Break it down to two words. Sud is (pronounced like mud; with soft sounding  ‘d’) s+the = forever

ras = ananda. Hence, sadras means,  Ananda that can be enjoyed forever. Hope this helps.

    Bull Chukh muaff

This would be correct if the word was broken up ਸਦ+ਰਸ (which it can be, but usually you would find it written seperately as ਸਦ ਰਸ rather than ਸਦਰਸ)

But in Katha, and from what I have heard from Giani Singhs, the way the word is pronounced in this context is ਸ+ਦਰਸ/ਸ-ਦਰਸ

    ਸ = In this context could mean samaan (equal) ਦਰਸ=Daras i.e. vision/seeing.

I.e. To be seen as equal to i.e. in Panjabi what we would say as  ਤੁੱਲ or ਬਰਾਬਰ. This is echoed in the meaning by Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha - ਜੋ ਸਮਾਨ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਵੇ. - i.e. jo (that) samaan (equal) dikhaee deve (which is seen) - that which is seen as equal.

  2. This word comes up in Mahan Kosh as ਸਦ੍ਰਿਸ. It means 'equal to'. In sanskrit it is सदृश (sadarsh).

    As written in Mahan Kosh:

    ਸੰ. सदृश ਵਿ- ਸਦ੍ਰਿਕ੍ਸ਼੍‍. ਜੋ ਸਮਾਨ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਵੇ. ਜੇਹਾ. ਤੁੱਲ. ਸਮਾਨ. "ਕੂਰ ਕੁਪੱਤਾ ਸਦ੍ਰਿਸ ਕੁੱਤਾ". (ਗੁਪ੍ਰਸੂ).

To illustrate the meaning given in Faridkot Teeka by Singhstah above:

Having daya (mercy) on all Jeev (souls) is Sadaras (equal to) all the merits/ bathing in the Athaahat Teerath (i.e. the belief that high merit was obtained in bathing in the teeraths, Guru Ji says this is truly obtained when practicing daya/mercy on all).

Just translating this part: ਤੇਰੇ ਸਦਰਸ ਹੋਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ Tere (to you) Sadaras (equal) Hor Koee Nahi Hai (no one else is)  i.e. no one is equal to you (Vaheguru)

No, brother, I did not. You can't just throw up a video without a few sentences of its import, and expect people to view the whole thing.

Anyways, thanks for now doing so.

Finally, I would advise this babaji to contact the Buddha Dal with hard info in order to make changes in the Gutka at the source instead of trying to tell random people on the Internet which then means they will possibly tangle with those who read the "incomplete" Brahm Kavach.

BHforce do you know who the giani talking in the Video is? He is Giani Gurvinder Singh Ji Nangli Wale, a fully fledged Nihang Singh respected by all vidhvans of Budha Dal and Tarna Dal. they themselves run a Gurmat Vidhyala under Panth Akali Tarna Dal Baba Bakala. The recent Budha Dal Sarabloh Granth Sahib Paath Bodh was conducted by Giani Gurvinder Singh Ji, Giani Ji is a great vidhvaan who has studied aadh, dasam, sarabloh, vedant, Sanskrit and Farsi in depth. The old Budha Dal Gutka has many typo mistakes as it was printed by Chattar Jeevan Singh Amritsar rather than Budha Dal directly. You can ask many Budha Dal Singhs they recite the extra line in Braham kavach as Giani Ji has stated.

    1. Yes a Rehal can be used for senchi sahib, firstly a clean kappra should be placed underneath the rehal, then a ramala on top the rehal, after which you can parkash your pothi sahib.

    2. No a bookmark should never be used. whether its Guru Jis Saroop, a Senchi Sahib, a Pothi Sahib or a Gutka Sahib. From what i have learnt from Gursikhs a bookmark should never be used, remember - 'Pothi Parmesar Ka Than.' for keeping your place during sehaj path you should use a separate notebook, in which you record the ang number and shabad. I feel it would be more satkaar to do that then use a bookmark. this also gives you a chance to write gurbani (albeit a small amount) , extra laha!

    3. in general you should keep them in a clean space, most gursikhs keep them on a clean shelf. Ramala sahib should be placed underneath them and then another ramala sahib should be placed on top. along with that they should have their own separate white ramalas which is wrapped around them. Some Gursikhs keep their Pothi Sahibs on a bed, or on a Manji Sahib which is also your own shardha but not compulsory. one thing to keep in mind is not to place the pothia on top of each other, rather side by side. Also path shouldn't be done from the Senchi Sahib with anyone sitting higher then you.

    Hope That Helped

  5. For those who want to learn how to preserve and Repair pothi sahibs, maharaj sarups, a new organisation has been setup in the UK; 'Pothi Seva'. Currently continous ongoing seva of pothi sahibs and 4-5 workshops have been organised around UK.

    http://pothiseva.org.uk/

    https://www.facebook.com/PothiSeva

  6. I was hoping to get this book turned into an audiobook. The Gurmukh who was doing this though I ended up ignoring via email so I will try to apologise for my mistakes and hopefully get this done again. The book is one of the beest Jeevanis for Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh

Yes giaan kirna is a phenomanal book. it has not been written entirely by Giani pritam singh ji,as he has incorporated the work of Giani Kirpal Singh's 'gurmukh darshan' , sant kartar singh ji's 'khalsa jivan' and giani vir singh madokes 'khalsa vachittar jivan' basically giving you a rounded version of all jivanis written of sant giani gurbachan singh ji. let me know if i can be ne service in the audiobook sewa!

  7. From the time of baba budha ji to now not one bibi has been granthi of sri darbar sahib hence sri darbar sahib granthis being called ' Singh Sahibs'. I have not till date seen a woman as a granthi of any gurdwara let alone an itihaasik gurdwara. if women really want to become granthis of itihasik gurdwaras, they have to meet the requirements of being able to read gurbani shudh and do katha , etc etc. but personally i doubt the sgpc will take that step as of yet allowing bibis to do nething in darbar sahib. above poster made excellent point - if women are not granthis in normal local gurdwaras how can we expect them to b granthis @ sri darbar sahib? families dont want their sons to b granthis and see it is a low profession job for lazy people, how will they allow their daughters to become granthis? how will women who have to take care of children/family etc be able to be able to take such a BIG responsibility of doing darbar sahib sewa. my views aside, i personally also think sampardas/ sant smaj etc will have big problems with this and be a big boulder infront any woman who wants to do this sewa. bibis can't do kirtan/ishnan sewa how will they do granthi sewa?

I think we're putting the status of sri darbar sahib granthi sahib as a v small thing that ne1 can do. well that is far from the case. To become granthi sahib of sri darbar sahib one has to be very well educated in Sri Guru granth sahib, Dri Dasam granth sahib, Panth parkash , Gurpartap Suraj Granth, gurbilas etc and be very good katha vachiks in gurbani and all other granths. if bibis want to do this sewa - like ''imakaur'' said '' Before jumping onto the pavitar seva of Darbar Sahib, bibia first need to become active in other gurdwara sahibs.''

  8. That is fine, as long as u are doing ur nitnem memorised you can do what you want. if u are using a gutka sahib then it is different out of satkaar for the pothi.

if you feel u can't concentrate on ur nitnem while running then don't do it. i sometime go on walks when i do my nitnem and i can concentrate fine.
