Does it contain all of what he sings or just the first line(s)?

Does anyone know who the writer of this is? Does any one have a written version? Also, can some provide the "lyrics" sung in this poem by Bhai Gopal Singh along with translations of each line. I understand most of it, but some lines by my current understanding don't really make sense.

To start out, the Amrit Kirtan is correct about those 2 lines (According to my knowledge). But that is not always the case. The Amrit Kirtan is often wrong on some Gurbani Tuks. Especially when it comes to Bhai Gurdas Singh's Vaar and Dasam Bani. Some examples are (these are all of examples that I remember. I don't actually have an Amrit Kirtan with me right now, so some may be off): 1. Amrit Kirtan: Gurmukha Mathey Ujaley Sachey Darbarey || Actual: Gursikha Mathey Ujaley Sache Darbarey || (Bhai Gurdas Singh's Vaar, Pauri 2) 2. Some Pauris in Bhai Gurdas Singh's Vaar end in "Wah Wah Gobind Singh Apey Gur Chela" and some end in "Waho Waho Gobind Singh Apey Gur Chela". Sometimes the Amrit Kirtan is incorrect about that. (Bhai Gurdas Singh's Vaar) 3. Amrit Kirtan: Peeyoh Pahul Khandeydhaar Hoye Janam Suhela || Actual: Peevoh Pahul Kandhdhaar Hoye Janam Suhela || (Bhai Gurdas Singh's Vaar, Pauri 1) VERY COMMON MISTAKE: 4. Amrit Kirtan: Khalsa Akaal Purakh Ki Fouj || Pragateyo Khalsa Pramatam Ki Mouj || Actual: Khalsa Kaal Purakh Ki Fouj || Pragateyo Pramatam Ko Mouj || (Sarbloh Granth) ^There are 3 changes in this line (Akal->Kaal, Khalsa (2nd line), Ki->Ko). Along with this, there are many changes in the entire Shabad. But I do not currently remember all of these. If you really want, I can give these to you. One more that I remember is: 5. Amrit Kirtan: Khalsa Mero Mukh Hai Anga || Khalsey Kai Haun Sad Sad Sanga || Actual: Khalsa Mero Mukh Hai Ang || Khalsey Kai Haun Basat Sad Sang || Those are just a few examples.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was about to post after reading the first couple of replies.

But there are some stories that aren't true and are made up, like the one I gave an example of.

When I asked a couple of different ragis and gyanis, they told me not to believe the stories that some make up to answer this question without having to do research about it. For example, in Bhagat Farid's saloks, when he is talking about a crow, he is not literally talking about a crow as depicted in pictures, he is talking about Kaam, Krodh , Lobh, Moh, and Ahunkar. But some just tell of a story where Bhagat Farid Ji saw a crow and wrote the saloks telling the crow to leave him alone, when he was telling Kaam, Krodh, etc to leave him alone. That is what I mean.

Each chand has a certain pattern. By the way, I believe that They have 12 syllables. Check this, X means to emphasize This might seem off on your computer since I am using a phone. I'll have to ask someone with more gyan about the use of ounkarh and sihaari. But I assure you that ounkarhs and sihaaris have some meaning in Gubani. I believe it might have to do with who is being spoken about. For example: In Japji Sahib, It says ਜਿਨ ਕੈ ਰਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ At the time, everyone assumed Ram as Ram, no Akal Purakh, so Guru Ji used ounkarh to indicate God. In Chaubees Avtar, it says ਕਿਸਨ ਬਿਸਨ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨਹਿ ਧਿਆਊਂ ॥ In Chabuees Avtar, it is talking already talking about the avtars, so there is no point in adding an ounkarh. In Kabiyo Bach Benti Chaupi, it says ਕਾਲ ਪਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਾ ॥ In Chaupaee Sahib, Guru Ji is talking to Akal Purakh. So when talking about Vishnu, there is an ounkarh to show that that is who Guru Ji is talking to. Note: This is my current thinking, I haven't asked someone with more gyan yet. I'll comfirm once I've done so. Also, when you say that Guru Gobind Singh ji might have been worshipping Vishnu, it makes me wonder: Are You A Sikh?

In Gurbani, Guru Ji uses ounkarhs ੁ and siharees ਿ at the end of words to reflect the certain meaning of that word. For example, here it says ਬਿਸਨ, meaning Akal Purakh. But in the tuk: ਕਾਲ ਪਾਇ ਕਰ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸਾ ॥, it is ਬਿਸਨੁ, meaning Vishnu. Here is another example of this in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The word Ram is excessively. When talking about Akal Purakh, it says: ਰਾਮ. When talking about Ram, it says: ਰਾਮੁ, like in Salok Mahalla 9, it says ਰਾਮੁ ਗਇਓ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਗਇਓ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ॥ When you read Gurbani, you will see many, many words with ounkars and siharees at the end. By the way the line ਕਿਸਨ ਬਿਸਨ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨਹ ਧਿਆਊਂ ॥ is not from Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, it is from Sri Dasam Granth Sahib.

The steeks published by the Budha Dal include commas and dashes. I took a look at an actual beerh of Sri Sarbloh Granth, which didn't include these and was in Larivaar saroop. For now we can type it up according to the steek, then later we can replace them with spaces in a different version. And then we can get rid of the spaces for a larivaar version. So there will be 3 different versions once we are done. But I still need some sevadaars to join.
