1. The only one i know is he was one of the GREATEST sikh generals we have had!
2. Cancer Research have been working on a cure for YEARS. This guy can cure it on tv? Ok....Ne1 told them? So then there is no need for them to keep working on a cure that kills so many people in a day!
3. isnt the gurdwara named after Jassa Singh Ramgharia? Just as we have Guru Ghars names after or Singhs like Baba Deep Singh?
4. GuruPiyaro, If you have not yet had a chance to speak to the Multi-Cultural Community Centre in Watford then please either contact them via phone or e-mail today. This is the last working day before Sunday and we might still be able to convince the Centre to accept the wishes of the UK Sikh community. With Guru Ji's grace we have resolved a fair few beadbi situations on SikhSangat.com before when we have all get together. Please stop the arguements for today and lets all unite under the Nishan Sahib and attempt to resolve the issue. Dhan Guru Dhan Guru Piyaray! WaheguruJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJiKiFateh!! Bumping up again Please all be prepared to attend on sunday.
5. Read some previous actions from uk sikhs before jumping to conclusions There is a set procedure in place to get the wider community on the side of the sikhs. Obviously, if the protest fails, singhs will take maharaj away at his wish. Its been done before and will again, but at least try to educate the people who do not understand sikhi first. If you just take the saroop, the hall will not understand, we will just look like fanatics AGAIN. Therefore the whole point of the sangat contacting is to express their concerns and aid the rescue in a peaceful attempt first.
6. chatting about jaswant singh or akjs or bamans wont stop anything. ring the centre up and at least do something productive!!!!! looks like a protest this weekend if we carry on wasting time on meaningless things If there is a need for protest, also makesure you turn up! Keep ringing in and emailing in!
7. This is an unfair statement to post simply as it is not the fault of the sangat. It is the fault of those manmat thinking people who only work for money. IF you read the posts and pay attention to UK beadbi you would know there is a campaign which is preventing such occurances. There might be a few things this year but considering i think it was around 14 weddings were stopped last year? This year that has been less then 5 i think? All of which were stopped. It is unfortunate that there is a problem in the UK, but it doesnt mean the sangat are not doing anything about it. Its only visible on the forums where alot of people talk about doing stuff, but when there is protest, only the same handful of people turn up. You might think they are the last, actually they are the first. If im not mistaken, im sure it was UK singhs who got the hukhmnama outlining Maharaj is not allowed to be taken to halls etc and its UK singhs who bought back the sandesh from Akaal Takht too.
8. I havent used this in a LONG time but today is a special today!! ENGLAND OUT!! WOOOOOOO!!!! :TH: :TH: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh and HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! AKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!
9. Fateh Ji Someone asked me for this a while ago, and i cant find it anywhere.. i have vol 2, but can not find a copy of vol 1 Anyone help?
10. First contemplate what is religion. Then you find your answer, coz in effect, there is no such thing as religion. Its just a word. Therefore when you pass that stage, you find that yes there is God without religoin. Religion is just a way of living, thre are many goray more so then others... who believe in god, but do not follow a religion, therefore yes, there is God without religion
11. Name the Gurdwara please and also when you took amrit from this person. Quite funny this. This person was your panj originally, before re taking amrit as you had jooth of your parents? But amazingly, you had jooth of others on a coach to london (who were not amritdhari..) Sory if that offends you, but you yourself who talk so much about Sikhi to others and the importance of naam should maybe take one look at the person you talk of and the way Bani influences his life. Hope maharaj has some serious mercy on you.
12. http://search.ebay.com/guru-granth_W0QQfkrZ1QQfnuZ1QQfromZR8 any reason thats on the site?
13. I disagree to even this extent. How do we know this baby/mother is not meant to die at that point? They may have paid of their Lekha and now are ready to pass over in Akaal Purakhs game. If we truly live by the Hukham, then we dont play god, we let him carry on as he pleases and accept what happened. Wasnt it Sant Gurbachan Singh jee? who was injured severly in a car accident? and when in hospital was told they need to cut his kesh to operate. He clearly stated, i rather die then have my kesh cut so i can live. Maharaj plans what happens, he plans who lives, who dies, everything to when we go to the toilet, therefore who are we to interfere? THe answer lies in Bani, read and understand and you will be given the answer in your ardaas.
14. Lets open our eyes a lil people - it DOES matter who gives amrit di daat - we have to keep our eyes open in this age of kali yuga. Ure not going to sit blindfolded in a room and wait for some random singhs in five to come and grace u with amrit. YOU do think of the jatha u r taking amrit from before u enter the divaan. U watch how they prepare the amrit. Make sure that everythings on par with the maryadha you have been taught. IN AN IDEAL WORLD, yes, all amrit would be the same. But this is not the case. This is not sat yuga. Its a dark age and i think too many people try n hide this fact. That doesnt mean go n create divisions - just do what you have to do and dont say nothin to no one. I know u learned singhs such as ak-47 and all-info will have educative replies to above and i look forward to them, for i know that everything i say may not be 100% correct. I am on the learning path ... Im the lowest of the low... forgive my mistakes pyaario. 144464 Paji, i can admit that yes there is conflict between the two jatha and will not mention as to why on a forum as it is an open invite to slander and that is not what this discussion is for!! But i can also agree when you say taksali singhs are not very welcoming. Bare in mind what taksal was... Baba Deep Singh wouldnt let you leave Taksaal until he was confident you had had full training - 7-12yrs of Bani, now its one yr in Taksaal and you sorted... Something changed! lol the singhs that i duno did sooo much Bani they could fight with no head!!! and Write Bani without having to even think, their hand would flow.. thought the minimum time was 7yrs+ to gain full understanding, has gone out of the window to a yr.. Either way, besides the point, to focus on taking Amrit from somewhere coz it seems "Friendly" you could say, isnt really a good reason to pesh yeh? I mean think about it, are you here, on THIS EARTH to be friends with someone and get along with them or to Please Akaal Purakh. Yeh it does help to have a good set of friends and sangat but then to select where you would like this sangat to be isnt a good thing is it? You have said this is Kal Jug, true, it is! And you pointed out whats wrong in it. So how about doing, the correct thing and pull down the barriers? AKJ Might be bringing in people, i have no problem with that or the Jatha. It is simply because people are understanding more so what Maharaj is saying in Keertan because the tunes are more catchy, there is now Sikhi To the Max translations so people can read, understand and appreciate the message. People have lost interest in Raag also. I was having a conversation with a Chardi Kala Gursikh at a camp recently. Eventually the conversation lead to Keertan regarding Sikh Parchar for Bani etc and i agreed that the Jatha do promote an easier understanding of the Bani. But then when individuals only choose to listen to one style and disown others, is that correct? Keertan was Raag. It was so difficult to learn that is why it is so valuable. The Gurus wrote Bani in Raags for us to understand as it gives the message within the composition. Therefore when the Jatha you speak of, many individuals, the youth i can say as the elders, they still follow the rehit properly!! Take the amrit, but live (Sorry to say) Crap lives, its because they do not follow their rehit properly, OR appreciate what the Bani says. I personally think your option from the 2 you gave, is the first one. And preferably at the NEXT amritsanchar (which will probably be AKJ anyway) as in personal opinion, when one needs to pesh, he should have so much love for Guru Ji, he doesnt distinguish the difference between jatha, he/she will only go to see Guru Ji. As you said this isnt an ideal world, thats because we allow ourselves to have manmat thoughts and practises in our lives. When you clock the Bani yourself, when you clock the simran yourself, you will gain understanding and see no difference between Gursikhs. If you require an example, read this story of Bhai Kineya http://www.sikhworld.co.uk/page12.1.html The Person who say NO DIFFERENCE between Muslims and Sikhs on the battlefield, if he could do that, then why cant we between sikhs? Jatha now days is a modern caste system within Sikhi. We built the barriers and in time it will divide the Sikhs even further then it already has. You are correct in saying it does matter where you take your amrit from. It should be from Panj Singh who maintain REHIT. Pukha in the Rehit. If your rehit is not good, you miss amritvela, you dont jap naam, you just zip thru your nitnem coz u have to do it, then you have no piyaar in you. If you did, then you would take the time out to maintain these simple things we got told to do!! The jatha is irrelevant, the Singhs who take on the role of the Panj Piyaaray, if they are not good in Rehit, then true, dont take amrit from that place as they put inside their qualities to. The more chardi kala they are, it willrub on to you. Your sangat to, they play a BIG part. If you dont keep Good Sangat, then again you will fail. This DOES NOT MEAN KEEP A JATHAS SANGAT! There are many pakhandis in the AKJ as well in others like taksaal to. Do not disown them because of this. Only keep the sangat of those who YOU KNOW keep good rehit, and can push your sikh, NOT coz they are not friendly towards you. and if they are this? the same question applies...
15. Therefore if someone other then AKJ give Naam Dhrih is that correct? As i have seen people and heard from the mouth of persons if they knew they were not able to go to a specific event, as they did not receive this gift thru the jatha they wouldnt have taken amrit from where they did. Paji, you post signifies only the panj piyaara can give naam dhrir. Correct, but if they are not from the jatha, but have all received this gift, why would they be excluded... Same amrit, same technique same Guru Panj Pyaara... Thats not a personal question, thats just open to anyone to answer.. as i am very confused.. How if you are given this same gift, why is it that there is so much conflict over where you received it... WJKK WJKF
16. Lets be honest i know many people who have retaken amrit for the above reasons. Whether we like it or not, it is true. And also sorry but i have never recieved naam dhrir as many people here understand it... hence will i never be able to do simran, bhagti, find and realise vaheguru?! Despite having taken amrit from guru sahib ... Poor poor me. Amrit is not a game, and small groups of boys going around saying "you should take it from here because its 'wicked' and better than any other amrit" is a disgrace. And for the doubters who say naam cannot be given by repeating it 5 times... Guru ji can do as he wishes, numbers do not apply, for those who believe in the panj pyareh, if guru sahib gives them mool mantar in this way then guru ji has GIVEN it to them. Guruji can and could give it in the blink of an eye, that is his marji. If the panj represent guru sahib and give u naam, then i would say that you have it. However, as penji has said this type of discussion will only ever lead to further arguments. Lets see what happens... 144362 Best reply i have read. We are discussing on how important it is to jap a style of naam. But maharaj just wants you to jap naam. Simple as! If he gives you something, then you take it and treasure it. Everything is in his hand, by remembering vaheguroo and japing naam on everybreath, you are living within his Hukham. All maharaj wants us to do, is to Jap naam. How you do it is how you are told to jap it by the Panj Piyaara. Thats the bottom line. Not to tell others to receive something they havent been given, if they choose to on their own accord then fair play to them, but to tell them to isnt right. As far as i know, the whole point of it is to gupt. Therefore wouldnt make to much sense would it telling someone to take something unless they get exposed to it right? I know the theory you cant explain to someone how sweet a mango is unles they try it themselves, but you can explain it to them and leave it to them to quench the thrist to try it. But initially you would have to give them some backround? Think of this, someone ones said this. Saas giras generally, you tend to make a reasonable amount of volume with your breathing. In pratan days, the fauj is in the jungle, they trying to keep dealo for a mission. They doing amritvela, japping naam, now they dont want the enemy to know they are there. What do they do? Go mad saas giras style, or stay gupt and repeat Gurmantr on their breath but in their head? Therefore keeping it gupt and remaining quiet so that they dont get recognised!!?? Sorry if i have offended anyone, i tried not to use any words which may cause offense to anyone... WJKK WJKF
17. Then are you sure you deserved to recieve the gift of Amrit in the first place? I remember when appeared infront of Guru Gobind Singh. He said amrit is not a game, its not cheap, it comes at a high cost. Very Expensive. If you think the amrit you received was fake, if you think it might be void because your jatha doesnt have "cred in Sikhi" then are you sure your following Sikhi? Coz i swear, sikhi isnt a jatha. Its the Khalsa Panth. THe day many people realise that, i think we will actually achieve something. As for your friend, if he re took to be part of the jatha for no other reason then just to be part or to receive naam dhrih without a valid reason for pesh then maharaj will can sort it. If its just for the sake of being with a large jatha then maharaj wont be pleased. Think about it, whats amrit now? water thats sweet to drink? or the VALUABLE sacred drink that maharaj gave us to implant in our bodies, to grow through out veins that we get amrit raas and it flows out of dasam duar! Recently there have been alot of people who have taken amrit which i thought was great, then recently, i realised that many of these people have no clue of what Sikhi really is, they dont know the history, they dont understand the bani. I my self do not have much knowledge of Bani but am attempting to learn, where as many people are taking this amrit, and thats it, they have clocked it. they forget they have to work for it. In my opinion, u should never need to take amrit again unles seeking advice from the Panj Piyaaray and if they advise you to retake then you retake. Amrit is so expensive, when we truly understand and appreciate that when you take amrit, you have to give something, YOUR HEAD, EVERYTHING, YOU GIVE EVERYTHING UP AND DIE FOR GURU JI. How many of us can really say we would give everything up for him? Believe, theres alot of us who say it, and there are very few who will. Im not talking about singhs and singhnis from back in the days, or even 21 yrs ago. im talkin in this day and age, in the uk, there is a Singh who truly has sacrificed everything, given everything for maharaj so beadbi is not done. If we need to see people like this, to understand the importance of Sikhi, maybe his story might allow us to wake up and realise Amrit and Sikhi are not just something we can take for granted. If you think your rehit is false, follow the basics of it and keep further rehit on top. If you have piyaar for naam abiyaas, then doesnt mean you have to retake your amrit, it means you do abiyaas in sangat. If you would like to further it and be taught the method, then visit the panj singh and explain to them and follow what they instruct you, but dont just pesh for any reason. If you do, then you dont really care for sikhi or amrit. If i have offended anyone, i will not apologise for it. I can ask for forgivness as im only stating truth, but i will not apologise as i feel that there are to many people who are not payin respect to the amrit they receive, they are merly taking this GIFT FROM GURU GOBIND SINGH as a cheap shot of some drink u can get from a supermarket or a bar. A top up every now and then. Then you wonder why sikhi is such a crap state... Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
18. The first testament is prety good, available from all churches and generally book stores. U mite want to read the Quran to? again available on the internet. Maybe read what Maharaj has to say? If he was friends with Mohammed then im sure there would be something documented within Guru Granth Sahib??? But seeing as they were in 2 different centuries... i dont think so... Muslims will change THEIR history and principles to suit the need to confuse Sikhs who dont know their own faith! This is an update, a discussion from Sikh Soc Stand this yr... Muslims now keep kesh (all kesh, not just beard) (though men are to cut hair otherwise u will look like a woman) :TH: They are so far ahead of scientists are catching up - thought according to islam the world is flat.... @ and they gave equality to women first, but u know, they only make them cover up from head to toe for fashion obviously. Dont always believe what they say. Actually, just dont! lol
19. have you only read the translation? or the Gurmukhi to? Have you read Adi Granth Sri Guru Granth Sahib and gained understanding first? If not, then paji, theres not much point in reading to understand Dasam Granth as its known u need to learn Sukh before you moving on. When u clock the understanding maharaj is saying in Guru Granth Sahib Bani, then you will understand what maharaj is saying in Dasam Granth Bani, in turn same applies to Sarbolh Granth. There is a reason we are meant to study one by one..
20. 1st day of camp was wicked! learned LOADS! Def keep coming people! loads of sangar from bham and leicester! 3days to go, make the most of it!!
21. what happened to be discussing DHUMALA? @
