1. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh, I congratulate all who were involved with the programme. A great job - Well done all (including the BCC). You got it right this time!!! The icing on the cake was the fact that it ended with this track! Jo Boleh So Nihal !! Sat Sri Akaal !!!
2. I agree with Pedrorizzo, as what he is saying, is that if some Sikhs ask for Khalistan rather than live as slaves under the Brahmin/central government controlled Police and Army in the Punjab, the central govt brahmins are black mailing us even today, in that, Pedrorizzo is saying that they will rape and kill innocent Sikh Girls, Sikh Boys, Sikh Women and Murder Sikh Men, AGAIN!. Like the rest of us Pedrorizzo admits that india raped and murdered Sikh Children, Women and Men (.25 million) back in the 80s and 90s because they wanted the Sikhs to remain as their slaves. Pedrorizzo is just saying that the indian/Brahmin government are sill rappist and murderers in waiting and that we should be very careful and get much more organised before we try and fight our way out of this exploitation and slavery as otherwise he fully believes that the indian govt/brahmins will kill even more innocent Sikhs!
3. Don't forget the main reason for this is because the Indian Government picked up, tortured and kiled, those young men who would have been 50 with kesh today. Since that time of the genocide in the 80s & 90s young men are still put off from keeping their case. Some mothers are still frightened to start their children off on the Sikhi path with Kesh in Punjab for fear of the Police killing them one day like they killed Shaheed Jaspal Singh Ji a couple of weeks ago, and how they totured the Young Nihang Singh last week, and the others they have arrested and tortured who have not been caught camera over the last couple of weeks. Or the mothers are scared of their children becoming leaders and being arrested, like our leaders today! Until we have self rule, the central government will still be able to ensure there are hardly any Keshdharis are in Punjab - FACT!!
4. Rebel Singh Ji, Brilliant brilliant points you have raised above. You have proved, in a very concise and precise manner that a Sikh Homeland would bring a better quality of life and freedom for ALL people who resided there! West London Singh Ji, totally agree with you about the Mona having Pride in the religion, background, history, and Nation! I have met loads of them myself! They all say that they intend to take Amrit one day, and I believe them! By the way, I think the Moderates don't want a Sikh Homeland because they have a slave mentality and live in fear as you have both pointed out. They are happy to be ruled by a foreign people rather than being ruled by their own people, the Sikhs! And these moderates certainly don't believe in Guru Gobind Singh Ji's very own words, even though history has proven time and time again that Guru Gobind Singh Ji's words are true. In fact, history has proven these words to be 100% true (btw, I have yet to find any of the words of our 10 Gurus yet, which are not 100% true). Those words are: "Raj Bina Nahin Dharam Chale Hain, Dharam Bina Sab Dalle Malle Hain" (without self rule religions have disappeared, without religion, everybody is finished/trampled on!). Guru Ji also said that nobody will ever give you your rights/human rights, they have to be taken! It could be said that anyone who believes Sikhs should not have their own homeland, like the Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Jews have their own homeland, is disagreeing with Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself. Which is OK, unless, you call yourself a Sikh!

Few Questions

I think Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindrawale was speaking the message of Gurbani when he said: "A Hindu should be a true Hindu" "A Muslim should be a true Muslim" "A Sikh should be a true Sikh" So to be a true Hindu, you can't eat beef (there are other rules you have to follow to be true), to be true Muslim you can't eat Pork (there are other rules you have to follow to be true), to be a true Sikh, you have to take Amrit (there are other rules you have to follow to be true), You could extend this to "A person of any religion should be a true person of that religion" eg Christianity and Judaism (the are rules you have to follow to be true in that religion) The above is the message of our Gurus (Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindrawale was just reminding us of the Guru's teachings). If you go into that message deeper it means you can find God through all religions if you follow them as directed by the founders. So the simple answer is if you call yourself a Sikh of the Guru's you have to follow the Guru's message/instruction/code of discipline/ or use the Guru's Sense, rather than your own sense and made up rules. The Guru's sense and way of life is 'Gurmat'. Your own sense and way of life is your own made up rules or a mish mash of many litter bits of rules from here, there and everywhere, which is 'manmat'. It's easier to follow Gurmat, as Kaal says above, Gurmat is in Guru Granth Sahib Jee, Bhai Gurdas Jee's Vara, and Dasam Granth. You will find that there is a very strange correlation or connection or pattern that proves what Kaal stated above. That is, those that read, study and follow Guru Granth Sahib Jee, Bhai Gurdas Jee's Vara, and Dasam Granth take Amrit, those that don't follow Guru Granth Sahib Jee, Bhai Gurdas Jee's Vara, and Dasam Granth don't take Amrit. Generally we shouldn't worry too much about what other people, of religions other than Sikhi, believe in. Our 9th Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji made a unique sacrifice never made in history, before or after. Our 9th Guru Sacrificed himself for freedom of worship. Our 9th Guru saved a religion he did not follow himself. We should follow that example, and the example of his son, our 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. That is, we should be the best Sikhs we can be by following Gurmat, while allowing all other religions to practice their religion. We should at the same time be here for anybody who wants to be a Sikh of the Guru, of there own free choice and will, after Guru Ji's Kirpa has been bestowed on them!! If we call our self a Sikh, then there's no doubt that our ULTIMATE goal should be to take Amrit de Pahul from the Panj Piyare !!
6. Angrez, I never thought of it like that... our media is changing the world's media. Yet another reason why we should support the Sikh Channel financially. In addition to the Dastaar Day there are so many things the Sikh Channel has done! It's obvious we all love the Sikh Channel - lets just hope we all start to support it.
7. I don't think anybody has really picked up on this piont enough Pappi9. Jaspal Singh Ji's Shaheedi was done for the same reason by the Police. It was a message to the Sikhs to say this is what will happen to you if you come on to the streets to peacefully demonstrate! However, I hope this Shaheedi, the serious injuries, the picking up and torturing of Sikhs, and arrests of our leaders like Baba Baljit Singh Ji Daduwal all serve to strengthen our resolve for Justice and Freedom, rather frighten us into doing nothing. There is so much every Sikh can do even if they do not demonstrate, it's up to us to get on and do it!
8. Very well Articulated! Please keep on posting as articles like this will help more Sikhs wake up from their slumber and start to campaign for truth, freedom and Justice. Ignorance is a sedative, posts like yours are the anti-dote! Great Seva!
9. Good Point! I wonder how any jathabandi or Gurdwara members that stop a panthic channel from fighting for justice for the families of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj will ever face getting the darshan of Guru Ji. What do these members, of any Jathabandi or Gurdwara, think will happen to them when they die if they are helping the rapist and murderers who Sikh Channel are trying to expose. If you stop anyone fighting for justice you are helping the person who committed the injustice - FACT! I hope those people, calling themselves Sikhs, who work against the Sikh Channel, of the Sikhs, really ask themselves how will Guru Ji reward them!! Justice will only come through Media !
10. Amazing article. The facts and figures are always overlooked. It's amazing how the good still conquered the bad, even though they were so out numbered, and put an end to what would have otherwise been an endless cruelty! Let's hope all holocausts are never forgotten!!!
11. I think Sikh Channel would need to be sure that it is going to get full support in America for this to happen. It would be nice if the Direct Debits were set up before it actually opened i.e. the funds were raised and made ready in America before Sikh Channel launched there. It would be nice to see things operate the way they should i.e. Siikhs and their funds chase the Sikh Channel. Rather than the Sikh Channel chasing the Sikhs for funds. I think the Sikhs in America are powerful, rich, and succesful enough to make this happen!!!
12. A must share document/link posted by Shaheed Singh Khalsa above, for those who want to see the evidence! I know what you mean about the word terrorists papidas. However it's been proven that the indian government's own forces, the black cats and the Third Agency, were actually used by the Indian Government to kill non-Sikhs. The black cats and third agency we made to keep beards and dress up as Sikhs to kill non-Sikhs. That's been proven and admitted by the Indian Government since, and more often recently. The Governments own forces were the Terrorist, the Sikhs instead were just fighting to protect their Girls and Women from being rapped and their young sons from being murdered by the Army and Police: Please see the extract below written by White Westerners!
The scenario for a disappearance case is familiar. Plain-clothed police officers or members of the paramilitary forces stop a man in the street (disappearance victims are almost always young men who are suspected of being members or having support for one of India's many armed militant groups), or they may pick him up from his place of work or his home. Often the abduction is done at night, but the disregard for the law and the lack of political will to eradicate these practices means the security forces are equally protected if the abduction takes place in broad daylight. ... Many cases of disappearances result in death, disfigured bodies found in canals, by railway tracks and roadsides are testimony to the cover-up of state murder that is so much a part of everyday life in some parts of India. If suspicion of the killing is successfully laid at the feet of the police, it is often denied or invalidated by one of two improbable excuses; that whilst trying to escape he was shot or that he died in an encounter. (Khalsa Human Rights, "'Disappearances' in Punjab".)
According to Joyce Pettigrew, "many young people killed have not been engaged in armed combat. They have been ordinary boys who have disappeared on an errand for their parents, visiting relatives, or while working in their fields, or who have been picked up from their own or their in-laws' home. ... Disappearances occurred primarily in the under-thirty age group. Some villages had lost more than forty young men. Sursinghwala in Amritsar district had lost seventy young men. Buttar Kalan, in Gurdaspur district, lost twenty. Each village has not kept a separate account of its losses. Erring on the conservative side ... it is highly probable that most villages in the Amritsar district would have lost on average ten young men." (Pettigrew, "Parents and Their Children in Situations of Terror: Disappearances and Special Police Activity in Punjab," in Jeffrey A. Sluka, ed., Death Squad: The Anthropology of State Terror [university of Pennsylvania Press, 2000], p. 211.) Patricia Gossman cites the comments of an Indian police officer who claimed that when armed conflict broke out between Sikh militants and Indian security forces in the early 1980s, "a profile was developed of who was considered to be antigovernment and pro-Khalistan. Based on that profile, young Sikh men between the ages of 18 and 40, who have long beards and wear turbans, are considered to be pro-Khalistan. Whenever the police receive a report from an informant or any other individual that Sikh militants have visited the home of a Sikh family, the police are dispatched to raid the home of that family. Pursuant to that raid, any Sikh male who fits the profile described above is arrested." (Gossman, "India's Secret Armies," in in Bruce B. Campbell and Arthur D. Brenner, Death Squads in Global Perspective: Murder with Deniability [st. Martin's Press, 2000], pp. 266-67.) The failure to turn up a sufficient quantity of young men for persecution and execution sometimes leads to the detention of female relatives. Though they are rarely killed, rape is common. "When mothers and sisters have been held in custody by the police, their ultimate fate unknown, not all fathers and brothers have been able to cope with the threat of what might happen to them and to remain underground to fight. As one old lady from Sabrawan village, Amritsar district, told me, referring to the many abductions of young girls by the police, 'In every village and each house there is sadness.' Hence, to protect their sisters or indeed some other family member, some young militants and their sympathizers have compromised and become informers." (Pettigrew, "Parents and Their Children," pp. 211, 219.)
13. It would be nice if this message got to all the Gurdware and businessmen!
14. There is this Sakhi about someone who was reincarnated as a bear: http://tuhitu.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/sakhi-series-182-bhai-kirtiya-ji.html
15. You're right! Did what you said and got this article straight away, there must be loads more we can email to journalists: http://www.amnesty.o...-years-20090409
16. Perfect suggest! A stall, a laptop with wirelss, or printed forms to hand, and you'd probably get dozens of DD signers in all gurdware every week end! Great idea - Sikh Channel should put a promo out for this idea encouraging the Youth to phone them to give their details and get permission to do this at their local Gurdwara or Mela etc.
17. Isingh, I just realised that what you say is so true! I wonder why most Gurdware are not supporting the Sikh Channel? As there is a short term financial crisis for the Sikh Channel, as well as a long term one, surely all the UK Gurdware could raise some money for the short term, this Sunday alone. They could then decide what long term contribution they want to make long term. The Gurdware must realise that the Sikh Channel is increasing the congregation in every Gurdwara so it's in the interest of the Gurdware to support the Sikh Channel. However, individual Sikhs should not pass on the responsibility to support the Sikh Channel. Individuals should also pay a lump sum now and sign a Direct Debit, or just sign a Direct Debit without a lump sum if they cannot afford both. Sikh Channel should be supported by all, Sikhs, Gurdware, Jathabundis, Sikh Organisations, everybody!!!
18. I think that everything Toofana, Kaljugi, and West London Singh have written is simply their attempt to educate people about the truth! The true facts about the injustices that took place against the minority known as Sikhs in India. I think the West are just not listening or bothering to find the facts out for themselves at the moment (like many Sikhs are doing, it has to be said) in that they are simply NOT listening or bothering to take the time to find out what went on in Punjab and Delhi against the Sikhs in the 1980s & 1990s. The western journalist could even listen to their fellow educated western citizens like Dr Joyce Pettigrew, Mary Anne Weaver a journalist for that part of the world for the Christian Science Monitor , or Dr Cythia Mahmood, to find out the truth, but journalist like this choose to ignore those intelligent, educated, independent White Westerners to instead right an article without any knowledge or research whatsoever. There are many more educated westerners, who know the truth we speak of not to mention many educated Sikhs who have written many books on the above. However, journalist ignore the facts these educated and knowledgeable people have on the events of the 1980s and 1990s. I would remind all Sikhs to just keep on getting the truth across no matter how many times you have to say it!!! People will start listening sooner or later as we are talking about the gang rape and murder of tens and tens of thousands of innocent Girls and Women here! Not to mention the murder of tens and tens of thousands of innocent Boys and Men. Question is, is anybody who ignores these truths and facts, and instead actively puts out these biased and highly inaccurate reports, effectively in favour of the rapist and murderers, and actually supporting those rapist and murderers who STILL walk free! Is it the duty of anyone who decides to talk or write about these events.... to find out the facts before they 'unknowingly' support rapist and murderers! Also, does the law of "ignorance is NO defence" apply to this journalist too? Or, is this journalist totally immune to this law? Fionnuala Bourke must have a conscience, surely she wouldn't print this if she knew she WAS effectively HIDING the gang rape and murder of thousands and thosands of innocent girls and women by putting out this article OF HERS. If somebody could get this message across to Fionnuala Bourke she might start fighting for justice for these thousands and thousands of innocent girls and women who were gang raped and murdered, not to mention the innocent boys and men who were murdered, rather than support their rapist and murderers!!! To all Sikhs, if you feel anything for your brothers and sisters and family who were raped and murdered in Punjab and Delhi in the 1980s & 1990s then please do support your Sikh Channel on Sky 840 by filling in a direct debit on their website. As at the moment, the Sikh Channel is the best bet we have to get justice for these victims and their distraught families who remain behind!! JUSTICE (THE TRUTH) WILL ONLY COME THROUGH MEDIA!
19. All individuals, and even more importantly, every jathabundi, Sikh Organisation and Gurdwara should send in a letter too. The Sikh Council UK are already dealing with the BCC maybe, they should be contacting these newspapers/journalist/press complaints commision too.
20. The reporter writes in her article that the organisation which she incorrectly states Balwant Singh Ji Rajoana belonged (even though he has been proven not to have belonged to) and other organisations had similar ideas: Line for report April 8 2012 by Fionnuala Bourke, Sunday Mercury "believes that Sikhs are a persecuted minority in India and calls for an armed struggle to create a breakaway Sikh homeland called Khalistan (Land Of The Pure)". I am just going to select that one line abone and show the inaccuracies in that one line alone. . . Why is Fionnula Bourke using the word 'believes' when tens and tens of thousands (some estimates up to .25million) of innocent Sikhs were actually raped and killed in Punjab, India (the word belief should be used when you do not have hard facts - but in this case there are thousands of thousands of hard facts so why use the word believes?). Why is she using the term believes when even India has already started to admit the murder of this very very long line of innocent Sikhs by awarding compensation for 1600 innocent Sikhs killed on last week? Also, this reporter is in media, so if she believes in media why doesn't she mention that India carried out one of the cruellest and most vicious media black outs ever witnessed by the World when they carried out these atrocities against the Sikhs back in the 80s and 90s. Media is a good thing, people only keep media out when they do bad - she should know that! She has completely over gone the facts as to why a Sikh Homeland is asked for. She does not mention that even today you can ask millions and millions of Sikhs all around the world and they will all say the still can't believe that India is still holding back justice for the thousands and thousands of family members who have not received justice to date. She forgets to mention that to gang rape and kill thousands of Sikhs in just the one single month of November 1984 alone (Indian governments own figures,) must have took thousands and thousands of rapist and murderers. However, India will still not prosecute those rapist and murderers. She does not mention that. To mention just a couple of further facts, against the hundreds of facts we could use. She hasn't even looked into the water, tax, and land laws which are geared up against the Punjab, and Sikhs in Punjab in particular (even though Punjab is supposed to be a part of India). Like how any Indian from outside the Punjab can buy Land within the Punjab but Sikhs from within the Punjab can't by land in the rest of India. And how cheap housing is being built in the Punjab which only non-Sikhs can buy in the Punjab. There are loads more facts we can use for Sikhs asking for a separate state, but I am sure this journalist would not be interested! Finally, she doesn't mention at all that we, the Sikhs, are not asking for an armed struggle but instead have always asked for the opportunity to be able to negotiate for this homeland in a peacefully and legal way, with the involvement of all other democratic countries in the world, the united nations, Amnesty International, and any other honest nations and bodies prepared to listen and review the facts. She does not mention that the armed struggle has always been self defence to prevent, or halt completely the rape and murder of innocent Sikh Men, Women and Children. Does this reporter really believe that Sikhs should have watched their women and children being raped and murdered? As the Sikhs had NO police and army they could report this to as it WAS the police and army that was doing it to them - under the cover of a total media black enforced by the Indian Government! She also forgets to mention that all peaceful means have always been tried by the Sikhs from the very beginning to simply get India to honour all the promises made to the Sikhs in 1947, by the Indian Government. The British gave India independence after the contribution the Sikhs made in both WW1 & WW2. The Sikhs sacrificed a greater percentage of its men than any other for British freedom as acknowledged by no other than Winston Churchill !! However, she forgets the thousands and thousands of Sikh Solders who died fighting for the freedom of the country she now lives in, Britain, when they fought Hitler and his Nazis. She instead, condemns some Sikhs for killing Beant, the Hitler of the Punjab in the 1990s, but would rather he lived longer to rape and murder more Sikhs Men, Women and Children, as that’s exactly what would have continued to happen with Beant the Chief Minister of Punjab organising it all. Why it is Sikhs were asked to fight Hitler but could not fight Beant (Hitler leader of Germany, and Beant leader of Punjab, were NO different!!! – does this reporter care about that? It would appear NOT!) Finally, which is more damaging, this newspaper article, or the fact that we Sikhs will NOT support the Sikh Channel which can get out true story across to the rest of the world. Shall we just keep on blaming western media who have NO knowledge, insight, or family and witnesses that they have spoken to who actually witnessed all the injustices carried out against the Sikhs in India in the 1980s and 1990s. Should not we Sikhs just get on with supporting our own media, the Sikh Channel who can tell, and are telling, the truth to the rest of the World!! Are we UK Sikhs much more guilty than this reporter as we are the ones muting our Sikh Media Channel sky 840 by deliberately not supporting if financially? Update to this post after seeing Kalyugi's post below (yes I totally agree, great find and letter from Toofana above (we should actually do both, support our Sikh Media and pick up on biased and highly inaccurate reports produced by other media, as Toofana has done!!)
21. I have to say I totally agree with you! I am also really puzzled by our attitude towards supporting our own media. This channel has down so much for us. Even the Sikhs who call themselves religious are not supporting this channel. I thought religion was from daya (compassion). How can anybody call themselves compassionate when they don't even come forward to help an oppressed people get injustice, especially when those people are their very own brothers and sisters, their very own people? I would love to interview all the Sikhs after this channel goes down (unless, of course the Sikhs wake up and donate a just few pounds a month to it) Justice will only come through media!
22. Fiction the future - Possible report: This is how a future report could read: Sikh Channel 840 goes under along with all hope for Sikhs - hurray!! Today the Shiv Sena made a press release thanking the Sikhs for killing their own Sikh Channel and letting it go bankrupt. Shiv Sena celebrated by removing some turbans from Sikhs and burning them and stamping on them (as shown in the actual video below). A spokesman for Shiv Sena said we are very grateful as we want the Sikhs to remain voiceless and NOT to be able to express the injustices that have, and are, ocurring against them. Media is power and we want the Sikhs to be powerless and therefore we thank them for not supporting their Sikh Channel. We would thank them once more for abandoning the first and foremost Sikh Channel. We believe the Sikhs have been waiting for a better Channel to come along before they woke up and started to fill in Direct Debit forms. Well, the Sikhs will be very happy and delighted to learn that we, Shiv Sena, are starting a Shiv Sena channel !! We are confident that the Sikhs will support our channel as they stubbornly refused to support a Sikh Channel so must have been waiting for a Shiv Sena Channel. News channels have interviewed Sikhs asking why they did not support their Sikh Channel, their reporters got the following answers and reactions from the Sikhs: I am better and more holy than all involved with the Sikh Channel so did not support them I was worried that we were starting to tell the world about all the injustices against the Sikhs from 1984, when my fellow Sikhs, including children, got rapped and murdered in countless numbers, so I made sure I did not support them. I did NOT want justice for my fellow Sikhs who were killed in the past, I especially did not want justice for their families who still remain, so, I never filled in a direct debit form or made a donation (plus I think I know a better way of doing things, even though I haven't actually done anything yet!!) However, most Sikhs would just stare at each others faces without giving us an answer when we interviewed them!! Fact, Now! - Actual report: Some of the comments Asiaweek and India Express had quoted from the Leader of Shiv Sena Bal Thackeray: Thackeray - his praise of Adolf Hitler. Apparently he was quoted by Asiaweek as saying: 'I am a great admirer of Hitler, and I am not ashamed to say so!....... he was a wonderful organizer and orator, and I feel that he and I have several things in common.... What India really needs is a dictator who will rule......., but with an iron hand. In an interview with the Indian Express that was printed on January 29, 2007, Thackeray remarked, Hitler was an artist, I love him (for that). He had the power to carry the whole nation, the mob with him. You have to think what magic he had. He was a miracle.... But the good part about Hitler was that he was an artist. He was a daredevil. He had good qualities and bad. I may also have good qualities and bad ones. SUPPORT THE ABOVE MAN AND KILL THE SIKH CHANNEL!!!
