  1. I agree, why should we wear "kacha" (meaning shorts) in the modern age, lets all roam naked like primates do.

What modern age are you on about?!!

shudnt we get rid of the things we dont need anymore?

we dont need brains anymore, computers are getting advanced, much better at logic than the mind. so lets get rid of that too and become robots!

Great, what other ideas you got?

The Great Giver keeps on giving, while those who receive grow weary of receiving.

or in other words... The Giver keeps on giving, but the reciever will get tired of recieving.

  3. ZEE TV showed the Khalistan flag and Dr. Chohan in a way to show that Sikhs are Traitors to the country. Whoever demands Khalistan is a Desh Dharohee

    (traitor of country)

They interviewd Dr Chohan and asked such questions that MADE him speak about the Sikh's HAQ, what the Sikhs Need and Deserve. Its our Right! And they put it down as traitor talk.

    Pathetic.

edit: They taking the 2007 thing seriously and are assuming that Khalstanis would do something this year to try get Khalistan.. So they starting to arrest more and more Sikhs. no.gif

  4. Where is That Door of Yours, and where is That Home, in which You sit and take care of all?

They are without home, without a particular place. They are EVERYWHERE. We cant limit them in 1 space. (nb: Them as in God.. not He because they are without gender)

There are so many Ragas and musical harmonies to You; so many minstrels sing hymns of You....

So many others sing of You, they do not come to mind. O Nanak, how can I think of them all?

Guru Ji Describes how everyone and everything in nature sing praises of Them. Not literally, but metaphorically. Just like we say a picture speaks louder than words; God's awesome creation shows us how AMAZING They really are. By looking around at the beautiful creation, we think "WOW!!" The creation speaks/sings for itself.

That True Lord is True, forever True, and True is His Name.

... Nanak remains subject to His Will.

    Guru Ji is praising Them.

I'm sorry for insulting Guru Ji in this way by limiting his beautiful poetry into a group of words of my stupid interpretation, but this is how I can interpret it.

PS: "..." skips most of the text in quotes to prevent a very long quote. I didn;t skip those lines, the lines inbetween are also included.

    Hope I made sense

  5. I know...pretty much nothing. I read about like unshorn hair rules and wearing cuffs on the arms and stuff, but nothing really detailed.

Hey, welcome to the forums. There are 5 kakars (K's) we should wear as a Khalsa (meaning Pure). Khalsa is a Saint and Soldier.

    These are: ...

Kesh - unshorn hair, love the way God made you. Cuting hair = cuting off a suply of energy.

Kangha - Wooden Comb, to clean the hair..Represents purity of soul

Kara - Pure steel bracelet, good 4 defending your wrist during sword fights. represents the act of keeping within the boundaries of Sikhi.

Kirpan - Sword, representing honour and justice. ONLY use it to defend the weak.

It's part of the discpline of the Khalsa, established by Guru Gobind Singh ji.

Basically, Sikhi is based around Naam Simran (remembering God's name) Naam = name ie: Waheguru. This, when repeated with love for the creator.. the father.. the best friend, makes your soul feel uplifted.

Sorry for lack of info.. thats all i can give so far.. any questions?

  6. Don't worry no-one has heard of this guy, I doubt SGPC will change maryada just because one guy says so, and singhs in india will deal with it.

HMm they did that with the "nanakshahi" calender... only couple of years ago.

They seem to cahnge their maryada every 50/60 years!? @

  7. Please note the same producers that have created albums to commemorate (ie: Immortal Productions - Shaheedi Immortality) called their latest album DHARAM DE RAKHVALE.

Khalsa is AKAL PURAKH KI FAUJ

To DEFEND Dharam is our duty. Dan Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji did just that.

    Vaheguru
