  1. Really? I had no idea our Gurus were vegan; didn't they drink milk and eat butter etc?
  2. Please delete this thread - I posted in the wrong section and cant find a delete button!
  3. http://www.jawadditaksal.org/index.php/General/raag-siri.html -> the raags are down the left side, each raag has two shabad notations and info on the raag itself.
  4. Start off by just listening to a tape, that way the paath and pronounciation will 'stick'. (As a child, I grew up listening to recordings of nitnem playing when I was getting ready for school then when the time came to start doing my paath, I already knew most of it off by heart) Listen to the tape whenever you can, on your way to school/work, at school/work, before you go to bed, while showering etc. Remember that pronounciation is very important, it is better to listen to paath than to be doing it wrong, so listen to it first then try to do it yourself.
  5. I'm not exactly sure where the rest of the Ardad comes from, but the first part (ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਭਗੌਤੀ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਕੈ) comes from Chandee dee Vaar, in the Dasam Granth - http://sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=20433
  6. What raag is the tune for in??Pls help, been tryin to figure it out for ages, and I have been through the 31 raags in the SGGS, it aint one of them. I'm pretty sure that the arohi and avrohi have the notes: Sa, Re, Ga(komal), Pa, Dha, Sa(taar saptak) in them, but they might vary from arohi to avrohi. btw: I know the actual shabad is in Raag Suhi, so pls dont reply with 'Raag Suhi'. Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Dhanvaad Veerji! Very nice to read something like this. May I know where you read/got this from? I would like to read more sakhis like this, about how the gurus lived on a day to day basis. Thanks again
  8. Thank you, it makes alot more sense now! I got that translation from the sikhitothemax software.
  9. WOW ! Hope u can do this. I wish i had the time and knowledge to help, but i guess its guru maharaj's choice...
  10. GURFATEH!:waheguru: Recently while reading Sri Dasam Granth with my sister, i found an interesting pangti. I would really appreciate it if someone could translate or help me understand this: ਜੋ ਤਿਨ ਕਹਾ ਸੁ ਸਭਨ ਉਚਰੋਂ ॥ ਡਿੰਭ ਵਿੰਭ ਕਛੁ ਨੈਕ ਕ ਕਰੋਂ ॥੫੦॥ The translations i found didnt really make sense they are as follows: 1. I say unto all whatever He told me. (Saying it) I am professing even a bit of hypocrisy or deceit.(50) 2. Whatever He told me, I say unto you, there is not even a little heresay in it.50. Thanks in advance :waheguru:

  12. Dont to anything... yet. Dont worry, Guru ji is watching. You are not the only one who has noticed, other people are probably realising that these people are making a problem. Sooner or later someone will kick them out, and if no one does anything then ask them politley to behave or leave. No point in starting a fight, eh?
