  1. Hmm What i feel incomplete about Sikhism is the belief in the god. Saying god is almighty and such. I am not letting my ego come in the way and say i am better than god in any way shape or form. I want to feel the god, i have somehow not felt this supreme being yet. I do meditate and i am in a blissful state when i do. I love the feeling and love all the teaching both Buddhism and Sikhism has. But i haven't felt that god yet.
  2. TejiKaur sure i would love to have people who think alike do you have MSn/Aim or facebook?
  3. i am 15 year SIkh boy. So i am still one of those fools who runs after materialistic life and all. But i want to change i want to be on the real SIkhi path now the place where i live in which is Hicksville, New York. There are many Punjabi Sikhs. Its so hard to see any real Sikh around I am pretty sure more then 90% of the Sikhs here just claim to be a Sikh and do it for a formality. I am also like that But i want to change that in me, But its very discouraging i see no one around me that is willing to help me or is on the same path as me. I also get worried because i see these Sikh girls in my school who are not really religious at all. They all want a white boyfriend or something. It makes me think if i do join the Sikhi path it will be very hard to find a girl that way, That also brings me down. Its just very discouraging and sometimes i get upset over it. I really dont know what to do at this point. I would love to get some help. Sikh sangat has always helped me through these times Thank you for that
  4. So tell me. how old are you? are you happy with your life?
  5. whoops sorry i put it in a bad wording. i meant you have to get rid of kaam and krodh. and scientists have proved sex is good for you. it reduces stress boosts immunity improves cardiovascular health and more.
  6. Okay so since in SIkhi, you have to get rid of Kaam and Krodh. Since you give up so much stuff. how do you stay happy? My parents have taken amrit Rehat and they are a bad example to me. There always cocky, most of the time mad at me. Always have headaches. There both 40. They do paath and for the time they do paath they are the least annoying at that time. All they do is go to work come home and sleep and repeat. They have no friends They dont go to any parties or anything fun. the only place they go is Gurdwara, This is really effecting me badly like making me feel socially awkward and makes me feel like you give up too much in sikhi. So i was wandering all of you guys who are very religous and have taken amrit. Are you guys happy with your life? Because you have to give up all of the pleasurable things in your life, Then how do you still live happily?
  7. wow that was fast and thanks. So which way would be the best for me to understand it. Should i read all of it? which can take me upto couple of months or are there any specific pages that i should read
  8. Is there a website that has the whole guru granth sahib in English. I am very bored when i come from school so reading it woudnt hurt. Is there one on the internet i can read in english?
  9. okay. and its never too late to take rehat and get back to your path to god right?
  10. hmm but back to my question. Even though those people are great people in generel have great karma, have helped a lot of people and such. They still dont go to waheguru after death?
  11. ooh my stupidity sorry i didn't even know this...wow how lost was i
  12. So we have to take amrit in order to go to waheguru/god?
  13. Wow thanks that was a such a touching sakhi. But yea your right. its easier if we keep our hair so we dont fall in life traps. I will definitely have to show those who are leading the wrong way. Thanks a lot for this
  14. So i wanted to ask you guys this. I have many relatives and many friends, that are great people. But they have cut their facial hair is not cut completely but partially cut but they do have hair on there head and wear a turban. Although i will admit some of them aren't completely religious at all. But some are great people like they follow all the paths for sikhi.like they are vegetarian, do path frequently, Never tried to hurt anyone, always protect people and great people overall. So my question is: Even though they have cut some of there facial hair but are great people. Will they go to waheguru/god when they die? or it all depends if you keep your hair or not? P.S i am just a teenager with curiositys Sorry this might be a little immature of a thread on this type of forum.
  15. Actually i was going to tell him some of the Sakhi's and wanted to tell him he cant get on the right path. But The convo didnt get that far. if i get in kind of Convo again i will surely tell him
  16. Hi, Before i start you may know me for being very unloyal to sikhi but now i am back on my path with Wahegurus help, My Parents and your guys. So today in my school. my Friend who claims himself a sikh but he has a haircut, has a ear piercing and thinks doing drugs are fine in sikhi. He asked me one day if i was ever going to cut my hair. I asked him "Why did you cut it". He says that :We are allowed to cut our hair in sikhism" I Chuckled a bit because of his ignorance. So i got in a argument with him and i told him He isnt a Sikh, Your a disgrace because if you think cutting hair, doing drugs are okay in sikhi. He doesnt look like an indian He looks more like a black kid rather then a indian. He even says that he does weed which i didn't believe a fourteen year old doing weed. His last Name isnt even Singh but a Cast. But in the end of the argument he was denying the fact he shouldn't be considered Sikh. SO he got mad and Left the room to go to bathroom. Even though i probably lost him as friend which i dont mind since i wouldn't want those types of friends. But SIkh Sangat i am asking you guys did i do wrong by arguing about that? Becasue it really irritated me that he asked me multiple times if i was ever going to cut my hair and was surprised that i have never done any type of drug such as weed.
  17. WOW that was very sad and disturbing and notice how everybody is muslim. Ugh these kinds of storys really anger me!
  18. Hi guys i have a question. So i have come to known you cant date/marry non sikh people? is this true? and if it is why not? i mean shouldn't love come from within inside and does it really matter if the person you love is not sikh. I mean you can follow Sikhism with the person you love and maybe even try to teach them it. But yea shouldn't love come from inside? Sorry guys i am just a 14 year old with my curiosity's ... Please Answer Thanx
  19. yea thats what i was thinking about too. There should reall be khalistan
  20. So Today is independence day and i am in NY there is a parade every year. And i was watching the parade. Well what i noticed was there was only some sikhs and only about 2 vehicles that showed gurus and our sikhi heroes like bhagat singh. While there were many hindus and others. I mean Sikhs gave uncountable sacrifices for the independence that india has now. It feels like hindus dont accept us or something. DO you think this is right? I mean if it wasnt for Sikhs India wouldn't have had this freedom. What do you think?
  21. Gupt kuri and amarjit kuri and everybody else thanx for the help. Sorry for my stupidity i was the wrong for thinking of cutting facial hair. but the reason why i wanted to cut my hair was because of girls... They dont find it attractive at all and you can never get the girl that is beautiful or in your standard with hair. even girls that are sikhs say they dont want a sikh guy with hair and its surprising how non sikh girls are more intreste in sikh guys then sikh girls. so yea that just makes me feel like i will never get with a girl since there are very few sardarnias
  22. Well yes we have a turban and that gives us identity and also even if we cut our hair god will still love us and give us the same he gives others. in my opinion if a person is good like helps other, does gurbani, never hurts anyone, no drugs or addiction for it. he will surely be loved by god. but it isnt like he wont love us if we cut our hair. if a bad person does drugs, hurts other, but has a turban. what will make god love him? just because he has a turban doesnt mean god will love him and he will go to Guru ji or heaven. sorry for grammar mistakes but i just had to get that off my chest
  23. I am 15 year old. And By Basis do you mean the reason why we have hair? I am pretty sure to keep our identity, So that we dont get mixed up. But doesnt the pagg and head hair give us identity.
  24. Yes but i think i have too much confidence i thats one of the reason i have been rejected by so many girls. so i dont think that is a problem. but i was thinking just a little bit woudnt hurt.
