  1. Media is obviously going to sensationalise and exaggerate any situation to get the public interested and sell their newspapers, etc. They did the same thing with the bezthi bhatti woman affair. Christianity is a joke thanks lilly liberal christians not standing up for their faith in the UK. If they were militantly proactive in defence of their faith (like our community) then athiests in the media trying to make fun of christianity would think twice before disrespecting it. But we should be proud that we wont take disrespect of our religion laying down especially by those who pretend to be Sikhs yet float common sense and basic tenets of sikhi of not serving meat and alcohol on Gurdwara premises yet trying passing off as a legitimate Sikh place of worship.
  2. The questions should be now if the American government believes that Indian congress party has this haterd against Sikhs and took part in state terrorism and genocide against Sikhs why isnt this party banned under anti-terrorist organisation legislation. This would mean any members of that party would have to renounce their membership if they were to travel to the USA or other western nations if motion is passed to outlaw that party by European Union.
  3. JALANDHAR: The US was convinced of the Congress government's hand in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and termed it as "opportunism" and "hatred" of the government against Sikhs. The US also believed that the BJP leadership didn't have the courage to ask chief minister Narendra Modi to step down (following the 2002 Gujarat riots) even after PM Manmohan Singh apologised to the Sikhs after the filing of the Nanavati Commission report. A WikiLeaks expose — that revealed a cable sent from the US Embassy in August 2005 soon after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's apology to Sikhs following the Nanavati Commission report — said, "The PM's singular act of political courage stands in exquisite contrast to the opportunism and hatred directed by senior GoI officials against Sikhs in 1984." WikiLeaks released this cable on April 22 this year. It said PM Manmohan Singh's apology to Sikhs was "for the government's involvement in the 1984 riots", praised him for forcing the resignation of a minister with long ties to the Gandhi family and indicated that Sikhs died due to pogroms directed by Congress office-bearers. The US believed that the BJP leadership didn't have the power to ask Modi to step down following the 2002 Gujarat riots even after Singh apologised for the riots and acted against Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler following the report. The cable, signed by "Blake" (Robert O Blake, deputy chief of mission at US embassy between 2003 and 2006), raised doubts over Modi's political career in the section marked "Should Modi Be Worried?" but goes on to say "BJP is in such disarray that the central decision makers don't have the power to force Modi to step down, and therefore he will remain at the helm of Gujarat". "The swift action of the Congress leadership in sacrificing Tytler and Sajjan Kumar has raised questions about the fate of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi if a similar commission investigating the 2002 Gujarat riots finds his government at fault," the cable said. While the cable praises Singh, calling his act a sign of "political courage", "momentous" and "almost Gandhian", it exposes the weakness within BJP. "The speed with which Congress forced two of the party's senior leaders to step down and released an apology to the nation, pre-empted BJP and Left party criticism, leaving the Opposition with little ammunition with which to attack the UPA," the cable said. "The Press quoted a senior BJP MP as saying, the government has not only blunted the edge of our campaign, it has put a lid on it," the cable said. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/US-saw-Cong-hand-in-anti-Sikh-riots-reveal-Wiki-leaks/articleshow/8174019.cms
  4. I hope they got working CCTV installed in key places. It is concerning that we dont have better security for our places of worship. There have been a number of incidents over the years where intruders have caused alot of harm and it seems nothing was done to prevent such cases arising again. A national body needs to be formed to monitor these incidents
  5. I suggest this thread is closed unless solid proof can be brought forth of these so called allegations from a newbie 1 post member.
  6. Can we have a poll on this?I'm leaning towards a NO vote because only 3 other nations in the world use AV and I dont want extremist fringe parties getting a say in government.
  7. An online campaign should be formed to vigorously defend our shaheeds and national religious hero's who fought for the freedom for the Sikhs. Those who attack them should be exposed meaning their biased reputation would be left bare for all to see. Funny how Kim Bolan has zero to say about George Washington the founding father and freedom fighter of America who would be termed as a terrorist and secessionist to the crown of england today. Nor this Kim Bolan has zero to say about the various Indian congress terrorists who conducted genocide against innocent Indian Sikh civilians in 1984 onwards. Nor she has anything to say about the various theories out there that brought down air India plane in 1985 when in a court of law the two so called Sikh separatists who were suspected of taking out the plane were found NOT guilty. There are 6 theories out there important to note. The most credible is RAW Indian terrorist agents inclusion with morally bankrupt Canadian govt of the time carrying out that outrageous murderous act for their own vested economic interests (flow of oil and trade) and to put a stop to mass support for Khalistan movement after operation blue star.
  8. Disgusting fools, these lot are enemies of Sikhism and should never be allowed in a Gurdwara let alone run one if thats what their beef is. We should hold a name and shame database of all those who commit acts of aggression/violence in a Gurdwara. So that a clear message is sent out this type of outrageous behaviour will not be tolerated by the community.
  9. what baffles me is these low-level daft next level pakhandi baba get taken out yet those who killed Sikhs in 1984 are still alive and laughing at their victims. What is going on? internal feud? money/land/power motives? All i see whats going on in Punjabi politics is petty fights and killings yet those who committed serious crimes against humanity by UN standards are walking around freely in India. If you want to take out an enemy of Sikhism the prime target should always be those who committed terrorism against the Sikhs (ie Sajjan kumar and the rest of the congressi mob not forgetting any remaining indian army officials who dared to stormed darbar sahib 1984, 1987). These are criminal terrorists who desecrated our holiest of shrines murdered countless innocents.....I dont think I would be wrong to suggest majority of 30 million strong Sikh community wants to see them lot sent to hell and would be praise those brave enough to take then out.
  10. I think in future these topics should be closed. Girls run of with who they want to because they are not religious. You will find many a west born pakistani muslim girl married to a west born Sikh guy and having their kids. I personally know a few, you will find non-religious sikh by name punjabi girls run off with all sorts of men. They dont go off because of the guys religion, they go for the guy because of his looks or his personality. More often than not non-religious sikh by name girls these days are very image conscious they will want to go out with a guy who has a certain look or hairstyle. If you wear a turban and have facial hair chances are you will come across as a religious guy and that is what you are keeping the turban for to be religious if you want to mess around with girls, cut your hair and do what you want to do but don't keep a turban and start maligning the image of Sikhs by overtly chasing chicks, going clubs, smoking, drinking, etc. What we should be concentrating on is raising standard of Sikh males and females who are firm in their faith and will not stray given how much temptation there is out there to do so. Females of all faiths are preyed upon day in day out by all kinds of men so they have got it harder to shake off unwarranted attention but if females within our community are taught at early age to look out for signs of grooming by non-sikh men for them to stray then they are better aware of whats going on and the motives of these guys. Many girls now are not marriage material because of having relations outside the faith, so have become tainted goods... this is one of the consequences they should know comes with eloping with non-sikhs good luck to them if that is the choice they made but it was entirely their choice and so must bare the consequences. Just educate your sisters at early age about their responsibilities to the family, faith and community the rest leave it in the hands of Waheguru.
  11. I think we need to take a pinch of salt it wasn't as offensive as some things out there that deliberately target the Sikh religion, we shouldn't be hyper sensitive and react to these kinda remarks. Harbhajan Singh doesnt do any favors to the Sikh community with his firey temper and reactionary character, if malicious people know how to wind you up they will play on it to distract you and make you lose your focus and game.
  12. The prime suspects for anti-sikh videos on youtube and other sites have been identified as non-sikh ravidassiya's / Buddhist chamar's.Anyone willing to tackle the online haters, please private message me.
  13. Turban campaign are an absolute joke they should be excommunicated themselves for trying to bring the British Sikh community into disrupt and maligning the turban's image using it for their propaganda purposes. Gurmeet doesn't represent the Sikhs and he is a big mouth <banned word filter activated>, but what these turban campaign lot are doing is far worse. I say we expose those behind turban campaign and have them put forward for excommunication if they want to go down this road. Sikhs should be staying neutral in this issue of Nationalist Racists /EDL Vs UAF / islamo-fascists. Back in the 80s the white nationalists were giving all immigrant communities including Sikhs are hard time. Then in the 90s the Islamo fascists started to give non-muslim communities across UK a hard time. So Sikhs should be careful, by being political and historically aware of who have and want to bring harm on our people.
  14. ok the majority of the anti-sikh material videos and accounts on youtube and posts on topix can be traced to Hindu Punjabi "ravidassiya's" and the Hindu guys at hindu-sikh unity forum. I have managed to see the posts they put up in that forum and the corresponding video's that were uploading hating on Sikhs, sant bhindranwale and other personalities. They even talked about portraying video's of Guru Sahib's instead of sant bhindranwale but thought better not worried Sikhs might retaliate with pictures of their deities in mocking video's.For many years now they have been deceptively trying to pit muslim against sikh on online forums and websites while they attack both and increase the animosity between the two communities. Not saying there aren't muslims out there who need dealing with too the main perpetrators for majority of the filth directed at Sikhs seems to be coming from the above mentioned group. We can take the peace approach first, reason with them to remove their youtube videos and accounts. Failure to do so we take steps to remove those videos and accounts by flagging and other methods and if that fails we retaliate like for like until they come to their senses and see we are not a soft touch.
  15. ok i think a blog would be good idea, first list what religion/ideology you think they are, then their account user name and the material they have uploaded. Together we can tackle and clean up the vile things they are spreading.
  16. I've noticed there are sly people on sites like youtube and topix that are pretending to be pakistani muslims to abuse Sikhs. And vice versa you get Muslims pretending to be Hindu's. We should collectively draw up a list of anti-sikh material that needs tackling on the net and expose the users and their agenda's.
  17. My assessment of it is because no matter how bad Indian government is, India still has more Sikhs within the land than Pakistan. And Pakistani Muslims are ultra nationalistic they tend to hate non-muslims and non-pakistani's. So most Sikhs side with the devil they know best (ie India). When Pakistan wins or have their independence day they always try to attack Sikhs and target majority Sikh area's for their celebrations in deliberate act of provocations so they themselves have alienated Sikhs from being neutral. Their are also some UK Indian and bengali muslims who side with Pakistani's to hate on non-muslims also. Therefore you can not blame some or most Sikhs for celebrating when Pakistan is defeated or when India wins. so its upon Muslims to get wise stop hating on Sikhs and associating them with India or going to Sikh area's and festivals/mela's to looking for trouble before you will get most Sikhs ending their support for India in these kind of events.
  18. Rabbi opposes free Sikh school in Slough A Sikh secondary school is planned for Slough Continue reading the main story Related Stories More get first choice of school Parents take over primary school New school needed says town's MP A Maidenhead rabbi has opposed plans for a free school in Slough. The Slough Sikh Education Trust hopes to set up a free school with a Sikh ethos as a solution to the number of oversubscribed schools in the town. Rabbi Jonathan Romain has said he feared the Sikh community would become segregated. However, the Slough Sikh Education Trust has said it hopes to attract 50% of its pupils from non-Sikh backgrounds. 'Variety of backgrounds' Mr Romain said he opposed what he called "the proliferation of faith schools". "Effectively they segregate children. "At the moment the Sikh community is very integrated at school, Sikh children mix with Jewish and Christian children," he said. The trust, which is still looking for a site on which to build its new school, said it hoped to provide a "rigorous academic education of the standard associated with selective schools or high-performing faith schools". Hardip Sohal, chair of governors at Khalsa Primary School, which is already run by the Sikh Education Trust, said: "We aspire to provide opportunities for children, both Sikh and non-Sikh, from a variety of backgrounds and not just those who can afford to go private, or attend through selective entry." Mr Sohal said the school could specialise in horse-riding and archery and promote the Sikh faith, with compulsory lessons in Panjabi, Sikh Studies and Gurbani (Sikh Scriptures). There will be 120 places available in each year group and the organisation hopes to start to admit pupils in Years 7, 8 and 9 in 2012. Free schools are part of the government's reforms to education in England, and allow groups of local parents, teachers or charities to establish their own schools. The government says not enough children get into their first choice of secondary school, and free schools will give parents greater choice. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-12758800 ============================= I would like to know what is the real motives of this Rabbi's opposing the building of a school that will cater for Sikh children when the Jews (who form a less population than Sikhs) have 29+ primary schools in the united kingdom alone not counting the secondary school. It seems like a clear sign of of this guys discrimination and prejudice to those not of his Jewish /faith, having equal opportunity for their kids.
  19. A very dangerous situation developing not only for japan but east asia and the American coast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY9mdHhCd7k
  20. Recession probably, I'd help out for free if I lived locally. It's a matter of pride and keeping alive the historical legacy to have such places in far off lands that our Guru Ji influenced.
  21. Shillong: Even as the mystery over the Air India Kanishka bombing continues, a report released on Wednesday by a human rights activist in Meghalaya suggested that the plane could have been the victim of a 'Star Wars' experiment by the US. "The plane (Kanishka) could have been the victim of the Strategic Defence Initiative or the so called 'Star Wars' experiment," said Michael N. Syiem in his report titled 'The Sixth Possibility'. The laser-based Star Wars technology was launched in 1983 by the Ronald Reagan administration with the aim of protecting the US from missile attacks by erecting an impenetrable defensive missile shield across the entire North American continent. It was quietly shelved after the Kanishka explosion in 1985. Kanishka, the Air India flight 182 operating on the Montreal-London-Delhi-Bombay route, was blown up by a bomb at an altitude of 31,000 feet June 23, 1985, killing all 329 people on board. In his 29 page report, Syiem said that on June 23, 1985, the Americans, in their second attempt, succeeded in testing their functional accuracy of the Star War technology, when Kanishka exploded mid-air into the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Ireland. The US space agency NASA had launched the 18th flight of the space shuttle 'Discovery' on June 17, 1985 with the mission to determine whether a laser beam could track the speeding missile warhead and explode it in mid-air before it could reach its target. "There were five theories regarding the cause of the Kanishka disaster which includes: mechanical failure, mid-air collision after debris of a Soviet space rocket hit the plane, insurance fraud as per the angle of Canadian police, the alleged sabotage of Indian intelligence agencies and the bomb explosion carried out purportedly by Sikh terrorists, but none of these have been proven till date," he said. "The Indian government can also start their investigations on the role of the US with regards to the launching of the laser beams on that fateful morning when the Kanishka exploded in mid-air," Syiem told journalists. To strengthen his theory, Syiem narrated the 'Tuskegee Syphilis experiment' carried out by the US on innocent human beings in the name of experiments. The then American president Bill Clinton had formally apologised on May 16, 1997 for the experiment. The infamous experiment, that ran for 40 years (1932-1972) was conducted by the US Public Health Service on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease. These men from Tuskegee in Alabama were never told what disease they were suffering from or of its seriousness. Syiem claimed that his book can act as a reference on the Kanishka incident from 1985 till date, which can be of immense use to historians and investigators to find out the truth behind the disaster. "This sixth possibility could be just another science fiction story and could be described as absurd and far fetched. But, when in history have science and its inventions ever stopped to surprise and keep the common man in constant awe, whether it is the first motor car, the first airplane, the first atomic bomb, or the first Star Wars laser technology," Syiem asked. Syiem said that he will send the copy of his report to the Canadian embassy in India as the Canadian authorities in 1995 had announced $730,000 for the effort to solve the Air India bombing that killed all on board Source: http://www.deccanchronicle.com/national/sixth-kanishka-theory-138
  22. If is a Sikh is genuine about seeking salvation and walking the path of the Guru's then he/she has to reject castism even if it goes against his/her family. That is a small price to pay for what our forefathers went through in history. Castism is what alienates and divides humanity rather than seeing them part of the same one universal soul. Both ravidassia chamar and jatts are guilty of not letting go of their castes. The chamars idol worship (the arti they perform) statue's and pictures of Bhagat ravi das ji and other Hindu rituals against Sikhi the Jatts hold onto the drinking culture and caste system of the Hindu's. Both and others have to reject the practises that bring their Sikhi into disrupt if they want to claim they are Sikhs otherwise good luck to them if they want to follow Jattism or Ravdissism but i suspect their will be alot of conflict in punjab. india and aboard between the two..... only Sikhism can save them from conflicts.
