru, They massacred and burnt alive all the masands. Some were slaughtered; some were buried alive in walls, Still others were dragged and roasted in cauldrons of boiling oil. (16)
  7. Baba Ram Singh never called himself a 'Guru' and his letters prove that. Only his chelas referred to him as a 'Guru'. After listening to his bachans, I have full confidence that Baba Jarnail Singh Ji would have never entered a court of such an imposter and ਸ਼ਰੀਕ of Guru Sahib as some of others have done. Such should be the commitment of every Sikh who has faithfully given his 'sees' to His Guru only and none other. The establishment of Naamdharee "Gurus" at the so-called Bhenee "Sahib" was a great sacrilege and a direct challenge to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Authority and Supremacy. These so-called Sikhs who seek the sangat or blessings for such impostors have turned their backs to Guru Nanak Dev-Guru Gobind Singh-Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's GurGaddee and Durbar. Gurbani is clear about the fate this inviduals: ਜੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਮੁਹ ਫਿਰੇ ਤਿਨਾ ਠਉਰ ਨ ਠਾਉ ॥ ਜਿਉ ਛੁਟੜਿ ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਦੁਹਚਾਰਣਿ ਬਦਨਾਉ ॥ Those who turn their faces away from the True Guru, shall find no place of rest or shelter. They wander around from door to door, like a woman forsaken, with a bad character and a bad reputation. (Ang 645)
  8. Dhunda is currently in the Vancouver area, local Singhs should keep him in check there too.
  9. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5488 (full article) After the meeting with Dhunda, PANTHIC.ORG sewadars along with accompanying Singhs approached the committee representatives and reiterated that Dhunda, who is being referred by his promoters as a “ਨਿਧੜਕ” (fearless) scholar and kathakar, is neither fearless and not a scholar, but a coward who is not even willing to admit Guru Gobind Singh Ji wrote three of our Nitnem Banees and not willing to honestly and directly answer our queries. In summary, Dhunda failed to answer any of the questions posed to him in a candid manner, and : Did NOT accept Sikh Rehat Maryada's Kirtan requirements and offered no apologies for twisting the Rehat Maryada's language. Did NOT accept Sikh Rehat Maryada and Mahan Kosh's Definition of Gurbani Did NOT accept Guru Gobind Singh Ji as the author of Sri Jap Sahib, Twaparsaad Sawayay, and Chaupai Sahib Nitnem Banees. Did NOT take responsibility for purposely associating with anti-Panthic individuals who were ex-communicated from the Sikh Panth. Did NOT accept Sri Akal Takht Sahib's HukamNama's prohibiting the criticism of Sri Dasam Bani, including popular shabds as: "ਦੇਹ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ" and continued to criticize them. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5488 (full article)
  10. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5484 DHUNDA STARTS CALIFORNIA TOUR UNDER POLICE PROTECTION, HIDES BEHIND WOMEN PANTHIC.ORG | Published on January 1, Scene of Chaos During Dhunda's California Visit BUENA PARK, CA (KP) – The heretic missionary preacher Sarbjit Dhunda’s first program in Southern California initiated into chaos in the face of livid opposition from the Sikh community for his blasphemous remarks on Naam Simran and Sri Dasam Bani, and seeking safety, he eventually ended up hiding behind a cadre of women supporters. Sarbjit Dhunda, who had faced fiery opposition during his recent UK trip, was visibly shaken by the intensity of opposition that continues to follow him abroad. His initial program was scheduled at Buena Park Gurdwara in Southern California for New Year’s Eve. Local Gursikhs had met with the management committee earlier in the week, and had been promised that a free discussion between the Singhs and Sarbjit Dhunda would be held. But the craven Dhunda, out of fear, declined to meet with the Gursikhs for a discussion even after multiple attempts. During the New Year’s Eve program at Buena Park, many Gursikhs had already gathered at the Gurdwara Sahib and were collectively reciting Naam Simran, when the management committee demanded that they vacate the stage and leave the Gurdwara premises so the stage could be handed over to Dhunda. Since both the management and Dhunda reneged on thier promise, the Gursikhs refused to leave and continued on with the Simran recitation along with the Sangat. Gursikhs manhandled, Dastars Removed According to eyewitnesses, a handful of Dhunda supporters along with committee members then became very aggressive and started to manhandle the Gursikhs sitting on stage. This altercation eventually resulted in the forcible removal of the dastars of two Gursikhs and a committee member. Much to the embarrassment of his cronies, the "ਨਿਧੜਕ" Dhunda showed his cowardly colors at this time by strategically placing himself behind a cadre of female supporters who were more than eager to provide him this protection. Interestingly he has done exactly the same thing in Edmonton, Canada when he hid alongside female supporters during a similar ruckus in 2011. Police Called Enter Divan Hall with Shoes The management committee, who had earlier backtracked on their promise for a peaceful discussion between both parties, in a desperate attempt to silence the Sangat, summoned the Police authorities who entered the premises bare-headed and with their shoes on and forcibly removed the Gursikhs from the Gurdwara premises. The refusal of Dhunda to have a discussion with the Gursikhs, and the heavy handed tactics of the gurdwara management to silence and forcibly remove these dozens of Amritdhari Singhs from the Gurdwara premises illustrates the level of desperation of Dhunda and supporters who want utilize Gurdwara platforms for their blasphemous mis-parchar but are not willing to face the concerns and queries of the Sangat who are questioning their malicious agenda. Key Gurdwaras Shun Heretic Preacher It seems as if Dhunda’s California tour is already off to a rough start, and could be possibly cut short as key Gurdwara Sahibs throughout the state have declined to host this heretic’s hate filled sermons which openly attack the concept of Naam Simran, the Nitnem Banis, and sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji. Gurdwara Sahibs have always been the core institution for Sangat and Gurmat parchar for our community, they should never be misused as a venue for heresy and mis-parchar. 11. http://panthic.org/articles/5483 PANTHIC.ORG | Published on December 30, 2012 SAN FRANCISCO (KP) - Sarbjit Dhunda, the controversial missionary preacher, who not long ago was summoned and reprimanded by Sri Akal Takht Sahib for making derogatory statements about Gurbani kirtan recited at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, has again become the center of controversy as he continues to malign and distort the sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji enshrined in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib. On February of 2012, Sarbjit Dhunda appeared at Sri Akal Takht Sahib in front of the five Singh Sahibans and asked for forgiveness for his transgression. According to Giani Gurbachan Singh, the current installed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Dhunda assured the Singh Sahibans that he would refrain from making such remarks in the future. Dhunda has also denied being the voice behind the an older video posted on YouTube by his own cohorts in which he is clearly heard making insulting remarks on the verses of Sri Jaap Sahib. News Coverage on Dhunda's Punishment in February 2012 In return for his appearance, Dhunda received a mild “tankhah” (religious penance) for the sacrilegious remarks about Sri Darbar Sahib Kirtan, but no less than four months later he again restarted to spew venom against the sacred Bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and in a June 5th speech at Nagpur, Maharashtra, he claimed that kirtanees in the Sikh Panth are continually violating the Sikh Rahit Maryada by reciting verses from Sri Dasam Granth. – Sarbjit Dhunda (June 5th, 2012 – Nagpur) Dhunda claims that the Sikh Rahit Maryada only allows recitation of verses from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Bhai Gurdas Ji’s Kabits/Vaars, and Bhai Nand Lal Ji’s Gazals during kirtan. Dhunda, who often ridicules and chides other kathakars as being “ਗਪੌੜੀ ਸਾਧ”, shows his true colors by distorting and twisting the wording in the 'Kirtan' section of the Sikh Rehat Maryada. The actual statement is as follows: (ਸਿੱਖ ਰਹਿਤ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ) Nowhere is it mentioned in the Sikh Rahit Maryada that only Gurbani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji can be recited – in fact – only the word “ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ” is used as the condition. According to the Mahan Kosh (The Encyclopedia of Sikhism), Gurbani connotes to the Sacred Bani revealed by the various Roops of SatGuru Nanak Dev Ji to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ : ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇਵ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ (ਮਹਾਨ ਕੋਸ਼) For centuries, the sacred Gurbani revealed by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji has been recited at all Sikh Takhts, and Gurdwara Sahibs, never has anyone questioned the validity of this recitation.Disparaging Remarks on Sikh National Anthem In another video, at a different venue, Sarbjit Dhunda claims that the well-known Gurbani verses “ਦੇਹ ਸਿਵਾ ਬਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਇਹੈ ਸੁਭ ਕਰਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਟਰੋਂ ॥“, which are often referred to as the “Sikh National Anthem”, are not the work of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and that these verses promote the worship of Hindu deity Shiv Ji. The above comments illustrate Dhunda’s utter lack of understanding the depth of Guru Sahib's Divine Gurbani - this is not at all surprising since this Dhunda barely has a high-school education, and despite having no higher-level education, he continues to refer to himself as a "professor". Had Dhunda spent some time reciting and studying Gurbani, he would not be making these foolish claims. Guru Gobind Singh Ji clearly declares in Beni Chaupai: ਤਾ ਕੌ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਹਨ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਤ ॥ਮਹਾ ਮੂੜ੍ਹ ਕਛੁ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ॥ The great fool thinks that God is a stone. But he does not know the difference between the two. ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਕੋ ਕਹਤ ਸਦਾ ਸਿਵ ॥ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰ ਕਾ ਚੀਨਤ ਨਹਿ ਭਿਵ ॥੬॥ He continues calling Mahadev as the Eternal God (Shiv). But he does not know the secrets of the Formless God. (Benti Chaupai – P:10) Furthermore, Guru Arjan Dev Sahib Ji reveals in Raag Todee: ਨਿੰਦਕੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਾਟਿਓ।। ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਸਿਵ ਕੈ ਬਾਣਿ ਸਿਰੁ ਕਾਟਿਓ ॥੧॥ The Supreme Lord has become merciful; with Lord's arrow, He has sliced off his head. ||1|| Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji reveals in Raag Ramkali: ਸਿਵ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਆਸਣੁ ਅਉਧੂ ਅਲਖੁ ਅਗੰਮੁ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥੮॥ (ਮ:੧) The true hermit obtains a seat in the City of God, the invisible, inaccessible, infinite. ||8|| According to Dhunda's logic, even the verses in Guru Granth Sahib are promoting the worship of deity Shiva. It would not be surprising for Dhunda to eventually raise that as an issue. On stage Dhunda has routinely ridiculed various Gurmat traditions and practices such as Simran and Naam-Abhyiaas, yet when he was confronted in Calgary and Toronto by pro-Panthic individuals, he shamelessly claimed that he believed in the concept of Naam-Simran, Amritvela, and Gurmantar and had no issues with Dasam Bani. Yet, his venomous sermons on stage prove otherwise. Strict Action Needed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib Even after appearing at Sri Akal Takht, Sarbjit Dhunda has not stopped disparaging and distorting the sacred Bani of the Guru Gobind Singh Ji – it is high time for the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to give Dhunda a final warning that either he cease and desist from his heretical sermons or face the same fate as the likes of Gurbakhsh Kala-Afghana, and Ragi Darshan. Dhunda’s latest disparaging remarks about the sacred Gurbani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji are nothing more than a feeble attempt by this lunatic to win back sympathy from some of his former cohorts who abandoned him after he appeared at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. They had chided him for recognizing the authority of Jathedars and succumbing to the beliefs and traditions followed by rest of the Panth. It is the duty of the entire Sikh community to keep the pressure on our Panthic institutions so heresy by troublemakers such as Dhunda does not go unnoticed and unpunished. Additionally, a keen eye must be kept on those who continue to promote and sponsor him during his trips abroad - as they are directly responsible for creating divisions amongst the Sikh diaspora. 12. Akj.org does not represent the Akhand Kirtani Jatha - it as site run by just a handful of families in Brampton/Toronto and some of their supporters in UK. These missionary minded "penchainees" are tarnishing the Jatha's name just as Dumma and the Rode family is doing the same to the Taksal. The truth is that the real sevadars in the Jatha have been at the fore-front of pro-Dasam Granth prachar for many years, when no one else was even talking about Sri Dasam Granth. Dr. Tarlochan Singh who was very close to Bhai Randhir Singh Ji, was one of the first Singhs to publish pro-Dasam Granth research in English more than five decades ago. He was the father of Dr. Anurag Singh of Ludhiana, another Dasasm Granth Scholar. There has been a ton of pro-Dasam Granth material published by these Singhs in various Panthic magazines including, Sura, FatehNama, Khandaydhar for many years. These sevadars include: - The late Kirtani Bhai Joginder Singh Ji Talwara - Jathedar Bhai Mohinder Singh Ji Kala-Sanghian - Bhai Ratinder Singh (Sr. Editor - Panthic.org) - Toronto Tapoban Singhs - Shahbaaz Khalsa Singhs - California Jatha Singhs, etc. www.AkhandKirtaniJatha.org (not affiliated with akj.org) has many articles and press releases published by these sewadars. The late Bhai Joginder Singh Ji Talwara was one of the first scholars to counter Gurbakash Kala-Afghana's parchar and instrumental in having him ex-communicated from the Sikh panth. It was the Tapoban Singhs and Shahbaaz Khalsa Singhs who gave fitting replies to naasticks like Ghagga and Jeonwala when others were willing to debate them publicly. It was primarily the California Jatha Singhs who challenged Kala-Afghana in Roseville, and in Selma about 10 years back, and Pakhandi VeerBhupinder when he showed up in Fremont California not to long ago. Due to the dirty politics of akj.org, there has been an active boycott by the akj.org group against Bhai Mohinder Singh, Tapoban Singhs, Shahbaaz Khalsa, and California Singhs, because they are unwilling to participate in their missionary minded mis-parchar. Unfortunately, many youths in Toronto, Vancouver, and California who call themselves "Taksalis" or "Nihangs" continue to attend programs coordinated by akj.org naastics and their surrogates and have even joined in the boycott of the pro-Dasam Granth sevadars. Thanks to the hard work of the Indian government agencies and the naastic Badal Akali Dal sarkar, most current day Panthic institutions have been hijacked by shady individuals who are doing bidding for their master - the Jatha is not immune from this either, nor is the Taksal, Budha Dal, or any other panthic group.
  13. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5481 CHANDIGARH, PUNJAB - All India Sikhs Students Federation (AISSF) and “Sikhs for Justice” (SFJ) has unearthed the “Murder Fields” at Tughlakabad and Nangloi where dozens of Sikhs belonging to Armed Forces were butchered to death during November 1984. The high Ranking officers & junior Ranks those who fell victims to the mayhem unleashed against serving Sikh defence personnel at Tughlakabad and Nangloi Railways Stations is a National Shame say the organizations. AISSF, SFJ And All India Defence Brotherhood (Punjab) released the services particulars and other relevant details of the armed forces personnel killed in November 1984 at death traps laid at Tughlakabad and Nangloi. The documents obtained by AISSF reveals a single FIR Number 355 dated November 1, 1984 lodged under sections 147, 148, 201, 302, and 295 of the IPC lodged with Government Railway Police (GRP) Delhi. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) responsible for law and order at the Railway property not only failed to protect these Sikh Army Officers, but rather it is believed their weapons were instead used to kill the Sikh victims at Tughlakabad and Nangloi Railway Stations. Watch Full Press Conference Here: Pointing to the criminal silence by the Armed Forces for the past 28 years over the murder of its high ranking officers, AISSF President & Brigadier Kahlon have demanded the Ministry of Defence take immediate action in the prosecution of the culprits an leaders which masterminded the planned slaughter of Sikh army men during November 1984. Brigadier Kahlon while speaking at a Press Conference stated that the Defence community in particular and the country as a whole would like to know from the Chiefs of Army Navy and Air Force what action was taken in response to these killings and what will now be done as a result of the revelation of these brutal killings of its own members, with use of their own weaponry and men. Brigadier kahlon and other leaders have also demanded an immediate constitution of judicial commission so that the truth may come out and action be taken against the butchers involved in the killing as serving members of the the national army and armed forces. AISSF has demanded a debate in the Parliament to determine why the slaughters broad day light of the nations defenders were completely ignored and no action has ever been taken against the perpetrators. The ruthless murder of high ranking Sikh Army Officers at Tughlakabad and Nangloi in the presence of Railway Police during November 1984 also proves the connivance of police and entire administration of the country in genocidal attacks on Sikhs stated Peer Mohammad. 14. I will have to agree with veer Chatanga as these puratan saroops themselves are not consistent in the manner Gurbani was scribed. It seems that the overzealous writers of this "news" article did not have all the facts on hand when they put this article together. The truth is that pretty much 100% Saroops printed or scribed today do not have the same text and lagga-matra as the original Damdami Birr. Contrary to all the claims by various Sikh institutions, it is an accepted fact that the Panth no longer has in it's possession the original Damdami Birr or a direct copy of it. Despite the fact that Sikhs are the only people that considers their scriptures as "Guru", as a Panth, we have no system or procedures to check for the accuracy of the text that is either written or published as a saroop of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. In the past much of the blame of this carelessness had been thrown on Nirmala and Udasee scribes of the 18th and 19th century - some of it unfairly since it was the Panth's duty to independently verify the accuracy of this seva. Consider the manner how the Jewish Torah, which Jews do not even consider as their Guru, is precisely handwritten and exhaustibly reviewed for accuracy and can be invalidated even if a single error is made in the text. Does this mean Jews have more respect for the Torah than we have for Guru Granth Sahib Ji? At least it seems like it in all practicality. Sadly, most handwritten saroops and published saroops contain hundreds of variations and differences in the Gurbani text and lagga-matra. Nothing is ever done about it, in fact, in due time, those saroops themselves become the source for text when new Saroops are written or published. At a Panthic level, no effort has being made to identify and preserve the original Gurbani text and lagga-matra, except by the late Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara, along with Vedanti Ji who spent more than 20 years researching puratan Saroops - many of them have since perished due to the 1984 attack and general neglect. Additionally, no effort has been made to implement fruits of their invaluable research. More than 50 years ago, Udasai Harnam Daas (formerly known as the Budha Dal Nihang Naurang Singh, who compiled and standardized Sarabloh Granth after years of researching Sri Dasam Bani and Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Bani), finally concluded that the the not only was the Kartarpuri Birr (currently with the Sodhi family) not the original Birr but that he had not come across an accurately scribed Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib in all the years of his research. The ardously compiled "Paatth Bhedan Dee Soochee" by Bhai Randhir Singh (SGPC Research Scholar), Giani Kundan Singh, and and Bhai Gian Singh Nihang illustrates the wide differences of text across the widely known puratan Saroops housed by the Panth. The sad truth is nothing is being done to solve this most serious dilemma. In the digital media, these inaccuracies are now being imported into Gurbani search engines, and mobile apps and thus the errors continue to proliferate exponentially.. Instead of blaming each other, fighting over petty issues, perhaps the priority of the Panth should be to revive the research to standardize on the most "sudh" printing of the Damdami Saroop - shabd by shabd, akhar by akhar, lagga-matra by lagga matra. Guru bakshish karay!
  15. Bhai Sahib Gurdas Ji's 345th Kabit swaiyay, which no Sikh should refute, also recognizes the Katak date of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji's Parkash.
  16. chatanga veer, I agree with your above statement Khalsa Ji. Please keep in that Panch Khalsa Divan (Bhasaur) was not the entire Panch Khalsa Divan, Baba Attar Singh was also part of Panch Khalsa Divan so very many other good GurSikhs. It was the Bhasaur branch that took those anti-Panthic actions. I agree that the entire Udaasee samperdya was not corrupt, just those who were controlling the Gurdwaras (mahants) and some of the key leaders. If you read about the Nanakana Sahib Saka, you will find before the attack on the Singhs, there was a "Sanatan Sikhi" conference held by Mahant Narainoo which was highly attended by the Nirmalas, Udasees, and many Nihang factions, and this was all coordinated with the British authorities. I think most modern Udaasees and Nirmalas understand what happened during that time was wrong - so I agree it is unfair to paint them all with the same brush. That was no my intention.
  17. khalistan_zindabaad ji, Please let me know which references you are interested in and I shall do my best to provide or cite them. The intention of my post was not undermine any samperdya or group but just pointing out to my veer N30S1NGH Ji that it was not just the Panch Khalsa Divan (Bhasaur) that ended up heading the wrong way but the Nirmalas and Udaasees have done far worse things. I have nothing against Nirmalas and Udaasees, as individuals they have contributed immensely to the Panth - but as an organization not so much - as they do have different values and beliefs than the rest of the Panth. Swami Brahmdev Udasi (Gopal Singh) is a great example of this. He has vast knowledge of Gurbani, especially Sri Dasam Granth, and even though he still carries some sanatan philosophies, but we should look beyond that and appreciate his positive contributions.
  18. N30S1NGH Ji, There is no doubt that Panch Khalsa Divan (Bhasaur) did a lot of good parchar early on but went against the Guru Panth in their later days, but they were not the only ones. Many Nirmala and Udaasee groups are no less guilty of causing massive harm to Sikhi. Giani Sant Singh, although being a great Gurbani Kathakar, was directly responsible for introducing Hindu Aartee rituals inside Sri Darbar Sahib during Maharaj Ranjit Singh's days, and fully participated in Hindu marriage rites organized by the royal families - mainly due to the heavy influence of the Brahmins and Dogras. This is well documented in historical texts. Akali Phula Singh Ji did not agree with much of the maryada that went on, and philosophically clashed against the Gianis and the caretakers of that time. Things got even worse after the fall of the Raj. Amrit Sanchars were almost non-existent, Sikhs families started to follow Hindu rituals and worship HIndu deities. Thanks to the original Nirankaris and the original Kukas some initial traditions like vanished Anand (Karj) maryada, and not bowing to idols were restored. This was a sad time for our institutions also, many corrupt Udasee/Nirmala Gianis openly began to consume liquor and participate in fortification inside the Gurdwaras - idols of Hindu deities, pictures of Durga/Kali were installed at major historic Gurdwaras. Women were being kidnapped and raped at Sri Darbar Sahib's parikarma, TarnTaran Sahib, and Nankana Sahib - it was no longer safe for anyone to even visit these Gurdwaras. Thankfully the new organizations emerged during the Singh Sabha movement such as the Khalsa Diwans, Panch Khalsa Diwans, Gargajj Akali and others, who launched countless morchas and agitations and sacrificed immensely to free our Gurdwara from the evil mahants. Oddly, many Nirmalays, Udaasees, and Nihangs sided with the corrupt mahants and thus lost their veneration in the Panth. Naturally, newer organizations emerged to fill this void. Most modern samperdais/deras/dals are really a byproduct of Nirmalay-Singh Sabha associated Sants some of whom played a vital part in the Singh Sabha Lehar and or the Gurdwara Sudhar Lehar. Never the less, they still carried on many Nirmala oriented traditions such as giving Amrit in separate Battas or making Amrit with a Kirpan for women and for lower castes, etc. This and other practices such as banning Karah parshad to lower casters was also practiced at Sri Akal Takht Sahib until the Singh Sabha and the Khalsa Diwan groups brought an end to this practice. Oddly this discrimination during Amrit Sanchar continued in many samperdais and dera well into the 1970's. I believe Tarnal Dal discontinued it in the 1970's, and by the Mehta Taksal when Sant Jarnail Singh Ji's took over. Even though Sikhs claim be the religion of equality, hidden forms of discrimination still exists against women in many organizations and institutions of the Panth - even at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar Sahib. No modern Sikh organization, except the Khalsa Panth itself, can claim lineage Guru Sahib or claim to be following the *ORIGINAL MARYADA*. Those who claim this are ignorant of their own history. Those who claim this should be asked where was their *PRINSTINE MARYADA* during Ranjit Singh's time and the dark period of 100 years afterwards? They will have no real answer.
  19. N30S1NGH Ji, you stated that issues like mool-mantar, ragmala, etc started just 100 years - as if everyone before thought alike. This is a fairy tale my brother. Can you provide any proof of the above statements? There is plenty of proof to the contrary - in fact many 19th century Udasees and Nirmalas considered moolmantar up to "Gurparsad" and also did not recite Ragmala. As for moolmantar, please see "Fareedkoti Tikka" which espouses the philosophy of Nirmala/Udaasee enfluenced samperdais and deras. The Fareedkoti Tikka clearly states that moolmantar is up to "Gurparsad", and there literally dozens and dozens original signatures by our Guru Sahibans with this version of the moolmantar. Are we going to blame our Gurus for shortening moolmantar now? For Ragmala, please study the views of Giani Chanda Singh (Bhai Mani Singh Taksal), Sadhu Govind Singh (Nirmala-Udasee Scholar), Mahan Kavi Santokh Singh (Nirmala Scholar), Giani Gian Singh (Nirmala Scholar), and Udasi Harnam Das (Akali Nihang Nurang Singh), Sant Baba Attar Singh Ji and Sant Teja Singh Ji of Mastuana as they all considered Ragmala extraneous and completed bhog on Mundavani. Regardless of their views, they still had mutual respect and never tainted each other as we do nowadays because we don't agree on the same "maryada". I have no intentions to debate these topics, but seriously, I think our nation is now mature enough that they deserve to know the facts that these issues were not created by the British, or the RSS, but have existed for centuries. The same is true about our daily minimum Nitnem, and the kakkars which were originally only referred simply as "tre-mudra." There have been Nirmalas, Udasees, and Nihangs that have recited moolmantar up to "Gurparsad" and there have been others who recited up to "Hosee Bhee Sach", and the same for Ragmala. I think its about time we stop dividing the Panth by promoting such myths. The Panth is NOT black and white, it has never been that way. Let's stop characterizing it as such.
  20. Question for Admins: Why are posts against Niddar Nang allowed without a question - is there a double standard here?
  21. http://www.panthic.org/articles/5477 PANTHIC.ORG | Published on November 24, 2012 Sikh Vehicles Torched by Sirsa Cultists SIRSA, HARYANA (KP) - Followers of the Sacha Sauda Cult attacked unarmed Sikhs in Sirsa, and seriously injured a Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) representative and his associates and continued the rampage by torching several Sikh owned cars and motorcycles. A curfew was imposed by the authorities after the violent clash which seriously injured SGPC member Sant Gurmeet Singh Trilokiwala and others who were returning from a local Gurdwara after a meeting. Sant Trilokiwala was reported to be in critical condition and being treated at a local hospital. Tensions have been simmering in Sirsa since November 19th when Jasvir Singh and several other Sikhs were attacked and injured by the dera cultists at a nearby town of Jiwan Nagar. Local Sikhs had called for a protest march over the attacks but cancelled it after assurance from authorities that action would be taken against the cultists guilty of the attacks. PRE-PLANNED AMBUSH After cancelling the protest, the Sikh community members had peacefully assembled at a nearby Gurdwara Sahib on Saturday, and were returning to their homes when they were viciously attacked by a mob of Dera cultists numbering into the thousands. It is learned that the cultists had intentionally setup a ‘naam-charcha’ program in order to ambush the Sikhs returning from the Gurdwara Sahib. Dozens of Sikhs were injured in this second attack, and several vehicles and motorcycles belonging to the Sikhs were torched and destroyed by the rampaging cultists. Motorcycles belonging to Sikhs Torched by Cultists Upon hearing about the attack by the cultists, concerned Sikh community members from nearby areas attempted to assemble at site of the clash, but many were prevented from reaching the venue by the local authorities Fifteen paramilitary units have been called in by the district administration to control the situation, but mobs of “premi” cultists still remained on the streets ready for further confrontation with the Sikhs. Clashes between the Sikhs and the cultists are now a routine occurrence in Haryana and southern Punjab, and the vigilante security force of Sauda cultist Gurmeet Ram Rahim continuously harass and attack Sikhs who happen to be on route during the passing of the cult leader’s motorcade. In the past the local police authorities have turned a blind eye against such attacks, and have taken no action again the perpetrators or the dera head who is directly responsible for the cold blooded murders of several others Sikhs including Bhai Harmander Singh, Bhai Balkar Singh and Kanwaljit Singh Ji. 22. This meeting had nothing to do with Raagmala. Amazing how we are rewriting history without putting forth any evidence or facts. Learn to focus on the positive instead of continually bringing up your prejudices.
  23. Buv_Singh Ji, Can you kindly post the reference to the actual text from Mukat Marag. Thanks.
  24. Buv_Singh Ji, Kindly provide the **historic** references that detail what you provided in the your post in regards to this type of Akhand Paath Sahib. Dhanvaad Jee.
