  1. Update on Sumedh Saini who was appointed the DGP (Director General of Police) by the Punjab Government. The government has also annexed ACRs of all officers who were considered at that time for the post of DGP. Only Saini had all outstanding ACRs, it added. “Saini has unimpeachable integrity, vast experience and outstanding record. As was discussed, the new government desires to give a thrust on priority areas for long term continuity. Following issues were identified: officer should have impeccable integrity, corruption be eradicated and a people friendly police force be raised and an effective anti-drug campaign be run,” stated the government’s reply and noting at the time of his appointment. Outstanding service record put Sumedh Singh Saini in the seat of director general of police (DGP), the Punjab government has submitted in the high court. The Punjab government led by Badal Dal, has also claimed that the legal opinion was sought from the office of Punjab Advocate General, which suggested that there is no bar in appointing Saini as the DGP. “The screening committee considered him fit for promotion to the rank of additional director general of police and then to the post of DGP, Punjab,” reads the reply filed by D S Bains, Principal Secretary (Home). There should be strong opposition to the appointment of Sumedh Saini yet our main religous intstitutions such as Akal Takht and SGPC are silent. This person should be removed from office immediately.   2. It is not right to talk about killing our fellow brothers. Daas does not agree with Sant Samaj joining Badal however all Gursikhs are brothers and sisters despite differences. When we write we should follow principles set out in Gurbani. The current Panthic situation is very dark and ekta is far away. Daas puts all his faith in the true sarkar which is Nirankaar. Sant Samaj need to realise that they have alienated themselves by joining the dusht Badal. If Sant Samaj and other Panthic groups formed a third front independent of corrupt politicians then the Panth will get somewhere. Satguru Mehar Karan!

  4. What is happening behind the scenes? Badal has links with Radha Swami and he also runs SGPC. Are the Jathedars just following orders from a political party? "Sikhs are hereby directed that they should move away from anti-panthic forces which cannot uphold the honor and dignity of the Akal Takht," said Giani Gurbachan Singh while talking to the media. The decision of endorsement has come after a meeting of five Jathedars held on August 15, 2102 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Amritsar. According to information available with Sikh Siyasat the meeting was attended by Akal Takhat Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, Takhat Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Tarlochan Singh, Takhat Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Takhat Patna Sahib Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh and Giani Jagtar Singh Granthi Sri Darbar Sahib as no representative of the Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib came to participate in the meeting. “Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh of Takht Damdama Sahib and Giani Iqbal Singh of Takht Patna Sahib, endorsed Akal Takht’s decision in unequivocal terms and said that they fully supported Giani Gurbachan Singh in what he has done” reports YesPunjab (YP). The matter did not rest here. A strange decision was also taken in light of controversy regarding shifting of Gurdwara Waraich. It was resolved that though no historical gurdwara can be altered or shifted, the non-historical gurdwaras can be altered or shifted with the consent and collective decision and as per the requirements of Sikh Sangat of the area. The Jathedars also came in defence of Giani Gurbachan Singh and said that panthic groups should behave in such a manner that the supremacy of Akal Takht is not challenged. Without naming, but in context of the decision of some panthic groups to ‘boycott’ Akal Takht Jathedar, the four jathedars appealed to Sikh Sangat not to play in the hands of alleged anti-panthic forces. Jathedars have also sought cooperation from the panthic groups and said that they should remain committed to Akal Takht so that glorious panthic traditions were maintained. It is notable here that many Sikh organisations had given a call to ‘boycott’ Giani Gurbachan Singh keeping in view his decision to give a ‘clean chit’ to Dera Radha Soami, Beas on the issue of Gurdwara Waraich. Sikh organizations are of the view that the decision of Giani Gurbachan Singh is taken under political pressure from Badal clan. These organizations include SAD Amritsar, Akali Dal Panch Pardhani, Dal Khalsa, Khalsa Action Committee, Panthic Sewa Lehar and Damdami Taksal Ajnala.

For arths (meanings) of Gurbani daas would highly recommend Prof Sahib Singh ji's steek which is available on srigranth.org and http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/ No one can claim to do perfect arth's of Gurbani. Also as we progress in spirituality we will understand Gurbani more. As well as reading arths from various scholars it also important to increase our avastha (spiritual state) by engaging in Paath, Naam Simran and keeping Rehit, Amritvela. As we go further in spirituality we get more anand and rass from Gurbani and a better understanding. Another teeka which is good but not readily available is by Giani Harbans Singh ji Nirnaikaar, however this not yet available on-line. Also one can listen to Giani's from Sampradayak background on Gurmatveechar such as Giani Gurbachan Singh ji Bhindranwale. Rabb Rakhe
  7. Daas is serious in regards to honouring this brave officer. Is there any way in which we can contact the Akal Takht Jathedar and let him know that the entire Sikh Panth would like him to honour the Lieutenant personally. If the Akal Takht Jathedar did this it would send out a great message worldwide. I'm sure nobody would object to the Jathedar either flying directly to America to offer him siropa or even better call him to Akal Takht and offer him and other officers siropa and other aid infront of the worlds media. Maybe someone could make this suggestion on the various discussion shows on Sikh Channel and they can then pass this on to the Jathedar themselves. It is vital that the leadership our Panth is proactive in these situations and not reactive. Also we must not forget the brave Sikhs who were in the Gurdwara during this massacre who also acted bravely and gave their lives fighting this criminal. The SGPC should also provide support to our Sikh brothers and sisters who were caught up in this tragedy.
  8. Today siropas have been made cheap and awards such as "Panth Rattan" has been awarded to a dusht. However there is one person for sure that the entire Sikh Panth should give full Satkaar (Respect) to. This person bravely arrived on the scene at Wisconsin Gurdwara Sahib and saw a person lying on the floor outside the Gurdwara. This brave American went to help this person and was ambushed by the criminal/coward Wade Michael Page and shot multiple times. Later additional police officers arrived at the scene and saw the injured Lieutenant Brian Murphy. However when this brave Lieutenant saw police the officers instead of asking for medical aid he encouraged officers to go and find the criminal inside the temple. Vaah! This brave police officer along with the other police officers who helped kill this criminal should be presented with a siropa at sri Akal Takht by the Jathedar himself along with financial aid. This will send a message around the world that the Sikh Panth respects courage and service to mankind irrsespective of race or background. A white American killed many innocent people but it was also white American officer who came to help our fellow Sikh brothers and sisters. It is not the skin colour or background of the person we should look at instead we should look at their actions. I bow my head to the bravery of the police officers involved in this tragedy and also to Lieutenant Brian Murphy. I believe Lieutenant Brian Murphy ji is still in hospital. May Akaal Purakh bless him and other injured victims with a speed recovery and chardi kala! Waheguru ji ka khalsa, Waheguru ji ki fateh!

Listen form 0:40 to 0:50 in which Sant Kartar Singh ji states that Gurbani of bhagats was only parvaan after they uttered it in the hazoor of Guru Sahib: According to your logic this would be insulting as well i.e. all the bhagats in Guru Granth Sahib requiring kirpa of Guru Sahib to utter Gurbani. I do not find bhai sahib's or Sant Kartar Singh ji's thought insulting at all. For me Guru Nanak is Satguru and through his kirpa we can reach the highest levels of sprituality. No doubt other dharams can also reach lofty destinations but I have faith in Guru Nanak and dhur ki bani, bania sir bani. Gurbani mentions that Gurbani is "bania sir bani" do you find this insulting also?
  10. Please answer my questions in my post please. For example Muslims do not even believe in karam philosophy or birth rebirth related to our karams. They believe in one life in which they will be judged and then resurrected on the day of judgement to enter either heaven or hell and this is a fundamental concept in Islam. The day of judgement and return of the mahdi along with Isa Masih (hazrat Jesus) is an event that Muslims are awaiting. Please explain how Muslims will enter Sachkhand? Who is their Satguru? Where have they gotten Naam? Muslims believe in Heaven and Hell whereas sri Jap ji sahib describes various khands. With all these major differences how can the Semitic religions and Gursikhs reach the same destination? As for previous bhagats such as bhagat Kabir ji they had immense bhagti and had indeed travelled very far in terms of spirituality. As per bhai sahib they had reached Karam Khand which is just below Sachkhand. Indeed these bhagats where the most spirituality advanced of their time and that is why Guru Sahib met them in person as in Sheikh Farid ji. New evidence is showing that Guru Sahib met these bhagats in person. However will we just deny this new evidence just because it does not fit with a prior school of thought?
  11. Lets take example of Semitic Religion Islam. How can a follower of Islam reach Sackhand? A muslim does not even know about Sachkhand rather they strive their whole lives for Jannah/Heavan/Paradise a place that has many pleasures such as gardens, foods e.t.c. A muslim does not even believe in the basic concepts of Gurmat i.e. reincarnation, karam phiosophy, vaapak Parmeshar e.t.c. A muslim is awaiting the day of resurrection and the coming of the mahdi and the establishment of an Islamic Raaj e.t.c. So please tell me how a muslim can reach Sachkhand when they do not even know or desire sachkhand. They do not believe in birth rebirth cycle and mukhti. The other semitic religions also have simial beliefs day of resurrection, coming of messiah e.t.c. The goals of each religion are different. Rabb Rakhe.
  12. N30 Singh ji, What if someone belivies that Satguru is Guru Nanak Dev ji and that access to Sachkhand is only through kirpa of Guru Nanak Dev ji? Does that make them "protestant". I guess only Samparda school is right and everybody else is wrong? I disagree with Sampradayak school that Sachkhand is avastha, other religions can reach Sackhand, bhagats/avtars can reach Sachkhand wihtout Satguru Nanak, other religions can reach Sachkhand e.t.c. However saying the abova I have huge respect for other Sampardas/Jathebandis and the Gursikhs of these groups. I would never label them as RSS, fanatics, e.t.c. However daas still has the right to question and put forth their own vies on Gurmat. We can disagree but still maintain the pyaar and respect for each other. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪੁ ਰਖਿਓਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਆਖਿ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ॥ (No one has attained Vaheguru without Satguru because Vaheguru has placed himself in Satguru). The above pankti is very straightforward withouth Satguru noone can attain Parmeshar. Who is Satguru according to Gurbani? Satguru is none other than Guru Nanak Dev ji. Just read ang 1390 and how it was Guru Nanak Dev ji that was behind the actions of various avtars of the 4 jugs. This is my understanding of Gurmat and many other chardi kala, naam abhiyaasi Gurmukhs such as bhai sahib bhai Randhir Singh ji. Bhai Vir Singh believed that Guru Nanak was above all other avtars and bhagats and wrote a whole book on this subject. Are they any lesser Gursikhs than those from Nirmaley or other Samparda? Should they be labelled "Protestant? Many bhagats and avtars have attained salvation through Guru Nanam, bhagats like bhagat Ramanand ji gained salvation only after getting Naam from Guru Nanak. Many Gursikhs believe in the supremacy of Guru Nanak Dev ji and they have reached the highest levels of spirituality. We should be able to discuss and maintain respect with each others views without resorting to labelling people. How can it be wrong to believe in the supremacy of Guru Nanak Dev ji? Just read the about the vadiaee of Guru Nanak Dev ji in bhatt Kal ji's bani, shiromini bhagats such as bhagat Kabir ji and bhagat Nam Dev ji are singing the praises of Guru Nanak. My understanding of the vadiaee of Guru Nanak comes from reading Gurbani as well as other Gursikhs such as bhai Vir Singh ji, bhai Randhir Singh ji, Giani Gurbachan Singh, Giani Mohan Singh e.t.c. The majority of Panth is united in that we focus on the nirgun saroop of Guru Nanak. As far as Sargun Saroop, do you mean the actions of Satguru ji? Of course we should not worship the body of Guru Sahibaans i.e. bowing to a picture or idol. Daas understanding is that Guru Sahib wants us to get close to Nirankaar by focusing on the Shabad (Naam). Shabad Guru, Surat Dhun Chela. Our surti should follow the dhuni of Naam. I think we can all agree on this.
  15. As daas understands Guru Nanak is the Guru form of Nirankaar (God). Gurparsad has sihari at the end which gives the meaning of naal - Guru di kirpa naal. So with kirpa of Guru Nanak we can meet Nirankaar. Gurbani cannot be fully comprehended. This is just my understanding. However the main point is that as per ang 1390, the shakti behind previous avtars (sri Ram Chander, sri Krishan ji e.t.c.) in certain instances was infact Guru Nanak Dev ji which proves that Guru Nanak Dev ji existed before they became pargat in this kharam bhoomi (earth) in 1469. Guru Nanak Dev ji did not teach people to recite his name instead they recieved Naam directly from Sachkhand and was given the honour of teaching others to recite Naam. Guru Nanak Dev ji taught people to get closer to Nirankaar by japping Naam, bringing panj chor under control, kirat karna, sharing earnings e.t.c. We should not disrespect previous avtars or bhagats and can learn from actions which are in line with Gurbani. As Gursikhs we are taught by Guru Sahib - mittha bolna. We should never use foul language in normal speech let alone for insulting other dharams, prophets, avtars e.t.c. We do not really need to focus too much on other dharams, Guru Granth Sahib ji has all the knowledge we require to walk on this path towards Waheguru. All of the qualities of previous avtars are contained within Guru Sahib. Lets just focus more on becoming chela of Guru Sahib. We now 100% that if we become bhagats of Guru Sahib we can achieve mukhti and Sachkhand. If other avtars are in Sachkhand or not it does not change the fact that we still have to follow the teachings of Guru Sahib in this Kaljug. Kalijug parman Nanak Gur Angaḏ Amar Kahaio - Ang 1390. In Kaljug Guru Nanak is samrath. You made yourself known as Guru Angad and Guru Amar Das. Sri Guru Raj Abicẖal Atal Aad Purakẖ Furmaio. Aad Purakh has said that the Raaj of Guru Nanak is unmovable and permanent.
  16. Gurparsad(i) - In mool mantar we read Gurparsad which mean through thew kirpa of Guru we can meet Akaal Purakh. So who is Guru reffered to in Gurbani - Guru Nanak Dev ji. To reach Sachkhand one has to receive kirpa of Guru Nanak Dev ji and receive Gurmat Naam, (this is now done through Amrit Sanchar because the Jot of Guru Nanak Dev ji now resides in Guru Granth Sahib ji.) So how did sri Krishan ji reach Sachkhand, who was there Guru and what naam did they jap? Many great avtars, bhagats ...... have reached Sachkhand but only after adopting Guru Nanak as there Guru and receiving Gurmat Naam. In the end our goal remains the same, milaap with Waheguru and Sachkhand. How to get there, simple, jap Naam all night and all day. I think we can all agree on this. Indeed, ang 1390 describes the greatness of sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, so many bhagats, avtars......... are singing the praises of sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Guru Nanak Dev ji got Gurmat Naam directly from Sachkhand and gave us bania sir bania - the highest bani of all - Gurbani. No other previous avtar can claim this.
  17. The tradition of only doing Kirtan and Paath should remain st sri Darbar Sahib. Gurbani Kirtan and Paath are of Gurbani only therefore it is always sukhdaee, pleasure giving. It is the ultimate form of katha. Gurbani is in itself katha of Akal Purakh. However Katha is good and can help one gain an understanding of Gurmat. However no human being is perfect and therefore they cannot do perfect katha of Gurbani. Also imagine if someone like Inder Singh Ghagga started doing katha at sri Darbar Sahib! Also Katha can also be used as a political tool and for politics in general. This would not be appropriate for sri Darbar Sahib.

  19. Which museum are you taking about? The one already at Darbar Sahib. I have seen this, it just contains pictures of various Gursikhs. Noone can learn about 1984 from this current gallery. This is supposed to be a memorial dedicated to the Shaheed of 1984. What can the future generations learn from a Gurdwara. This Sikh Memorial should contain pictures of shaheeds with information about how they attained shaheedi as well other information regarding the dharam yudh morcha and atrocities committed by Indian Govt. One should be able to learn what happened during 1984. We do not require another Gurdwara inside Darbar Sahib, there are multiple saroops parkashed in Darbar Sahib we need a museum that can tell future generations the truth about 1984 and bravery of the Sikh Shaheeds.

Badal gave the ticket to the wife of Alam. Is this acceptable? "The photos thing came about because someone complained the Gurdwara wouldm have pics of the shaheeds from the Khalistan movement. There are pics of Bhai Amrik SIngh and Gen Subeg SIngh in the gallery, and they have been there for years." Who complained about the pictures? Avtar Singh Makkar has stated in recent news article that there will be no pictures or names. I am not talking about the gallery but the Sikh Memorial which is dedicated to the shaheeds of 1984. How can a Sikh Memorial contain no pictures or names of shaheeds? I do not understand why you resort to name calling? Daas has raised genuine concerns and it seems like many others on this forum agree. Anyway daas has no enmity towards you and I would never call you names such as "imbecile" or "weasel". Please lets maintain respect towards each other. This is a panthic issue and not personal issue veer ji. Again I hope I am wrong and Sant Samaj and bhai Harnam Singh ji are right. Daas only wants chardi kala for the panth. May Guru Sahib bless Sant Samaj, bhai Harnam Singh ji and entire Sik Panth with success and chardi kala.
  21. If bhai Amrik Singh ji was lying about bhai Harnam Singh ji visiting Radhswami leader then is wrong. However bhai Amrik Singh ji made this statement in front of thee media and we have taken him at his word. It would be good if this issue can be cleared. Veer N30 Singh ji, How can one get a seat in the SGPC, this is nearly impossible because first you need to join a political party either Congress or Akali Dal Badal which are both corrupt, there is no doubt on this. On a personal level I could never join hands with these parties or campaign for votes for them. How would I campaign for Parkash Singh Badal while he is hiring dushts like Sumedh Saini to DGP and giving ticket to dusht Izhar Alam? We could easily defeat Badal and Congress with combined effort of Panthic Jathebandis Maan, Bittu and Sampardas/Jathebandis - AKJ,Taksal,Nihangs e.t.c. We do not need to join hands with corrupt politicians and corrupt parties we can achieve success by forming a third front which has Naam Abhiyaasi, Rehitwaan Gursikhs and leaders with good political knowledge. If all the Panthic leaders get together and form a plan to get control of SGPC we can get success. No individual can can get chardi kale for panth unless they have apaar kirpa of Guru Sahib this needs to be a combined effort between Panthic Gursikhs and Panthic Leaders. I think we are overestimating Badal/Captain and underestimating the potential of the Sikh Panth. Lets set aside differences regarding maryada etc and get chard kale for panth first. I repeat we will never get success by joining hands with Congress or Akal Dal Badal. I hope Sant Samaj and bhai Harnam Singh ji can prove daas wrong. Rabb Rake

There will be Prakash of Guru Granth Sahib in the gurdwara and hence, no pictures will be put in the memorial nor any names be mentioned,” SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar said. Why are they making another Gurdwara in Darbar Sahib? No pictures and no names of the shaheeds of our panth? This is just wrong and makes no sense. This is why so many people are opposing the Sikh Memorial theory are not anti-panthic. We just want to honour the Shaheeds of 1984 in the best possible way. The Sikh Memorial should have pictures of the Shaheeds and the name off every shaheed. It should be large museum in which one can feel the pain and learn about the massacre carried out by the Indian Govt. A Gurdwara with no pictures of shaheed or names cannot achieve this.
  23. The chair issue in regards to Badal is minor what about the appointment of the Dusht Samedh Saini to DGP why has Sant Samaj stayed silent. Sumedh Saini his alleged to have Sikhs also Badal gave to ticket to dusht Izhar Alam. If bhai Harnam Singh ji can come out in the media and openly say that the appointment of Sumedh Saini and giving to ticket to Izhar Alam was wrong then this would be great and he would immediately get respect from the Sikh Panth. We cannot have ties with a person that appoints killers of Sikhs. Also why are Badal and Makkar saying that the Sikh memorial will only be a Gurdwara and have no pictures? I hope bhai Harnam Singh ji can shed more light on this. Surely the Sikh Memorial should have pictures and names of all shaheed of 1984 and other massacres by the Indian Govt. Can you please clarify these points. I have nothing against bhai Harnam Singh ji and hope he has the best interests of the PAnth at heart but he should clarify above points - giving ticket to izhar alam, appointing Sumedh Saini, no pictures in Sikh Memorial.   24. Benti to admin to not allow foul language on this forum. This is a Sikh forum that should try and uphold the values of Guru Granth Sahib. When Gursikhs communicate with each other they always speak with pyaar and respect even if they disagree with each other. Resorting to name calling and swear words is not right and should not be allowed on this forum. It does not set a good example especially to the youth who I am sure read this forum. It is disappointing that we cannot communicate with pyaar, we are all children of Guru Sahib and although we have differences of opinon we are chele of the same Guru, Dhan Guru Nanak Dev ji.
  25. Maaf karna Chatanga ji I did not read your post correctly. However I think it is vital that we stop fighting between ourselves and focus on the issue at hand. Daas is still steadfast in regards to not joining Badal or Congress. By joining with these parties we will get limited success. Akali Dal and Congress are rife with corruption and are not suitable environment for Naam Abhiyaasi, Rehitwaan Gursikhs. Have we lost faith in ourselves. Can we not form a third party with Panthic Gursikhs? Its about time that Taksal, Akj, Nihangs and other Sampardas/Jathebandis form a new party and keep differences aside for chardi kala of Panth. There should at least be a meeting between all the Jathebandis to see what can be done. When was the last time leaders of AKJ, Taksal, Nihangs, Nirmalas, Sevapanthis................. got together and had a meeting? If all the leaders got together I am sure they could work something out, Satguru Mehar Karan! Hanji, now time for sri Rehraas Sahib da paath.
