  1. Guru Sahibs writings had no title. He wrote alot at Anandpur and Paonta and Nanded. Later on when the writings were collected together they were given index names.
  2. The Khalsa is here - read Sri Sarbloh Granth Sahib section on Khalsa Mahima - Khalsa mera satgur pura - Khalsa Akal purakh ki fauj - Khalsa mero roop hai khaas Kalki Avtar is used as a metaphor about how mighty a Khalsa can be. Those people who take it literal perhaps do not follow Guru Granth Sahib Ji and want to gain a following. In Sri Dasam Granth Sahib it says all Avatars of Vishnu are fake because they loose the essence of Kla of Waheguru Akal Purakh and promote body worship.
  3. Astronomy should be encouraged than trickonology. Study of the universe is linked to Akal (static) and Kal (vibrant) and the energy waves (kla) control the human body. When there is no Dharam Kla (religious skill) or Sangeet Kla (music skill) people rely on money to shape their society - which has already happened across Europe. Technology has done it's purpose. And now is the time to control it before the power of speech is taken away from people as they become more and more reliant on this.
  4. This is right. You can not make English totally like Gurmukhi. Some gianis believe it's lakh kushiya patshahia but the correct is lakh kusiya patsahia
The Temporal Lord who fashioned the entire world; I salute the same Lord.384. Kaal or time is actually another name for Maya (illusion). When the sun rises in the morning and sets in the evening it is a play of Kaal. When the new moon appears and expands to a full moon it is also a play of Kaal. The Temporal Lord, who created the whole world; who created gods, demons and yakshas; In this modern age Kaal has assumed a vicious form in the form technology. Although technology may seem helpful it is also a illusion and can be deadly. 1) Watching television only to pass time is not good for the soul. If it is needed for vital information then it should be viewed. 2) Another problem is text messaging people to pass time. This leads to social problems. 3) Flying on aeroplanes to pass holiday time actually makes your holiday worse. 4) Using cars to give lifts to strangers is not the path of a Gurmukh. 5) Playing video games to pass time makes the mind foolish. Only games that involve strategy benefit the mind. 6) Listening to music via MP3 or CDs can block a vital nerve sense that signals to the brain. It is better if the person sings and practices this natural technique. 7) The electronic mail system is making the world smaller. On the other hand using the might of a pen can change millions of people. The Gurmukh has the power of time in the hand if the right method is used. Otherwise time can send the likes Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva into a never-ending black hole. He is the only one form the beginning to the end; I consider Him only my Guru.385.
  6. Why do only certain organisations like Nihang Jatha or Bhindran Jatha have both Granths? I am talking about inside Punjab because Hazur Sahib and Patna Sahib have both. The SGPC Maryada applies for most Gurdwarey in Punjab. And now there is a separate SGPC for Haryana and Delhi also? I think the Panth is waking up in the west.
  7. There is no difference in Gurbani, Mul Mantra or Guru Mantra. Gurbani is the power-house and Mul Mantra is the connection. All the wires need to be correctly joint to light the bulb which is the Guru Mantra (Vahe-Guru).
  8. I disagree because we are in a atomic age where knifes are used only for cooking. Unless you want to be drug addict or thug no area was safe for a saint until the saint made it safe. Time is also getting faster making the work difficult but it's not impossible. Today cutting the hair is a big status among the Sikhs and a line has to be drawn and shown.
  9. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh Today there is a hurry to become a saint-soldier tyar bar tyar Khalsa and obtain Shastr Vidiyaa from self-proclaimed leaders. History tells us no Khalsa ceremony was complete without Dasam Granth. After Guru Gobind Singh the Khalsa was engaged in battles and was a matter of survival. Then came the Sikh rule which ended after the British take over. The British wanted to establish a Church in Amritsar and gained a following. Then big Sikh saints like Sant Attar Singh, Sant Karam Singh, Sant Jawala Singh, Sant Natha Singh baptised lakhs and lakhs of people into Khalsaism. To become a saint is not a 1 minute job but takes alot of time and effort and patience - and it is needed very urgently for Sikhs in the western world. The time that is wasted over foolish debates, arguements, insecurity could be spent in immense meditation because all the resources are available. Baba Nand Singh did it in jungles and places like Dehradun when there were no roads to reach there. Why not become a leader yourself rather than relying on a someone else. kir swDU AMjulI punu vfw hy ] kar saadhhoo a(n)julee pun vaddaa hae || Greet the Holy Saint with your palms pressed together; this is an act of great merit. hir iqsY iDAwvhu sMq jnhu jo ley CfweI ]2] har thisai dhhiaavahu sa(n)th janahu jo leaeshhaddaaee ||2|| Meditate on that Lord, O Saints; He shall rescue and save you. ||2|| sMq jnw ivxu BweIAw hir iknY n pwieAw nwau ] sa(n)th janaa vin bhaaeeaa har kinai n paaeiaa naao || Without the humble Saints, O Siblings of Destiny, no one has obtained the Lord's Name. 10. Saint Bhagat Kabir jee: Saint Kabir Das (kabir, Arabic for "great", dasa, Sanskrit for "slave" or "servant"), is widely acknowledged as one of the great personality of the Bhakti movement in North India. He was as is widely acknowledged born in Year 1398 A.D.(71 years before Guru Nanak). Kabir is not easily categorized as a Sufi or a Yogi -- he is all of these. He is revered by Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs. He stands as a unique, saintly, yet very human, bridge between the great traditions that live in India. Kabir says of himself that he is, "at once the child of Allah and Ram." Kabir Many legends abound about the birth, life and death of Kabir, one of India's most quoted poets and mystics. His birth itself is shrouded in mystery, some say he was the son of a Brahman widow, others that he was of virgin birth, what is known though is that he was brought up in a family of muslim weavers. He was never formally educated and was almost completely illiterate. According to legend, the only word that he ever learned how to write was "Rama".early in his life Kabir became a disciple of the Hindu bhakti saint Ramananda. It was unusual for a Hindu teacher to accept a Muslim student, but tradition says the young Kabir found a creative way to overcome all objections. The story is told that on one particlar day of the year, anyone can become a disciple by having a master speak the name of God over him. It is common for those who live near the Ganges to take their morning bath there in the sacred waters. The bhakti saint Ramananda took his bath as he did every day, by arising before dawn. On this special day, Ramananda awoke before dawn and found his customary way down to the steps of the Ganges. As he was walking down the steps to the waters, a little hand reached out in the predawn morning and grabbed the saint's big toe.Ramananda taken by surprise and he expressed his shock by calling out the name of God. Looking down he saw in the early morning light the hand of the young Kabir. After his bath in the early light he noticed that on the back of the little one's hand was written in Arabic the name Kabir. He adopted him as son and disciple and brought him back to his ashrama, much to the disturbance of his Hindu students, some of whom left in righteous protest. It is said that what really made this meeting the most special is that in this case it,was only after Kabir's enlightenment that Ramananda, his teacher, became enlightened. Not much is known about what sort of spiritual training Kabir may have received. He did not become a sadhu or rununciate. Kabir never abandoned worldly life, choosing instead to live a balanced life of householder and mystic, tradesman and contemplative. Kabir was married, had children, and lived the simple life of a weaver. The social and practical manifestation of Kabir's philosophy has rung through the ages. It represented a synthesis of Hindu, and Muslim concepts. From Hinduism he accepts the concept of reincarnation and the law of Karma. From Islam he takes the affirmation of the single god and the rejection of caste system and idolatry. The basic religious principles he espouses are simple. According to Kabir, all life is an interplay of two spiritual principles. One is the personal soul (Jivatma) and the other is God (Paramatma). It is Kabir's view that salvation is the process of bringing into union these two divine principles. Kabir is a very important figure in Indian history. He is unusual in that he is spiritually significant to Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims alike. Kabir openly criticized all sects and gave a new direction to the Indian philosophy. Kabir touches the soul, the conscience, the sense of awareness and the vitality of existence in a manner that is unequalled in both simplicity and style. It is for this reason that Kabir is held in high esteem all over the world. Another beauty of Kabir's poetry is that he picks up situations that surround our daily lives. Thus, even today, Kabir's poetry is relevant and helpful in both social and spiritual context. Following Kabir means understanding one's inner self, realizing oneself, accepting oneself as is, and becoming harmonious with one's surroundings. Kabir has written much poetry and song. All of Kabir's recorded verses are in Hindi. His lyrics are characterised by a free use of the vernacular, and is unfettered by the grammatical bonds of his day. It is this quality which has made his philosophy accessible to generations of Indians. .. Legend says that he reliquished his body when he was about 120 years old. There is a famous legend about his death; When he died, his Hindu and Muslim followers started fighting about the last rites. When they lifted the cloth covering his body, they found flowers instead. The Muslim followers buried their half and the Hindu cremated thier half. In Maghar near Gorakhpur., his tomb and samadhi still stand side by side.
