  1. This teeka promotes vaishnav over gurmat. Its metaphors are too much on vishnu and hari-sant bhagti. No teeka is perfect but i doubt anyone can translate agam agadh agochar nirankar into words.

Mob Sought To Burn Alive Two Christian Families in Batala Church: Report BATALA, The Punjab police are hiding the fact that hoodlums of rightwing Hindu groups in Batala tried to burn five Christians alive. According to a report released March 2 by a fact-finding team, which visited Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts, including villages deep in the rural hinterland from February 22-25, and Chandigarh, the Christians were from two families who live in the Church of North India’s (CNI) historic Church of the Epiphany compound built in 1865. The team included All India Christian Council (AICC) secretary general John Dayal, AICC Delhi regional secretary Rev. Madhu Chandra, Human Rights Law Network lawyer M. Adeeb and AICC assistant Marang Hansda. Batala is a small business town in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. On February 20, the CNI church was set on fire and all its furniture burnt. Attempts were made to destroy a nearby Salvation Army church, raised in 1958, where the pastor was seriously injured. “We pleaded with the police to help, but they did not,” said Pastor Maj. Gurnam Singh. Even as the larger group of attackers focused on burning the CNI church, a group of men armed with sticks and rods came to the CNI deacon’s house. The deacon, Victor Gill, and his wife Parveen, hid themselves under the bed. The assailants damaged the doors, tried to enter the room forcibly, and told the couple they would be burnt alive if they did not come out, the report finds. Meanwhile, at a second CNI house, the group overturned a scooter, took out petrol and doused teacher Christopher Morris and his daughter Daisy with the fuel while the mother, Usha, cringed in their home. They tried to set the two on fire, but the matchbox had also been soaked in the petrol and despite three attempts to strike a match, the matchsticks would not ignite saving the family from being burnt alive. The police were watching. The fire brigade came later but was blocked by a mob for quite some time. Police Bias: No police report has been filed on the attempted murders even as the top police and administrative officers enforced a one-sided “peace accord” on the local Christian leadership. Christians were instructed not to press for charges immediately so that a number of Christian youths who were arrested--together with a few Hindu men--could be released. The strategy of the assailants was eerily reminiscent of what was practised and perfected against churches in Orissa in 2008. Police forcibly cleaned up the Church of the Epiphany. They removed burnt furniture and made the presbyter whitewash the walls to remove traces of fuel oil used in the blaze. This was done before a formal inquiry could be conducted by the government. Violence background: The Christians, all of them of Dalit origin, were trying to enforce a closure or “bandh” in Batala markets to protest a blasphemous picture of Jesus Christ holding a can of beer in one hand a lit cigarette in another which appeared on roadside banners to celebrate the Hindu ‘Ram Nauvmi’ festival. The banners were sponsored by a coalition of local political, media and business leaders, together with the trading community which is almost entirely Hindu. The Sangh Parivar reacted to the Christian protest by mobilising shopkeepers and youth in attacks that left many injured, two churches damaged, and clergy traumatised. The fact-finding team noted that local shopkeepers routinely enforce closures e.g. a bandh during the last week of February to protest the execution of two Sikhs by the Taliban in Pakistan. Police reaction: The police force was outnumbered and looked on during the violence. Despite intelligence reports of the Christian anger and the Hindutva plans to counterattack, the sub-divisional magistrate of Batala, Rahul Chaba, PCS, said he could not enforce a quick curfew until late February 20 because most of the police force were sent to the Pakistani border nearby where Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram inaugurated a defence outpost. By the time the police returned and a curfew was imposed, violence had already occurred. The curfew was relaxed February 22. Results of violence: On February 21, protest rallies were held across the western districts of Punjab and in Chandigarh against the desecration of the churches. There were reports of police who broke up protest meetings in villages with lathi charges and indiscriminate arrests. At present, there are no Christians or Hindus in police custody barring the printer and publisher of the banners. On February 23, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal assured the AICC’s John Dayal, a member of the National Integration Council, that he viewed the matter seriously and has ordered officials to unravel the “entire conspiracy”. Dayal demanded a judicial enquiry into the incidents during the meeting. Punjab’s Christian population is around 300,000, about 1.2% of the state population, mostly concentrated in Amritsar and villages in west Punjab. The government is Akali-BJP coalition elected in February 2007.

There is no tradition for the preparation for the Langar here but the devotees whether a few hundred or few thousands or a few lakhs, never go back without food. The sacred sound of Gurbani, perpetually emanating from the Sachkhand hall instill an aura of divine purity. Here lives still, one of the most venerable livings saints of the time, Baba Sadhu Singh ji who has served both the holy saints as their Mukh Sewadar. His frails lips over ninety six year old still keep churning out the blessings of holiest elixir "Wahe Guru", every moment of the day, every moment of the night, for every devotee coming to him. Baba Sadhu Singh ji has got blessings of Baba Nand Singh Ji and Baba Ishar Singh Ji in his life. That was the great time when he was entrusted the spiritual responsibility and headship of Sri Nanaksar Samprada. Since then Baba Sadhu Singh ji has devoted all his life for the flourishing of Sri Nanaksar. Baba Sadhu Singh ji has a divine personality whose aim is to carry the spritual glory of Nanaksar to its heights. Even at this stage when he is going to complete one century of his life, he is still active to serve Sri Nanaksar. He is such a kind of personality that people feel attracted to sit near him. Today Sri Nanaksar is known all over the world for its spiritual uniqueness. Sri Nanaksar is a center of spreading thoughts of “Gurbani”. There is “ Shri Baba Nand Singh Ishar Singh ji Charitable Hospital” at Sri Nanaksar Kaleran. Baba Sadhu Singh Ji has done all this keeping in view the welfare of humanity. The hospital has a multi story building giving facility for operation and other treatments. Patients become perfectly all right with the blessings of God. “Amrit Parchar Ceremony” is held from time to time. Baba Sadhu Singh Ji gives updesh. He advises the people to do simran and sewa because these are the two wings of devotee’s life. In the history of Sri Nanaksar the continuous service being done by Baba Sadhu Singh Ji has increased the popularity of Sri Nanaksar. Baba Lakha Singh Ji stands closest associate to Baba Sadhu Singh Ji. He always remains in the active service of Baba Sadhu Singh Ji. Baba Lakha Singh Ji is a untired spiritual personality dedicated to carry out charitable works for the welfare of humanity. He never lets any chance to go for doing sewa of sangat. He possesses firm determination and an insight for the completion of various projects being done by Baba Nand Singh Baba Ishar Singh Ji Charitable Trust, being a chairman of the same Trust. Some times there comes worldly problems but because of politeness and honesty every work is completed with success. There is no time for rest in his life. Baba Lakha Singh Ji has special interest for the publication of religious literature. He has published in 4 volumes the holy lectures of Baba Ishar Singh ji given on different times at different places. The audio recording of those times has been given the shape of written words by late Col. Wakil Singh. Baba Lakha Singh got printed these 4 volumes under the title Amuleek Bachan Part –I,II,III,IV. The second edition of these 4 volumes is being released shortly. Chetan Singh (Deputy Director Punjab Languages Department) is busy for proof reading & printing of these books. The Vth volume of Amuleek Bacham will be released for the first time on the occasion of Barsee Samagam of Baba Ishhar Singh Ji in October 2005.
  6. The third eye is trikuti chakar - merges into ira, pingla and sukhmana. The power of meditation on mul mantar and gurmantar is that aad, biad, upaad suffering will go. After this is very difficult because the surti can get stuck in nabhi chakra and give headaches, hallucinations and seeing ghosts. If the surti goes into hirda chakar then all ridhi and sidhi will come. Many stop here but Gurbani mentions Naam should be seen in everything and everyone - this is called dasam duar with endless rass. As for the good intention of doing 125,000 recitation will bear fruit with guru's beant kirpa on our bad karams.
  7. The Vedas system is that in Satjug God was called Vasudev or Vishnu. But Gurbani says VAHEGURU was the same in Satjug, Treta, Dwapar, Kaljug- Vasudev, Hari, Gobind, Ram. In Chandi Di Vaar it says - The saintly Satyuga (the age of Truth) passed away and the Treta age of semi-righteousness came. The discord danced over all the heads and Kal and Narad sounded their tabor. Chandi wife of Shiva is also called Maya and has put the world into play. Hence Kaal is also play of the eternal Akaal. Kaljug is a cycle in the Vedas where Vishnu comes again as Kalki and restores righteousness. The conclusion is so obvious from reading Gurbani that VAHEGURU never changed a bit in the ages. Sant Singh Maskeen ji mentioned that a Yuga in Gurmat is a state of the mind (highest is Sachkhand) and it doesn't take millions of years for Satjug to come back. When the mind changes the person is changed. Some sanatanist scholars have mentioned sachkhand as being satjug or a age. But we have seen a 5 year old become an Guru called Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji. Also the Vedas stress Sanyassa at the age of 70 but Sikhism has produced some saints who were celibate all the way through. Conclusion is liberation is only in the Naam in the Nirgun form stressed in Gurbani.
  8. Also the world population was very less and increased to a point of 6 billion. Today one can not go around jungles finding God because of the bad atmosphere (less Devtey and more Deint) . I heard Sant Isher Singh say in Katha that one should meditate privately in a closed-door room and regard that as a jungle instead.
  9. There is nothing wrong in worshipping a stone but if the person turns into a stone and cannot do normal things like eat, then there is no salvation. To be Gurmukh you must eat from Naam and share the same.
  10. Waheguru but do not abuse the mind because it is a reflection of the inner real consciousness and makes the person feel suicidal when over-used. It's like rotating a donkey around for ages and then suddenly pushing it back into the well. Thus Gurbani puts a balance of positive and negative energy out by Simran and Sewa. Meditation should be done mostly alone and if this breaks up then do the company of saints and service is done with all of the body and not just the hands or legs.
  11. The proper way is to not look at a mirror when tieing the parna and the top knot should be at the center of head (dasam dwar) and not on the forehead like alot do in India. It is recommended for Gursikhs to wear black, white, saffron and blue turban - basically saadhki colours.
  12. Guru Granth Sahib has conquered the universe through Har (Waheguru). Dasam Granth has exposed the false Hari for the true Hari and made the saints of Waheguru eternal. Sarbloh Granth has defeated all remaining enemies through Maya and made victory eternal for Khalsa.

  14. I have seen Whites with long hair and beards. But since 9/11 the Turban which is a crown for the Sikhs is being associated with Osama Bin Laden - a Muslim terrorist. I don't see any Whites laughing at the Queen with her crown and saying it's out of date. Since Sikhs are required to keep their uncut hair covered 24/7 they are Raj Yogis in Kaljug as Sant Attar Singh used to say. Muslims and Hindus mostly wear a turban on their wedding day or on a special day like Eid. Woman is not the problem with this - it is purely fashion which will never stop. Shave a bit and shave the whole or just don't shave at all (which requires mental strength).
  15. Arya Samaj (Sanskrit "Noble Society") is a Hindu reform movement founded by Swami Dayananda on 10 April 1875. He was a sannyasi who believed in the infallible authority of the Vedas. Dayananda emphasized the ideals of brahmacharya (chastity). There are approximately 3–4 million followers of Arya Samaj worldwide. Some naive Sikhs are falling into the traps of Hinduism but they have forgot the Arya Samaj types. These Sikhs will end up crying when facing the ultra-Hindu group Arya Samaj, who used derogatory language in reference to Sikh Gurus and their writings. Why don't these fools never learn even from the Narakdharis.
