Brother, you wear a dastaar. Nobody is going to know you're bald but you, because your head shall always be covered. If you're worried about a woman, then find someone who doesn't judge your worth based on how much (or how little) hair you have on your head.

I can see where you're coming from, but I'd rather be sad and know it was the truth, than live a lie and be happy. But like I said I get what you're saying about accentuating her negatives. I just don't think, long-term, that's the best way to approach stuff.

Making yourself hate somebody for their negative aspects is harsh. We all have aspects to ourselves that aren't perfect, and imagine how much it would hurt for somebody to focus on those aspects in order for someone to justify not liking us. It's one way of getting over someone, but I wouldn't recommend it as it just ends up in bitterness. It's best to chalk up the experience as a life lesson, and use it as a way of growing and improving. It's a very Panjabi way of turning what may have been good - on the whole - but interpreting it as something terrible in order to allow yourself to move on. That's not a very grown up thing to do; you're almost deluding yourself and creating a fantasy of bad memories. But if it works then fair play but I wouldn't recommend it.

If you're wearing a dastaar there's nothing to worry about. Regarding the wife issue, if you're sensitive about it, don't appear in-front of her without a keski or something similar; she doesn't need to see your bald head. When you've been married for a few years then you can reveal you're bald, and by that time you'll probably have a few kids, and she won't care either way!

Also, avoid songs by Durga Rangila, especially when going on long coach trips. :giggle:

Nothing much you do, bro. Just pretend you're the Sikh Hulk Hogan, hehe.

Be strong. She's moved on and she's with somebody else. There's nothing you can do. You just have to sort yourself out and move on too.
  11. No, of course it isn't. Any responsible parent would never let their child near a game like GTA. You just don't know how the child will take to what they see and experience. So best to stick to the age guidelines.
  12. I think that's just called 'dating', surely? A Sikh girl going out with a non-Sikh can't be thrown into the 'grooming' bracket everytime. Unless there's a definite plan on the part of Hindus to deliberately target Sikh girls.
  13. @ hsingh - Takes balls to admit all the above. I don't think it's good to judge anybody especially having not walked in their shoes, but there's always a way back, brother. Sometimes life just takes us off into strange directions. I hope you find your way back.
  14. That's it SIngh Ji, we can learn from and apply those lessons in our own lives. It's one of the reasons going back home is just not a very attractive prospect. As much as what makes us what we are is due to our heritage, it's the other stuff like these masaleh and dramas that so many of our generation (and even those older than us) don't want anything to do with "the old country", especially with the recent surge in almost Sicilian-like behaviour such as arranging murders of visiting loved ones over land and money disputes, etc. It just isn't worth it, especially when the police over there is bought and paid-for before stuff goes down.
  15. Word. My dad lost everything he'd worked for to greedy and calculating siblings back home, and it eventually destroyed him to the point where he had a huge heart attack and passed away. He was a Gursikh so his health problems weren't due to the classic Panjabi issues related to booze, etc.
  16. What is the above quote supposed to mean? It's just a collection of words in a coherent sentence but doesn't address the issue at hand.
  17. Don't bother, veer ji. Someone got butt-hurt when the truth about the true heritage of our "friends" over the border was being presented yesterday, and they've taken it upon their shoulders to do a bit of trolling as they say these days.
  18. Tell them to eff off with a bit of bass in your voice.
  19. I think Sikhi would've been appreciated and, dare I say, thrived a lot more had it been in the hands of people who weren't so intrinsically linked to a culture which is, at times, at complete odds with the religion. Even the religious amongst us display traits that are associated with the negatives aspects of our culture (excessive pursuit of paise even by so-called pious figures as one example); the non-religious don't know what's going on most of the time, haha.
