You should write again stating as a British born Sikh you are concerned about the case of Paramjit Singh Ji and more imporatantly the general implications for all UK citizens when travelling to India e.g. wrongful arrest, planting of evidence , torture, denial of a consular visit etc etc. Lots of MPs got involved in the Guatanamo Taliban gang form Tipton and they certainly had nothing to do with the contituencies they accused were from. Human rights abuses and abuse of the justice system are not the domain of just one MP. The issue of Human Rights is global and the implications and underlying abuses in this case are ones that concern us all regardless of our contituency.

Take a look at the various local news programs broadcast by the BBC. The BBC West Midlands News could not get enough of the Tipton Taliban lot. Every week we had some story related to them. Now we have a scenario where someone from the Midlands has been arrested, tortured etc and the BBC West Midlands news wale are no where to be found. At Ramadan they air special programs for the Muslims (which I have no problem with) but where are the programs for Sikhs at Vasaikhi etc ? If u were to visit her now in Amritsar and you asked her exactly what her&bhai fauja singhs relationship was sant jarnail singh ji you would see that she would say that they had the utmost respect for each other. after bhai fauja singh ji gave his shaheedi to the khalsa panth, sant ji met with bibi jee and told her that if she was in need of anything that she could always ask him as sant jarnail singh ji had so much respect for the wife of a shaheed singh. in a recent video interview, bibi jee has explained that a lot of lies were spread at the time to create splits even further with the different jathe... as the panth was going through a vulnerable time, the masands looked at it as the perfect opportunity to start the break up of the panth. She went out of her way to do pandee of Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji when Bhai Fauja Singh Ji became a Shaheed. It is all on record and she knows it. She can try and gloss things over now but she was fairly vocal in tagging Shaheed Baba Jarnail Singh Ji as a coward. At the end of the day we all know who surrendered like cowards to GOI during Bluestar. At a time when people were being murdered left right and centre by indian forces some carefully selected people managed to surrender. Still cannot work out how they managed to surrender. Lord Goldsmith has said in the past that anyone who has committed human rights abuses abroad can be tried in the UK. Good to hear Vedanti is back. Please can those attending request he visit some of the Guru Ghar in the UK such as the ones in Bradford, Huddersfield, Birmingham, Wednesfield etc etc that still violate the sandesh he issued on Gurdwara party halls. He claimed on his last visit he would take action but to date none of the prabandakhs for these Guru Ghar have been summoned. These prabandakhs are not only violating the sandesh but also the basic principles of Sikhi by partaking and allowing Guru Ji's Golak to be used to fund these dirty sharab and bhangra halls. No good being a jathedar if he cannot sort these party halls out. Please remind him how past jathedar were real Panthic people who would stand against such beadbi. To date he has not followed in the steps of past Jathedar.

Dont expect any action on this issue from the Singh in Canada. In the 1980s there were some chardi-kalla Singhs in Candada who prevented a lot of beadbi. There was the case of church style benches in a durbar hall which they removed by smashing them all up. Now all Canada wale want to do is arrange marriages with each others restidar so they can get over the whole pind. Come on Canada wale wake up. You can go back to your marriage making side line after the beadbi has been sorted out.

How are you going to get the kids in to educate them ? I remember many years ago the bibia at the Guruwara started cooking chips and beans at lunch times. Guess what so many school kids would turn up that the bibia had to buy a bigger krahi etc. If you have lots of kids in the Guru Ghar you can begin to educate them. If even 1 or 2 pick up a leaflett and learn something about Sikhi it is a positive result.

It would be interesting to know whether the author has put in a formal complaint against the inspectors and pc heer. The inspectors (and the pc's who wore socks) have shown complete disregard for various areas of the so called race and diversity policy of the police. This is a serious breach and shoud not be ignored and laid to rest. If no formal complaints are put in against these officers then tomorrow it is ignorant officers like these who will be running things in the future and displaying their lack of knowledge and respect for race and diversity issues. As for PC Heer, again he has shown he is not fit to do the job and again action (via a formal complaint) should be initiated against him and maybe go to a station and report him for ABH. Kar seva baba surrenders Tribune News Service Patiala, January 8 Controversial Kar Seva Wale Baba Amrik Singh who was declared a proclaimed offender surrendered in the court of Ms Rajnish, Judicial Magistrate (First Class), here today and was sent to judicial custody till January 10. An FIR was registered against him at Tripuri police station on September 2 last year under various Sections of the IPC, including 420, 406, 409 and 120. The case was registered on a complaint made by Mr Gurmeet Singh on behalf of Baba Jagtar Singh, a resident of Dera Baba Jeevan Singh, Goindwal Sahib, Tarn Taran district. Two co-accused, Kanwaljit Kaur and Mukhtiar Singh, are in judicial custody while the Baba's sister, Harjinder, has already been bailed out. In September last year, Baba Amrik Singh was embroiled in a controversy when the Patiala police detected sensational documents pertaining to the purchase of prime land in certain parts of Punjab and bank accounts in the name of the alleged culprits. He had fled from Dera Baba Jeevan Singh at Tarn Taran and went underground after allegedly embezzling donations worth crores on July 8. The FIR revealed that the Baba belonged to a poor family. The Baba shot into limelight when he supervised kar seva of Sarovar of the Golden Temple, gold-plating of Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran, and Sikh shrines in Pakistan and allegedly collected huge donations. However, he had fled on the pretext of purchasing medicines from Amritsar.
